Kandandos, Toke Luanda-Angola
Os Turbantes, now Xtrubantu, with this song called "Defaya". Defaya is also a Kuduro kind of gangsta band. More pure Ghetto than gangsta...
This was a big hit four or five years ago. No radio brodcast, due to the violent lyrics, no TV exposure, but everybody knew and sung the words in this endless speech from the banlieus.
Natural and filmed with a photographic camera.

"Prakatá" Bruno de Castro No Fear - 1993 Album - - 128kbps -
Back to the roots, 1993, Bruno de Castro was presenting the hotest Luanda's nights sounds in wild discos called like: Pandemonium; Paralelo2000; Mathieu; Panorama; Chiuhaua; or in O Farol, the last dancing stop at the end of the mythical Ilha de Luanda (Ilha do Cabo as real name) where you could reawake with a special hot fish soup at 6:00 in the morning. In these days...

Now it's official. Buraka Som Sistema is finally a big success in Angola!
Perhaps Buraka as a sound to much sofisticated for the original Kuduro's country people.
So now, Buraka is playing in Luanda at home partys, with those big bass frequency in the cars, bars or raves.
Sending you a remix of "Kalemba (Wegue Wegue)", made by angolan Dj Mello, with the scan of the street back CD-R.
You see... we do not have a record industry here in Angola, so, if you, as an artist, have a tune in the street CD-R's, thats a gooooooooooooooooood sign! That means you are a success. That means a lot... Can't you see???

Os BF - Sony (Oficial Video - sample)
A sample from the newest Kuduro Video flashing from os BF Luanda's Samba barrio and original "étymologique" source place for the word Samba!
Not forgeting that this is another world wide all medias release Kuduros video première.
The released mp3 for Os BF - "Sony".
Agre G. - "Do Milindro"
Everybody comes running to me saying - "This is the one now!"
I believe it is...
After a listening I said that Agre G. is an old one. But I say also that Bruno M. is making good disciples.
You see, Bruno M. is now being discovered by angolan mainstream music public, like Puto Prata turn into mainstream in 2006... So... Take care Bruno M.... :D
Buraka Som Sistema - Deeejay
A special one from Buraka and that I dedicate to a kuduro's Angola reader, listner: Jeremiah!, from the USA... There she is...
Puto Bock - Olha a Putaria
Another favourite of mine, from 3 or 4 years ago, an unconfortable hit due to the very explicit lyrics and again with an underground sound. It was a very big hit in Angola and with the refrain reprised by plenty of others Kuduristas and non Kuduristas. This "Ou me matam ou quê!" from the refrain it's a popular interjection till today, and means, more or less, something like: "Or you stop me or I don't know what can hapenning".
In fact "Ou me matam ou quê!" in direct translation is "Or you kill me or what!".
Walter Laton - É Meu (remix)
Local tribute mixes from local Kuduro producers to... Kuduro! :)
NV and Frequim - Ku Semba
Here we have an infectious intersection between traditional Angolan Semba musical style with young Kuduro tribute.
Kotas (Supergroup) - Força Angola (Afrobasket Angola2007)
This is a special mainstream tune recorded for the Afrobasket Angola 2007, that Angolan basket team win, of corse! Well, in matter of Afrobasket championship, we Angolans, we know what we are talking about. We are 9 (NINE) times (!!!) male seniors African champions.
So, for the 2007 edition in Angola, a bunch of reputed old traditional Semba singers try it mixing it with a soft Kuduro tune style. But, the new generation gives a helping hand, with some back vocals.
Puto Lilas - Diga Não À Droga
A now hit by Puto Lilas, in a delicious naif Museke-Kuduro style.
This is a drug song. If we translate de title we'll have "Says no To Drug". But the lyrics are very funny, 'cause they say: «...if you're drugged (control your heat - says the back vocal); if you're very high (control you’re heat); but control your heat (this is my life); if you've had hemp (don't bother me)…»
This is the original mix. There is also a mix by Dj Franck. Who's Dj Franck? Who knows? Polls?
I'll put it on style here too, from us to you... :p
However, drug addiction is a big problem in Luanda Musekes. Mainly Cocaine and his Evil arm, the Crack.
This is a Silent problem. I can tell you that now days CRACK COCAINE IS ALL OVER LUANDA!!!
And even the street kids are smoking CRACK, for 5 usd dollars you can have an aeuphoric trip for 10 seconds the row.
As, equal to the socialite hip people, so, nobody speaks about the EVIL CRAK COCAINE IN LUANDA.
Mainstream Pub - Toque - by UNITEL Fantastic things are happening in this Kuduro from Angola Podomatic site. I would like to thanks to Podomatic, Inc team once they aloud us to use extra bandwith in this site, because all the http://kuduro.podomatic.com visitors have exceed the 15 gigas of bandwith per month, and we have already 17,1 gigas!!! And this, beacause in only 15 days we have had 5.000 mp3 downloads!!! It means that in 01 of May w'll have another 15 gigas of bandwith. In two days... Podomatic, Inc, thanks, and, please please all those visitors all over around the world!!! ; ) So, coming with the music. If this is a Luanda's Kuduro Underground site, we must see also the mainstream fact. And, Kuduro, only can be Kuduro with a fighter actitude, rebel soul. And, here in Angola, even the big enterprises use this agressivity in comercial releases. Here we have a actual and nice exemple of a big pub from angolan mobile phone UNITEL company set where true angolan Kuduro style, despite the mainstream usage, is present loud and clear and funnilly. I'll guive more news later. Cheers...
Puto Prata - Intro
I'm trying to show in this site the underground kuduro of Angola, new tendences, right from Luanda streets to your pc.
It's very hard to find kuduro records outside Angola mainly because the big majority of angolans kuduristas doesn't have a oficial release and a label to their musics.
So cd-r rulezz in non mainstream kuduro. If a radio host likes a tune it may be a succes; or, if that particular new kuduro it's playing in the partys at home, or in the discos, a new kudurista can have a contract.
Tha'ts what happened to Puto Prata. From protégée from the great Sebém to a big label contract an lots of internationals demands Puto Prata is now a big star and his sound it's getting better all the time.
So, you can easyly find Puto Prata cds to buy, you just have to make a little search in internet.
Anyway, I saw in the internet that Puto Prata is very requested this days. So, specialy to Puto Prata fans I'll put some tunes from is last album "O K Faz".
I gess that this is a good sampler of is work and that this will make people who likes the sound to buy the record.
Puto Prata, Fofandó, Puto Saborosa And Noite E Dia - Criança Futuro Bate Criança Futuro Project.
Dog Murras feat Fofandó and Puto Saborosa - Me Deixa
Despite beeing a big star Murras suports new kuduristas, well, not so new: Fofandó and Puto Sabrosa have not been borned in the last rain and both have already a kudurista carreer reaching ten years.
Dog Murras - Ku Power
Pure power Kuduro. In fact, Kazukuta-Kuduro, as said by Murras himself.
Dog Murras feat Beto de Almeida - Kazukuta Empurrão
Kazukuta is a national style music with plenty of balanced moovements. Once again, Dog Murras is able to integrate both styles, the traditional with Kazukuta, and the modern Kuduro electronic beat. This makes a big smile in my nationalistic soul... blerrr :p
Feating Beto de Almeida, one of the singers of Irmãos de Almeida (Almeida Brothers) a local famous duo with a long discographie, and a irregular musical production.
Tony Amado, Sebém, Dog Murras - Medley - Xica, Felicidade, Aqui Ta-se From the album: Angola - 30 Anos de Música - 2006
Sebém e Tony Amado - Capuetepuete
The unnespected hapening again!
Sebém put out of the trone Tony Amado by the middle of the 9ties. Ten years latter here they hare singing together in a set previously seen as improbable.
Tony Amado - Boa Noite (kuduro forever) - 2007
The last Tony Amado, kuduro creator in the beguin of the 9ties, album has 14 tracks, but only one is in kuduro style.
He's now a mainstream artist that want to stay mainstream, so he goes through kizomba, merengue and whatever tunes that hare in the hit of the moment.
Anyway, Tony Amado is respected by all angolan kuduristas and he organize kuduro shows when asked.
Long live to Tony Amado!!!
Dj Amorin - Kumystic
If Tony Amado is the father of Kuduro sound, Dj Amorin is the mother! Those men, Amado and Amorin, are the starters of all this kuduro crazynes.
In this music, from the earliers 9ties, we can hear the international music influences and the diference from old classic kuduro with sparse vocalisation and new kuduro bands style tendences of put the Mc in the first plan, more like hip-hop style.
Puto Prata with Bruno M - Cara Podre
Puto Prata it's guiving a lift to Bruno M, two of the most dearest angolan kuduristas in a regular kuduro tune.
Dj Znóbia feat Nayo Crazy - Piada - 2006
Here he is! A set with Dj Znóbia, the most peculiar artist in the angolan scene.
Angolan people just don't care, about rock, pop or conceptual music. As long as they can dance angolan music, african music, brazillian music, or carabean sounds who needs adolescent WASP paranoias from a far material world?
Dj Znóbia start to be known about 13 years ago. He was dj animator with a electronic tendence in a country where tropical rythms rules, there's no place to anglo-saxonic pop, rock.
With is dj kit, Znóbia put angolan youth to electronic dance, in a time when only the famous now closed Luanda Pandemonium discothèque was playing electronic stuff.
Then, Znóbia start producing other peoples records and later is own records. Nowdays he wants to be a singer, not a very good singer, but he manage himself with that.
Dj Znóbia it's not a pure kudurista and he mooves through other angolan music styles. But he has a big word in kuduro guetho moovement as producer and with his own records.
In the beguin his records where mainly beats mixed with international electronic music. Then he progress to lots of original stuff, most of them with very naif sounds, some of them with extraordinary beats.
But, maybe because of that naiveté, he's the most original electronic angolan music producer. He does unnexpected mixes, incredible wrong ways of doing the musical arrangements, but, again, this makes him incomparable, and in my humble opinion, the only angolan dj with a true international beat.
The only question: his music can be gorgeous or ridiculous, but always worth a listening.
He will be often with us, here, as you guess...
Os Vagabanda - "Inove" 2008 Musseke-Kuduro
"Inove", the success from 2008 from Os Vagabanda. It starts to be eard everywhere, in kandongueiro's blue vans, in a group of friends drinking bears stoped at border of the roads. From homes, with a party or whithout a party.
"Inove! - Assim é que tá bater!", is the cry from Luanda youth, and it means that things are going alright!
Let me translate it to you:
"Inove" it's an abreviation/neologism from a question. Like: "How are things going in the Summer?" The answer: "It's beating!" (Going well)
So, in portugese: Question - "Inove?" = "E no Verão?" Answer - "Tá Bater!" = (Está muito bem)
Elocubration: "And Summering?" "It's beatin up!"
KudurOmatic For You!!!
Kalunga feat PP - Não Vai Na Banda 2008 - Yes, the kids from the musseques hare producing...
Os Bem Falado - Sony - Mars 2008
Since I restart this angolan kuduro site, à vrai dire since 14 April, three days ago, I have had plenty of unnespected reactions. For instance, I've made the discovery that I work everyday, in the printery factory that I manage, with a kuduro vocalist, Careca, who sings in the Os Bem Falados kuduro band, a typical guetho kuduro sound.
When I've asked him the reason why this music is called "Sony" he answer me that this tune it's an homage to the best technical sound stuff, and for him, the best is Sony. So, "Sony" has an angolan guetho kuduro homage to their technical brilliance!
Arigatô!!! Twapandula!
Os De Faya - Socorro - 2008
Another exemple of spoked kuduro, also in the gangsta-kuduro inspiration!
Noite e Dia - Eu Vou Falar - 2008
Noite e Dia come from ghetto but is slowly growing a reputation and getting better and better sound production.
For me, in this 2008 disc I'm presenting here in a exclusive preview Noite e Dia sound is the best recorded. But the good recorded doesn't mean that it will be a big success here in Angola.
Bruno M - 60 Segundos
Bruno M is the actual leader of the non-mainstream market, once Os Lambas becomed the stars of the moment, and maybe, the stars of the last year.
Because, for this year, every week see a new cd-r out with 15 tracks, with maybe 10 or 8 different kuduristas, and from those, maybe 5 or 4 hare first time recorders. All of them wanting to be the next big thing of the year.
Day-by-day Angolan citizen takes ghetto Kuduro as a chewing, chiclettes quoi! You take the sugar and taste, and then take another for a while...
One thing I can't ever tell: is when a track will be a explosive success! Nobody can, maybe. And I'm always surprised by the reasons, or why, Angolan people like this one, or that other, new Kuduro.
Angolan mind is very peculiar: at the same time gregary and with a national maturity that comes from the forced displacements all over the country for this last 27 years of war ended in 2002.
By the other way, Angolan day-by-day citizens are very pride of his local origins or languages. Please, remember that Angola size is twice the size of, for instance, la France.
This double pride, the national and the local pride, it may have camed from the youthnes of the nation (becomes independent in 1975), this pride has been present in those 28 years of civil war, both sides pride, is still present in every one, with the sur plus of being since 2002 in peace.
Six years of economic development with big numbers per year (around 20%) but, without a palpable social grown. No massive new jobs plan (Chinese workers by thousands came to work and then, after a while, they leave, and others coming, in a circle.
It is in this context of no public presence of the state dues and responsibilities, still no public water at home, no public light energy, no public ordures recollection, crime at every hour of the day, tropical rains, dirty water at home, dirty water in the street, dirty water a the school, hot nights, moustiques... you guess the rest, in a tow with almost five millions souls, and where only one million does not live in museke, ghetto, that this youth borned, gowned, married in those sordid places that have to be called home, (home, sordid home), and make a cry, or sing, or dance, or smile and have a voice. A social voice.
They hare now called as Gangsta-kuduritas. But they aren't gangsters! They live in violent places, so they speak about what they see, live, sometimes die (Lead singer from Os Lambas has been shot dead by the police, by mistake with another guy who had the same name)
Prakatá?
Another exclusive from our site presenting an unusual collaboration between Kuduro and Angolan rock band Neblina, the only Angolan rock band to ever release a rock cd in the market in January 2006, called Innocence Falls In Decay. Check it out at http://neblinametal.podomatic.com
The big kudurista Sebém, Dj Znóbia and Neblina rock band in a kuduro festival in 2006 where Neblina was the special guest. In the end of Neblina presentation a free style with Sebém and the impromptu show up from Znóbia. Just pay attention in to the public that goes to the plateau moving with feline gestures. (Who's that white drummer?)
In the end everybody was very excited. The project to record a proper studio session of a Rock-kuduro theme is still in the air. Michel lead guitar from Neblina and Sebém are trying to manage a tune. Wait and see...
Os Lambas - Dança do Gueto
Exclusive worldwide première 2008 new Lambas album preview still inedit and most expected even in Angola.
Os Lambas - Tá Doçado - 2008
Exclusive for us a preview of the new Os Lambas, not yet selling here in Luanda, but that we can ear here. A kindness of my friend Lenine from historic Marçal quartier in Luanda.
A big exclusive world wide, including Angola!
Semal - Dom
Another favourite from the late 9ties. Semal it means the opposite of Sebém. Sebém it means all right; Semal it means All Bad. Semal is still active but more mainstream than we can hear it here in this late 90's live presentation, so, now days, he has less charm than in this ravage show time.
Puto Machado - Manuela
This is one of my favourites late 90's Kuduros.
It's a sort of hard-core Kuduro, reminding the Prodigi aggressive sound, or even The Chemical Brothers speed.
Puto Machado lost in time, and these explicit lyrics talk nothing but Manuela's pussy.
This is not surely mainstream Kuduro to beach party soft Dj!
