Dion, Irv, Jon, and special guest host Marnie discuss the best movie soundtracks.  They narrowed it down to what they called a "compilation" or "various artist" soundtrack.  Some criteria for soundtracks were that these needed to be songs from multiple artists, couldn't be a musical (where the songs are part of the dialogue and the plot), and couldn't be songs by or about a specific band (a la Help! about/by the Beatles, Walk the Line about Johnny Cash, Bohemian Rhapsody about Queen, etc.). This time around Dion, Irv, and Jon discuss their rankings of six different lists.  The thought was that the lists either wouldn't have enough discussion or were a little too much of a "niche" list.  Each list was pre-ranked so you don't get to hear the fellas discuss as they rank.  However, they give some insight as to why they each rank the lists the way they do and there is still some lively discussion (good points).  A thank you goes out to a special guest, Donovan Braet, who helped rank a couple of the lists.  If you would like to skip over or only listen to a few of the lists, skip ahead: Star Wars Jedi: 5:36, Best Pets that are NOT a cat or dog: 13:14, Bill Raftery Sayings: 20:42, Defunct Sports Team Logos: 27:34, Fast Food Breakfasts: 34:30, Weird Al Songs: 40:13. Please enjoy the latest offering and give feedback on Twitter @ThatsaGoodPoin1. Special guest host James Severson joins Dion, Irv, and Jon to discuss and rank different frozen pizza brands.  The fellas all tried the pizzas before recording so the flavors were fresh in their minds as they made good points and ranked their favorite frozen pizzas.  Some tasted just how they remembered while others did not meet expectations (good or bad).  There was even time for a quick game of start one, sit one, cut one at the end. Dion, Irv, and Jon rank their favorite college basketball color analysts. A wide array of styles, expertise, and personalities are represented on the list.  Some all-time greats miss the cut but the fellas explain why.  There may be some controversy about who wins (or even makes it onto the list) but the fellas like commentators who are knowledgeable, quotable, and entertaining basketball commentators. Dion, Irv, and Jon taste some Little Debbies brand snacks and give their opinions on their top variations.  Jon gives a small history lesson on the Little Debbies company and some interesting voting takes place in this episode.  There is time for a start one-sit one-cut one with another company's snacks as well.  Follow us on Twitter @ThatsaGoodPoin1 Theme: Protofunk by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4247-protofunk License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Dion, Irv, and Jon kick off a new season by looking at the best game shows of all time.  The boys rank 7 items instead of the regular 6 including some heavy hitters that make all the top game show lists.  Maybe a future episode could be game show hosts as those are discussed at length in this episode.  There's a healthy discussion of game shows, including their formats, history, hosts, and highlights.  The discussion goes on long enough that there's no time for a start one, sit one, cut one but the conversation is still lively and informative.  Follow us on Twitter @ThatsaGoodPoin1

Hey, Poin'ers--we've got a challenge for you this year to help spur discussion and just give you an idea of something fun to do!  We are issuing a 2021 Trilogy Challenge where we ask you to watch a trilogy each month of the year.  Some months we'll tell you the one we want you to watch, other times we'll give you some options.  In either case, we are still exploring bonus episodes of That's A Good Point dedicated to the movies.  We may just make a matrix to rate the movies and include that in a regular episode.  Check out our list here.  As always, we're looking for feedback on Twitter @ThatsaGoodPoin1. In the season 2 finale of That's A Good Point, Dion, Irv, and guest host Denton Hopkins rank the biggest sports collapses.  Jon was able to call in and offer some insight.  The hardest part of the list was narrowing it down to just six options to rank as they were all big-time collapses in sports (most of them relatively recent).  You'll definitely recognize a few of these.  There is enough time for a start one, sit one, cut one with ballpark foods (in honor of the baseball coach joining the fellas).  As always, send feedback and ideas through Twitter @ThatsaGoodPoin1 Theme: Protofunk by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4247-protofunk License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

This week's installment of That's A Good Point finds Dion, Irv, and Jon discussing their favorite sides at Thanksgiving dinner.  Everyone probably has different renditions and recipes of the old standards so they just went with their own experiences of different sides.  What's your take on the relish tray, mashed potatoes (with gravy or without), corn or corn dish, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, dinner rolls, and stuffing (sometimes referred to as dressing)?  As always send feedback through Twitter @ThatsaGoodPoin1 Theme: Protofunk by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4247-protofunk License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Dion, Irv, and Jon discuss their favorite movies starring Tom Hanks.  To be clear, these aren't rated as best performances by Tom Hanks, just the movies that the fellas enjoy the most.  There are plenty of good points made as they arrange the top 6 using the beloved "matrix" to order the movies.  A game of start one, sit one, cut one wraps up the episode by taking 3 songs from the Forrest Gump soundtrack.  Follow us on Twitter @ThatsaGoodPoin1 Theme: Protofunk by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4247-protofunk License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Dion, Irv, and Jon discuss the best months of the year to watch sports.  The fellas had to weed out a few of the months to get the list down to 9 months for ranking.  Honorable mentions went to July, August, and May, and those months were left off the list. So, you won't hear about the MLB All-Star Game or the Kentucky Derby.  There were a lot of good points made and in the end the list reflects what we already know about the That's A Good Point crew--they like college basketball.  What's your favorite month to watch sports?  Follow us on Twitter @ThatsaGoodPoin1 Theme: Protofunk by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4247-protofunk License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Dion, Jon, and guest host Marnie Moore rank music videos from the 1980's back when they were a "thing" on MTV or Friday Night Videos on NBC.  Irv claimed he was too young to speak in an educated manner about this topic so he chimed in every now and then but did not vote.  Videos were pared down and ranked based on the video AND whether or not the fellas liked the song.  Some heavy hitters don't make the list, but that should be explained, so give it a listen!  There's a quick game of start one-sit one-cut one with some 1980's iconic looks. Dion, Irv, and guest host Bailey Gulley rank sitcoms that have made their debut since the year 2000.  Bailey and Irv show off their knowledge and enjoyment of some recent TV classics.  Dion mostly just shows his age, which is probably why Jon sat this one out.  Some good points were made and there was time for a game of start one, sit two, cut one (yes, the rules changed this week--the boys can do what they want).

Dion, Irv, and Jon rank the best movie sequels.  These movies did not have to be the second in a sequence if there were multiple follow-up films.  So many good points were made that you may need a notebook to keep track as the boys explain why one movie tops another.  There was a little bit of time left to play a quick game of start one-sit one-cut one with movie genres at the end.

The award-winning podcast, "That's a Good Point", returns for season 2!  In this episode, Dion, Irv, and Jon rank candy bars using the famous "matrix".  These were narrowed down by what the boys considered to be "bars" so you won't see M&M's or Skittles on the list.  As an FYI, you also won't hear about Almond Joy because that stuff's gross.  At the end, they play a game of start one-sit one-cut one using specialty M&M flavors.

In the season finale of That's a Good Point, Dion, Irv, and Jon discuss the best NFL players from the Super Bowl era that never won the big one.  It is difficult to narrow down the list to just 6 players but once the list is made, the guys are able to run the choices through the matrix and come up with a winner.  There are a couple of ties but they do get broken followed by a start one, sit one, cut one with the best big play in a game.  Follow and give feedback on Twitter @Thatsagoodpoin1

*Corrections: Adrian Peterson won a playoff game with the Vikings in the 2009 season

*Clarification: October 16, 2006, the Chicago Bears came from being down 20-0 and beat the Arizona Cardinals 24-23 scoring zero offensive touchdowns.  They returned two fumbles and Devin Hester returned a punt for touchdowns.
