Hawaii Musicians & entertainers, Henry Kapono is wanting to help you! He has teamed up with the Kawakami Family known for their Iolani Sportswear and Foodland. Itʻs called the “We are Friends…COVID-19 Relief Program".
With the immediate loss of gigs, lessons, recording sessions concert tours and performances gone. A lot of the musicians are their own boss and a lot may not have medical insurance and unemployment to fall back on.
The relief program will provide $50,000 in Foodland gift cards to musicians, engineers, dancers and other music professionals who have been affected. More details in the interview.
Mailani is a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winning artist that comes from the Windward side of Oʻahu. She has worked over 35 years perfecting her craft as a recording artist, composer and songwriter, mentor, business woman, entrepreneur and entertainer.
At the time of this recording, much of the world is going thru COVID19. We discuss the effects of this on her and her family, her business and overall. We update on her music and how she is adapting to new conditions in her profession and how her culture, her family come into play in choosing the path that she continues to take.
