Katie & Cairo are joined by Ashley Janke, the Program & Education Coordinator at Wrightwood 659, and Philip Tarlow, a painter and Tsarouchis' 'American Protégé', to discuss Tsarouchis' life, works, and Tarlow's experiences with his late mentor & friend.
This episode is in collaboration with Wrightwood 659 for their current exhibit, Yannis Tsarouchis: Dancing in Real Life. The exhibit is the first U.S. exhibition of Tsarouchis' work and is on display at Wrightwood 659 until July 31st.

Anthony Roberts is a poet, educator, and veteran. A graduate of The New School in New York City with a Masters of Fine Arts, he has taught at Fairleigh Dickinson University. His poetry has been published in Southerly Literary Journal, The Other Voices Poetry Anthology, and Vox Poetica among others and has been translated into Persian, Italian, Bengali, and Czech. His first book, the Pushcart Prize nominated Pigtown, was published in 2017 by Red Dashboard Publications and was selected by Old Dominion University for inclusion in their writing program.

Sebastian Matzner is Senior Lecturer in Comparative Literature and Director of Queer@King’s (Centre for Research and Teaching in Gender and Sexuality Studies) at King’s College London. Trained in both Classics and Comparative Literature, his research focuses on interactions between ancient and modern literature and thought, especially in the fields of poetics and rhetoric, literary and critical theory, traditions of classicism, the history of sexualities, and LGBTQ studies. Aside from articles and book chapters on a range of topics in these fields, he is the author of Rethinking Metonymy: Literary Theory and Poetic Practice from Pindar to Jakobson(Oxford University Press, 2016, pb 2019) as well as co-editor of Complex Inferiorities: The Poetics of the Weaker Voice in Latin Literature (Oxford University Press, 2018; with S. Harrison) and Metalepsis: Ancient Texts, New Perspectives (Oxford University Press, 2020; with G. Trimble). He is a member of the “Young Academy” at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and the Humanities/Leopoldina National Academy (2017–2022) and joint Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of the Classical Tradition as well as Associate Editor of the Classical Receptions Journal.
