I sit down with Logan McColl, founder of McColl therapy and an Edmonton based Mental Health Occupational Therapist, to have an in-depth conversation about the intersections of occupational therapy and mental health, emotional regulation, neuroscience/physiology concepts of mental well being and tools to employ on a day-to-day basis to thrive in daily engagement.
In this episode I sit down with my mentor and friend Dr. Turin Chowdhury and discuss a wide array of topics regarding Community based research. Dr. Turin's primary research interests are challenges in access to care and unmet needs faced by the socially vulnerable population of the society, including new immigrants, refugees, and ethnic communities. He leads his program of research through the approach of Community Based Participatory Research and Integrated Knowledge Translation where efforts for Meaningful Community Engagement is at the core.
We discuss the nuances of community based research and how research identities impact the research process and provide potential advantages and drawbacks as well.
