The top three reasons you may be getting FRIENDZONED are:

Agreeableness, availability, and accessibility can potentially decrease attraction in dating due to various reasons:

  1. Agreeableness: While being agreeable is generally seen as positive, excessive agreeableness can sometimes be perceived as lacking individuality or assertiveness, which may reduce attraction. Dr. David Buss, a prominent evolutionary psychologist, suggests that this perspective is rooted in evolutionary theory, which proposes that certain traits and behaviors have been favored by natural selection due to their reproductive advantages. In this context, assertiveness may be seen as a signal of confidence, social dominance, and the ability to protect and provide for a potential mate and offspring.

  2. Availability: When someone is too readily available and constantly accessible, it can create a sense of predictability and diminish the excitement or chase that often fuels attraction.

  3. Accessibility: If someone is always easily accessible and does not create a sense of mystery or occasional unavailability, it can lead to complacency and reduce the perceived value or desirability.

It's important to note that these factors may not universally apply to everyone, as individual preferences and circumstances can vary. Communication and finding a balance between these traits can help maintain attraction in dating.

In tune last week's episode, I'd like to encourage everyone to be mindful in how they approach making assumptions about their date and instead of writing them off as red flags, get curious about what you see and label the behavior.

On this week's episode of the podcast, I am joined by Samantha Graham, cohost of Where's Our Participation Trophy podcast, to talk about modern dating from the lens of attachment theory.

The title of this podcast comes from viral videos and memes on the internet which can feel confusing for daters in the modern world being told that the right person would be able to read your mind and just give you everything you need, without being asked. Sam and I dig into what is behind this overused phrase that perpetuates the toxic "throw away" culture of modern dating.

On this week's episode, I walk you through 10 signs that your date or partner may have an anxious attachment style. Attachment theory research has been evolving since the last 60s and I discovered its impact in my life about five years ago.

After a couple of bad breakups in 2017, I decided to make a change and took ownership of my role in the ending of those relationships. I sought out a counselor and began to interview experts in relationship theory and practice on this podcast. Tune in today to learn how to spot an anxiously attached date while learning tools to grow through this lens of self-awareness.

Previously on the podcast, Talia and I dug in to attachment styles, masculine and feminine energy dynamics and so much more. This time around, I asked three questions that are most common in our community of authentic daters.

Why do you attract emotionally unavailable people?

On this week's episode of the podcast, I am joined by Samantha Graham, cohost of Where's Our Participation Trophy podcast, to talk about modern dating from the lens of attachment theory.

The title of this podcast comes from viral videos and memes on the internet which can feel confusing for daters in the modern world being told that the right person would be able to read your mind and just give you everything you need, without being asked. Sam and I dig into what is behind this overused phrase that perpetuates the toxic "throw away" culture of modern dating.

On this week's episode, I am joined by real life dater Natalie Bell, from Cleveland, Ohio, to discuss how to shoot your shot on social media in a way that works to get you a first date; even if the person does not live near you. Natalie believes that fear of being judged and not liked is what holds people back in dating and relationships and we dig into the limiting beliefs we carry with us from our past.

After a long term relationship that ended, Natalie set out to heal and learn more about herself as she put herself back out there, began to improve her life and put herself first. Since then, she has seen more excitement in her dating life and has learned more about herself as a result.

On this week's episode of the podcast, I wanted to answer some great questions submitted by our audience. Subscribe to the podcast and tune in next week as I begin a new series on First Dates with returning guests Dr. Morgan Anderson and Nicole Kay plus real life dater Becky.

The questions I address on today's episode are the following:

  1. When dating online over 35, what are some recommended sites and what are some key things to think about when building a profile?
  2. Can anyone really find a life partner on Tiktok?
  3. How does anyone learn to communicate on an emotional level with an avoidant? We both are familiar with our attachment styles, is there hope?
  4. What's your opinion on paid dating sites versus free sites and apps? Any preference one way or another? Any experiences you want to share?

Submit your questions to be answered on a future episode on Tiktok, Instagram or by email riseup@fitlifechampions.com

On this week's episode, I lay out ten things to look out for on a first date that can tell you that your date has an avoidant attachment style.  In tune last week's episode, I'd like to encourage everyone to be mindful in how they approach making assumptions about their date and instead of writing them off as red flags, get curious about what you see and label the behavior.

If you're looking for more support in your relationship right now, I have two spots available in our private group coaching program that meets every Monday at 7 pm mst.  This is a safe space to ask me anything, connect with other women and learn more about self-awareness through attachment styles and The Enneagram.  Click here to try it free for a week.

On this week's episode of the podcast, Dave is back with a solo share of a story from his dating life. Showing up authentically on a date isn't always easy and when two strangers meet, there is bound to be a collision of their pasts.

The Dave Glaser Podcast is for partnered and single adults looking to understand relationships through the lens of The Enneagram, attachment theory, self-awareness and personal growth. If you're like me, you're overwhelmed with all the choices available to you and the mixed signals that you receive are hard to navigate.

A few years ago, I was in the same place so I sought out relationship experts and real life daters to guide you to understand how to navigate the dating "scene" where texting, social media and dating apps are ways that people connect and communicate in the modern world.

On this week's episode of the podcast, I am joined by Charlotte Warren to talk all things ghosting in the modern dating era. What is ghosting? We dig into the timeline of when ghosting is acceptable and when it's not at all justifiable.

If you're single in 2022, you've been ghosted. You may have even done some ghosting yourself. Hell, I have experienced both and today we get clear on what the definition of ghosting really is. Charlotte and I even expand on a few questions submitted by our audience members. Here they are:

  1. A definition. I see this term used so often and it seems to mean different things to all.
  2. Why (would someone ghost)?
  3. Where did this trend come from? Is it a lack of accountability in dating?
  4. What do we do to recover from the shock and heartache?
  5. When is ghosting a YOU problem?

On this week's episode, I welcome back Dr. Carrie Johansson to speak with me about psychological flexibility, modern marriage and what to look for on a first date.  We both believe that fear and anxiety hold people back in relationships and I cannot thank Dr. Carrie enough for joining me to provide a reflection for me about my recent break up.

We dig into so many awesome topics on this podcast and here are a few of the biggest takeaways:

Psychological flexibility is the ability to notice the things around you while putting less weight to it.

Spinning in outrage keeps you in the stance of the victim.

A lot of modern daters want everything to move quickly and the point of a first date is to determine if you want a second.

If Dr. Carrie's message resonates with you today, please listen to her previous episode and reach out to her via her website at selfhelponthego.com and pick up a copy of her new book!

On today's episode, I talk about the core limiting beliefs I saw in myself and my clients when I first began coaching as a personal trainer.  As I grew, so did my awareness of how the core limiting belief of "I am not worthy" was showing up in every area of my life and relationships.  By discussing how I failed my way to being a success, I want to illustrate that your self-worth is not tied to your decisions or mistakes.

Libby Cole, owner of Expand Coaching and Consulting and an Enneagram 8w7, joins me on the podcast to talk about her experience as The Challenger personality type. She has learned through her life and business experience that Challengers who are women are often times the most misunderstood Enneagram type.

Libby wants to set the record straight that female 8s can be soft, influential, and great leaders all at the same time! I couldn’t agree more that she shows up with empathy, sensitivity, and a lot of fire for her mission in life.

Libby’s background professionally was mostly higher education before taking the leap to become a business owner and empowering herself to lead others through Enneagram coaching.

Libby believes that misunderstanding and miscommunication is what holds people back in relationships. In her words, “When people begin to learn more about themselves, they can also be more understanding of others. This is a beautiful outcome of learning the Enneagram, the awareness that there are 8 other ways of approaching something. It can also give you permission to step into your true, authentic self without apology.”

On this week's episode of The Challenger Podcast, we welcome Jordan Pendleton an "Observer", type 5, on the Enneagram.

When I feel a lot of stress, I resemble the tendencies of a five a lot!  Especially when she said, "5s have a lot of thoughts about their feelings."  We also discuss numbing out with all kinds of vices, having a scarcity mindset, and how we each deal with grief.

This was a timely conversation for us, as we had just seen each other at a memorial service for a friend, giving us the chance to process our grief and sadness.  So many amazing nuggets of wisdom from Jordan in today's episode, digging into the amazing attributes of the type 5, also known as the Investigator or Observer.

On today's episode, I discuss how the challenger personality type becomes solidified within us and often times, that is as a result of an instance of trauma or repeated trauma in our formative years.  I alert you with a heads up at the time during the episode where you may want to fast forward.  We will dive deep into the enneagram, attachment styles, and self-leadership to learn more about what our anger is trying to teach us throughout the episode and it will be confronting, I promise.

The challenger personality type on the Enneagram reacts first with anger, as do the 9 and the 1, as they are part of the body feeling triad.  Over the past few years, it has been part of my journey to get in touch with that anger to understand more clearly what is lying beneath it.  I also answer our audience members' questions of how to recognize and display a clean version of our anger so that we can form deeper and more intimate relationships without blowing our lids!

On today's episode, I will share what I've learned through my own embodiment practices and how they relate to The Enneagram, attachment styles, and self-leadership.  As a challenger on the Enneagram, I tend to lean towards more intense activities that teach me how to embody strength, confidence, humility, and direction in my life.

If you say someone embodies patience, you may see them pausing before they respond to you in ALL situations, no matter their emotional state. If you say that someone is present in the moment, you may see them joking or laughing with the group or supporting one person off to the side, speaking softly as they comfort them through a difficult time. If you say that someone is the embodiment of a quality, you may mean that that is their most noticeable characteristic or the basis of all they do.

On today's episode, I will walk you through how I learned that I needed to show more empathy for others and the journey I've been on since.  What is empathy?  There are three types of empathy: cognitive, emotional, and when you combine the two... compassionate.

It took a series of tough life experiences to show me that I could communicate with empathy in a more compassionate way.  In today's episode, I dig deeper into empathy with a Maya Angelou quote to exemplify this, "Do the best you can until you know better.  Once you know better, do better."

On this week’s episode of the podcast, Dr. Sheva Assar and I discussed how social media plays a big part in today's modern dating. We ask a question submitted by our audience, “What are some red flags to look out for when we are vetting our dates we met online?”  This episode is for both educational and entertainment purposes as we laughed and laughed at a couple stories from my dating history; including the one time I got engaged on Facebook before proposing! "I'm sorry Dave, did you say engaged on Facebook?" It just might have been my first experience with an activated anxious attachment and a trauma bond for me.   Dr. Sheva and I also discuss setting healthy boundaries around social media use and what we can do to reduce our use to improve our self-esteem and confidence! On this week’s episode of the podcast, Morgan Wade and I discussed how the body holds onto memories in “trauma knots”. Morgan, a Focalizing Practitioner, believes that healing is a return to wholeness for us all.  We ask the question, “What is change?” and want to remind you that when we change, our relationship dynamics change as well. My biggest takeaway from our conversation is that “whatever is coming up within us, is coming up for us”.  To me, that means that the only way out is through the emotions and experiences that caused the hurt.

Our conversation led us into a story from my parenting experience where my daughter Madison told me “Don’t ever shake a baby!” That's good advice.  Morgan and I had the opportunity to discuss how attachments with our caregivers form in childhood to inform our adult relationships. We close out the episode with some scenarios where a parent can create a safe space for their child to form a secure attachment!

Would you agree that social media comes into play every day whether you’re dating, in a relationship, or single? On today’s episode, we are joined by Karl Sona and we dive deep into how to live publicly on social media while dating amidst a pandemic.

Karl opens up about his relationship and how living publicly on social media can come with some unwanted negative energy from followers and trolls. My biggest takeaway from our conversation is that as your influence grows, so does your responsibility to be a leader in every area of your life.

Karl Sona’s mission in life is to educate and empower black leaders to make a lasting impact through their personal and professional missions! We take a break from the heavy hitting conversation to learn more about his passion project and podcast, Dear Black CEO. His platform comes from taking huge leaps in his professional life that brought him to Denver almost three years ago.

Just over a year ago, that’s when he met his partner Julia while playing basketball in Washington Park outside of downtown Denver. His vibe that day was authentic and his intention was to get a daily reset outside shooting hoops.

Joining me this week on the podcast are Leanna, type 7, and Jared, type 2, from the Hello and Goodbye Podcast. We share the passion for what the Enneagram, attachment theory, and consciousness can bring to relationships.

We dig deep into how our parents grow up once the kids leave the nest, what it takes to make a relationship work, and what it means to earn security in a relationship. Today’s episode is one of my favorites so far because I get the chance to speak with two REAL people sharing their lives on their podcast.

The Hello and Goodbye podcast began because Leanna’s physical therapist encouraged her to share her funny dating stories publicly.   She later gave Jared a tryout as cohost on the podcast and the rest is history! If you liked their message today, please connect with Leanna and Jared on Instagram @helloandgoodbyepodcast or on all major podcast platforms!

I'm not new to the singles scene. For three years, I have been digging deep and peeling back the layers of my relationship story while surrounding myself with as many positive and uplifting people I possibly could through the podcast. If I were to have someone tell me point blank, "How to become exclusive" with someone I liked, I would have laughed out loud.

It sounds so simple. You like someone, you tell them so and you're exclusive, right? Almost. Not quite. Consider that everyone has a breakup story the found transformational at one point in their life. That's me. Broken and at a turning point in my life three years ago so I set out on a personal mission to uncover how my past traumas and experiences impact my relationships today.

And on today's episode, I share with you three things to be mindful of when becoming exclusive with someone (casually, spoken for, exclusive, or any level or relationship) while dating in the modern world; ie. texting, online dating, and ghosting for starters.

Those three steps are:

  1. Be clear about what you want

  2. Be clear about what you don't want

  3. What does healthy communication look like to you?

On today’s episode, I am joined by Sierra Melcher all the way from Medellin, Columbia. She believes that when people are held back in their relationships, it is because they are not quite sure who they are because they spend so much time trying to be the “right” kind of self or desirable. During our conversation, Sierra and I compare travel and dating as a metaphor that I think you will enjoy! “It isn’t about the destination so much as it is about the journey together.”  Sierra’s mission is to support women to discover and deepen the relationship with themselves so that she can know what she wants and have the courage to pursue it. She calls it attuning to the “inner author-ity” to really be the author of her own life. As we talked during our interview, Sierra described love as, “Deeply investing in your own and someone else’s spiritual growth” and I truly enjoyed that perspective. Sierra hosts weekly women’s circles as well as a weekly podcast called Integral Women Soundbites, so if her message resonates with you today, please connect with her via her website – integral-women.com on Instagram – integralwomenmentoring or on Facebook – IntegralWomenHeartSisters If you have a question for Dave regarding your own relationship, please connect with him via email at believeberealbebold@gmail.com and he will reach out as soon as possible!  Don't miss the 8 ways you can socialize and date from home by The Center for Shared Insight!

On today's episode, we welcome back Shawntres Parks from Couples Learn.  We went live on Facebook recently to follow up on our previous episode, Your Needs or You're Needy, which aired a couple months ago!  Since shelter in place orders occurred in LA first, we wanted to go deeper into attachment styles and their responses to the stress of the Coronavirus and quarantining with a partner!

When our worlds were turned upside down about a month ago and we were encouraged to shelter in place, new couples faced an immediate need to make a choice in their relationship: shelter in place together or take the isolation route.  This could place new and existing couples without a strong foundation to their relationship under the microscope to show where the weak points live.  Tune in to the full interview and if her message resonates with you, connect with Shawntres at coupleslearn.com or on Instagram @sparks_therapist

Suzanne Muller is a huge supporter of the podcast and we absolutely love having her at live events and as an expert guest. I also believe that it is perfectly normal to find yourselves grieving during this time as it is understandable that a major crisis or trauma would lead you through the Five Stages of Grief, which I dive into today.  Who knew this pandemic was coming?  I certainly didn't anticipate this current experience to change my career, my relationships, and my mindset.

Like me, Bryan Reeves grew up surrounded by women; mothers, sisters, and friends. So naturally you would assume we would be in tune with what they want and how to make a relationship work with them. That couldn't be further from the truth as we have both moved on from the typical Nice Guy behaviors we learned would please our mothers and eventually our romantic partners.

On this week's podcast, Bryan Reeve, life and love coach from Los Angeles, CA, joins me to talk about the three stages of a relationship and how we bounce back and forth between codependency and independence. The beauty within a committed and lasting relationship is putting aside all of our bulls$!t and getting curious about our partner's needs, wants, and uniqueness. Lastly, we discuss how having female friends holds us back from truly connecting deeply with our intimate or romantic partner.

Are you being needy? Or just sharing your needs in a relationship? Last fall, I was asked a very big question and at that time, I didn’t know the answer to. The question was, “What do you need?”

At the time, that question was so much harder for me to answer than it is today after many hours of soul searching and diving into myself to find that answer. For myself and not anyone else. You can read all about it in the recent blog post The Missing Pieces!

That reflection that led to me taking complete ownership and inspired this week’s podcast episode with Shawntres Parks, from Couples Learn in Los Angeles, CA. She has her master’s in Clinical Psychology, is a candidate for her PhD in Transpersonal Psychology, owns a certificate in Sex Therapy, and is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. She was the perfect expert to ask some very serious questions about how we come across as needy OR share our needs in a healthy way to be heard by our partner. Shawntres believes that the negative influence of overt/covert messages from family of origin, trauma, and past relationships is what holds us back in our current relationships. Her mission is to help women heal and transform from past trauma that hinders them from fully showing up in their ideal relationship.

On this week’s episode of the podcast, we are surprised by moments of authentic vulnerability from Sheby and Katy, hosts of the Mile High Mess Podcast here in Denver. What I wasn’t aware of before we hit record was Shelby’s recent break up hit her hard but when asked why she chose not to reschedule, she makes a true observation, “Because life goes on”.

I am on board with Shelby’s determination to continue to live her life, feel the feels, and add in healthy self-care to heal from her heartbreak. Through their hilarious podcast, Katy and Shelby believe that a fear of judgement is what holds people back in relationships and I couldn’t agree more.

We often hold back our authentic selves out of fear that we will be rejected and judged by our love interests. On the other hand, when these two host their podcast to bring levity to modern dating, they aim to entertain, give comfort, and bring a feeling of unity to their listeners lives!

Renee Slansky believes that a man’s main love language is words of affirmation. In today’s episode, she explains the difference between affirmation and validation. We don’t end the conversation there, but we dive even deeper into how to affirm a man’s purpose to give him the confidence to dive all-in a relationship.

Renee was kind enough to share the roles within a relationship and the phases when one person is pursuing more than the other. “A healthy relationship is who has to do work in this moment to produce the healthy result. Sometimes it’s 50/50, sometimes it’s 90/10. Sometimes you have to carry the other person.”

She believes that when we bring the familiar phase into the courting phase, we shouldn’t be surprised when it blows up and fails!

Men and women are constantly testing each other to establish whether their partner is high value… or not. Renee believes that men test women so much more than women test men! Until I read a book by Dr. Robert Glover, author of No More Mr. Nice Guy, I would have disagreed but with Renee’s advice and the knowledge gained, I have now changed my mindset on this opinion!

Shelly Sulfrian is one of my best friends in Denver, a former client, and inspirational survivor of Ulcerative Colitis. She has a Doctorate in Pharmacy working in the corporate world as a Nuclear Pharmacist. Outside of her career, Shelly’s passion is to bring awareness and provide support for those suffering with invisible digestive illnesses, and to raise IBD and Ostomy awareness.

Shelly believes that a lack of self awareness, confidence, and vulnerability prevents people from being their authentic selves in relationships. Shelly is an Enneagram type 4, the Individualist, and had adverse reactions to that test result. After many moments of self-reflection, she now believes her empathy is a big strength to help others!

Authenticity to Shelly means, “I am the most creative version of myself. I am confident and I don’t let other people sway what I want to do.” As the biggest takeaway, Shelly wants us to know that we can “give each other grace” because we never know what is going on in their lives.

Alyse believes that fear is what holds us back in relationships- fear of judgement, unworthiness, response from others as well as the fear of rejection. She believes that is mostly because it is not the “norm” to ask and share what is really going on with you. In her opinion, many of us have lost the ability to really communicate because of screens, devices prevent us from doing so, or simply just the lack of practice. Finally, Alyse shares a deeper passion through We Talk Real Talk, which is spreading empathy and connection through conversation. This is an opportunity for you to have a space to interact with people in a meaningful way. They are creating tech-free gatherings that inspire authentic connection locally in the Denver area. On this week’s episode of the podcast, we are joined by Dr. Brittany Woolford, Ph.D. and counselor at the Center for Shared Insight. She has published a journal article that is totally worth reading called “Interest in Partners Orgasm: Sex differences and relationships with attachment strategies”

Dr. Woolford believes that the fear of rejection and trying to abide by how society says they should be in relationships is what holds us back from finding lasting love. Her mission is to help people create healthy relationships. With this, not only are we impacting our individual or couple client, we are also influencing who are clients are in relationship with.

Another value Dr. Woolford holds high is social justice and advocating for our clients to be authentic in relationships, even if this doesn’t fit with stereotypes of relationships. If her message resonates with you today, please don’t hesitate to reach out to her at www.centerforsharedinsight.com or on Instagram @centerforsharedinsightpc

This week on the podcast, our special guest is Dr. Mallaree Blake who has her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, a Masters in Mental Health Counseling, as well as a Bachelors in sociology and psychology. I have felt for a long time that this conversation around safe sex and sexually transmitted infections was important for our community to be informed of because things change often in modern dating! A few of the questions we answer in today’s episode are “How do we disclose if we have an STI?”. Dr. Blake believes that shame, fear of rejection or abandonment, as well as societal expectations that challenge aspects of who they are is what holds them back in a relationship. One’s lack of understanding or knowing their sense of self and other mental health challenges that make them vulnerable also hold them back when seeking out a new partnership! Her mission in her business is full of supporting individuals, couples, and communities in healing, strengthening, and transforming their sense of self, relationships, and beyond!

Her personal mission is for men and women to believe in who they are as an individual. When entering the “dating scene”,

On today’s episode of the podcast, we have special guest Alexis Meads, M.A. from Harvard University, who tells us a loving and genuine story about not giving up on a relationship with her husband because he was undecided about having children. After discovering more about each other and making the daily choice to develop a loving connection, they now have two children!

Her mission is to help women to date with more ease and joy, less fear and anxiety. From there she aims to create authentic, meaningful, committed relationships with her clients. She ultimately wants to break the belief that true love is the kind that you see in a Hollywood movie and it only comes from the perfect partner, but rather it comes from within, and finding a person who matches that, where both partners are committed to growing together.

Alexis believes that there is a lot of fear when it comes to dating and relationships. She thinks that fear is the biggest thing keeping daters from being their authentic selves when seeking lasting love.

Alexis Meads has her wellness coaching certification from the Kerala Ayurveda Academy, a life coaching certification from Coach U, and was selected out of 4% applicants to coach Tony Robbins clients. She believes that people are held back from starting meaningful relationships because their online dating profile pictures are tragic. In some cases, they are using old, outdated pictures from a younger time. In other cases, they are simply snapping a selfie in the bathroom or gym mirror. The Reformer (type 1) personality type on the Enneagram has an "inner critic" that is constantly reminding them to do good.  Imagine how hard it would be to go through life with a very loud voice in your head that tells you how to stay on course and do right by others AT ALL TIMES!

Their key motivations are that they want to be right, to strive higher and improve everything, to be consistent with their ideals, to justify themselves, to be beyond criticism so as not to be condemned by anyone.  Have you met someone that resembles this type?

Share with them this episode so that they can have grace for themselves as well as reach optimal mental health to say "I am reasonable and objective" as opposed to "I am right".  To take your own Enneagram test, click 9types.com and complete the Rheti version, screen shot your results, and send them over to Dave now for more information!

Chasity believes that fear is what holds people back in relationships- she says this is why her brand is Fearlessly Authentic. Her mission in life is to enable others to realize their dreams in body and nutrition.

Her best dating advice is….

Don’t date where you squat otherwise she wants to remind you not to mess with the sanctuary.

From New York City, Daniel Amis, the author of “Unbreakable Love”, joins me on the podcast this week. He believes that when we focus on getting others to like the real us is what holds us back in relationships. I can relate to that view point. As a recovering nice guy, every chance I got I was seeking the approval of women.

Have you ever felt that something similar was holding you back from finding lasting love?

Daniel’s mission is to help as many people as possible find and create the relationship of their dreams. After years of experience coaching, he has found a few things that are common amongst his clients that prevent them from creating the love of their dreams.

They are…

“People love conditionally. You need unconditional love, you need unbreakable love.”

The Nice Guy is your emotional tampon! He will say and do anything he can to get you to like him and often times find himself getting friend zoned!

What is the difference between pickiness and having standards?!

HOTTTT TOPIC!!! Can a long distance relationship work? What causes problems in a long distance relationship?

I reached out to a former guest on the podcast to get their opinion on the subject and they offered up this advice, “Be prepared for heartbreak”.

Is it that simple? “Heartbreak or nothing at all” when it comes to committing to someone long distance? All-in or all out?!

Today on the podcast, Dave Glaser dives into the reasons why long distance can work and why it absolutely won’t be easy for some! A resource he likes to refer to often is Gary Chapman’s book,The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate.

About ten years ago, Dave was in a long distance relationship that was doomed from the start but he wasn’t aware of why until recently! Tune in to today’s episode on the podcast, subscribe, rate, and review on iTunes or Spotify to be the first to know when a new episode drops!

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 New International Version (NIV)

This bible verse resonates with me because in our tough times in modern America, men need a positive reminder that getting together in groups can and will build stronger identity and relationships. A local Denver men’s group, The Evolving Man, that I have mentioned that I am a member of a few times on the podcast was begun by Geoff Laughton who believes that men are held back in relationships for fear that they’ll be found out to be some kind of fraud.

Geoff is a two time national best selling author of Building a Conflict Proof Relationship and Built to Last both are available at yourrelationshiparchitect.com. Geoff was a previous guest on the podcast Your Relationship Architect and is back for a special, live interview in Denver, Co to discuss what men need most vs. what the most want out of life!

His mission is helping people be fully comfortable in their own skin & power using their relationship with self and other as the incubator. With Geoff’s men’s work, he is all about changing the paradigm of gender relations, empowering men to show up for themselves, their partners, and their lives of which I can attest to the power of gathering together as men because I have connected with strong, compassionate men that help me become sharper and my more authentic self.
