In a world where is very common to see people from diverse horizons, still they are marginalized because they are invisible, or they chose to be invisible like me until now. In this podcast, I would like to share my personal experience about being half-Taiwanese, half-Filipino, born in Côte-d'Ivoire and how I have been encountering micro-discrimination throughout my life.
The first time I met Iacopo was on Omegle, a website where you can strike up a conversation with strangers. Little did we know that we will become friends for such a long time. We never met in person and still have conversations on Skype about nothing and everything.
In this episode, Iacopo opens up on his feeling of void towards existence, a cathartic and constant feeling, that left him often inert. However, that doesn't mean that he doesn't care, it just means a different perspective, an unique way of seeing things. This episode is not about trying to find "solutions" for one's struggles but it's about a place where one can face his/her fears.
Maternity is one of these words you can't explain with words, where you need to experience it to grasp its meaning. Dauphine came a long way to understand the joy of being of mother but also its struggles. In this episode, she has the courage to share her views on the question despite society's expectations and to let us know what is maternity based on her individual experience. During this talk, many questions has been raised such feminism, the role of a woman in a society and the feeling of being alienated. So, we hope you will enjoy this conversation and understand there is nothing wrong being a woman or just being Human.
Yu-Chen has made her dream came true, she is now a flight intendant. However, it wasn't without big challenges throughout her childhood. Being an important stage in someone's life and also a foundation of adulthood, a disrupted childhood can lead to many trauma or psychological troubles. When you realized that the one supposed to be a model for you is instead a source of malaise (mal-être), you are prone to crisis identity.
Yu-Chen and I shared a different background, but shared the same struggles as a child. We realized that the need to fit-in, to please everyone were universal truths in our lives.

I think podcasting has been a very important medium for me to share with you all my frustrations. I don't use this medium to be a plain platform for complaining, on the contrary, I use it to raise awareness about my perceptions of these situations.
I agree that I might never be right nor wrong, but I will be wrong no talking about it. Even though the impact is minimal, I know at least it's a victory if one person is already aware of it.

For a long time, I wanted to tackle to problem that as an online French teacher with Asian origins faced since I started teaching. There is no need to mention, how visibility and exposure are very important in our era. If we don't talk about it then nobody will be aware of it.
Have you ever wondered what will happen if at this exact moment, the stuff, the things, the people you're being used to see everyday happen to disappear in just a snap? We forget about the person that really care about us, in the name of pursuing something bigger, and when we are not careful it is already an obsession that shadow our perspective. We often forget how beautiful is to breath, walk, and see and yet we are forgetful of the chance to just be and to have.

I took me more time than I expected to finish this episode because I had to open myself and explore within. Also I didn't want to reveal too much personal information because it could have been misinterpreted.
I didn't expect that doing this series of mini-episode would unlock many memories that I long vowed to forget. These memories were painful but it felt like I needed to push through to realize that I wrong for a long time.
