This weeks episode we got to talk Ice hockey with NSA Coach John Kennedy Jr. We talked about the process of getting involved with Ice Hockey here in Newcastle and also for juniors to get involved with the National Academy program. If you would like to know more please see the links below.
About NSA National Sport Academy (NSA) Hockey is an ice hockey development academy that provides hockey camps, skill development and leagues for players of all ages and skill levels. With almost 7 decades of ice hockey playing and coaching experience, NSA coaches take pride in being the elite ice hockey academy in Australia. NSA strives to develop and increase each players level of skill every time they participate in a session. Established in 2013, NSA directors Dave Ferrari, John F. Kennedy, and Mat Lindsay have set out to be pioneers in the industry, not conforming to the norm and instead, believing that they can provide more for the game of ice hockey in Australia. All three coaches have played and won at the AIHL (National) level and have North American experience in coaching and/or playing. When stepping on the ice for an NSA session, players can expect an electric environment where they can be pushed out of their comfort zones, try new things, and enjoy every bit of it. NSA believes in “Engineering Athletes” which is more than looking at the 'how' to improve players on ice performance but also, and more importantly, the 'why'. The 'why' means we look at teaching our players why a certain skill is relevant to their on ice/off-ice performance. We are also passionate about building character and leadership to be outstanding citizens away from the rink.
