Many people see the hustler as the person who will do whatever it takes to make a dollar, no matter how shady or grimy the actions or means it takes to achieve or receive that dollar. Initially I was associating negative thoughts with the hustler. I thought of them as someone who is always working and on the move, doing whatever it takes at all costs to make money. There is a stereotype that they don’t care about you as a customer, as long as they have your money.

There are so many artists that start out hustling and then become a business. Most people who are successful as a businessman are partially successful due to their hustler spirit. I think you need some hustle along with the business side. You need a hustler spirit with a business mindset. There has to be a balance between both aspects.

For those who are naturally business oriented, you may need some coaching or assistance in the hustle. If you are a natural born hustler, you may need a business coach to help you focus, prioritize and automate in your business. It’s about finding someone who has strengths to compensate for your weaknesses. You can be a business person who doesn’t really have a business or you can be a hustler who constantly has to be delivering because you don’t have any systems in place. Where are the gaps that need to be filled so you can take your business to the next level? I encourage you to be real with yourself.

Learn to be thankful for what you already have while you pursue all that you want. I am overcome with an attitude of gratitude as we enter the Thanksgiving holiday. Learn how to carry the spirit of thanks throughout the year.

Sometimes people get so caught up in pursuing the dream and chasing the vision that we lose sight of how far we’ve already come. When I think back to my first job out of high school, I was a bank teller making 10 dollars an hour. Even though my husband and I didn’t make much at the time, we were living our best lives. We were surrounded by family and we were happy. Now, when we look back we wonder how we did it.

As we grew and our income grew, our interests grew. We wanted more and desired more. Once you achieve a certain level, the desire to go to the next level naturally comes. It’s important that as we grow and evolve through different stages, in all areas of our lives, that we don’t forget where we come from. In those moments when we forget, we lose appreciation for where we are. Without what we’ve been through we wouldn’t be who, what and where we are today. Without your struggles, you wouldn’t know your strengths.

Learn more about having an attitude of gratitude, maintaining a sense of where you come from and being thankful for where you are in your journey in this episode of The Vision to Victorious Podcast.

Dream big, start small. Being in this social media world and getting to see everyone post their highlight reel, will lead you to believe that everyone starts big. You can have a vision, but you don’t need to see it in real life right from the start, give yourself something to work towards.

When starting your own business, do not over extend yourself by thinking that you have to have the best of the best to begin with.

Grow, create benchmarks for you to check off along the way as you grow into that larger version. Write down your vision, and then break it down into smaller goals. Don’t feel like a vision that you have for your business right now is what you need to have in place when you open your doors to start receiving customers. So DREAM BIG, START SMALL.

In this episode, learn about the fear of failure and why you shouldn’t fear failure. You should actually fear being in the same place you are today a year from now.

There is no reason to fear next year. Think about what you want in life and then go get it. Just because you say you want it doesn’t mean you are going to get it. Things won’t always go the way you want it to go but don’t let failure keep you stagnant, complacent or in your comfort zone. You don’t know until you try. It’s also important to choose a path for you, not based on what other people want for you.

I challenge you to sit down and write a vision for your next year. Where do you see yourself a year from today? Write it all out. Take that vision that you have for a year from today and break it down into quarterly goals. What do you need to accomplish each quarter? Take those quarterly goals and break them down to monthly goals .Take those monthly goals and break them down to weekly goals. That way you have checkpoints for your progress.

Learn more about fear of failure and how to push past it in this episode of The Vision to Victorious Podcast.

Scheduling time for your business is the topic of today’s episode. Learn why it’s important to access your time, look at your current responsibilities, delegate tasks and maintain a schedule.

Recently I went with husband to try a new restaurant. We arrived at 5:45 p.m. and the place was dark yet the Open sign was on. There was a sign on the door saying someone would return at 6 pm. We sat in the car and waited the 15 minutes until 6 p.m. Still no one had showed up. I called the phone number of the business and let them know we had been waiting. I was very disappointed with a text I received later that evening and posts I read on Facebook.

It’s incredibly important to provide the product and service you have promised. This requires scheduling time for your business and planning for success. Look at your current responsibilities and see what time you have available to run your business. Fiverr, Upworks and Guru are great resources to use to outsource tasks and help run your business.

Learn more about maintaining your business, providing what you promise and the repercussions of mismanaging your business on this episode of The Vision to Victorious Podcast.
