Executive Summary Gary Pinkerton returns to Gary's Gulch after a short break to explain where he's been and to deliver a message timed to America's 250th birthday. He shares three reasons for his absence: a household move, helping Patrick Donahoe relaunch Paradigm Life's podcast with a new focus on current events in real estate, the economy, and business, and a deliberate choice to let his Calvin Coolidge episode stand on its own before this one.
The heart of the episode is short and direct. Gary connects the founding spirit of the country to a personal challenge for listeners: bring grit, determination, and refusal to quit into the second half of 2026. He reads Theodore Roosevelt's "Man in the Arena" passage in full, using it to frame what it looks like to actually show up for your family, your goals, and your country rather than watching from the sidelines.
It's a brief, personal episode built for the moment, part explanation, part call to action, ahead of the Fourth of July.

Episode Highlights * [00:00:00 - 00:00:18] Gary explains why he's been away: a household move and a distracting summer. * [00:00:18 - 00:00:36] He's been helping relaunch Paradigm Life's podcast with Patrick Donahoe. * [00:00:36 - 00:00:57] The relaunched show tackles current events in real estate, the economy, and business. * [00:00:57 - 00:01:16] Why Gary wanted this Independence Day message to stand fully on its own. * [00:01:16 - 00:01:46] Gary reads Theodore Roosevelt's full "Man in the Arena" passage. * [00:01:46 - 00:01:46] Gary's closing challenge heading into the second half of 2026.
Summary Gary opens with a travel update from his five-day trip to Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, where he saw icebergs, humpback whales, and puffins, and spent time with close friends far from the noise of American politics. What he carried home was not just great memories. It was perspective. The ordinary Canadian citizens he met in small fishing towns had no interest in strife. Like Americans, they wanted to enjoy life, be around family, and build something better for the next generation. That reminder of shared Western values set the tone for everything that followed.
The core of this episode is a deep-dive into Calvin Coolidge's speech at the 150th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Gary reads key passages and draws striking parallels to the present: revolutionary anarchism, socialist and communist movements, radical labor organizations, and white supremacist groups all posed serious threats to the republic in 1926. Coolidge's response was not despair. It was a call to recommit to the founding principles, particularly the spiritual and moral bedrock on which the Declaration itself rests. Gary's message is direct: if America held together then, with arguably worse conditions and fewer tools, it can and will do so again. The 250th celebration this July is not a partisan event. It is an American one.
Key Takeaways * The ideological threats Americans face today, including anarchism, socialist ideology, and racial division, are near-identical to what Calvin Coolidge addressed in 1926, and America came through that period stronger. * Coolidge argued that the founding principles in the Declaration of Independence are final, not subject to revision, and that those who seek to revise them are moving backward, not forward. * True national unity around the 250th celebration is possible and essential, and should not be surrendered to political framing from any direction. * Removing spiritual and religious foundations from public life is a deliberate strategy to weaken America, and recognizing it is the first step to resisting it. * AI and real-time fact-checking have shifted the information balance in favor of citizens, giving genuine cause for optimism about where things are headed.

Executive Summary In this second installment of his conversation with Todd Langford, founder of TruthConcepts Calculator Software, Gary Pinkerton picks up where the previous episode left off, diving straight into the ideas that define smart financial thinking. The discussion centers on a distinction that changes everything: the difference between risk tolerance and risk mitigation. Todd explains why accepting risk as a fixed feature of investing is a flawed premise, and how building a strategy around uncertainty, rather than simply tolerating it, separates informed financial decisions from glorified gambling.
The conversation moves through practical examples. A $50,000 car traded every two years over 30 years quietly costs two or three million dollars in future wealth. A racetrack full of replica sports cars lets people experience genuine fun without the financial exposure of brand-new originals. A business startup with a slush fund can survive the inevitable cash-flow gaps that sink companies with better products but thinner reserves. Each example returns to the same point: knowing what a decision actually costs over time is the only way to make that decision with your eyes open. Todd puts it simply, "You can tell a lie in one sentence, but it takes a whole chapter to tell the truth."
The episode closes with a sharp look at how media manipulation exploits that gap between the quick headline and the complete picture. A memorable story about Houston's murder statistics, where improved trauma medicine lowered the death count while violent crime kept rising, illustrates how statistics can be technically accurate and deeply misleading at the same time. Gary and Todd explore how AI is beginning to give individuals the tools to fact-check claims in real time, while making the case that critical thinking still has to come first. The consistent theme throughout: certainty and uncertainty are not opposites. Used together, with strategy as the connector, they become the foundation of genuine financial agency.

Executive Summary In this first half of a two-part conversation, Gary Pinkerton sits down with Todd Langford, founder of TruthConcepts Financial Calculators, for a long-overdue and wide-ranging discussion about what it really means to tell the truth in financial planning. Todd has spent decades building the calculator tools that advisors like Gary and Kim Butler use to verify the math behind the concepts they teach. This episode is not about running numbers with clients. It is about making sure that the numbers you believe to be true actually are.
Gary and Todd explore why financial professionals so often repeat ideas that sound right but do not hold up under scrutiny, and why checking your premise is one of the most important habits an advisor can develop. They discuss the dangers of industry shorthand, the discomfort of discovering you have been wrong, and the confidence that comes from knowing your math has been tested from every angle. The conversation weaves through mindset, language, and the deeper philosophy of what it means to pursue truth for the sake of the clients who depend on you.
The episode also takes a broader look at conventional retirement thinking, the psychology of goals, and the power of precise language, from reframing 'I don't have time' to 'I choose not to prioritize' to understanding that the word 'retire' literally means 'to take out of service.' Part two will continue exploring the truth-based principles that Todd covers in his forthcoming book, Conscious Calculations.

Executive Summary Gary explores the intersection of faith, leadership, and inspiration in this episode, arguing that while science and physics explain much of our physical world, they fall far short of explaining the divine interventions and coincidences that shape our lives. Through personal anecdotes of miraculous escapes and timely interventions, Gary demonstrates how faith in a higher power and inspired leadership can accomplish things that seem impossible from a purely scientific perspective.
Key Takeaways * Coincidences are intentional interventions by a higher power, not random events * True leaders inspire others to access faith and power beyond themselves * Science explains the physical world but cannot account for divine intervention * Personal spiritual experiences provide more insight than pure mathematics * America's success comes from being a nation under God, not from physics alone

Episode Summary Building wealth isn't just about choosing the right investment—it's about having the right framework for decision-making.
In this episode, Gary Pinkerton and Jaden Zubal explore the financial operating system that helps investors align their money with their goals, avoid common cognitive biases, and build wealth with greater clarity and control.
They dive into the Hierarchy of Wealth, a framework that balances control and risk across different asset types. By understanding how assets fit within this hierarchy—from highly controlled assets like cash and insurance to more speculative investments—investors can build a financial structure designed to last for decades.
The conversation also addresses a surprising truth: even smart, educated people make poor financial decisions. Cognitive biases, social pressure, and increasingly AI-driven information can push investors toward choices that feel good in the moment but undermine long-term goals.
By applying the 4-3-2-1 framework, investors can filter decisions through purpose, strategy, and systems thinking—creating a financial life that supports both security and freedom.

🎙️ Episode Summary In this episode of Gary's Gulch, Gary Pinkerton shares a replay of an interview recorded while traveling — a conversation with Austin, a younger West Point graduate who has also entered the world of Infinite Banking and alternative investing.
What begins as a discussion about financial strategies quickly evolves into a deeper exploration of control, legacy, family, and purpose.
Gary reflects on his transition from commanding a U.S. Navy submarine to pursuing financial independence and helping others rethink traditional investing. After losing half of his wealth during the 2008–2009 market downturn, he began questioning the traditional approach to investing through markets and financial advisors.
That experience led him to explore real estate, Infinite Banking, and strategies centered on control rather than speculation.
Throughout the conversation, Gary shares the philosophy that drives his work today: building wealth is not just about maximizing returns — it's about protecting family, creating legacy, and maintaining personal sovereignty over financial decisions.
He also reflects on deeper motivations behind his career path, including lessons from his upbringing, his time in the military, and the realization that legacy is not what we leave to people, but what we leave inside them.
The episode also touches on current geopolitical concerns, the risks carried by military service members, and the responsibility families and citizens share in supporting those who choose to serve.
Ultimately, Gary explains how his mission today centers on helping entrepreneurs, investors, and business owners build financial systems that strengthen families and allow individuals to maintain independence and purpose.

🎙️ Episode Summary Ego is one of the most underestimated threats to leadership, business success, and personal fulfillment.
In this episode of Gary's Gulch, Gary Pinkerton sits down with real estate entrepreneur Aaron Chapman in Branson, Missouri, during preparations for upcoming investor events. What begins as a conversation about Aaron's new book and investor experiences quickly evolves into a deeper reflection on ego, humility, leadership, and faith.
Gary introduces a powerful concept: success often comes with "credit" — recognition, praise, and awards — but how leaders handle that credit determines whether they grow or eventually self-destruct.
Too much ego can break partnerships, damage marriages, disrupt teams, and create entitlement. Yet humility doesn't mean rejecting praise or refusing recognition. Instead, it requires understanding where success truly comes from and how to properly redirect credit.
Aaron shares personal stories about investing mistakes driven by ego, illiquid investments tied up in other people's ideas, and lessons learned about saying no even when capital and opportunity are available.
Together they explore the delicate balance leaders must maintain:
The conversation ultimately lands on a simple but powerful leadership principle:
Success isn't about accumulating recognition — it's about staying grounded enough to keep growing.

Episode Summary In this episode of Gary's Gulch, Gary Pinkerton shares a candid reflection on the growing misuse of artificial intelligence — and why many current applications may be creating more noise than value.
While AI holds enormous potential to eliminate repetitive work and enhance human productivity, Gary argues that it is increasingly being used in ways that waste time, weaken human communication, and replace meaningful thinking with surface-level outputs. He explains why AI should amplify human capability, not replace human judgment, creativity, or emotional intelligence.
Through real-world examples — including a client case involving estate planning and AI-generated financial misunderstandings — Gary highlights the risks of relying on AI without expertise or context.
The episode then transitions into a preview of a new educational course Gary is developing with lender Aaron Chapman, focused on building generational wealth through the strategic combination of real estate investing, infinite banking, and asset protection.
Listeners will walk away with a clearer understanding of where AI helps, where it fails, and how disciplined financial systems — not shortcuts — create lasting wealth.

Episode Summary In this episode, Gary Pinkerton reflects on a recent interview conducted for a PhD thesis on crisis leadership — and shares the real-world lessons he learned leading through high-stakes environments in the military, business, and investing.
Gary explains why true crises are often preventable through preparation, liquidity, and resilient financial structures. Drawing from submarine operations, real estate investing, and leadership experience, he breaks down how effective leaders manage uncertainty, control emotional reactions, and make clear decisions when information is incomplete.
At the center of the conversation is one powerful principle:
Bad news never gets better with time.
Listeners will learn how early communication, structured thinking, and trained decision-making processes can transform chaos into manageable action — whether in business, investing, or personal life.
This episode delivers practical frameworks for crisis response, leadership development, and building organizations that function effectively even when leaders are absent.

EPISODE SUMMARY In this deeply personal episode, Gary shares the full story behind one of the most common questions he receives: Why would a nuclear submarine commander on track for admiral leave it all to sell life insurance?
The answer isn't about career change — it's about calling.
Gary walks through pivotal life moments: growing up broke, attending the Naval Academy, commanding a submarine, losing half his wealth in the Great Recession, and realizing he had outsourced responsibility for his financial future. That wake-up call forced him to rethink everything — not just investing, but fatherhood, leadership, and legacy.
He explains how shifting from market speculation to real estate ownership and liquidity-based financial strategies changed his trajectory. He also shares how mentorship at Paradigm Life introduced him to the power of safe, liquid capital as a foundation for business growth.
Ultimately, this episode is about agency — taking control of your household first, then helping others scale their gifts through business ownership, liquidity, and intentional wealth-building.
This is not just a career story. It's a mission story.

Summary
I start the episode with a 50yo speech from Admiral Rickover, father of the Nuclear Navy about the importance of business ethics delivered just before our bicentennial that is just as relevant leading into the 250th celebration. Then I shift to break down a topic I find that most people don't understand - Whole life insurance policy loans with the Infinite Banking strategy are not magic or even special. What's special is the cash value backing it. Good rule to remember - loan interest rates simply reflect the risk. If rates are low, then the risk is really low. Life insurance companies historically offer the lowest rates anywhere because of the strength of the cash value.
Episode Highlights
00:00:14 - Misunderstanding policy loans.
00:01:17 - Frustration with misinformation in the industry.
00:01:32 - Admiral Hymen G. Rickover on America's strengths and risks.

00:05:22 - Rickover on capitalism and ethical business conduct.
00:06:14 - Business ethics vs. social responsibility.
00:07:42 - Moral legacy of America's Founding Fathers.
00:11:57 - Explaining life insurance policy cash value.
00:12:56 - Misconceptions about policy loan benefits.
00:15:00 - Concept of pooled risk in insurance.
00:15:46 - Insurance companies' resilience through black swan events.
00:20:02 - Admiral Rickover's relevance in today's ethical challenges.
00:23:20 - President Trump and America's global respect.
00:24:27 - Core message: Power of insurance comes from cash value.

In this episode I discuss the misconception that passive investing in real estate or in anything else is not a business; active participation in real estate is a business which just happens to be in the real estate industry. Gaining skills in how to run a business are incredibly beneficial to improving your Control, Mindset, Agency, and Legacy - marketing, sales, leadership, financials, taxes, innovation are truly valuable to learn and teach those that come behind you. AND they are essential to maintaining America and the world free for future generations.

2026 on Gary's Gulch podcast will be dedicated to celebrating our 250th anniversary of the Great American Experiment - If you give citizens ownership over their life, liberty and property and design a government made up of the people and working for the people, they will prosper. Business ownership is fundamental to this premise. Nearly everyone in 1776 was a business owner, there was a need in the community and someone started a business to serve that need. We've gotten away from this with the industrial revolution and globalization (someone in China fills your need via Amazon). We must get back to honoring the value of businesses. Listen in to learn what's coming in '26!

Most of my clients are confused, frustrated and frankly misled on this involved topic. Attorneys have the tendency to want to show the breadth of their knowledge and that is a big disservice to individuals trying to navigate all the options and features available in this broad topic of Trusts. This is a really important topic that many families put off unnecessarily and take big financial risk in doing so - listen in and let's take this worry off the table with concrete steps you can easily take.

Most people do very little strategic thinking about what investments they have or why they have them. They simply follow the herd or a popular investment newsletter that promises huge returns. In this episode I explain why residential rental properties are a cornerstone of my investment strategy and why I recommend you consider them as well. I get into specifically why I support these investments with infinite banking or family banking life insurance policies and show a couple of examples of the financial impact of doing so.

I constantly get questions and push-back on holding so much of my client's net worth as liquidity in their Hierarchy of Wealth's Tier 1 foundation layer. This episode digs into things we've heard like Cash is Trash so that business owners, real estate investors and those managing their family finances can put into perspective the value of liquidity and looking holistically at their Return on Wealth, not just microscopically at one investment they made or another. Bottom line - liquidity is king, it is food for the racehorse, and if you are seeking greater agency in your life then You are that horse!

One of my heroes and a great Patriot, Dan Bongino would ask this repeatedly on his podcast and radio show before he accepted the position as 2nd in charge at the FBI. When people constantly endured incremental losses of freedom and agency, he would point out that is simply wasn't bad enough for them to put a stop to it yet. How do we avoid this cycle of pain and change beforehand? I've got some thoughts, listen in!

This episode summarizing what I and Gary's Gulch podcast are about was inspired by my client and friend Glenn. Inspired by Chat GPT's feedback on what Agency and Gary's Gulch are all about, I discuss in detail what agency is and how to stop denying yourself today to save out of fear of retirement. I'm certain God thinks you can do both, and it is my life's mission to be the guide that helps you achieve a life of prosperity both today and in retirement.

In this episode, I discuss the tools available in 2025 and for the next few years that allow business owners and high-earning W2 earners to eliminate the very destructive higher tax brackets without taking risk that you lose all the investment. Listen in to hear how reducing taxes is achievable with lower risk strategies in Hierarchy of Wealth Tier 2 - things you directly control.

Those in our government and corporate media would have you believe Tariffs are an act of war and recipe to destroy the American economy and way of life. They pretend that tariffs were not used before or that they were not what fueled our country for 150 years before we created income taxes. They're intentionally leading you astray. Under President Trump's approach we've already seen success with the best economy in the month of May in the last 30 years. Trillions of dollars of foreign country investment in the US. You can use the same principals and tools in your own personal economy - listen in to find out how.

ent actions and their impact on the economy. Individuals look at the reconciliation act called the One Big Beautiful Bill act (OBBB) and that it cuts potentially $4.5T in revenue over the next 5 years and they determine that means our debt will go up by that amount. President Trump is using leadership tools to move our economy in the opposite direction. Specifically he's spurring significantly greater production domestically while simultaneously bringing in revenue from outside the country, specifically massive investment and tariffs. Tariffs are how we funded our country to be #1 in the world for its first 100 years and it will work again. He brought in $10T of investment commitments in one foreign trip this month. Give Trump some time to show the benefits of 'The Art of the Deal' and you will see the USA flourish as it did in the 19th century. MAGA!

Exceptional teams excel because they critically review even their best performances to see what wasn't perfect that they could learn from and do better on the next time. I describe two ways to look at using your current resources or advantages you have to pivot your personal life, your business, or both. First is reflection on Darren Hardy's recent Darren Daily episode on Time-Money-Wealth and using 2 of the 3 to obtain the other one. The second is similar and forms the backbone of our strategy at Paradigm Life: Cash Flow-Protection-Wealth. These three must all be in place in the end to ensure success, but you can use two of the three to achieve the desired result. However, history shows in most cases you cannot successfully use just one to get all three.

I lay out why it is vital to influence those in your circle to vote for freedom over tyranny. This is likely the last time we will get to vote if tyranny takes power in 2025. Please, lay down your reservations about specific issues or mannerisms, this is a simple fight for world freedom over tyranny. We need help from sane Americans to preserve freedom here and across the globe, and to prevent World War III. I also talk about changes you can make in your life, a simple shift in focus that can provide guaranteed returns and propel you towards Agency.

Agency, the ability to live life on your terms, is the product of financial knowledge and cash flowing assets. Most people focus on real estate when seeking cash flow, and while effective, it is extremely slow to achieve. Business cash flow can be and for centuries has been a much faster method and enables agency at a far greater scale than real estate can achieve alone. True agency requires betting on the Number 1 asset, YOU...and a business is a more direct reflection of your value than is your rental property.

Agency is the ability to live life on your terms, to make your own independent and FREE decisions. That requires you to have enduring financial resources so you are not dependent on the government for entitlements... Which is where their control comes from. Enduring CF comes from your continued value through products and services to your people. If you are not acting in alignment with your real self, they will know it and be repelled. Be the real you and speak your real truths!

A bit of a fun play on phrases, my message here is that the key to growing Agency and preserving freedom in America and the world is to focus on your life and your talents and Master them. Spend less time on the lives of others and more perfecting and sharing your craft, your business with the world. If you're a master at your craft, then you have unlimited power to the Agency, and therefore you don't need handouts and entitlements, AND the government has no power over you. Thus the incredible 250 year experiment is safe, we will remain a free people and a beacon of light for the world to follow.

Robert Kiyosaki famously put in his book Rich Dad, Poor Dad that your home is a liability, not an asset. He did a great service for those families that struggle with consumption and not saving for retirement, he woke them up. The financially savvy though know better - in a world where fiat currency inflation is the rule, owning the hard asset that you live in is vital to long term wealth. I took a few minutes with the CEO of Paradigm Life and my mentor, Patrick Donohoe, during a packed week of working with business owners at the Money Is Mastermind in FL to discuss new features we've released for our clients to help them grow the Agency and achieve their financial dreams.
Who’s the Guest? Patrick Donohoe founded Paradigm Life in 2007 and, like many during the 2008-2009 financial crisis, learned firsthand about the unpredictability of the business environment and economy. That period tested him but also shaped him. Amidst the struggle, he worked tirelessly, providing consultations and webinars to help people navigate the financial storm. This journey compelled Patrick to write “Heads I Win Tails You Lose – A Financial Strategy to Reignite the American Dream” in 2018.
