Womb Song

Sonic home of the Womb Song Camp, slated for AfrikaBurn Festival in April 2020 but dispersed by the corona virus. This podcast show is an attempt to keep the tribe connected in times of physical separation.

Shows will be broadcast live as well as put online afterwards for delayed listening, so we can feel the connection by listening to a show all at the same time, where possible.
Feel free to invite anyone to this show that you think should participate.

For now I’m seeing a weekly show on Saturday night and want to invite members of the tribe to contribute shows. Womb Singers can either pre-record a show and send it to me to play it back live, or they can also install the Spreaker app and broadcast a show live from their own computers like I do.

I would love to hear two episodes from each member: A spoken check-in to be broadcast any time during the week before Friday night to introduce themselves and explain the upcoming Saturday show, for preparations needed by listeners. And then the actual show on Saturday night.

It could be anything, like just a playlist that you want to share. Doesn’t need to be a professionally produced show.

Test live broadcast and Yaya’s check-in is Friday 20th of March 2020 at 9pm Central European time, 10pm South African time.

The first show starts Saturday 21st of March 2020 at 9pm Central European time, 10pm South African time and will last 3 hours.

For now, the show will be available publicly on Spreaker, but not published to the established podcast outlets like iTunes etc. Personally, I would love to keep it completely private with a secret link only, but a limitation in Spreaker prevents us from sending live broadcasts to a limited-access show. That's only possible for public shows.
Each episode is limited to 3 hours duration. I just paid $200 for a yearly membership to make that happen. So if at some point you find a donation button somewhere on the show or episode pages, why don’t you follow it. (I don’t know yet how that works in practice).
