We are a network of worshipping congregations based in the South West of Christchurch New Zealand, namely Hornby, Rolleston, West Melton and Halkett.

The birth of the Church at Pentecost represents a new move of God through the Holy Spirit. The Church was born with a mission to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth, and everyone one of us is called to partner with God in His mission or restoring the earth to Himself.

Merry Christmas! The birth of Jesus is the ultimate fulfilment of God’s promises and the greatest expectation realised. Through His birth, God’s plan of salvation was set into motion and we as individuals and as church both prepare for the future coming of Christ and participate in seeing God's kingdom being lived out here on earth.
John’s miraculous birth was for a specific and special reason —he was called to prepare the way for the Messiah. His life reminds us that God often births something new to prepare for a greater move of His Spirit. What God is preparing us for is often not just about us individually but a wider purpose that can affect generations to come.
Samson’s birth came with a divine purpose—to begin delivering Israel from the Philistines. His life reflects how God uses unlikely people to accomplish His purposes, even in our weakness.
God's promises often seem impossible, but faith and patience bring them to fruition. Isaac’s miraculous birth illustrates God’s faithfulness in fulfilling His covenant.

Come join us as we listen to what God has done through peoples lives within our church family.

Welcome to Week 7 of our preaching series in Samuel. Samuel's sons and the elders of Israel all provide interesting examples in how God-given freedoms can be abused. God's Word reminds us that freedoms must be treated with respect, and that the consequences of abusing these freedoms are logical and inevitable.
Welcome to Week 5 of our preaching series in Samuel. Some mistakes go unnoticed. Some cause minor embarrassment. Some create problems that take a while to untangle. Then there are those few mistakes that are hard to get over. We will see today that Samuel made one of those horrible mistakes that likely haunted him for the rest of his days.

Welcome to Week 3 of our preaching series in Samuel. It is not by coincidence that the first thing that Samuel was trained in is hearing Gods voice. Hearing Gods voice was a picture for some much more significant – being trained to pursue a relationship with God.

Easter declares that even a tomb of death cannot contain or hold down God’s love for the whole world and in remembering His death and resurrection we continue to proclaim this love and life to the world.

Today, we observe the Lord’s Supper. One of the major themes of the Lord’s Supper is remembering. Remembering the past impacts the present. When you forget something significant you begin living for the insignificant. This is why Jesus wants us to think about Him and to remember Him. When we remember His love for us it impacts our love for Him and ultimately our love for others. Remembering the past impacts the present.
Our values are foundational. They help direct our missional priorities. The five priorities, or building blocks, that God has led us as Hope Presbyterian to focus on during the 2024 to 2028 years.

We welcome and serve all people, both inside and outside the church. We seek to creatively meet their needs in genuine love, hungering to see them come into a personal relationship with Jesus. We choose to be resilient champions of hope and freedom in our broken world, stewarding all that God has entrusted to us for future generations. We know this is only made possible by the power of the Holy Spirit at work in us.
Our family likeness is Christlikeness. We are humble conduits of His powerful faith-enabled grace. Spiritual disciplines hone our sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s guidance and power through transformational time in prayer, Bible reading and study and worship. We step out in our grace-enabled gifts, both individually and corporately. In this way, God is crafting us as living stones into a temple for the Holy Spirit. We are active, flexible, agile, and have a boldness and courage that comes from being steadfastly anchored to the cornerstone, Jesus Christ.

Have you ever felt like you’re waiting on God? His timing might always be perfect, but from where we sit, it can also be frustrating. In this message, we’ll look at what happens when God’s timing makes us pause, reflect, and depend on Him. Because while we’re waiting, God is working.

Living at peace with others instead of living offended. Jesus didn’t call us to be right, He called us to be loving. It’s easy to be offended. What’s hard is to look past the offence and love the person on the other side. You can choose to forgive the way God forgave your sins.

What do we really want in life? Often what we think we want is different than what we actually want, which is peace. God has given us His peace through His presence. Peace isn’t found in the absence of problems. Peace is found in the presence of God.
