Welcome, to the Sober SIsters Society Podcast! This podcast is fun, relatable, encouraging women’s sober support at the tap of a button! We’re real sisters who tell all about our experiences before and after putting down the bottle, and how we’re dealing with life today. We don't believe fear and shame did us any favors, so we're all about moving forward, trying to become better every day. It's working for us! We start each show with hilarious vignettes about our past, from the 70s on up, then pick a recovery-related topic to talk about. If you’re a sober or sober-curious woman, we cordially invite you to join us. You won’t want to miss it. And, always remember... don't drink like my sister! Love, Nicole and Tammieformerly the Sober Sisters Social Club
What we see on the surface is only a fraction of what's underneath it all. Just ask Tammie about the tip of the iceberg of her early escapades.
We're so happy to be back with the podcast and with y'all! Love, Tammie and Nicole

Hey everyone,
We just had to come on and talk about how staying in our own lanes has taken us away from drama, and how much better we feel since taking charge of our own recovery paths and driving our own soul train.

Yeah, alcohol and other vices are constantly in our faces. Yeah, it can be annoying AF to have it everywhere when you're alcohol-free or thinking about it. It looks completely different to these two sisters on the other side of toxic drinking, and it's a super interesting conversation. Thank you SO MUCH for tuning in. Love, Nicole and Tammie
Oh. My. Gosh. You guys. This is such a good talk with the Cox Sisters. Tammie and Nicole talk about learning basic life skills, how smart can be dumb, being insatiable, and figuring out how to stop being miserable. Pull up a seat and stay awhile. LYLAS 😘 Tammie and Nicole

This chapter of our lives is invite-only. That goes for alcohol, relationships, career choices... all of it.
Don't drink like my sister did (but you might want to check out how she's killing it sober). We read from our new book, Don't Drink Like My Sister, and dig into demystifying sober life and culture.

Holidays are a lot. They can be hard to navigate sober. Come back with us through wasted holidays, and forward as we navigate them without a drink. Happy holidays, we love you!
See being addicted to alcohol wasn't an accident; and these sisters figured out we've been addicted to chaos. Ugh.
Does it change how you think about whether to give up drinking when you think about what's YOUR last straw, instead of someone else's spoon-fed stereotype of "rock bottom?"
It did for us. Listen in, join us, viva la revolution!
We gained some things after we went alcohol-free, and we lost some too. We break it all down in this episode with 'ol sticky fingers and mean girl.
We talk about how to ride it our when first getting through life with our alcohol, but what then? At some point drinking's not the problem, so we choose what we want an how to proceed. We want to have fuuuuun and peace and balance, and we figured out how.
We reference a Mayo Clinic article about the health benefits of positive thinking, here's the link! https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/stress-management/in-depth/positive-thinking/art-20043950
Also don't forget to search images for the Partridge Family. Our "Glide Don't Trudge" tats are in that groovy cool rad '70's aesthetic,
Our Dad was our hero... and man, could he drink. We reminisce, and talk about how we changed for the better after ditching booze. Cheers to you, Dad.
We will keep talking about how women's recovery needs to be tailored by and for women. Until. It. Happens.
Remember when everyone said Mikey blew up from pop rocks and coke? Well, that was kind of like our lives.
When is it time to stop moving the line? How do we know if we're better off sober? Is sobriety really a superpower?
In this delightful discussion, Tammie and Nicole talk about "Go Time", and how to power up your chances of getting and staying sober. We talk about what we wish we'd done differently in early sobriety, how to find a life balance when to "ride it out", and following instincts, not impulses, and more!
OMG you guys. Don't ever say "paper maché" to us. We go back to polaroid days and homemade piñatas, then talk about triggers to our peace of mind, and how we handle that.
Life is overwhelming enough already. Does the idea of getting sober just add to that overwhelmed feeling? If so, we get it. We figured out some things along the way to help us all feel less pressured and more likely to succeed. We're so glad you're here!
Drowning in quicksand was one of our Top Three Childhood Fears. We review the terrors of the fire swamp, the Brady Bunch in Hawaii, and "Like Half of Fantasy Island." We talk about how our drinking felt like we stepped in quicksand and were struggling and flailing alone (which just makes you sink faster). We had to ask someone to throw a rope. Grab the f*cking rope, any rope. You can figure out the rest when you're back on solid ground.
This one's all about our chemistry with alcohol. We take you back to Tammie's first big crush and how she tried to be cool by being bad, then delve into what it is that tricked us into thinking we couldn't break our bond with booze.
Here's the thing, Sis. Every woman has her own path. Tammie and Nicole talk about distinguishing the inner knowing about what path to follow from the devil-on-your-shouder (inner addict) opinion. We talk about how we need different things as women, at different stages of life, and have different things that motivate us to get and stay stopped. Thanks for listening. Love you. Don't drink like my sister!
We could do a 12 part series on transferring addictions. Maybe we will! Just because we don't drink doesn't mean we're not still all-or-nothing. We're trying to be addicted to a balanced life, listen in to see how that grandiose plan is working for us.
What's a healthy ego? How does an ego get fragile and unhealthy? We talk about getting humble, asking for help, and navigating recovery. Nicole shares her DUI story.
Hey everyone!
Here's Labels: like 'em or lump 'em?
We take you back to being label snobs in high school, and talk about our thoughts and feelings about the label "alcoholic."
It's an important conversation; we hope it makes you think.
Love, Nicole and Tammie

We laugh about the oversharing we used to cringe about.
