July 1st, 2021 sparked a new era in college athletics as we know it. On July 1st, collegiate athletes across the country became eligible to begin receiving compensation for their name, their image, and their likeness, otherwise known as "NIL".
This date marked a monumental shift in college athletics that has been long overdue. For far too long, college athletes have been unable to capitalize on their marketability, and the time has come for these young men and women to finally be able to monetize themselves in the same way that these schools and universities are monetizing them.

WHAT IS GOOD! We are here with the final interview of our initial #AgentTalk interview week and I am nothing short of ECSTATIC to be able to have a sit down with today's guests.
Just about 4 years ago I was sitting down for a service at the Hills, and leading worship for the day were these three individuals who I didn't know, but they all kind of just stood out in their own way. I could tell that there was a familiarity between them, so I figured they had just been performing at the church together for a while. I would later find out that I was right about them performing together before, but little did I know that they were actually siblings from a little town in Alabama, who, just a few years later, would go on to have the #2 most popular Christian music song in the entire country.
It's been a blessing to be able to follow a bit of their journey, and I am grateful that these three took time out of their busy schedule to provide value to myself, as well as all of those will be wise enough to tune in. WHAT'S GOOD! Y'all already know we are continuing along with our #AgentTalk Interview Week and today we are chopping it up with one of the strongest, and toughest individuals I have ever come across, none other than my good friend, CHASE GARSEE!
Chase and I met about two years ago at my local church here in Nashville and the first thing I noticed was his long flowing hair, and some big ole trap muscles. We didn't instantly hit it off as best friends or anything of the sort, however I grew to have an appreciation for his 300+ pound power clean, as well as his tenderness and intentionality in raising two daughters of his. As time has progressed, I have learned plenty from Chase in regards to life, the ability to embrace those with a different point of view, and more importantly, how to have patience and yet remain firm when trying to lead a family of your own.

What's good !! It's Tuesday so you already know it's time for #StockTipTuesday !
Prior to giving birth to Roman, Lyd decided to buy a stationary cycling bike from Peloton. I didn't really know all too much about the brand or company itself, but I did know that $2100 was A LOT of money to commit to for a workout bike. I also knew that if we are going to get to a place of wealth in our lives, we must be willing and intentional about investing into the same companies that we are consuming. If we believe in a product enough to trade in your money for it, we should also believe in that product enough to allow it to create monetary returns in our favor.
Lydia listened to my advice when I mentioned that she should put some of her money into Peloton stock, and since then she has seen her holding more than double in worth. The money itself is not what I'm most proud of (even though we'll take it! lol), but more so the wisdom and discipline shown by my wife through this investment process. & for me, it was nothing more than confirmation that investing really is that simple, no matter who you are.
My encouragement today for others is that investing itself is not rocket science, but more so common sense. Hopefully today's #StockTipTuesday can help grow financial fruit in your life!

So let’s talk about our 1st year of marriage. First, happy anniversary to my boo! I cannot put into words how much this woman means to me and I am just grateful that God appointed me for her, and her for me. These last 365 days of marriage have been everything. We’ve gone through every emotion. Had ups and downs, times of pure euphoria, & times questioning what we’re doing wrong. Marriage has brought us growth, has stretched us, has challenged us, has blessed us, and has ultimately brought us closer together than I could’ve ever imagined. Marriage has humbled me. Marriage has taught me how to be a servant. Marriage has taught me the ability, & the need to die to self daily. Marriage has shown me that how joyful, how peaceful, and how prosperous a marriage will be has FULL dependency on the actions, the guidance, and the humility of the husband. Marriage has shown me that having a wife that knows who she is on the inside, a wife that has no desire to conform to the world, but instead seeks to be renewed daily into a higher, more Christlike version of herself, man… there is NOTHING better. No amount of money, no car, no vacation, no job, no fame, no nothing could ever replace or compare to a wife like that. A wife like my wife. Marriage is not something to be taken lightly, nor is it something to be afraid of. Marriage is a unity made in the presence of the One who made us. It is sacred. It is blessed. What's good! We are back today on Agent Talk with a new #StockTipTuesday and today I wanted to speak on a company that I believe is a NO BRAINER from an investing standpoint.
When it comes to my investments, I will occasionally invest in a company that is newer, unproven, but might have a life/world changing product such as #NIO (which I discussed in a previous episode), but for the most part I like to have my portfolio comprised of dependable companies that have a track record of being consistent and also essential in the world that we live in.
In light of the coronavirus and everything else going on, one company that has continued to prosper, despite the current state of society is none other than Amazon. While a good amount of companies are going bankrupt, reducing their output, seeing severe decreases in revenue, etc, #Amazon has been simply BOOMING. Say what you want about the way their business is ran, you can have your own opinion of Jeff Bezos, but from a strictly investing standpoint, I will put my $ on Amazon every time. I touch on my thoughts on how to approach investing in Amazon, why I believe their company is a secure bet, and a little more in today's pod.

What’s good! We are back with #WiseWordsWednesday and I have one question for you.. When you hear the name “Malcolm X”, what thoughts initially come to mind? For me, for many years, the two words that would come to mind were 1.) violence and 2.) racism. Why did I think that? Why did I have this opinion of a man whom I never met before, never studied before, never heard speak for himself?
Truly, it’s because that’s the message that society, and this country as a whole has promoted about him, & that’s what they want you to think. We are never taught about Malcolm X in school, even though he played an integral role in the civil rights movement. We are lead to believe that he was a violent man, even though he though he used his intellect more than anything else. We are lead to believe that he was a racist, when the reality was he just simply wanted to see his people prosper in a land of oppression. Over the last few weeks I have been taking a deep dive into who Malcolm X REALLY was, what he stood for, and what I can learn from listening to him speak his truths. I have realized that society has, in his words, had me duped for far too long. We are in a time and a place where we HAVE to be willing to unlearn everything that this society, this world has taught us, or we will truly fail to come to a place where we can think for ourselves. Above all else, this message is an encouragement to everyone, to be willing to be a thinker for yourself, instead of just being sheep. Much love!

It is unfathomable to me how some of these agents out here really do just look at these players as nothing but a dollar sign. To be a grown man, doing a 21 or 22 year old dirty, running away from responsibility, it just doesn't make sense to me. But I do believe that we all reap what we sow, and that those who simply do good business, will receive good in return.

What’s good ! We are back with a new #StockTipTuesday and today we are talking $NIO. NIO is essentially an electric car company that I’ve now been invested in for almost 2 years. Since investing, NIO’s stock has heavily fluctuated, including a massive nose dive following a negative earnings report back in 2019. When things like that happen, most of us simply look at the chart and panic sell, instead of really taking the time to see what is going on behind the scenes. While most of my friends that got in sold their shares, I instead accumulated more. I’m a big believer that if you invest, you are investing in the company/business itself, and not just the stock. When we do our proper due diligence, stay firm in our beliefs regardless of what the stock price shows, and trust the research that we have put together, in the end we should come out on top as long term investors. While my friends that sold ended up losing money, and are now sitting empty handed, I am in the green so far on my overall investment in NIO, with plenty of room to run and a lot of promise ahead.

What's good ya'll already know what time it is. On today's episode of Agent Talk we are tapping in to the newly approved bill by the state of Florida that will allow collegiate athletes to make money off of endorsements beginning in July of 2021. This is HUGE! For years the debate has raged on in regards to college athletes being allowed to be paid for their likeness, and for Florida to FINALLY get the ball rolling, this is BIG! There is no doubt in my mind that athletes in college should have the opportunity to make money off of who they are, especially given the fact that these schools are raking in CAKE off of the same athletes. To be able to make a couple hundred, or even a few thousand off of your individual brand while you're in college, I cannot express how beneficial this will be to the average college athlete. For me as a marketing a rep, the potential that this brings is unbelievable, and I cannot wait to be able to tap in with some college athletes to bring value to them. Safe to say, I am HYPE about this.

What’s good! Ya’ll already know what time it is, it’s #StockTipTuesday. In today’s pod I discuss a previous IG story that I put out basically encouraging people to invest into the airline industry. This was about a month and a half ago when Covid-19 and the fears attached had essentially beaten down the airline industry as a whole. Boeing, United, Southwest, and others saw their stock price drastically reduced due to the virus, and in my eyes they were at premium buying prices.
Since then, the majority (if not all) airline related stocks have seen a tremendous rebound. Boeing is up nearly 75%, most airlines have seen increases of 50% or more, and all still with room to run. It doesn’t take a financial expert to utilize the tools at hand to achieve wealth. But it does take the desire to learn, and a willingness to use common sense while exposing yourself to the market.

What's good! We are back here on Agent Talk and today I have a few touching points. This past weekend I took some time away from the computer, from my phone, from the world in a sense to allow myself a period of refresh and to hone in to what God has been saying. Life as a whole can be overwhelming, so to be able to sit back, quiet the outside world, and be still for a few days was FRUITFUL. I believe that being able to clear some space periodically for God to speak to you without the noise of the world is something that has been invaluable for me, no doubt. With that said, it's Monday. It's a new week with new opportunities, new obstacles, new greatness! The last few weeks have been HEAVY and my encouragement to anybody listening is to do everything in YOUR power on an individual level to tap in today to the great works that lie ahead of you. For me, one of those things that I know has been laid out my path is the Always Forward Foundation. We are in a time of our lives that will undoubtedly go down in the history books. I have seen so many people sharing their experiences, their beliefs, their opinions, and it has been eye opening seeing the transparency being shared across all platforms. Never in my life have I seen one instance affect so many people in so many varying ways. The conversations that are being had and the voices that are speaking up is something that I don't think anybody would have anticipated. It has truly been empowering watching so many of my closest friends step out into uncomfortable spaces and allowing themselves to be vulnerable in ways that they have never been before, and I am truly hopeful that the murder of George Floyd brings us, as a whole, closer together than we have ever been.
With that said, on the flip side, over the last few days I'll have to admit that I found myself getting too wrapped up in the things of the world. Social media has allowed so many of us to have a voice and a platform, while also being one of the greatest distractors that mankind has ever created. I am fully on board with the fight against racism. Fully on board with the fight against evil. However, I am also fully on board with the truth. & the truth is, God knows what He is doing, and we can forget that. The truth is, the officer that killed George Floyd is going to have his day of judgement. Not before a man of this earth, but before the One who is the all encompassing judge, jury, and sentencer. & so will you, so will I. & again, we forget that. I think it can be so easy to point fingers and be outraged at the wrongs of this world, while failing to realize and address the wrongs that we, individually, commit daily.
My encouragement to any and everybody, is yes, continue to fight the good fight. Continue to educate yourself on the matters in play. But also, take some time to examine the sins of your own life. Because truth be told, we ALL are going to die, and we ALL are going to have to face judgement for the time that we spend on this Earth. Make sure that above all else, your #1 mission in life is to be right with the Lord... because truly, we can fight all of the earthly battles we want, but if our end date comes, and we haven't submitted to Jehovah, what was it all really for?

In light of the times that we are in, I felt it was necessary to put out something that would allow for Lydia and I to present an open dialogue surrounding the current racial struggles that our nation finds itself in, as well as a variety of other topics within the realm of racial issues.
As black men, there are certain obstacles that we have to face in our country that nobody else has to overcome or worry about. In being a white woman, there are certain privileges and experiences that my wife has encountered that I will never be able to relate to. Being able to come together to discuss these differences and what tangible steps we all can do on an individual level as well as on a national level is critical if we ever really want to see change in our world. My sole prayer above anything else right now is that my wife and I do our part to bring about truth, and bring about the change we want to see in the world we are in, in hopes that one day our baby boy will be able to see a unity between races on all sides that is currently lacking.

A little over a year ago, I made the decision that I wanted to uncover the truth for myself. We live in a world that is constantly trying to distract us with meaningless knowledge. The world that we are in offers us so many myths about the truth of who we are, where we come from, and why we are here, that 99% of us truly are lost.
For me, I reached a point where I needed to set out on my own journey to discover what is really true, and forget everything else. So, with the help of one of my best friends, I read through the Holy Scriptures. Front to back. One page at a time. We started in February of 2019, finishing just before the turn of the new year. The revelation, the understanding, the wisdom that this decision brought me has been invaluable. Once you know the truth, in a world that provides nothing but distractions, you just see things differently, more clearly.
Truth is, EVERYTHING that happens in our lifetime, is a replaying of what has always been. Murder, envy, lust, greed.. all sin that stems from mankind’s separation from God. Since the days of the Garden, the sin of this world has slowly but surely created the fabric of the world we live in today. We wonder why the world is how it is, yet when you study the real history, you realize it has always been how it is today. My encouragement to all is on an individual level, take the time to just read the truth for yourself. Uncover what this world doesn’t want you to know, and see where that takes you. Because the TRUTH is, we are ALL sinners in need of a Savior. There are no ifs, no ands, no buts about it. If we take an honest look at the current state of the world, we see that it is EVIDENT that we are helpless on our own. It’s not until we allow the truth into our hearts, on an individual, and on a global level, and allow Him to cleanse us, to restore us, that this world will ever see a change.
I love you all, and I simply long for more individuals to know, to understand, to be able to live in the truth in a world that will do everything it can to distract us from it. If you have never done so before, I encourage you to read through the Word yourself.. I know the Spirit will do the rest.

Proverbs 27:19 states, "As in water face reflects face, so a man's heart reveals the man." I believe that a common mistake that we often make with ourselves is we fail to unpack the condition of our heart. We see here in a proverbs, who we are as a person is revealed to us by our heart. We can build ourselves up as if we are these generous, loving individuals, however if our heart is hardened, so are we as a person. If our heart is full of fear, we are, even if we don't want to admit it, a fearful person. If our heart is full of ego and pride, despite what we tell ourselves or tell other people, we are a prideful person. I believe it is of the UTMOST importance that we each take the time to understand the current condition of our heart, and to not allow the "accomplishments", the money, or the attention we get from others to cloud our perception of the state of our heart. Luke tells us that "out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks". Taking a moment to simply reflect on what comes out of our mouths, serves as a critical 1st step towards understanding where our heart lies.

Right now, we are in the swing of things in regards to the 2021 NFL Draft recruitment process. As an agency, now is the time for us to build relationships with prospective guys, and see who fits the mold of a true "GSA guy". With that said, one error that I believe many college football players make, is they have it in their minds that they should focus on the season, and wait until after the season is over with to begin figuring out who will be working with them as far as representation and marketing goes.
To me, this is a mistake. As an individual who strongly believes in the power of marketing and branding in the world we live in today, waiting until you are just one or two weeks prior to the beginning of the draft cycle is a huge error that many players make. The pre-draft process itself is typically when most players' marketability will be at its highest until they begin to make a name for themselves in the NFL. For some, the attraction and appeal that they have during those 4 months leading up until the draft, will be the most attention they'll have for the entire duration of their career. If a player waits until late December or January to begin to build a marketing plan with the representatives, there is only so much that can be executed. However, if a player takes the time during the summer to start figuring out who they'll be working with after their season is over, this allows for any given marketing rep MONTHS to brainstorm, blueprint, and begin building a brand for the player. Once January comes, and the player officially agrees/signs, said player and their reps are able to hit the ground running, and truly separate themselves from the pack.

If you knew that there was a great opportunity ahead, within a field/industry that you're passionate about, would you be willing to work for someone, for free? The answer to this question should tell you where your true motivation and heart lies. Most individuals are money driven. They'd rather get paid to do something they hate, than to work for free doing something they love. This thinking is backwards, and is a reason why so many individuals get stuck in a cycle of jobs and careers that they find no fulfillment in. Instead, my encouragement for those listening is to be willing to work for free. Being able to provide value to someone or some company for free within an area that you see as a long term passion point for you will hold great rewards over the course of the long run. By making yourself and your talents accessible free of charge, you can open up doors and opportunities that would've remained closed if your sole mindset was chasing after the dollar.

I'm a big believer that ALL individuals should be utilizing the resources at hand. As an agent, I try my best to encourage our guys that they have to be the biggest promoters of themselves. I've realized that far too many athletes are complacent in regards to self promotion of their skills as well as their brand. Relying on your college, your team, or various media outlets to promote who you are as a player and as a person, is doing yourself a complete disservice. Utilizing a platform as simple and as seamless as YouTube, can truly carry long term benefits beyond the realm of your success within your sport.
One person that has been a blessing for me in the last few months is one of clients, George Campbell. I would say that George is 1st client that I've had that has truly allowed me to have the green light in regards to marketing and promotion of his brand. In doing so, we have not only been able to connect George with several companies and brands, but his network and brand recognition has grown immensely in a short time period.
The athletes that open themselves up and harness the power of social media + content creation, are those individuals that will see long term, positive affects of their actions extending far beyond just their playing career.

During our very 1st team meeting, then Vandy Head Coach, now Penn State HC James Franklin wrote the following on the board: “Opportunityisnowhere”. He asked us to say out loud what he had written. I thought he had wrote “opportunity is no where”. He instructed us and said what we see in life is all in the perspective we approach any given situation. When we thought we saw that “opportunity is no where”, he was instead getting us to see “opportunity is now here”. A simple shift in perspective can truly change everything within our lives.

What’s good! Short message here today. On March 10th, I posted an episode where I spoke on my belief that people should not fear or panic in the midst of the coronavirus. There was a lot of worry, a lot of people sold their shares in fear that the market would continue to downturn, failing to realize that the market would continue to do what it has always done.. rebound! This draft process has brought many highs and many lows. The final day of the actual draft was no different. It's crazy how in the moments where we think we have been abandoned, the whole time God is just beckoning us to give our situation to him. The moment that I allowed God into the room, He was able to work and brought fruit to a situation that in the middle of it, seemed bare. I am so grateful for how everything has turned out for our guys, even those who are still to be signed. I have felt a pull today like none other to continue to step into the leader that each of my guys needs me to be for them, and to continue to do everything in my power to guide them on the course of their life journey. I have full confidence that ALL 5 of my guys have nothing but greatness awaiting them.

God calls us to be the light in the world. Far too many of us try to live life hidden, without allowing ourselves to be vulnerable with others. We have gotten so far removed with each other, that a simple “good morning” has become a rarity in our culture.

So, I recently went to an elementary school and spent some time with 4th graders. The love and joy of these children was amazing, and a true life lesson was shared. In life, people are going to doubt you, question you, and society will do everything in its power to deter you from the greatness that awaits. Don’t let it.
