For even the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many. How do we overcome our doubts? How do we increase our faith? Sometimes we think that by ridding ourselves of difficulties or by ignoring our problems we would have more faith and be able to see God's power at work in our lives. Jesus had a different solution: prayer. It's often the last thing we think of, but Jesus said that there are some things that only happen through prayer. This Sunday, Pastor Robert Fonseca looks at one of Jesus's healings and explains how faith is vital to see God's power at work. --Sermon from January 16, 2022 To learn more about Renaissance Christian Church and our service times, visit http://ren.church/ (https://ren.church/).
For even the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many. In addition to seeing the remarkable miracles and teachings of Jesus up close, certain disciples had a chance to witness the glory of Jesus on display in an event we call the Transfiguration. But what was the transfiguration, and why is it important to us to discover? --Sermon from January 2, 2022 To learn more about Renaissance Christian Church and our service times, visit http://ren.church/ (https://ren.church/).

Jesus had a lot of teachings that people found hard to understand, but perhaps the hardest to digest for His disciples was His declaration that He would suffer and die at the hands of the chief priests and scribes. Yet that was the whole reason He came. Interestingly, the apostle Peter seemed to grasp this, even if it was in a small way. Pastor John Banman tells us more in a message from Mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emghBg04-aw&t=507s (8:27)-38 titled, "The Turning Point." --Sermon form October 24, 2021 To learn more about Renaissance Christian Church and our service times, visit http://ren.church/ (https://ren.church/).
Never tiring of giving us more stories of Jesus's healing, Mark records a couple gems in the seventh chapter of his Gospel. These two accounts show us the wide range (literally) of the Lord's ministry as He journeys to different places to reach very different people. Pastor Robert Fonseca demonstrates the power of Jesus to reach people's very specific needs. --Sermon from October 10, 2021 To learn more about Renaissance Christian Church and our service times, visit http://ren.church/ (https://ren.church/).
Tradition. It's typically a good thing, right? It could help a family or other group retain their identity or their history. But what happens when tradition supersedes what God actually asks us to do? This tension comes to a boiling point when the Pharisees confront Jesus in Mark 7. Pastor Robert Fonseca will describe exactly what their dispute entailed and why it's absolutely relevant for our spiritual lives today. In these passages, we also get some warnings to heed. --Sermon from September 26, 2021 To learn more about Renaissance Christian Church and our service times, visit http://ren.church/ (https://ren.church/).
In many of the miracles we've seen so far in the Gospel of Mark, Jesus displays His mastery over the created order. He shows His deity in how he transcends the natural law proves Himself the Creator. Pastor Robert Fonseca looks at the meaning of one of these miracles: Jesus's walking on the water. It was yet another instance where He astonished the disciples. --Sermon from September 19, 2021 To learn more about Renaissance Christian Church and our service times, visit http://ren.church/ (https://ren.church/).
Although they're harder to come by these days, large crowds aren't our favorite things. For us, crowds mean traffic congestion, longer wait lines, and, at their worst, unruly mobs. But when Jesus looked at a particular crowd in the Gospel accounts, He had a different reaction: He had compassion on them. Pastor Jared Saavedra teaches from Mark 6 and a miracle that's recorded in all four Gospels: the feeding of the 5,000. We'll observe what exactly drove Jesus to this spectacular work. --Sermon from September 12, 2021 To learn more about Renaissance Christian Church and our service times, visit http://ren.church/ (https://ren.church/).
The Gospel of Mark opens with the powerful and bold witness of John the Baptist, paving the way for Jesus. But John's ministry came to an abrupt end, as he is killed by Herod.
