In this episode of The Naked Gospel Podcast, Nick Liberto and Wailer tackle one of the boldest claims you’ll ever hear: great sex could actually save the world. They unpack why God’s design for intimacy is about so much more than pleasure; it’s about discipleship, family legacy, and cultural transformation. From biblical insights to historical lessons from the fall of Rome, this conversation reframes sex as central to both marriage and mission.

Along the way, they confront the lies the church has inherited, expose how silence has crippled generations, and paint a compelling vision of what happens when couples embrace sex as holy, purposeful, and deeply joyful. Whether you’re single, married, or raising kids, this episode will challenge how you think about intimacy and inspire you to see it as one of God’s greatest gifts for personal and global renewal.

Pornography has followed every major technology—from the printing press to the internet to AI—reshaping imaginations and destroying lives. In this powerful episode, Nick and Wailer unpack how porn rewires the brain, fuels trafficking, erodes relationships, and undermines masculinity. But they also reveal a better way: a redeemed imagination that sees people with honor, not lust.
Through real stories, Scripture, and science, this conversation shows why detox and disconnection are essential, how to begin rewiring your brain, and why Jesus—not porn—is the model of true manhood. If you’re ready to break free, this is your roadmap.

ABOUT WAILER:

Wailer and his wife Adena have been married since 2005, kindling the soul-sparks of six children out into the world during the first ten years of their marriage. The Giles family has been claimed by two dogs as their pack of humans. They’ve been restoring an 1893 Victorian home since 2011 which has also become an ongoing exercise in relational renovation.

Among Wailer’s most favorite disciplines and delights: singing, songwriting, guitar, chess, jiujitsu, Hebraic studies, writing, all things outdoors and conversations that traverse the soul. He enjoys just enough astrophysics to be pretentious about it. And he has classified dessert into two categories: chocolate and everything else. Wailer enjoys cinema where the bad guys get pummeled… perhaps a little too much.

Prior to his full-time employment at Proven Ministries, Wailer spent 16 years as a craftsman in slate & metal roofing, with several of those years running his own business. His outlandish dream job for an alternate universe would be that of a sumo wrestler. However, his position as Director of Outreach has become a very close second. “It’s a labor, but it doesn’t feel like a job!”

Wailer grew up in the family legacy of two grandfathers and a Dad who exemplified covenant fidelity their entire married lives. Due in large part to their godly influence, he never encountered pornography in any form during his formative years and has remained free of that exposure or struggle ever since. His sons and daughters walk the same path into their teenage years. Wailer is passionate about cultivating this kind of generational inheritance among families and faith communities all over the nation; he believes this is our collective calling as children of light in a darkened world.

“The man who listens speaks to eternity…”

Christian individuals and churches alike are struggling with sexual integrity. Individuals don't know how to find freedom—afraid to tell anyone about their struggle and afraid that nothing will work. Churches, likewise, are struggling to address the issues that so many people in the church are dealing with.

The Christian message is often a message about sin, with an angry, disappointed God and a crucified Jesus. It can seem like sin and shameful repentance is the message. Once a year we release a short video letting you all know why we're here and what our vision is.

The Naked Gospel is a podcast but we also video record all of these interviews and make them available on Youtube. Check out the Youtube channel and subscribe to help other people become aware of these conversations!

Most of what we do is interview cultural thinkers and authors to better understand what it looks like to follow Jesus with our bodies, our relationships, and our sexuality. Occasionally we release a video like this one, which we call a Dispatch. Each Dispatch runs for under 10 minutes and we use this time to inform you all about things happening in the culture around us — such as the Ravi Zacharias scandal.

Christians have long neglected these kinds of raw conversations and we're all paying the price for it, as we see hook up culture invade the Church, pornography infest our lives, marriages broken apart, and abuse take place in the lives of those we love.

Our hope is to normalize these kinds of conversations amongst our friends, communities, churches so that we can know the redemption Jesus lived and died to give us.

Stand with us as we fight by joining the Disruptor Initiative and continue to share these conversations with the community around you!

----------bio----------

Having been sexually molested at the age of 6, having struggled with porn addiction for 15 years, and having experienced a traumatizing public exposure through falling victim to an online sextortion scam, resulting in the loss of his engagement, Marcos Peres knows all too well the dark realities of shame, guilt, depression, pain, and loss, that accompany sexual addiction. He understands the dynamics of sexual addiction that keeps a person in bondage but has also learned the truths and strategies to finding liberation, healing and restoration from the strongholds. By the Grace of God, Marcos has been walking in freedom from unwanted sexual behaviors since February 2015, after having surrendered his heart and life to Christ, and is now devoted to helping other men and women find the same freedom.

Marcos Peres is a full-time commercial and residential real estate agent, a leader for the men’s ministry at Church In The Son and the Demand Prevention Coordinator for United Abolitionist, an anti-human trafficking 501c3 nonprofit on a mission to end modern day slavery. As the Demand Prevention Coordinator, his role is to organize and facilitate trainings and accountability groups to help educate, equip and empower men to find freedom from their sexual bondage, or unwanted sexual behaviors. He does this through creating awareness about the harms of pornography and sharing the truth and beauty of healthy sexuality, so that he can begin to shift men’s views and attitudes about women and sex into practices of sexual integrity and healthy intimacy.

In the last 5 years, Marcos has shared his testimony at universities, churches, non-profits, corporations, conferences, tv & radio stations, podcasts, men’s retreats, small group events, and social media platforms reaching thousands with the message of truth, hope and healing. In 2018, he helped pass the Resolution to Declare Pornography a Public Health Crisis in the state of Florida and in 2020 he was featured in Kingdom Works Studios’ new sexual integrity series, Warpath, taught by Dr Doug Weiss. Marcos resides in Orlando, FL and is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Master of Divinity degrees at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
