Some days, you are on top of the highest mountain, shouting your victories for all the world to hear. Then, the next day (or actually maybe just 10 minutes after the whole top of the mountain moment)… you’re feeling like you just got pushed off the mountain that only minutes ago you had conquered.   When this happens (and it will happen often), it’s so important to have the right mindset and to keep the good and the bad events of your life in perspective. Today, we are going to talk about how to celebrate your wins, even when you are feeling discouraged. When you take the time to celebrate your wins, you just might find that you haven’t actually tumbled too far down the mountain. Maybe you’ve even found a shortcut or another path that you didn’t see before.   Head over to Positively Delighted for more information and resources from this episode :)

What does bravery look like to you?

Does it look like daring acts of courage? Or maybe small steps outside of your comfort zone?

Everyone has their own definition of bravery, their own unique challenges, and their own personal fears.

While these fears can be scary, they are not always bad. Our fears can show us what is important and we might just find that if we lean into these fears, we can discover our own kind of brave, as our guest today will show us.

Today on the podcast, I'm interviewing Jaclyn Fischer, an incredibly brave solo traveler who pushed past her anxiety to follow her love of travel and lived by herself for 8 months out of her Toyota Tacoma. In this episode, she will share with us what she learned when she decided to push her comfort zones and lean into her fears.

Today, I’m interviewing Laura Petersen, a tall Math and Psychology teacher turned international bestselling author, international speaker, podcaster, and persuasive writing expert. She helps people to {actually} make money with their books, build their brand authority, and grow their business.

Laura believes that helping others grow in business allows you to make a bigger impact in the world and have more time, money, and freedom to do more of what you love.

Laura is the host of the popular podcast Copy That Pops and she is the author of two best selling books on Amazon, Copywriting for Podcasters and Permission to Write a Brand Building Book for Podcasters. Both books hit #1 in their categories in the U.S. and abroad. I met Laura earlier this year when we were both volunteering for the Social Media Marketing World conference and was instantly impressed with her confidence in networking. She took me under her wing and bestowed some of her marketing wisdom on me, even getting me into an exclusive networking party! After seeing Laura in action at the conference, I have noticed such a huge difference in my own networking confidence. So I wanted to have her on the podcast today to share this wisdom with you! Networking is such an important skill and you can use it to improve all areas of your life. Most obviously yes, you can improve your career, but you can also take this so much further! I’m talking about so much more than just your career. I’m talking about your dreams and the dreams of the people around you. Networking can help make your dreams a reality and that’s a theme that came up often in this interview. Laura talks about her journey from teaching to owning her own business and everything in between. Every step of the way, she met new people, learned new skills, and increased her own confidence. I hope that after hearing this interview, you will as well. Head over to Positively Delighted for more information and resources from this episode :)

Does it mean that you’re always little miss sunshine?

Or does it mean that dreams come true where ever you go?!

As wonderful as these things sound… there is a bit more to it than that and we will get into this today :)

In this episode, I want to share with you what it means to live a Positively Delighted life, full of delight, laughter, and fun! This is also the first Song and Story episode for my album "Music & Lyrics". This episode will focus around the inspiration for my song "Dolly Smiles".

Suddenly, it hits you. You are overwhelmed with a really bad mood.

You know those days when try as you might, you just can’t seem to shake it? Your optimistic perspective is spiraling out of control and you feel like you want to kick and scream on the floor in a full out temper tantrum.

Today, we are going to talk about how to avoid these temper tantrums and 8 ways to get out of a really bad mood.

This episode is inspired by a blog post that I wrote awhile back about how to get out of a really bad mood.

I consider myself to be a very optimistic and positive person, but there are those times when bad moods hit me hard. It’s usually accompanied by a headache and overall feeling of yuckiness and probably caused by some situation that is happening in my life or stress that I haven’t quite dealt with.

When this happens, it can be really frustrating and sometimes hard to calm down. When you get in a really bad mood, you’re working yourself up into these emotions and you can’t just turn it off and instantly be happy. The best thing to do in this situation is to take steps to calm yourself down and then you can move into feeling good again.

I recommend choosing a few different ideas from this episode, depending on how you feel in the moment. Some ideas will help you calm down, while others will help you work off aggression, and the rest will get you focused on the positive.

My hope is that this episode will give you the tools to get out any future really bad moods and to navigate these emotions in a healthy way.

In this episode, I'm interviewing Drew Bensen. Drew is an entrepreneur, public speaker, and inspirational coach. He is also a Transgender man and a fierce lover of human connection and positive living. He is a certified "Infinite Possibilities" coach, trained under Mike Dooley from 'The Secret’. Drew launched his writing career in 2017 by coauthoring a book called "Positive Minded People". He has spent the last two years traveling the SW edges of America full time in a Winnebago RV, with his dog Ralphie. He is currently living in Seattle and leading his dog walking company, called Close To Home, which he has been running for the past 10 years! Drew believes in living his most authentic life and empowering others along their path. Drew is an amazing inspirational coach and I know this for a fact because I have been working with him since earlier this year. I wanted to have Drew cover these topics on the podcast because we’ve spent a lot of time covering this in our coaching sessions and it’s made a huge impact on my life. We recorded this episode about 2 months ago, when I was in the midst of some major changes in my life and business and it was all in perfect timing because Drew was right there by my side to teach me how to navigate making decisions and stepping into my power. Drew has this aura of positive energy that surrounds him and his presence clearly states “I know who I am”. In this episode, he shares his own personal journey of the disconnect between knowing who he was and who the world saw him as. He also talks about his battle with anger and how he was able to understand and make peace with his emotions to truly own his power and step into his best life. Drew has some great advice for emotional tools that we can use to navigate any situation and stories to illustrate these points. What rules do you live your life by?

Are they your rules or someone else’s?

Today, we are going to talk about how to determine the rules you are living by right now and how to create your own rules for living a life that excites you and fills you with joy.

In today’s episode, I am interviewing Camille Attell from More Than A Wheelin’. For 20 years, Camille and her husband Bryce both had successful careers in the corporate world. Camille worked as a corporate trainer and Bryce worked as a financial planning analyst. Until... they decided to make a radical life change, which involved selling their home, downsizing their possessions, and leaving their very stable careers. They wanted to live a life on purpose that they could be excited about, so they jumped head first into full-time RVing and have been traveling for the past two years. Now, Camille runs her own business and teaches her program Remote Work School, which helps others transition to a life of travel and working remotely. In this episode, she will share with us the emotions that came with this transition and the lessons she has learned along the way. In today’s episode, I am interviewing Dan and Lindsay from Follow Your Detour. Dan and Lindsay are full-time traveling RVers from Colorado. They took the leap into full time RVing after experiencing life altering news. They viewed the news as a life "detour" and thus came the name for their travel and inspirational blog, Follow Your Detour. Through their detour, Dan and Lindsay have grown more passionate about pursuing their dreams and leading a fulfilling life, while sharing their story in hopes of inspiring others to do the same. One of the traits that I admire so much about Dan and Lindsay is their self-awareness. You can tell from this interview that they make the time to process what is going on in their lives, and then make the conscious decision to look at it through a positive mindset. I think this is a part of positivity that is easily overlooked, but SO important. You could skip straight to the “I want to feel happy and good” stage, but underneath you will still have those emotions tugging at your soul, begging to be acknowledged. It seems counter productive to feel sad to be happy, but it’s true. Loving and acknowledging the parts of yourself that are hurting will actually make you feel a lot better. It comes down to what kind of happiness you want to have in your life. Do you want happiness that is only surface level or happiness that you feel to your core? It’s your decision, but you have to put in the work. In this interview, Dan and Lindsay talk about what it looks like to make this decision for yourself. They share their own experience of leaning into the discomfort and give you the reassurance that you can come out feeling better on the other side of it. Most of all, this interview will help you cultivate the positive mindset to follow your detour, where ever that may take you. I’m really excited to share today’s episode with you because it is the first ever song and story episode on The Positively Delighted Show. Music is very powerful and it can connect us to certain emotions and feelings. Not only is music a huge passion of mine, but I believe that it is a great tool that we can use to fast-track our way to the life we want.

And today’s interview totally embodies this idea because it features the song “I Want To Live My Life” by the incredibly talented songwriter and photographer Joe Hendricks. Joe is another amazing person that I have met from The RV Entrepreneur Summit, where he was traveling around the country with his wife and son in an Airstream trailer, seeking adventure and taking photos of beautiful landscapes along the way. He is intensely creative and has a passion for teaching others who have a dream of being a professional photographer.

Joe posted this song in our RV Entrepreneur Facebook community and I was in tears when I first heard it. This song is an anthem for living your best life and I can’t wait to share it with you. I hope this interview will give you the inspiration and courage to follow your dreams, where ever that may take you.

Today’s guest is Alyssa Padgett, one half of the mega popular RV blog, HeathandAlyssa.com. In 2014, Alyssa convinced her husband Heath to take her to all 50 states for their honeymoon and somehow he tricked her into doing it all in an RV. They’ve been living and traveling in an RV ever since.

I wanted to bring Alyssa on the show today because:
A. She’s one of my closest friends and I could talk to her for days
B. She has SO MUCH KNOWLEDGE about making things happen.

This is something that I know I need in my life and I’m pretty sure that other people will as well. I’m naturally a starter. I love to start things, but I’m not always so great at finishing them because I keep wanting to start new things. It’s an endless cycle, but I’m working on the habits of becoming a finisher. This is mainly due to conversations with Alyssa, where I have asked her to help me plan out my life.

No one plans like Alyssa. She is a girl with a plan and she and Heath make stuff happen in their life and in their business.

They traveled to all 50 states, filmed and released a documentary called Hourly America, grew a Facebook group to over 10,000 members, launched a podcast called The RV Entrepreneur, created a conference for RV Entrepreneurs, and both wrote books in the RV space. Currently, Heath is running his podcast and working on his start-up Campground Booking and Alyssa has launched her book on Amazon and is killing it as a bestseller in the RVing category. All this while maintaining their website, writing blogs posts, oh and creating travel vlogs in addition to traveling full-time in an RV.

In this interview, we cover a range of subjects and get a behind the scenes look into the ups and downs of bringing these dreams to life. Alyssa has some great tips for us on how we can put together our own plan for achieving our greatest dreams.
