The first episode of the newly named Boogie Down Bombers Podcast! The guys start off talking about how on fire Aaron Judge has been lately (01:00) and move on to how the Yankees came back from their injuries last season, along with Stanton being locked in (05:00). Andujar in left field was the next topic, which is not the best, but Urshela playing third is the real deal. The boys also think Tauchman should be getting some more looks in left field (10:00). The Cardinals have had a mini-team-outbreak of COVID-19, which is not great for the NL (16:00). The Marlins and Phillies are coming back from their COVID-19 postponements (20:00). The Mets couldn’t find Cespedes, and both the Mets and Cespedes handled the situation pretty poorly (23:00). There was an Ohtani injury update mid-pod, and it wasn’t one that Tim was fond of (34:00). One of your hosts, Tim LaDuca, recorded this special, one part episode for a history class about baseball in Mexico. Beginning with the introduction (0:00 - 3:30), Tim looks at how events such as "Fernandomania," and other aspects of baseball in Mexico helped shape Mexican identity after the Mexican Revolution. From 3:31 - 6:45, he gives an overview of Mexican national identity and then talks about what role sports served in Mexico before the Revolution began (6:46 - 11:45). The majority of the podcast is spent looking at baseball in Mexico such as the Mexican League raids on MLB players, the 1957 Little League World Series, and Negro League players suiting up to play in Mexico (11:26 - 31:41).
