This episode is dedicated to...yes...you guessed it...yoga!! Some, maybe, useful insights into when, where and why we both do yoga and the benefits it brings. And tardigrades, those hardy little critters yet again get a mention. And Neil sets Keith a future challenge...! Tune in to catch up.

We talk through the latest progress on our fiitness journey with intermittent fasting starting to a leading role. Diet probably needs some work... Facts are checked with Neil confirming something about the voyager probes and Keith is delighted to find that intermittent fasting has studies that show huge amount of benefits to health (and ponders the interaction of this with good (or bad) sleep. Neil tries to align himself as "friend of Chris Martin" (fact check - that's false) and we agree that lunar means moon....We also are starting to think that expert guests might be a good addition as we fast run to the end of our “expertise”....hope you enjoy!

Promising to come in under the hour we cover the latest trials and tribulations of our experiences with lockdown in under 15 minutes (where we debate whether Keith should train to be a yogi) but then our plans are slightly scuppered as we walk through a bumper fact checking list from episode 5 spilling into a chiropractor confession from Neil and questions such as why don’t humans hibernate (or fly even)…hmmm…..

Fake news and social media is such a big, important (and sometime infuriating) topic that our ramblings lead us beyond the hour (ironically ourselves becoming a form of fake news by breaking our earlier promise) as we cover off peoples “own” truth, why do non-facts and actual facts get equal media time, we lament the absence of critical thinking classes in schools and why people would rather believe randoms rather than experts. Also Keith confesses to not being a fan of twitter and Neil talks up the good life using a canvas greenhouse  (whaaat?) - enjoy!

Covid-19, lockdown and the new structure of our daily lives dominated our chat in this episode (well, what did you expect….this is the new normal).

From a general health perspective we manage to see the positive impacts of lockdown from a fitness, diet and sleep perspective (although Neil is struggling to meditate….build it into your new found yoga dude!).

We do eventually get onto Intermittent Fasting touching on the science and how Keith has whole heartedly embraced it as a diet norm. Also quite a few fact checks for the next episode to research - listen in and see if you already know the right from the wrong!

Having such a massive impact on everyone's lives the only real option for the latest podcast at the moment was to cover how the essential Covid-19 protection measures are impacting our lives day to day.

What has changed in our daily routines? Have we struck a balance and enabled our fitness journeys go to continue? What impact is it having on our families? How are we coping with working and home schooling? Do I really have Neil's weights in my garage?? Listen on to find out !

Slightly more serious episode overall possibly (but inevitable given the topic) however fact checker is still in there (up front this time!).

Hope you enjoy.

In episode 3 we do a quick run through of how the fitness goals have been doing - we cover a few fact checker items from episode 2 and talk about the importance of sleep (spoiler alert - it's important for literally every aspect of your life - and if you're not getting at least 7-8 hours a night then you're doing yourself an major disservice).

I also test Neil's worldly knowledge (running through the Gapminder "factfulness" questions on world health stats) - unfortunately he was marginally poorer than giving the equivalent test to a chimp lol!

Hope you enjoy and feel free to comment!

Rolling on from the first episode we check in on how the goals we set out in episode are coming along (what's working, what's not) and we introduce not one but two health indicator tests (that we'll continue to monitor) - the dynamometer grip strength and a body fat % measurement. Spoiler alert - Neil is leaner than Keith (but Keith is way stronger).

We also introduce a fact checking session (where we run through statements that we weren't sure about from the previous week and confirm whether they were factual or not) - this is not 100% fool proof so feel free to call us out on any errors we make.

We also intended to cover a specific topic in this episode however instead we ended up on a bit of a meander across multiple topics again!

The first episode with Keith Preston and Neil McGowan talking about their challenges with trying to stay mentally and physically fit and healthy in an increasingly hectic lives with their wives, children, friends, family, hobbies and careers.

The first episode is a general conversation covering a range of topics with a loose working title of The Sick Man of Europe - how to encourage people (particularly in Scotland who have amongst the worst mortality rates due to heart disease in Europe) to be fitter, healthier (and in turn hopefully) happier.
