How do we go from being announced free to be actually free? By the Holy Spirit. How does the Spirit of God lead the family of God to the goal of God? By putting to death the deeds of the body.
Part 8... how do we do that?
Romans 8:12-17 teach how God intends to move us from being announced free to being totally free.
In Romans 8 Paul teaches that since the law is not the Savior, but is the agent that God has used to reveal that everyone's heart is sick and in need of a transplant. The first section of Romans 8 deals with the question, "What is God's plan for rescuing the heart from the slavery of sin and producing life and holiness instead?"
Romans 7 is one of the most comprehensive chapters on the moral law of God. Part 5 of Overcomer is a helpful sermon meant to teach us how to grasp the law for today.
This message was preached by Missionary Didier from Congo. Pastor Didier leads Compassion for Congo in the DRC in Africa. He is an African Native and after seeing the dismal state of Congo answered the call to give his life to the Congolese people. Upon arrival Pastor Didier and his wife immediately adopted several children and have parented them ever since. In addition to planting three churches, Pastor Didier and his wife have led the launch of as many orphanages and institutes where Congolese men are being trained to lead churches in the region.
