Rachel Tabb has had good style since middle school, which is something I definitely can't say for myself. She's always looked like a supermodel straight out of the 90s with a perfectly polished and minimalist wardrobe that would give Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy a run for her money. Today, that style is the capstone of her vintage business, Shop RLT, a store in Los Angeles filled with her curation of vintage finds from eBay, to the Rosebowl, and beyond. From denim to tees, vintage YSL and more, RLT has quickly become my favorite vintage store in LA for its edit of everyday clothing that I can have for a lifetime. In today's episode, Rachel shares how to build a successful business on Instagram, how she learned to trust her style and taste, and her thoughts on the ever-changing retail landscape.

Zoe Lister-Jones is an actor, writer, director, and producer, and personally, a girl crush. You've seen her in How It Ends, A Good Person, and the first episode of her new show (also written, directed, and starred in by her) Slip, aired over the weekend. It's a show where her character transports to parallel universes through orgasm - it's whitty, sharp, and too much fun. She's also a bonafide style star for her eclectic and vintage style, from matching Markarian suits to bold collars, bows and more. In this episode, Zoe and I talk about our obsession with parallel universes, how she uses fashion to find new versions of herself, and her most prized possession in her closet.    Catch Slip now on Roku.    Love the show? Jenna Lyons is nothing short of an icon. Fun fact, she’s actually the reason I got into fashion. From a young age, I was obsessed with her perspective on personal style. It was a blend of highs and lows - a Schiaparelli skirt with a button down top, or a feather skirt paired with denim - that defied what was the fashion “norm” and made you feel like hey, anything goes. It’s that ethos that has been the foundation of the way I dress and what I try to share through my platforms. If you love it, wear it. Take up all the space. So needless to say, this was a bucket list moment. Jenna is one of the most recognizable faces in fashion. She started at J. Crew as an assistant and blazed her way through to the top, building a 27 year career that made her the face of the brand and dubbed the “woman who dressed America” by the New York Times. Since leaving J. Crew, she’s founded LoveSeen, an eyelash extension company, and is about to grace our television screens as a newly announced member of the next season of The Real Housewives of New York City. In this episode, I talk Jenna about redefining beauty, her thoughts on the fashion industry today, and her unexpected new chapter. Shop LoveSeen here https://loveseen.com Love the show? Pastry chef turned beauty entrepreneur, Kate McLeod knows a thing or two about good ingredients. During her days in the kitchen, Kate suffered from dry skin, leading her to one day try cocoa butter as a last salve. The results were transformational. But cocoa butter is rock hard in its natural state, and Kate wondered if she could make it easier to apply without diluting its raw power as a solid. So was born her best-selling Body Stone. The Kate McLeod Body Stones are the first of its kind and soften on warm, dry skin. They glide on like silk melt and absorb, leaving skin soft, supple, and glowing. With only cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, and fractionated coconut oil, it’s no wonder it’s become a cult favorite, being seen on Naomi Watt’s ITG Top Shelf and flying off the shelves at Sephora. In this episode, Kate and I talk about building a hero product and defining your niche, how she pivoted from baking to beauty, and what it took to build a beauty brand that caught Sephora’s eye. If you’re not in fashion, Fashion Month can seem a bit overwhelming. I often get asked - can I buy that look right now? When will that style be available? Or why didn’t that runway piece make it to stores? Well, there’s a big business behind runway shows - it fuels the fashion industry forward, sets trends for the seasons ahead, and allows fashion buyers to decide what makes it from the runway to our closets. So today we’re answering all of your questions with one of the best buyers in the industry, Tiffany Hsu, who’s the Vice President of Womenswear and Kidswear Buying at Mytheresa. (If you follow me on IG, you know Mytheresa is my ultimate retailer of choice - there’s just no better buy if you’re looking for the best pieces in fashion!). As a buyer, she’s tasked with traveling the world and looking at every designer’s collection, understanding the Mytheresa customer intimately, and knowing exactly what styles and how much of them to buy so that retailers and designers make a profit when it hits the stores six months later. She’s basically a fashion psychic. However, buying is a big numbers game, so for all my listeners looking for a numbers based job in fashion, listen up! In this episode, Tiffany and I talk about what goes on behind the scenes during fashion week, how she's learned what her clients want, and the trends she’s loving right now. I often talk about the necessity for community. No matter what you do, where you work, finding your people and keeping them close is one of the most important lessons I’ve learned as someone in the fashion industry. One of my people is Danielle Prescod. She instantly became someone who felt like a security blanket for me - at a work event where maybe I didn’t know anyone, fashion weeks, whatever it was, if she was there, all was good in my world. Danielle is a 15-year fashion industry veteran - she’s worked at InStyle, Elle, BET, and is someone I often turn to for her razor-sharp and unapologetic perspective of the industry. But last year, she said goodbye to the fashion industry and moved to New Orleans where she penned her first book, Token Black Girl, a memoir about her experiences growing up Black in a predominately white neighborhood, and the experiences that followed her into her teen years, college years, and into the halls of some of the most well known magazines in the world. It’s a harsh look into the white supremacy in media and her personal story of recovering from years of striving for perfection, a loss of identity, and living in a world where she never truly felt accepted. In today’s episode, we talk about the moments that led Danielle to write Token Black Girl, how she turned her experiences into output, and how the fashion industry needs to do better. I’ll never forget the first time I saw a Pantene ad. The silky, luscious, and thick hair on the models couldn’t be more different from my own hair, but instantly became an ideal of what society considered beautiful. It carried me through the many emotional stages of my hair - extensions, the post breakup chop, multiple colors (who can relate?) - all to achieve that bounce that could be seen from a mile away. But as a now 28-year-old, I've figured out the most essential truth when it comes to hair - less is more. Diana Cohen’s Crown Affair is leading that message, disrupting the haircare industry that has notoriously sold chemical-based products and damaging styles with simple products, clean ingredients, and routines and rituals that nourish your hair from within. The Crown Affair Hair Oil has landed on every best-seller list, even catching the eye of the brand's newest investor Gwyneth Paltrow, and the brand is a bestseller at Goop and Sephora. In this episode, Diana shares her experience navigating the haircare industry, her own routines, and how she’s built a community around self-care. In honor of NYFW in full swing, we’re bringing back one of our most beloved episodes with the one and only Christopher John Rogers. This episode was recorded in September 2019. If you Google the name Christopher John Rogers, a slew of articles will come up with all the same title: "Meet Christopher John Rogers, Fashion's Next Big Thing." At just 25-years-old, Christopher is one of the youngest break-out designers on the fashion scene. Although he made his Fashion Week debut just a month ago, Christopher has garnered industry-wide acclaim through his unapologetically joyful and colorful designs. His collection was met with a standing ovation and rave reviews from Vogue, WWD, and more. He was a 2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist, and his clothes have been worn by Michelle Obama, Rihanna, SZA, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Cardi B. In this episode, Christopher and I talk about creating glamour in a not-so-glamorous world, representation in the fashion industry, and how a Baton Rogue-born designer plans to make it big in the Big Apple.

When Lara Adekoya started baking during lockdown last year, she had no idea she would quickly become the cookie queen of Los Angeles. The 28-year-old baker is the founder of Fleurs et Sel, a baked goods company that releases locally in small batches, and sells out in under five minutes. After being laid off from her job as a top salesperson at Nordstrom, Lara began baking cookies and delivering them to her friends and clients around town. What was initially a fun way to spread love during tough times quickly drew lines of fans to her at-home bakery. The demand for Fleur et Sels has catapulted her to culinary success - she’s hosted pop ups at The Palisades Village and The Grove, which the legendary Mindy Weiss (who happens to be one of her old clients!) helped produce and promote, provides cookies for Netflix sets, was just featured on Good Morning America, and is only just beginning. In this episode, Lara gives us the key takeaways from her entrepreneurial journey, from maintaining relationships to customer service lessons, and how she turned her passion into a thriving business. If you’ve been on social media in the past year, chances are you’ve been sent a Jordan Firstman skit. Hilary Sheinbaum is a writer who’s contributed to publications like The New York Times, Marie Claire, New York Magazine, Forbes, and more. This week, she released her first book, The Dry Challenge: How to Loose The Booze for Dry January, Sober October, and Any Other Alcohol-Free Month, an exploration of the incredible life-changing benefits of abstaining from alcohol for one month. In 2017, Hilary and a friend waged a bet: whoever could complete Dry January would win a free dinner to any restaurant of their choice in New York City. Hilary won, and not only did she feel completely different, but she was instantly inspired to spread the word about her experience. The book, which acts more like a guidebook, provides a comprehensive plan to help you tackle Dry January, Sober October, and other booze-free challenges. Whether you’re thinking of participating in Dry January, Sober October, or want to choose a time of your own, this book walks you step-by-step through one drink-free month, from making a plan to sharing the news with friends and family (and what to do when someone tries to sabotage it) to getting back on track if you slip up and have a drink (or two). In this episode, Hilary tells us about the physical, emotional, and financial impacts of taking a month off of alcohol, what we can expect from her first book, and how this year’s Dry January will be different than any before. What do actress Sarah Ramos (Parenthood, The Affair) and writer/comedian Caroline Goldfarb (The Late Late Show with James Corden, Alone Together) have in common? They’re hysterical, devoted pop culture enthusiasts, best friends, and recently launched a podcast series called THE RENNER FILES. THE RENNER FILES, created, hosted and produced by the duo, is a new kind of true crime podcast - one that’s not a true crime at all. Instead, it’s about Jeremy Renner’s app. Why did Oscar nominated actor Jeremy Renner ever have an app? Why did he do it? Who made it? Who used it? And why did it shake the internet to its core? They set out to investigate the mystery of the app, but got so much more in return. THE RENNER FILES lays out a thrilling timeline of the app’s rise and fall through talking head interviews with key players, journalists, and unexpected Renner experts (like actor Seth Rogen). But it also tells a larger story: one about the dangerous side of celebrity fandom, the ethics of audience exploitation, the celebrity influencer complex, and the destructive power of ironic internet comedy. In this episode, we talked about their fan-filled childhoods, from Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen cruises to NSYNC concerts, to navigating the entertainment industry, and a behind the scenes look at what went into creating one of the mosts provocative podcasts out there right now. Starting September 24th, an episode of THE RENNER FILES will be released weekly on Thursdays for six weeks. She’s been covered in publications like Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Grazia, Who What Wear, Refinery 29, and is a street style staple around the world for her chameleon-like style that shows her dressed up like a princess one day and in all black the next. If her covetable fashion sensibility wasn't enough, her YouTube HIIT workouts went viral ( it will change your life and kill your abs, trust us), and keeps her travelers wondering where she’s going next on her 300 travel days per year. But it’s her unwavering sense of self, goofy energy, and down-to-earth mentality that makes her one of the most popular talents on Instagram. In this episode, Caro tells us about her journey from a small village in Germany to having a collaboration with Mac Cosmetics, how she’s used social media as a form of self-reflection, and an exciting, out-of-the-box, next step in her career.

GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, and performer Maggie Rogers joins us to discuss her journey from a small town singer/songwriter to global pop stardom. Just three years ago, Maggie performed her NYU senior thesis, which we now know and love as her hit song “Alaska” for Pharrell during a master class, and the video went viral. The Maryland-born artist signed with Capitol Records and has since released an EP, Now That The Light Is Fading, and last year she debuted her first record, Heard It In A Past Life. The album landed at #2 on the Billboard charts, and the record’s tour included headliner stops at Coachella and Lollapalooza, two nights at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, and a performance on SNL. She’s received praise from the likes of Pitchfork, NPR, and Vogue, was placed on the TIME 100 NEXT 2019 List, the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and just received her first GRAMMY nomination for Best New Artist. Maggie’s songs have surpassed 650 million streams globally, and her music has built a cult following of loyal fans who she says if they weren't her fans, they’d be “people she’d be at the same house party as.” In this episode, Maggie talks about finding life after touring, gives us her masterclass on navigating the entertainment industry, and why her next business move might not be what we think.

At just 28-years-old, Lindsay Peoples Wagner is the youngest Editor-in-Chief at any major publication. After spending time at Teen Vogue as an intern, Style.com, and the Cut, Lindsay established her voice in the industry - tackling race, culture, and politics through fashions lens. In September 2018, she penned Everywhere and Nowhere: What it's really like to be black and work in fashion, an expose on the fashion industry with over 150 testimonials from people of color from designers, assistants, models, and more that highlighted the abuse of black culture as a marketing tool, while simultaneously rejecting black people within the industry opportunities. Now she's bringing her voice to Teen Vogue where she's leveraging her position to create space for inclusive, diverse, and important conversations for the next generation.

In this episode, we go behind the scenes of Lindsay Peoples Wagner's Teen Vogue, from some of her favorite moments, to their 3rd annual Acne Awards, to covers with talent like Serena Williams and Naomi Wadler, Millie Bobbie Brown, and Lil Nas X.
