Where is your family heading for the holidays? To visit your family? Your husband’s family? Maybe you are hosting everyone at your house this year!
Whatever your plans are, discuss and negotiate them well before the holidays hit. Last-minute plans usually end up in a fight (at least they did for us).

“Will you look after our kids if anything happens to us?”
You never expect it to actually happen, but what would you do if it did?
Jessye Wilden is joining us in this episode to share her story of finding love and joy after tragedy. She’s sharing what buoyed her when she felt like she was drowning and what she’s learned about surviving her own suffering and helping others through theirs.

Jessye continues to write and speak to groups using her unique perspective and exciting storytelling to help others hold onto goodness when life hurts most.

How do you react when you feel attacked? Do you panic and lash out, or do you stay grounded and true to yourself?
Living and acting with integrity when you feel scared or attacked is not an easy thing to get through, but when you know who you are you also know how to act in a way that is true to your values.
I’ve been dealing with this in a big way this year, and I realized that if I need to hear this, somebody else probably does too. I want you to know that you’re not alone.
The old me would have been extremely reactive and felt the need to attack back, but that’s not who I am anymore. By going through this process of rediscovering who I am and what my values are, I’ve learned how to handle difficult situations with integrity, and you can too.
If you find yourself being impulsive or reactive when you feel attacked and you want to change that, this is for you.

Every single one of us is affected by overwhelm, but some of us are more prone to it than others.
Have you ever heard of highly sensitive people? It’s a term used to describe people who are more sensitive to stimuli like sights and sounds as well as the needs and emotions of other people.
If you find yourself becoming easily overwhelmed by too much noise around you, a cluttered space, or the heavy emotions of a friend, you might be a highly sensitive person. We’re everywhere! But society isn’t really set up for us, so we have to figure out ways to protect our time and energy so that we aren’t constantly overwhelmed.
In this episode I’m talking about what overwhelm is, what causes it, and how it affects highly sensitive people differently from everyone else.
Whether you are a highly sensitive person or not, I guarantee someone in your life is, so it’s really important to understand and have more empathy for them. Tune in to get started!

Are you feeling burnt out after this year?
I think we are burned out in record numbers right now. I’m hearing stories of burnout from a lot of people around me and it got me thinking: what if that burnout is affecting our sleep?
The unfortunate truth is that burnout causes you to get less restful sleep, and the lack of sleep causes more burnout! In this episode, let’s talk about how to break that cycle.
I’m talking all about the relationship between burnout and sleep and giving you 6 ways to reset your sleep-wake cycle. I've been practicing these myself and I can promise you they work.
If you’re going to CEO like Jesus, this is something you need to know about. Tune in!

This episode is all about getting on the same page when it comes to commitment. We’re talking about responsibility, duty, devotion, and obligation, and how those things relate to commitment.

My husband, Jon, is joining us in this episode to talk about young love, the damsel in distress, the knight in shining armor, and the reality of relationships.
We’re talking about cultivating passion in a relationship and revisiting the early days of your relationship to remember why you fell in love. It can be easy to lose sight of the early days when you’ve been together for a long time, which means it can be easy to lose sight of the things you really love about each other too.
We’re also chatting about love languages and how important it is to know and accommodate your partner’s love language. We all want to feel loved, but it turns out that looks different for everyone!

Have you ever thought about who gets a seat at your table? Who has a voice in your life?
All my life I’ve been told that my ideas are pipe dreams. My dreams have been laughed at and dismissed. After a while, I stopped sharing them, and eventually, I stopped dreaming at all. It stifled me.
Now I’ve gotten very intentional about who gets a seat at my table, and I want to teach you to do the same.
I’m covering why it’s so important to think about who gets a seat at your table and sharing a simple exercise to figure out who in your life gets one of those seats.

Do you find it hard to make genuine connections with people in our day and age?
We live in a world where it can feel like everyone is hiding behind a screen, and the pandemic made it harder than ever to make in-person connections. I’m joined by Amanda Christine to talk about why it’s so important for us to be making meaningful connections, and she’s sharing her practical tips on how to do it. She’s also sharing why making connections is something that God intended us to do. Have you ever thought about it that way?
Amanda has mastered the art of asking the right questions to get people to open up. I know this because when we met I told her things I would never normally tell to someone I just met!
Amanda is the founder of the Society of Women Business Owners (SOWBO), a support group recognized for connecting, exciting, and challenging female entrepreneurs. Through one-to-one business coaching sessions, classroom-style training, and live events, Amanda helps women achieve measurable results while not losing sight of their unique influence and greater purpose. Amanda wants to live in a world where success is measured by genuine relationships, messy vulnerability, and passionate risk-taking. When she’s not working with business owners, you can find Amanda sipping coffee and intensely reading or writing at her favorite local coffee shop.
If you want to become someone like Amanda who brings people together and makes them feel comfortable enough to open up, you’re in the right place.

What do you think is the number one reason for conflict in a marriage with an entrepreneur?
I’ll give you a hint: It’s not finances or communication. Those are some big ones too, but they aren’t the reason we are talking about today.
You’ve probably noticed from listening to the podcast that there is a lot of crossover between marriage and business, and you’ll see that pattern emerge again in this episode.
There are characteristics that entrepreneurs have that make them successful in business, but those same characteristics can also be the very thing that can bring down their marriages if they're not careful.

“Vulnerability” is a buzzword that we hear fairly often these days, but why is it so important in building a business or nurturing a relationship? Vulnerability can add a level of depth and connection that would otherwise be difficult to reach.
In this episode of Couch Time with Amy Wine, I am chatting with my friend and business coach, Lianne Kim, about why vulnerability has been essential in her business.
Lianne Kim is the Founder & CEO of Mamas & Co. which is an online community of moms who run their own businesses. In the community, moms connect, support and inspire one another through sharing their experiences and goals.
We get into why vulnerability is important for being a leader, reasons why people hold back from vulnerability, how to share from a place of service instead of oversharing, the disconnection that comes from avoiding vulnerability, and so much more.

When yelling and silence no longer work on your husband, is it time to give up? How can you establish a connection with someone who is emotionally unavailable?
In this episode of Couch Time with Amy Wine, I’m joined by my husband, Jon, because I think it's about time we hear his side of things. We talk about how our conflicting family backgrounds have ingrained certain habits and values in us that we have had to unlearn to save our marriage.
One of these things, and the topic of this episode, is emotional unavailability, so if you want to learn why men are sometimes emotionally unavailable and how you can communicate in their language, this episode is really helpful.
Listen in as Jon and I reveal some secret thoughts for the first time, hear how reactions can mean so much in a conversation, how it can be OK not to be understood all the time, and how to put more emphasis on being accepted and loved.

Do conversations with your partner turn into arguments without you meaning them to? Do you find yourself criticizing or thinking the worst of them without even realizing it?
In this episode, we’re taking a look at an example of how negative feelings can escalate in a marriage. This is not an uncommon problem, so if you’re struggling with this in your marriage, know that you’re not alone.
We’re talking about something called “negative sentiment override” and how it can cause things to go from good to bad to worse in a relationship. It’s when negative sentiment overrides positive interactions or memories and makes it hard to see the good in someone.
I’m sharing some action items for you to implement to overcome the negative sentiment override and get closer to your partner. Never underestimate the power of gratitude, quality time, addressing the problem, forgiveness, vulnerability, and accountability.

Do you sometimes find yourself craving the company of other people? Small moments of connection with the people in your life have a big impact.
Sometimes you might feel isolated and disconnected from others, even when you’re surrounded by people. This sense of separation has a destructive effect on your ability to rest.
When you’re feeling this way, you’ll probably want to rely on others to make you feel supported and seen, but the secret to relational rest is learning to meet your own needs so that you aren’t dependent on others. That’s what we’re digging into this episode.

This type of rest lets you focus on planting seeds and watching them bloom and allows you to be in the moment without the pressure to perform.

Have you been taught to shelf your emotions?
Many of us have learned to hide our emotions either as a skill in our professional lives or as a coping mechanism. Turns out, your emotions were never meant to be bottled up. If you bottle up your emotions and never let them out to see the light of day, you’re limiting your ability to heal.
If this is something you know you do, you’re probably in need of emotional rest. Hiding your emotions or a part of yourself is draining! I’m here to help you get in tune with your emotions and get the emotional rest that you need.

You’re not the only one. In this episode, we’re talking about why it’s so important to declutter your brain and how to do it.
We are working our way through each of the 7 types of God-given rest across 7 episodes, and this episode is all about rest type number 3 which is mental rest.

I want you to come to the beach with me. The beach is my favorite place, and we’re going to visualize it together at the beginning of this episode to get a little sensory rest.
I'm back with another episode in our series on rest, and we’re moving on to the second type of rest: sensory.
There was a time when life moved slower and we could enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of living. Now, life moves so fast it’s a blur of those sights, sounds, and smells everywhere we turn. Excessive exposure to nonstop sensory information leaves us exhausted and leads to us taking our senses for granted. We tune out our senses in our overly-busy days. If you can learn to rest from a sensory perspective, you’ll be able to enjoy your senses again instead of being overwhelmed by them.
If you’ve noticed you have an increased sensitivity to touch and sound, you crave more processed foods, your eyes feel strained, or you struggle to enjoy events like concerts or firework displays, this episode is for you.

So, you’ve identified stonewalling in your relationship… what now?
In this episode, I’m joined by my partner in crime, Jon, to talk about how stonewalling has shown up in our marriage. Recently, I sprung it on him that I wanted to take a month-long trip. Turns out that communicating our intentions and expectations for this trip was a little challenging, and what did that lead to? You guessed it: stonewalling.
You’re going to hear how Jon and I have healthy conversations about things that once would have caused huge arguments and hurt feelings in our relationship. Miscommunication from time to time is inevitable, but I want to give you the tools you need to prevent those miscommunications from blowing out of proportion.
If you don’t know what stonewalling is, the last episode of the podcast was all about it, so you might want to go back and catch that one before this one.

Have you ever heard of stonewalling?
Stonewalling is avoiding conversations or refusing to talk to someone. It can be used unintentionally as a coping mechanism to minimize or avoid conflict, but it can also be used to manipulate or control a partner.
You can see why it’s important to know what it is and what it looks like so that you can determine where it shows up in your life. Maybe someone is stonewalling you or maybe you’re stonewalling someone else without really meaning to. This episode is going to help you figure out why you might be stonewalling and what to do about it.
We’re going to look at three important questions: How are you stonewalling yourself? How are you stonewalling your spouse, children, or coworkers? How are you stonewalling God?

Do you feel like you’re on a never-ending search for balance in your life?
We’re constantly being sold this idea of “balance” as the secret to a happy life, but I don't believe in it.
This episode is all about why I detest the word “balance.” I’m telling you why I think the word “balance” is completely misused, and suggesting a word we should use instead.
Guess what? Not everything in life will be equally balanced at all times and that’s okay! The truth is, not everything in your life needs to be equally balanced. What’s more important is that you are scheduling things in your life with intention and creating habits that make sense for you.
If you’re tired of beating yourself up over not having a perfectly balanced life, this is for you.

What qualifications do you need to have to speak about Jesus online?
I used to be afraid to share my whole self online because of what other people might say. Someone once told me that I’m not qualified to speak about Jesus, but I believe that anybody who loves Jesus is qualified to speak about him. That’s why I do, and thankfully, I’m not afraid of it anymore.
If you’ve been here for a while, you know that I love helping high-achieving, Jesus-loving women design a life they love, but that wasn’t always the case. In this episode, I’m sharing a little bit of my journey from hiding parts of myself to being my fully-authentic self and why I choose to talk about Jesus even though some people might say I’m not qualified to.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re not qualified to speak about Jesus, this episode is exactly what you need.

How often do you make time to work on yourself? To really do the inner work?
There’s always so much going on in life, it can be all too easy to put ourselves at the bottom of the to-do list.
Our guest in this episode, Julie Morvant, is all about finding ways to do the inner work even when you feel busy and overwhelmed. She believes in finding your purpose through life's challenges and in this episode, she’s sharing how she did that for herself.
Julie Morvant was born and raised in South Louisiana. She is one of ten children and had a good childhood until her father passed away when she was just ten years old. After experiencing her father's death, she struggled with some anxiety, and as a teenager, running became her therapy. She noticed that after a run, all her stress and anxiety were gone. She continued to run as an adult and completed an anxiety therapeutic program. By the age of twenty-two, she decided to go to graduate school to receive her master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling.
In 2010, knowing what running did for her mental and physical health, she decided to become an injury-prevention running coach. Now that she is counseling people with anxiety and depression, she can't help but reflect on how she took her own suffering and found a purpose for it. It brings her great joy to help her clients find a purpose through the challenges of life. She believes that nothing we go through is ever wasted.
If you’ve never taken the time to work through past trauma, this episode is not one to miss.

There are characteristics that entrepreneurs have which make them successful in business, but those same characteristics can also be the very thing that can bring down their marriages if they're not careful.

This year, life has been absolutely crazy and has caused many of us to struggle. When this happens, it gets really easy just to let things slide and put intentional living on the back burner.
I want to encourage you not to do this. Take some time before the end of 2020 to evaluate how you are doing in the most critical areas of your life. What areas do you want to improve on next year? You may be saying that you’ll just wait until the pandemic is over before you focus on that goal, but don’t do that!
There will never be the perfect time to work on the things that matter to you. Now is the time to get started and make progress a little bit at a time.
I hope you feel encouraged to put some intentional thought into your life going into 2021. If you would like help, go to www.marriagesparks.com and get signed up for my community to support each other with our goals next year.

It’s 2020. Just that statement is enough to explain that we are coming off of some of the hardest months of our life - and I am guessing that many of you are, too. Sometimes when life feels hard and heavy, it’s fun to do something lighthearted and easy.
In this episode with my husband Jon and I, we did just that. We were recently on a car ride to and from a sporting event and took the time as an opportunity to record an off-the-cuff, fun podcast episode together.
We hope you enjoy this episode and use it as a fun reason to spend some light-hearted, silly drive time with your significant other.

Perfectionism can be a complete relationship killer. And unfortunately, it is also very common. I counsel many couples in my practice that deal with a pattern of perfectionism in their relationship and as much as I hate to admit, I’ve also dealt with it in my own marriage.
So, how do we safeguard our most important relationships from the trap of perfectionism?
In this episode, we discuss perfectionism and the best tips for how to keep it from hurting your relationships.
I hope that the tips I share will help you the next time you are facing perfectionism. Take the time to ask yourself what is underneath the frustration you are feeling so you can show up in a more loving way - for yourself and for others.

How do abandonment issues in childhood affect your marriage? Do you tend to hold back from giving your marriage everything you've got? Maybe one of you is guilty of throwing out the “d” word one too many times.
In this episode, I am joined by Stephanie Fryer who is a student of the SPARK Re-Ignite beta course. Stephanie and her husband have been married for 26 years and have four children. As with any marriage, they have had their share of ups and downs. Things were at a tipping point earlier this year, when out of the blue, her husband called and told her he would agree to go to marriage therapy. Stephanie admits she was shocked, but jumped at the chance! The same day she came across the SPARK course and immediately signed up.
I am excited for Stephanie to share more about her experience with the course. She admits that while her husband did not take the course with her, she has seen many positive shifts happen while going through the course herself.
In today’s episode we dive into love languages, dealing with opposite personalities, and the challenge of not falling back into old habits. We will also uncover the truth behind trust issues that hold some people back from being able to give their marriage 100%.

What do you do when you feel that your marriage isn't going to last? How do you learn to communicate again when you've only had years of either silence or arguments? How much does your upbringing affect how you interact with your spouse?

How do you forgive, let go and rebuild trust after your spouse's affair? What can you do if your marriage has become like roommates stuck together? How do you achieve calm when your life is in chaos?
These are tough questions that need straight answers.
For today's episode, I have a special guest from the Spark Re-ignite Course, Jena Flores. This is my chance to get to know her a little bit more. We'll dive deep into how her marriage has evolved since she started the course four months ago.
Jena jumped in the course by herself wanting to initiate change in her marriage. She talks about her shift from feeling hopeless and lost to knowing that she's not alone. She also shares with us the changes she personally had to make in order to communicate better and more calmly. The good news is that he is back and we are chatting about how we are learning to co-exist with four pets and three kids, all while working from home TOGETHER.

These are the 9 transformations people want in their marriage. Are you wondering how you can go about making these changes? The first thing you have to do is to start looking at YOU and your impact on things.
If you go straight into a discussion trying to correct any of these things and coming across as attacking, you are going to have a hard time figuring it out. I encourage you to start using the word “I” instead of ‘you”. Instead of saying “you need to do the laundry” try saying “I would love it if you would take the kids out of the house for a few hours so I can do the laundry”. Doesn’t that statement sound much less aggressive and attacking towards your spouse?
After you listen to the episode, I want you to email me directly at hello@amywine.com and tell me which of the 9 transformations you relate with. Which ones would you love for me to cover on an upcoming podcast episode?
After you email me, be sure to head over to www.amywine.com and sign up for my FREE beta course called SPARK. This course will help you reignite your marriage like you just said I do. Who doesn’t want that?! It's going to hit on every one of these transformations and will tell you exactly how you can change it.
SPARK will be full of actionable, detailed information that you can take home to reignite your marriage. As a bonus, I will be going live every week for 3 weeks in our group to answer all of your questions so get them ready!
Make sure to sign up at https://amywine.com/sparkmarriagecourse
I will see you all here next week!
XO,
Amy

Are you showing up as the best you in your marriage? Somedays you might say yes, and others you might be crawling under a table and hiding because your answer is a big fat, NO!
I know so many of you are hearing “new year, new you”. I know this is supposed to be positive, but honestly, I hate it. Why can’t it be “new day, new you”? Why do we have to think that you can only change when it’s a new year? I want to make a change any day I want! We are constantly in a state of change and people that don’t like change, don’t like to think of it that way. We should always be moving forward and not staying stuck or moving backward. I am so passionate about being the healthiest and best you so you can have the best marriage possible.
Today I want you to sit down, review the questions in this episode, and look at YOU. Grab a pen and paper and think about the questions and how they relate to your life. This is going to go deep so prepare yourself!
Questions to Ask Yourself:
I hope you sit down and take time to REALLY go through this exercise. Bonus points if you can do it with your spouse. These questions make you dig deep but the couples who have done this have had phenomenal success.
After you do this exercise I would love to hear from you. You can reach out to me directly at hello@amywine.com. You can also go to www.amywine.com and find out how you can work with me one on one.
If you go to www.amywine.com you can also jump on the waitlist for my newest course that will be launching soon: SPARK. This course will walk you through transitioning from married roommates to a marriage on fire.

On today's episode of the Marriage on Fire podcast…
We hope you had a good Christmas!
The New Year will be here soon, and you will hear a lot about New Year's resolutions. But completing a goal or resolution isn't something that just happens. It takes intention every day to make real progress!
It's so important to have a plan. Nothing that isn't planned gets done.
We are going to go in-depth about why we need to be intentional with our time and what system we use to check in weekly.
On Today's Episode:
If you can change what you're doing in your marriage, you can change everything. It's not about what your spouse does or doesn't do. It's about what you do, or don't do.
How are you going to be intentional in the new year?

We have alluded to in previous podcasts about one of our biggest marriage fights, and we are finally going to give you what you want.
Today we're going to talk about THAT fight.
But then we're going to give you various ways to repair your relationship after an argument because you're always going to have arguments within marriage.
We're going to tell you our story that you've all been dying to hear because I have had listeners, email me and tell me they really want to know about this fight! After we recap it, we're going to talk about how we repaired it.
On today's episode we discuss:
You're always going to have arguments in marriage. Even the best marriages do. It's important to repair as soon as possible and not let anger fester any longer than it has to. Learn from the argument, and if at all possible, know what triggered it. What can be done differently? And again, get back on the same page get back together.

Marriage is a lot of work. It isn’t easy, but it is definitely worth it.
Jon and I lived as married roommates for YEARS. Do I wish I could go back and change things? Yes. That is also the reason I am so passionate about helping you overcome struggles in your life and marriage.
I want you to live as loving, passionate partners and best friends, not as roommates just passing in the night. I want you to have a marriage on fire, so I am excited to jump into today’s episode. My own best friend and partner, Jon, is back for another episode so be sure to tune in.

Today’s episode may hit close to home for many of you. Jon and I lived like roommates for YEARS in our marriage. We simply co-existed, side by side, just going through the motions of daily life.
Many of you have found yourselves feeling like roommates in your marriage. You may feel like you have lost the “spark” you had when you were dating or in the early years.
How do you move past this? What are some things you can do to open up communication in your marriage? How can you move past going through the motions and avoid living with resentment towards your spouse?
One of the most important things you must do is to find yourself and figure out what brings you joy….then you must be open and honest with your partner. Without open communication, you will have a hard time avoiding it.
I hope you guys listen in this week. I am excited to share with you a resource I created to help bring a spark back to your marriage!
On Today’s Episode We Discuss:
I hope you really found today’s episode helpful. I encourage you to explore your core values and share them with your partner. It’s easy to put blame on your partner, but at the end of the day, you are the only person who can control your problems. I want you to shift your focus from “me versus my partner” to “us as a team”.
You must compromise and accept influence and learn yourself. This is when you can start taking responsibility and get away from the married roommate situation.
If you connect with any of today’s episode I encourage you to go to amywine.com and get on the waitlist for Married Roommates. This is a super actionable course that will help you avoid living as married roommates and will help you get the light back in your marriage. Jump on the waitlist here → www.amywine.com/married-roommates.

Where is your family heading for the holidays? Your family’s house? To your husband’s side? Maybe you are hosting everyone at your house this year. Whatever your plans are, I hope they were discussed and negotiated earlier than a few days before the holiday hit! Last-minute plans usually end up in a fight. At least they did for us.
I wish I could say Jon and I always had our family holiday plans figured out months in advance. I also wish I could say that we always agreed on them, but that would be a big fat lie. For many years of our marriage, things around the holidays caused a lot of stress and chaos in our families and between us as a couple.
This episode is dedicated to walking you through navigating the holidays and preventing conflict…. as much as possible anyways :)
On Today’s Episode We Discuss:
I pray you and your families have a wonderful Thanksgiving together….whereever you end up! I hope this episode helps set you up for a successful Christmas season as well.
Remember that Jon and I love hearing from you. Let us know where you are heading for the holidays! I would love to hear how you tackle the holidays as a couple. Do you visit extended family or do you stay home with your core? Would you love me to cover something on a future episode? Reach out to me on Instagram @theamywine and let me know!
See you here again next week. Until then, Happy Thanksgiving!

Are you doing things on a daily basis that are making you happy? In today’s episode, I will be talking about ways you can program your mind for a happy marriage. We all know when we have those bad days and something negative happens and then it just seems to spiral from there. One small negative builds upon another, and another, and before you know it, you implode.
Have you ever thought about what makes you happy? Some people might say it would be a shiny new sports car or a new house. Maybe you think a new pair of shoes would do it. There are so many of us that think we will be happier when something new or different happens, but most of the time that never comes. You get the new car or the new house and you are still unhappy. It’s crucial to strive to be happier, right now, right where you are because it will save you a whole lot of hurt if not.
We get lost worrying about the future. I encourage you to stop wasting your days and your time and live happy now. I am excited to dive into today’s episode! I hope you are too.
In Today’s Episode I Discuss:
That wraps up today’s episode. The number one thing to remember is to have a habit of happiness in your marriage. To do this, you have to work on your own happiness and not blame anyone else. You can’t have self-pity and resentment. Remember that happiness for yourself is within you.
I encourage you to ask yourself- what can I do right now to change my attitude and get the negative self talk out? Head over to Instagram and tag me @theamywine and tell me what your biggest obstacle is. Share with me how you plan to incorporate more happiness into your life and marriage. Let me help you walk through some of your struggles.

So I know many of you are going to be totally bummed, but I will be recording another solo episode today. Jon is actually in the next room working on a major presentation for work, but he will be back soon, so don’t fret!
Today on the show I will be covering demon dialogues and how they come into play with each partner. We will be talking about the bad guy in the relationship and the protest.
Are you ready for this? I think many of you are going to really resonate with the example I go over of a husband and wife named Evelyn and Chris. Chris and Evelyn go through the attack withdrawal cycle. At one point they did not know if they could even save their relationship. I have been at this point before. Scary!
Before we wrap up the episode, you’ll be fully equipped to smell an attack withdrawal cycle coming and you’ll know how to attack it before it attacks your marriage.
On Today’s Episode I Discuss:
Never shy away from asking for help. If you try out the steps shared in the episode and you fail, seek help. There are so many people who allow this cycle to lead to divorce. Don’t let that be you.
Do you have any questions? What can I help you with? Do you think you and your spouse or partner deal with this cycle? DM me on Instagram @theamywine and let me know what you thought about this episode. I would love to connect!

Is your marriage perfectly imperfect?
I know you guys will be excited because my hubby Jon is back on the show! Today we are covering an interesting topic...Being imperfect in your life and marriage.
I want to ask you guys something. How often do you expect your spouse to be perfect? Do you ever consider the fact that you are not perfect, yet you expect your spouse to be? I know I am guilty!
Jon and I share how we overcame having very high expectations of one another in the beginning of our marriage. It wasn’t easy to do, but that’s why we are here….to walk you through it! You will hear the lessons we have learned from accepting that no one is perfect.

On today’s episode of the Marriage on Fire podcast I have a surprise guest on the show! My own daughter Ali. I am excited to have her on the show and have to admit, it’s a little scary having her on here because I will be asking her some questions that I have never asked her before. Jon and I had some dark times in our marriage and for a couple of years, all we did was fight. Luckily, we came out on the other side, so I am excited to have my daughter on the show to chat with all of you!
On Today’s Episode We Chat About:
Alright guys, that wraps up another episode! I hope you enjoyed this conversation with Ali. I loved having her on the show today. I want you to make sure to tune in and listen to the podcast. You will see how fighting in your marriage can affect your kids (even long after). Make sure you check in with your kids and be there for them. So many kids come into my office and admit that they wish their parents would just divorce because of all of the fighting. I hope you work hard on your marriage! Jon and I made it through world war 3, so I know you can change things! I have seen it in my office hundreds of times.
Make sure to reach out and let me know what you thought of the episode. These types of episodes are so vulnerable for me, but I know that a lot of people don’t have access to counseling, so I started this podcast as a way to bring help and encouragement to you for free…. Any time of the day.
