Here we are, the end of an era... it has been a crazy ride, and whether you have been with us since episode one, or you are new to the podcast we want to thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. This is the last episode of the NerdSync Podcast. This is truly a bitter sweet moment, as old things come to an end, and we look forward to the future of NerdSync. In this special 2 hour finale of the NerdSync Podcast Scott, Chris, and Bryce discuss why the podcast is ending and their favorite parts of the Nerdsync podcast. The internet is an amazing place where you can access just about anything you want at a moment's notice! However, the comics industry has been slow to catch up to streaming culture like Netflix and Hulu.
Sure, you can buy digital comics individually, but that's like buying single episodes of a tv show on iTunes when you can just stream them for free on Hulu the next day or on Netflix in a few months. That business model is making less and less sense as the years pass.
So is it time that we get a Hulu-style comic service where we can read unlimited new comics for a small fee each month? How would that even work? We talk about all this and MUCH more on today's podcast!

An up-and-coming director named Steven Spielberg remarked that comic book superhero movies will go the way the of the western, implying that their day in the sun is all but over. Meanwhile, an equally little-known director named Zack Snyder disagreed, saying that characters like Batman and Superman are Shakespearian and will be in popular culture indefinitely in one form or another.
We're not filmmakers, but we're still going to try and discuss this topic as if we know exactly how Hollywood works. Specifically, we're going to talk about how the Deadpool movie might be so different that it will successfully push superhero movies into a new era. An era where we don't have to have incredibly formulaic and predictable comic book movies. But that's only if the movie makes money...

Comic book movies all seem to expect a franchise to be made from them. Because of that, they tend to make the first movie an origin story of the superhero in question. But should they?
Should comic book movies instead just focus on telling a good story in a world where the hero is already established and not feel the need to force feed the audience a character's comprehensive backstory? It's pretty standard fare when we see superheroes beating up villains in comics or movies, but we're starting to see a bit more of heroes vs other heroes. We want to know why is that?
Today, we're discussing the reasons why we think we want to see Captain America take on Iron Man in Civil War, or Batman versus Superman in some other movie whose name I can't remember.
Is it because we like to see the script flipped around so that there's more uncertainty in who will win? Is it because we like to watch our favorite heroes be pushed to the absolute edge? Or is it simply because we like to watch conflict between two parties who we understand well, and heroes are just the only ones who get a lot of character development?

We're creating our own 'What If' and 'Elseworlds' stories about our favorite comic book characters! These are basically just stories that we made up that we think would be awesome, but would probably never happen since they would change up characters and entire worlds too much. But hey, it's fiction. Anything can happen!
We've got an interesting Superman story involving his permanent death as the world's greatest hero, and another about the idea of him never making it off of Krypton in the first place. We've also got some fun Spider-Man stories about the radioactive spider that bit him as well as the idea of him becoming a super villain. And, of course, we've got some fantastic and dark Batman stories that dive into his psyche and his ability to kill everyone if he wanted to!

The latest film by Marvel Studios is the much hyped Avengers: Age of Ultron! With the 2012 Avengers film breaking records and being almost universally loved, how will the sequel stack up? Well let's freaking talk about it!
We've assembled our own team of Avengers from around the YouTubes comprised of Ricky from Stewdippin and Chris from Csandreas to help us break down this movie. We'll give you the stuff we absolutely loved, the stuff we think could have been improved upon, and everything in between on this Giant Size episode of the NerdSync Podcast!

Warner Bros. CEO said that their films will be "edgier" than Marvel's movies. SHOTS FIRED! Eh, not really, but it does raise a question about what DC plans to do with their movies that would make them stand out from the hugely successful Marvel films. Are Warner Bros. and DC just planning on making their movies darker and more brutal, or do they have a bigger trick up their sleeve?
We're also talking about the recent news that Batman: Arkham Knight received an M for Mature rating, signaling that the game will have a much more gruesome tone than the previous installments. With scenes depicting torture and killing innocent people, do you think this game will will take things too far, or is this perfectly appropriate for the world of the Dark Knight?

During the late 1990s, Marvel and DC merged their worlds and their together into one line of comics published under the shared Amalgam Comics imprint. This event combined their most famous heroes and villains together, creating new ones. Today, we're going to try to do the same thing!

Justice League: Throne of Atlantis is DC's latest animated film, and it centers around New 52 Aquaman. Naturally, we HAVE to talk about it! The movie retells Aquaman's origin in this new movie universe as well as adapting the Throne of Atlantis story arc from the comics. Did we love it? Did we hate it? It was definitely one of those answers, or probably some other one.

The Age of Ultron Trailer came out, and words cannot express how perfect it is!!! Scott, Chris, and Bryce talk about their favorite parts of the trailer of the upcoming Marvel movie and try to dissect the plot of the film. We're also talking about the now confirmed Civil War movie that will happen in the third Captain America movie. And there's a pretty heated debate about which side the NerdSync gang is on: Pro-registration or anti-registration!

Warner Bros. dropped some HUGE news with the announcement of the DC cinematic universe release schedule from now until 2020! The movies include Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa's Aquaman , Ezra Miller's The Flash, Dwayne Johnson's Shazam, plus solo Cyborg, Green Lantern, and Batman films as well as Suicide Squad, Man of Steel 2, and, of course, Justice League Part 1 & 2!

Set many years prior to Bruce Wayne dawning the cape and cowl, Gotham tells the origin stories and histories of some of the Caped Crusader's biggest allies and enemies. Love him or hate him, Batman is one of the most iconic superheroes of all time! With the Gotham TV series premiering tonight, Scott, Chris, and Bryce talk about their favorite aspects of Batman from the best movie, the best actor, the best villain, the best Batmobile and more. It all leads up to the big finale of what are the gang's personal all-time favorite moments of the character!
The different iterations of Batman cover a very wide spectrum, so even if you're not a fan of Batman we still think you'll enjoy this episode.

There seems to be more and more comic book movies each year, but not all of them are gems. Scott, Chris, and Bryce sit down to discuss what changes they would make to the genre in order to pump out better films! Some are broad and apply to all comic book movies like the use of costumes and soundtracks, and some are very specific to individual comic book movies like the Dark Knight Rises, Iron Man, and Thor.
