What’s love got to do with it? A whole lot, actually. Love is the first characteristic in this list about the fruit of the Spirit. It’s first because it’s the number one characteristic of God Himself. But it’s not the kind of love you may be thinking. Check out this message to see what we mean!
What do you want? Deep down, beyond the surface stuff. A little more peace in your home? A little more joy in your life? A little more gentleness or kindness? How about self-control to stop doing what you know is self-destructive? What do you really want? What you really want and what God wants for you might be closer than you realize. And it all starts with a grape vine…

Each quality listed in Galatians 5:22-23 is a quality that describes Jesus. God knows that in order for us to flourish in this new life with Jesus, we have to be conformed by the Spirit to the likeness of Jesus. Trouble is, we’re fighting against the pull of sin and the human nature within us that resists God’s ways. There is a way to overcome it, though. Listen in to find out what it is!

The Holy Spirit isn’t the only gift Jesus has given us. Actually, the Spirit himself will keep giving us gifts, special abilities that enable us to do the work God has called us to do. The Spirit wants to give you gifts too. Curious about what they might be? Well listen in and you might find out!
What do electric cars, espresso machines, airplanes, and MRI machines have in common? They can all do amazing things, but only if they have a power source. In the New Testament, Christians did amazing things! They boldly shared Jesus, they healed the sick, they cared for the poor, and they took on the forces of evil with the forces of love. The Christian faith is about more than showing up on Sundays and reading your Bible 15 minutes a day. What if the adventure of a lifetime awaits you? What if all that is missing is the power of the Spirit?

When Jesus was still on earth, He said that when He left, He would send the Holy Spirit in His stead. The Holy Spirit was not a consolation prize, it was always the plan, because Jesus in you is better than Jesus beside you. Not so sure? Check out this message!

The incredible stories in the Book of Acts are a result of the work of Jesus’ Spirit, not excellent preaching or charismatic personalities. And that same Spirit wants to work inside of you! All you have to do is ask for the Spirit to fill you. Feeling a little hesitant? Maybe this message will help you!

Jesus’s power produces the miraculous in our lives. By his divine power, he takes the little we have and creates more than enough for us and others. We just have to offer our little first. He waits for us to participate. Don’t think he can use your little? Why don’t you take a genuine listen to this before you walk away…

Offense. It's a trigger word that represents the triggered culture we Westerners live in, especially in the United States. We're afraid to offend, and we're often quick to take offense. But what if you could step out of the chaos of offense with all its traps and hidden buttons? What if you could live unoffendable and extend grace to offenders? Take a look and see for yourself....
JUST FORGET ABOUT IT?
Hurt. Betrayal. Resentment. Anger. Sadness. Bitterness. Offense. It’s easy to get consumed with these emotions in our relationships.
So what do we do when forgiveness seems far out of reach? Just forget about it? Jesus teaches us there is a better way to let go of the past for good and embrace true forgiveness for the future.

Forgiveness. What does that conjure up for you? "Forgive and forget," "It's water under the bridge," or "No big deal?" But what about when it is a big deal, and it hurts deeply? Surely Jesus understands that there are some times when forgiveness isn't possible, right? Actually, there's more to forgiveness than you may think... Why don't you come and see for yourself?

Jesus came proclaiming a new paradigm for who are the winners and who are the losers. The Kingdom of God belongs to those who know that they are spiritually lost, wandering without purpose, trapped in the habits that are destroying them. These are the ones who hear Jesus calling out to them and respond with their whole heart. Does any of that resonate with you? We invite you to listen in and find peace.

Jesus came proclaiming a new paradigm for who are the winners and who are the losers. Oddly enough, God is drawn to the ones who are sick, who know they need healing. Sometimes God allows us to walk a bitter road so that we might come to know Him more fully as Jehovah-Rapha, the God who Heals. Do you need healing? May you find comfort in this message.

Calling. It's an unclear term. The word has so many layers of meaning, even within Christianity. So what does it mean to be called by God? Is it hearing God's voice? Or does it mean traveling halfway around the world to be a missionary? Or can it be as simple as living intentionally at home or in the workplace? Check out this message by Pastor Mark to find out!

Have you ever thought about the significance of where Jesus did most of His ministry? Not among the powerful and influential, but among the ones in need, oppressed, overlooked, sick. He came to bring life and hope, so He went to the ones looking for it. That’s where our spiritual battles are fought: where hopelessness and hope meet. And those battlelines are drawn throughout the spaces and relationships you engage with everyday. Need some fresh strength for the battles in your life? Check out this message!

Is there something insurmountable in front of you that you know needs to be dealt with but you just can’t see a way out? Jonathan knew he had to overcome the Philistines, but how could he when he was one against thousands? Simply put, he knew God could do the impossible, and so he just took the next step without all the answers. Need some of that in your life? "Does it matter whether I read the Bible? I mean, I can find out so much about it from the internet, I don't even have to crack it open. It may even be more accurate info than what I would decipher." If you are wondering about whether it is worth reading the Bible yourself, Pastor Jess says, "Yes!" Find out why in this message!

Who is Jesus? No, really! A swirl of ideas, myths, and dogmatic beliefs surround the person of Jesus, so that sometimes it is hard to know who is the man and who is the myth. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus demonstrates God's love for the misfits when He invites Matthew the traitor to follow Him and become His disciple. People were shocked! Check it out!

Have you heard about the tabloid-worthy scandal of the Christmas Story? Joseph and Mary are engaged and chaste, but then Mary becomes pregnant. "Who is the father, Mary? God? Really? I know how this works." In that time, this would have been an act worthy of capital punishment. Mary's story is true, but the fallout of obedience is costly. Check out this message for a perspective you may not have considered before.
Have you ever noticed how many Christmas movies involve someone who just does not fit in? The Grinch, Buddy the Elf, Rudolph come to mind immediately. Interestingly, the first Christmas was not much different. A sketchy family tree, a scandalous birth, a wild man running around the desert eating honey, and then there is a supposed savior of the world who entered the world as a baby. The story of Jesus’ arrival on earth actually sets the tone for the exact people Jesus came to reach: the outcast, downtrodden, meek, poor, and marginalized – what our culture terms as Misfits!

Does talking about religious zeal and repentance leave a bad taste in your mouth and the beginnings of shame or anger in your gut? Us too. If you've been exposed to Christianity, you might have encountered various versions of passionate people who came across judgemental and harsh, but the truth is that the Gospel really is amazingly Good News! John the Baptizer, cousin of Jesus, understood this, and Pastor Lindsey does a great job drawing that out of his story. Looking for the truth beyond your negative experiences? When we think of Jesus Christ, often we think about his being the guy everyone wants as their friend. He's perfect, right? The Son of God! Who do you want people to remember you as? What do want your legacy to be? Joshua stood before Israel and old man. Not only that, but when we confess our sin and receive the forgiveness of Christ and allow ourselves to be adopted into God's family, we are inducted into this long, incredible line of faithful humans. Looking for a better life? Check out this message!

God's promises often require our participation to bring them to fulfillment. Not because God couldn't do it all on His own, but because He wants us to feel a sense of ownership and responsibility. Caleb knew God had promised to give him an inheritance in the Promised Land. Though he had to wait 45 years for it to be fulfilled, Caleb held onto that promise; and when Joshua led the people into the Promised Land, Caleb did his part by claiming the portion allotted to him. Are there some promises you haven't seen come to fulfillment yet? Listen in as Pastor Mark walks us through Joshua 14!

Who loves change? Anyone? Anyone? Yeah, most of us avoid the pain of change for as long as we can. But God's promises often require us to change something in order to embrace the promise. Change our habits, change our language, change our expectations, change our occupations -- and following through on those changes is obedience. And obedience requires dependence on your Heavenly Father, who is good and his promises are good. So why do we resist being obedient?

What is courage? In Joshua chapter 1, God tells Joshua to be strong and courageous. As the stories of Joshua unfold, the concept of courage begins to take shape: it's about hearing the summons of God and taking action, even when you're scared, even when the odds seem insurmountable. Why? because God is trustworthy. Not sure you believe that? Check out this message to see Pastor Mark reveals about it.

Pastor Jess and Tess marvel at all Jesus has done in Tess's life, from how she knew at a young age that Jesus loved her to how He faithfully pursued her down the dark paths of addiction and loneliness. Your New Beginnings will succeed more often when they have a community to plug into. This is true of the gym, a writer's guild, a AA group, a finance accountability program. It is especially true of any spiritual new beginning. Thankfully, Jesus gave us the global body we call the Church, including its local expressions, like The Valley Church. The truth is that the Church needs you just like you need the church, but how does it work? Where do you fit in that local expression? Listen into this message from Pastor Mark to find out!

You ready to let go and move into a new beginning? Check out this message for a way to do just that!

God isn't a killjoy. He, as the master Engineer and Creative Mind, has designed a good and beautiful way to the love and fulfillment we all hope for and desire. In the realm of romantic relationships, God's design is marriage. Yet we often don't act like we believe Him and His good intentions for us. We fall into doing married things before we are married, which adds layers of shame and guilt and dissatisfaction to this beautiful relationship. Are you looking for relationship wisdom? Check out this message. Would

However, just ignoring a topic has never led to greater understanding so in this series, we are not running away from hard conversations as we are going to address the “elephant in the room.” This series might make you squirm a little (it did for us!) but we want to be a church filled with grace and truth so, here we go!!

God's love is relentless. It finds us in our darkest moments, and it speaks the truth we need to hear. AJ shares his journey through the brokenness of transgender and homosexuality, and yet he reminds those who listen that it's not his story: it's God's story. God never gave up on AJ, and along the way, God drew him out of his lifestyle and into a church where he could receive the healing of God through community. This is a powerful story with something to encourage all of us. If you need hope that God still sees, loves, and at work in our lives, why don't you listen to this message?

Sometimes the most devastating pain is emotional and mental. Sometimes it comes upon us and we don't know why or what to do with it. Unfortunately, this kind of pain is easier to hide than a physical ailment, but it can be just as hard to live with. Depression and anxiety cloud our minds and steal our joy. If you struggle with this kind of pain or know someone who does, take some time to listen and explore the resources offered. And if you need someone to talk to, let us know!

"Busy is not better." This week, Pastor Mark invites us to take an honest, hard look at our family calendars. Want to discover a better way, albeit one that will challenge your way of life? Take a listen!

Shelly Rittenhouse closes our series with a reminder that we aren't on our own. The God who saved us and filled us with His Spirit is the One calling and equipping us for every Kingdom effort. His grace is at work everywhere, and there is nothing God calls us to that He has not already made provision for. What is God calling you to? The Bible talks about many types of spaces and places. There is the ark where Noah and his family went during the flood, there is the tabernacle, then the temple where God’s presence dwelt. There are places like Bethlehem where Jesus was born and Jerusalem where the church started. Then, there is even the space of the entire cosmos that God created, and where humanity lives. We understand that spaces and places exist, but do we believe that everywhere is sacred space and every place can be an opportunity for life change to occur? In this original series, we are going to discover how God can use any place or space to see His power manifested in the lives of others.Join us for service every Sunday at 9:15am or 11:00am (EST). Pastor Mark brings it this service talking about How God shows up in some random places and makes them holy. Jacob, on the run to save his life, rests for the night in a seemingly random place, but it's in this place, with a rock for a pillow, that Jacob encounters God in a profound way. Sometimes we are the ones in a hard place where we need an experience of God. Other times, we get to be the messenger of God to those in hard places. Where do you find yourself?

Pastor Lindsey opens this new series by inviting us to come with fresh eyes to the story Noah. You've probably encountered something of this story whether in babies' nursery artwork, children's church, or debates on the plausibility of a worldwide flood. But there's more here than just those things. Noah's story is actually a great place to start our journey into our own spaces and places. Find that hard to believe? Check it out!

What does it mean to tithe? Is the church just hurting for money, or is there more to it? What if we told you that surrendering that first tenth of your earnings, returning it to God who gave it to you in the first place, would unleash God's favor in your life? God isn't a vending machine to get whatever we want, but He is a good Dad who gives what we need, (except it's hard to receive when we are too busy clenching onto what we think we need). You’ve heard the phrase “First things first”? It means that whatever is most important, that needs to be FIRST on the list. So, what if we said that about God? Our money? Our generosity to others? What would rise to the top? Are the most important things really the first ones on our list?

What does it mean to be generous? Our culture talks about paying it forward, but what does God say about it? Often we limit it to financial giving, but Pastor Alan Leach leads us to consider generosity as a lifestyle. Through his own story, Pastor Alan opens up to us the blessings of generosity, even when life gets really hard.

Pastor Lindsey Murphy came in from Alabama to share to Word. What a Word, too! She reminds us that the same spirit of courage that Daniel and his 3 friends had is what God makes available to us when He calls us to take big steps of faith for Him and for His Kingdom. Do you know that you lack courage? Grab a notepad and sit down to listen to this powerful message....

It’s so easy just to live as the world around us but that doesn’t lead to a life of great peace – or one that is deeply fulfilling, wildly exciting, and full of meaning. To live that life we have to live with resolve, with a God-focus -- aligned with how He designed us. But how do we make it more than a few weeks?

Pastor Mark Coulter unpacks Daniel chapter 9 and Daniel's intercessory prayer. After Daniel read the scrolls of the prophet Jeremiah, he realized all that his people had done wrong, so he prays for God to forgive him and his people and restore them again. If you've ever struggled with prayer, learn from this passage and the example of a humble prayer....

Pastor Mark continues this new series called Resolve. This time we focus on Daniel's friends Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. It's not just food this time. These three Jews are being commanded to worship the golden statue of the King of Babylon. There's no doubt about the consequences this time: whoever does not bow will be burned alive. To live that life we have to live in reverse, living with a God-focus - aligned with how He designed us. But how do we make it more than a few weeks?

God fulfilled His rescue mission with the sending of Jesus. Isaiah captures in poetic snapshot the span of Jesus' life in Isaiah 53:1-5. He came as a tender shoot, a baby born in a manger, and died on the cross as one considered accursed. There was no grandeur about Him, no palace or political presence about Him. He was homeless traveling preacher and miracle worker. You and I may have found Him fascinating, but we would have scoffed at the idea that He was Messiah: He acted nothing like what we'd been taught to expect. But in scoffing, we would have been in danger of missing the most precious gift anyone can receive: the gift of life. Have you received His gift?

The story of Christmas is a story of a rescue mission, a covert operation to save people from a deadly evil. But this rescue mission didn't begin with the Baby Jesus in a manger. Rather, this mission started a few thousand years prior. This week Pastor Mark dives into the story of Isaiah in Chapter 6 where he beholds God in God's throne room. It's there that Isaiah feels the weight of the sin of him and his people. After God cleanses him, Isaiah overhears God asking, who will speak to the people on my behalf? This is another step in the Great Mission of Redemption! And it is one of the most uncomfortable.

The story of Christmas is a story of a rescue mission, a covert operation to save people from a deadly evil. But this rescue mission didn't begin with the Baby Jesus in a manger. Rather, this mission started a few thousand years prior when God called Jesus's ancestor Abram to trust God and obey God's instructions to leave all he knew and head into the unknown. That call came with a promise of blessing, not just for the childless Abram and Sarai but for all people through them. But what does this story have to do with us today?

Pastor Mark wraps up our series named Idols today by talking about pleasure. Pleasure isn't a bad thing in and of itself, but if we rely on anything or anyone other than God for satisfaction, security, and comfort, we have elevated that person or thing to the place of God in our lives. We hope you find encouragement and direction for your lives through this message!

Pastor Cindy continues our series on Idols with the topic of our work. Work isn't bad in and of itself. It is actually good, designed by God for us before evil corrupted it. But even good things can become bad things when they keep us from the best things. But how do we navigate our work in a way that doesn't make it an idol when so much of our US culture drives us toward that end?

Last week launched us into a new series. Pastor Mark got us thinking about how so many different things in our lives, if we aren't careful, can creep in and challenge God's place in our lives. This week, Pastor Mark cut straight to the heart of modern day idolatry around stuff and money. We pursue money and toys and extra, and then wonder why it is never enough. Why don't we ever feel satisfied in our pursuit of things?

Idols are not just statues or objects found in certain religions. They are created things that become such a focus for us that we deflect our worship from God to those things. Idols keep us from knowing the God we were created to serve and from living out our purpose in this life. Pastor Mark opens up this new series, setting the table for the next three messages where get specific about stuff, work, and pleasure.

Who do you go to for money advice? Your friends, maybe your parents, a financial advisor, perhaps even google? I’ll bet you wouldn’t go to a crook, but shockingly Jesus uses the story of a common everyday criminal as an example of how to handle our money and the point He shares is absolutely counter to what you might think you’d hear. This Sunday, don't miss the conclusion of our Money Madness series as I dive into an entertaining, and at the same time, powerful and challenging message about money and possessions. If you were to take a look at your life and break down what you do each day, you’d really start to see what your priorities are. The same is true of the money you have – how you use it is like a neon sign pointing to what you care about most. What does how you invest and spend your money say about you? In our current series Money Madness, we’ll take a look at what the Bible says about money and how to invest it, so our hearts move toward God and away from the madness money can bring to our lives.

How would you describe God in a few words? Would warrior be one of those words? Most people probably wouldn’t list that as one of the images to describe who God is and when He’s like, but the Bible does. And if God is a warrior what does that really mean for us? In this two-week series, called Ultimate Warrior, we’ll explore what it means to be a warrior and what stands in our way.
In today’s sermon, we will focus on how fear affects us personally and how we should live above fear. Our fears are not primarily caused by external things. Our fears come from within us.
It’s one of the biggest days of the year-Superbowl Sunday! Join us as we invite former OSU Bobby Carpenter to speak!
Last week, we talked about wisdom, and it is important to look at God’s wisdom when dealing with the topic of sex. Sex was created by Him, so why not look at the owner’s manual to see how things work. God created sex as an essential gift for marraige.
Join us as we dive into the question of what wisdom really is, and more specifically what God’s wisdom means to us and in our lives. By looking at the book of Proverbs, we are met with God’s wisdom.
The Bible tells us there are two directions, two different paths that we can take in life. One leads to our demise and the other leads to success and satisfaction. One is called the way of foolishness and the other is called the way of wisdom. You will be very surprised on what this wisdom can do for us.
Why are we so tired? Some of us are exhausted and weary– a kind of tired sleep can’t fix. We feel like a butter knife when we need to be razor-sharp. What’s up? Come Sunday, as we finish our series Hitting the Gym and learn how to become the best version of who God made us to be.
For the final sermon in our series “Hitting the Gym”, we’ll dive into what’s been called the forgotten commandment. It’s God’s plan for our lives and when we get ahold of it, we’ll have more peace, be more joyful, have more energy, and be more productive in our lives.
Join us as we continue our series “Hitting the Gym” with week three focusing on ‘Transforming Conversations". . In this critical start to the new year, we’re uncovering the secrets to becoming the best version of who God made us to be and examining a daily set of practices that will help us reach the spiritual goal that God has for all of us. You can do it and we want to help!
Is prayer disappointing to you? Is it time to see it differently? What if prayer is to look less like a vending machine and be more of a conversation that transforms us and connects us to our loving Father? The disciples followed Jesus everywhere and saw him do all kinds of amazing things. They could have asked Him to teach them about all sorts of things but what captured their attention was how He prayed and what happened when He did. So they asked him to teach them to pray.
What He gave them (and us) goes way beyond some words we can say.
Join us as we continue our series “Hitting the Gym” with week two focusing on ‘Total Immersion". . In this critical start to the new year, we’re uncovering the secrets to becoming the best version of who God made us to be and examining a daily set of practices that will help us reach the spiritual goal that God has for all of us. You can do it and we want to help!
What if I told you that reading the Bible alone is not enough to produce a lasting change that blesses you and others? Come Sunday to discover what we mean, and to discover the secret to changing everything that isn’t godly in your life. We’ll also give you a fool-proof way to know how you are doing!
Join us in our first week of our new series, Hitting the gym, where we’ll discover why that is and what to do about it. We’ll uncover the secrets to becoming the best version of who God made us to be and we’ll examine a daily set of practices that will help us reach the spiritual goal that God has for all of us.
Why is it that so many people start to make changes in the new year only to lose motivation and quit a few weeks later?Would you believe it's small things that will lead us to big changes? Which means you can totally do it… and we want to help!

With the thousands of people mentioned in the Bible, there are very few whose lives are described in one sentence. One of these is a man named Barnabas. What sets apart Barnabas and how you can experience the same meaning and purpose in your life? We all want our lives to count for something bigger than ourselves. Come sit with us and discover how to achieve that dream.
Join us for the final week of our Revelation series with Pastor Mark Coulter – ‘Heaven & Hell – Real Places’. If you’ve missed any so far be sure to catch up on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsF7kB4cIjWx3z2qUZJac5VDlxbNtNTIM.
The book of Revelation is the unveiling of how the end times are going to go down, Jesus’ victory over evil, and what that means for how we must live in the moments we have right now. This book was written for first-century believers who were facing overwhelming persecution and needed real hope that the joy and spiritual rest they were designed to have. It gave them the strength to continue and persevere. Revelation is also for believers today so that we’ll keep our eyes on the one who ensures we can be overcomers in a world of sin and evil. We’ll discover that the rich imagery and symbolism point to some literal truths that are paths for us to follow in the sometimes confusing, difficult and sometimes heartbreaking spiritual war we find ourselves in.

Join us for a special Sunday morning of worship this week. Our worship team has some amazing music for you and Shelly Rittenhouse will be sharing some of what has been weighing on her heart about perseverance.
Join us this week to hear the third and final week in our sermon series ‘Living a Questionable Life’. We’ll wrap up with ‘For Us’ from Pastor Andy Monnin.
Esther, who was definitely a hero to the Jewish nation, is not the actual hero of the book of Esther – God is. His name is never mentioned in this short Old Testament book, but his hand of providence is seen in every verse. It’s actually like using reverse psychology to highlight God in an even greater way.
In this 3-week series from the book of Esther, we’ll look at how Esther used the place God had positioned her for His purposes and to make Him famous. She lived a life that was questionable – a life that, then and today, fuels our curiosity and moves us to discover what moved her to risk her life for God’s people. Together, we’ll discover how we can live a life that is “questionable”, and how we can allow God to use our lives for His glory.
Join us this week as hear the second week in our 3 week sermon series ‘Living a Questionable Life’. This week we’ll hear from Pastor Lindsey Murphy with ‘Positioned’.

Join us this Sunday for the fourth and final week of our sermon series ‘Family Foundations’. This week Pastor Mark will share the sermon ‘Being Lonely is Optional’ and spend some time delving into step families.
God created family as the basic relationship building block of life on earth but it takes a fair amount of work to make family what God designed it to be. In The Family Plan, we’ll examine some of the key fundamentals of biblical family life, areas where people are especially struggling today. Great teams focus on getting the fundamentals right and when they do they win. God designed some fundamentals for family and when we live out those fundamentals the family wins, the church wins, the world wins, and yes, we win!

Join us for Easter Sunday and the final week of our 4-week Easter series Where’s the Lamb? We’ll finish up with communion and the message ‘Can I Really Start Over’ from Pastor Mark Coulter.
Years ago there was a book series called "Where's Waldo". It had numerous pages filled with sketches that had an overwhelming amount of people and other objects in them. You’d scan the page looking for a character named Waldo in all that clutter. It felt impossible but finding Waldo was the goal. Spiritually, we often feel like we’re in the same boat. We’re searching for forgiveness and hope and peace and a second chance. We’re searching through the clutter of the spiritual landscape looking for someone or something that can save us and bring meaning and new hope to our lives. In this Easter series, we’ll discover that God has provided a lamb in every age to be sacrificed in our place, so we can experience His new and abundant life. In this series, we’re going to go on a journey from Genesis 8, where the first lamb was slain in our place - to the cross and the resurrection of Jesus, asking this question, “Where’s the lamb?” And the good news…God has pointed the lamb out to us so that we can’t miss Him.

Join us for the fourth and final week of our sermon series – The Almighty Dollar with ‘I’m Yours’ from Pastor Cindy Porter.
Did you know money reveals who and what we’re really trusting in? The truth is how we handle money has the power to shape our lives and is tied to the blessings we long to receive in this life and the next. Unfortunately, money matters are an area we tend to hold back from Him and because of it we experience a spiritual poverty. During this 4-week sermon series, we’ll discover how God wants us to handle the almighty dollar so we can receive and experience all that God has for us. Together, we’ll learn how to trust God with everything we have and position ourselves to receive the blessing He wants to pour into the lives of people who put Him first.

Did you know that full devotion to God is not optional? He is looking for people who are going to use their time, talents, and treasures to serve Him, and Him only. This week, as part of the sermon, we are going to hear from someone who is living a fully devoted life, Luke Elie. Luke trains basketball coaches and develops players in South Korea, China, Myanmar, and numerous other countries. Plus, he coached the first US basketball team to ever play in North Korea.

There is no denying the amount of things we share on social media. We share our opinion, pictures of our cute kids, pictures of our pandemic puppies, pictures of the best meal you have ever eaten, adventures, Bible verses, and links to articles that everyone just has to read. Pastor Lindsey shares that while she sees prayer requests and praise reports, she doesn’t read about the work Jesus is doing in the lives of those that she follows on social media. So here's the question - Have you had a sharable encounter with Jesus?

Join us for the fourth and final week of our ‘Be True to Yourself’ series. Pastor Mark wraps things up with ‘Should The Church Care About the Environment’? Culture says being true to yourself is the real meaning of life these days – but what does God say about that? How do we discover who we are and what really provides meaning for our lives here on earth? Be True to Yourself? …is a 4-week journey to find out together. We're going back to the beginning in the book Genesis to explore what it means to be true to ourselves as God designed us and how that will lead us to live a life of purpose, meaning, significance and sheer joy. Receiving the gift of ourselves is the path that leads to a life worth living and allows us to navigate all the big questions we all face in today's world.

You can be in relationship with Jesus who would rather walk the blood path than let you go. Because He served as the final substitute for sin, you can be forgiven.

Join us for the third week of our Unexpected Christmas series – ‘Heaven on Earth’ from Pastor Mark Coulter. We would all agree that what happened in 2020 was unexpected. Did you know the first Christmas was also incredibly unexpected? It was full of unexpected people who were part of totally unexpected events that led to an unexpected rescue operation. Who would have thought that a godly peasant girl would get unexpectedly pregnant, heavenly angels would announce the coming of a king to and an unexpected group - some lowly shepherds, a helpless baby supposed to be king would be born in a manger and heaven would establish a beachhead on earth amidst cows, donkeys and dung? It’s not what God’s people were expecting and because of that many missed what God was doing in it all and what He had planned. But for those who saw God’s fingerprints in the unexpected and believed, everything changed. God did the unexpected that Christmas so we can live with expectation today.

Join us for the fourth and final week in our series Pivot – this week we will hear from Pastor Mark Coulter with ‘Pulling Off a Pivot’. One thing we can always count on is change. The year 2020 isn’t over yet, and even if no more crazy, weird things happen, it’s still a year that will go down in the history books as incredibly disruptive to the status quo. And in times like these, if there is one thing we need to learn, it’s the art of the PIVOT. You see it in the game of basketball. A player is moving in a certain direction, stops, and pivots another way. Life requires pivots as well. In this series, we are going to look at some people in the Book of Acts who had to make that decision, how they pivoted and what we can learn about making our own pivots from them. God will use every kind of circumstance in our lives for good if we are willing to pivot from our natural instincts and move toward God’s purpose. When our plans get derailed, our dreams shipwrecked, our life gets turned upside down, or a door get slammed shut, how are we to respond? Do we dig in our heels and try harder? Do we follow our emotions and give in to what’s overwhelming? Do we give up and quit? Or do we make a pivot?

Join us for the fourth and final week of our new series, Is That Really in the Bible where we look at the story of a talking donkey. Ever thought the Bible was pretty strait-laced? Really good, but predictable? Guess you haven’t read the stories we’ll look at in this message series. Some stories in the Bible are just plain crazy and we’re going to take a good look at 4 of them: Stories that include a talking donkey, an assassin who saves the day, a bear attack on some mouthy kids, plus an example of tent peg diplomacy by a heroine no one would have predicted. These stories and others just like them can get awkward. We struggle to understand why they are even in God’s Word. But maybe God is using these crazy accounts to teach us some crazy important things we otherwise might miss?

Join us this week for the fourth and final week of our sermon series ‘Bringing Heaven Down’ – Reconciliation. What if you and I could start bringing some of what Heaven will be like down to earth? In the new message series, called Bringing Heaven Down, we’ll discover that we can. In fact, Jesus spent much of his time here on earth, teaching His disciples and others about how the kingdom of God works and how to spread the Kingdom to every part of our world. This King and His Kingdom is radically different than any other and if we don’t understand that we’ll miss the power they have to transform our lives and our world. This King and the Kingdom of God has the ability to meet every need, heal every brokenness and move the world to be more like Heaven. Join us for a series that will change our world!

You know what seems really dangerous these days? Having a difference of opinion with someone. Dis-agreeing. Seeing something very different than someone else. So What If We Don’t Agree? Join us and find out as we continue our latest teaching series called, "Sit with It", where we explore the difficult questions you have been mulling over in your minds. We’ll be veering into some pretty edgy territory with this topic. I hope you are ready for what we’ll find because once we see what God’s Word has to say about how to disagree and what to disagree on, we’ll give you some handles on how to navigate those disagreements with other people. All that may mean changes for every one of our lives.

It's Easter Sunday and Hope is here. Jesus Christ has risen from the dead! Death has been conquered. The new world has begun. United with Jesus, nothing can destroy us. The worst pains of life cannot rob us of the hope of His life. Jesus’ resurrection means we can live resurrected! Join us as we celebrate Easter and learn how we can live resurrected! Plus, for every person who attends a service this weekend we will donate $1 to the “Epidemic of Love” – a fund we’ve created to help people in need who are struggling in this crisis, either directly or through partner organizations. The more you share our services and invite, the more we give away as a church (up to $10,000). 100% of what comes in will be given away!#EasteratTheValley #tvctroy #wearethevalley

Luke, a doctor, and historian, as well as one of Jesus’s disciples, captures and records eyewitness testimony of the events leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection. In viewMaster, we’re going to join Luke as he investigates four views of the week before and after Jesus’ death and resurrection. We'll gather the evidence and consider the facts for ourselves - so we can come to our own conclusion and once and for all know and believe that Jesus truly is the Messiah. This is week one of our Easter series, ViewMaster at The Valley Church in Troy, Ohio.
