In this episode, I sit down with Music Business enthusiast, Marty Hubbard. After talking about his favorite artists and albums from his childhood until now in 2020, we dive into his experiences working at multiple music festivals. Marty has worked festivals in Alabama, Tennessee, and other locations around the United States. He seriously loves what he does everyday. He just moved out to Los Angeles right before the lockdowns happened. Last week, he went to a park and saw The Weeknd and Mark Wahlberg walking around together. I loved talking to Marty on this episode about business and music. I just met him and it feels like I've known him for 5+ years. Excited to have him back on in the future!

In this episode, I sit down with percussionist and soul vocalist, Asiyah. Asiyah dives into her top musical influences from Stevie Wonder to Kanye West. She likes to represent mental health in her music and is inspired by the way Kanye West represented mental health in his last few projects. We chatted a lot about how an artists authenticity is one of the main reasons that artists get so popular in the first place. In this episode, I sit down with Ben Brown. Ben currently studies film at the University of Michigan. We launch the episode by talking about Jon Bellion, one of Ben's favorite artists. Ben goes in depth about how country music impacts him on a deeper level than most other genres of music. He really enjoys listening to artists like Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton and Sam Hunt. I really learned a lot about country music this episode and how directors of films think when they are selecting music and sounds for a scene. In this episode, I sit down with Erik Shackleford and Lucas Erber of Eshack Productions. Lucas and Erik have been in the game for a couple years now. From shooting music videos with artists like D.R. Da Rula, and Babyface Ray to traveling down to Miami for an album release party! Erik talks about how much he listens to Detroit rappers. "I love to support the local sound. Plus, most of them are my homies now." He shared one of his favorite moments of the Miami trip. "42 Dugg showed up in a Lamborghini and Lucas just looked over at me, speechless." Lucas and Erik work with a lot of talented artists and are extremely talented at music video production and visual effects. In this episode I interview the Rapper, Nathan Droke. You might remember Nathan from the Tesla music video that him and I released in the beginning of November. We tell funny stories from that night and how it was a great place to collaborate for both of us. We chat in depth about one of his favorite artists, Lil Yachty. Lil yachty is going to drop Lil Boat 3 tonight at midnight on all streaming platforms. Nathan also talks about the struggles of being an artist. "It can be pretty difficult to deal with criticism and have people not take your music seriously when you do." Nathan said before we launched into the episode. I think it's important for artists to be as authentic as possible and he definitely was here! Droke just dropped a project called "The Quarantine Collection" and I really like that 2 song project. I can't wait to collaborate on some more songs and music videos in the future. I'm also excited to see what he does in the future! Looking forward to have him back on the podcast in the future.

In this episode, I interviewed avid music listener, Jared Hansen. Jared and I took a deep dive into the discographies of Mac Miller, Logic, Wiz Khalifa, Post Malone, Eminem and NF. Jared starting to really dive into hip hop through Eminem and Mac Miller at an early age. Jared was first impacted by Mac Miller's "K.I.D.S" mixtape. Jared's favorite album by Mac is his "Watching Movies With the Sound Off" project. He started listening to Logic when he dropped his Under Pressure album back in 2014. Logic and Mac are 2 artists that have popped up on the podcast in other episodes. Jared just had such a pure perspective on all of these artists. In this episode, I talk with Hip Hop artist, Insane Maclain. Maclain and I have been good friends since late 2018. He just released his first single "sometimes". He shot a video for this song as well. Maclain is currently working on a project right now. He wants to create a story line experience throughout the whole project like Pink Floyd has before. He has a couple done and I have to finish a verse up for it too! He also wants to branch into movies, through directing and acting. He just wants to find his place as a creative in the entertainment industry. It has been a fun journey to see Maclain follow his passions and create his own reality. We touch on social media, Mac Miller, Chance the Rapper, and Jim Carrey movies. Look out for his upcoming release down the road!

In this episode, Audrey, Jack, Parker and I all talk about the band and how much we are progressing! About a year ago, I texted Audrey just so we could start playing and jamming in her basement. She invited Parker along and we just had really great energy. At the time, we didn't have any experience playing together, knew nothing about each other and it still flowed almost effortlessly. You can feel when there is a great team of people in one room. We started getting more persistent at practicing when we added Jack into the band around December of 2019. We now have a 7 song setlist, hang out all of the time and never fail to bring the energy each time we play together. Playing with this group is one of the best things that I've ever done. Great people with great creative abilities can always bring the best out of you.

In this episode of The Musician's Minute, I interview Ryan Lozon who goes by the artist name "LoveSick". Ryan has been releasing music on Soundcloud and is pumped with the project he plans on releasing soon. He has been producing music for a long time, since his early teenage years. Picking up a guitar and just jamming had a huge impact on Ryan as a songwriter. Ryan and I used to play in the same band together. We've gone to multiple concerts together including The Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead. I love watching this guy improve as a person overall. Whether its creativity or in his music. Ryan also Mixes and Masters other artists tracks as a job!

001: In this session of the podcast, I welcome Parker Corey, Bass Player for our band, Hippo Teeth. I met Parker about a year ago when our friend Audrey asked if we wanted to start playing music together again. She knew Parker and I was excited to meet him. We jammed that night and I knew he would become a staple piece in our band that we were just getting together. Parker enjoys listening to music, playing video games, and hanging out with friends. Parker is heavily influenced by 90's & 2000's punk/emo music. He speaks a lot about Avenged Sevenfold and My Chemical Romance.
