I’m Jules Sebastian, this is Tea With Jules the Podcast, the audio version of my online show (you can find it on YouTube) of the same name. Here you will hear some heartfelt and honest conversations with interesting and inspiring people I have had the pleasure of meeting over my career in the fashion and entertainment industry. I unpick meaningful life moments, what success really means and what people want to be remembered for. My hope is that you can take away some gold nuggets of wisdom and use them in your own life. Hope you enjoy. X
Emily Skye is one of Australia's most recognisable voices in fitness and wellbeing, but her story is about so much more than exercise.
In this warm and honest conversation, Jules sits down with Emily to talk about what really sits beneath a life that looks strong from the outside. Emily opens up about growing up as an insecure, shy girl who couldn't cope with the everyday, her later ADHD and autism diagnoses, and the years she spent chasing love and acceptance in all the wrong places before discovering that movement made her feel, in her words, like a superhero.
Emily is refreshingly real about the thing so many of us get stuck on: seeking validation from other people. Her message is simple and hard won. You cannot get worth from outside yourself. It doesn't work. Take it from her.
Together, Jules and Emily explore why feeling good matters more than looking good, how to build movement into a busy life without the guilt, and why you have to put yourself first before you can show up for everyone else. They talk about the pressure women carry, navigating hormones and menopause, the power of strength training as we age, gut health, and learning to speak to yourself the way you'd speak to your own child.
This is a conversation about confidence, self-worth and being kind to yourself in a world that constantly tells you you're not doing enough. You are. Pour yourself a cup of tea and settle in.

Content warning: This episode includes an honest discussion of depression and suicidal thoughts. Please listen with care. If you or someone you know needs support, Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14.
He's called Dr Happy. And he's lived with depression for most of his adult life.
In this genuinely profound conversation, Jules sits down with Dr Tim Sharp, clinical and coaching psychologist, founder of The Happiness Institute, best selling author and one of Australia's leading voices in positive psychology. But as Jules discovers, the power of Tim's story isn't the title. It's everything sitting behind it.
Tim built an entire career around happiness while privately battling severe depression and suicidal thoughts, and spending years believing he wasn't good enough, smart enough or worthy enough. His honesty about that gap between the public persona and the private reality is what makes this episode land so deeply.
Together, Jules and Tim unpack what happiness actually is, and why most of us have been chasing the wrong version of it. Tim explains why you're not supposed to feel good all the time, why negative emotions aren't the enemy, and why the pressure to be happy every minute of every day is quietly making us miserable. He shares the simple daily practices that genuinely move the needle, the beauty of finding joy in the mundane school run and the everyday moments, and a powerful approach to sitting with difficult feelings instead of running from them.
His final pearl of wisdom is simple, and Jules says she's printing it out for every wall in her house. Love yourself. Love others. Love the world.
This is one of those conversations that might just change what you're really searching for. Pour yourself a cup of tea, and settle in.

A proper heart-to-heart.
In this solo episode, Jules goes deep on something she's been thinking about a lot lately: letting go of the things that define us. The stories we carry, the pressure we put on ourselves, and whether the version of success we're chasing was even ours to begin with.
Jules opens up about a belief she carried for almost her whole life, that she wasn't smart, formed in year four over a struggle with fractions, and how that single story quietly shaped her decisions, her confidence and the way she walked into rooms for decades. It's a powerful reminder of how the labels we accept about ourselves can become an identity we never actually chose.
From there, Jules explores the beliefs so many of us carry without questioning. I'm too emotional. I'm bad with money. I'm behind in life. I'm only valuable when I'm productive. She talks about where these stories come from, how repetition turns them into truth, and the gentle, everyday ways we can start creating evidence against the lie.
Asking if whether "having it all" is really the goal, or whether we've confused having it all with doing it all. Because a life that looks full from the outside can still feel empty inside. Success, she reminds us, looks different in every season. Sometimes it's ambition. Sometimes it's healing. Sometimes it's simply resting.
This is a warm, gentle, permission-giving episode. Put the phone down, take a breath, and let yourself just be for a little while.

Some conversations change the way you see everything.
In this episode, Jules sits down with Leah Ashton, the founder of Hand in Hand in Ballarat, an organisation dedicated to supporting people experiencing mental health challenges and social isolation. The story behind Hand in Hand is one Leah tells here with extraordinary honesty and courage. It began with a chance conversation on a flight. Then, at the end of 2023, Leah's world fell apart. A phone call in the early hours of the morning. Her 21-year-old son, seven hours away in South Australia. Her husband overseas. What was first thought to be a car accident turned out to be something else entirely, and it was her son's best friend who finally told her the truth.
Out of that came a truth she now shares with every parent who will listen. You cannot fix your child. They do not want to be fixed. They want you to be present. Just sit with them, in it.
Jules and Leah talk about why mental health does not discriminate, why the conversations we are most afraid to have with our kids are the ones they most want to have, how loneliness and disconnection are quietly hurting communities, and the simple, small ways any of us can reach out to someone who might need it.

What if your home already knew things about your life that you have never told anyone?
In this fascinating episode, Jules sits down with Feng Shui master Kelly McCloskey, one of Australia's leading voices in the ancient art and science of Feng Shui. Kelly left a dream job selling real estate in Melbourne to study this 2,000-year-old practice, a decision so unexpected her own father asked her mother if she had joined a cult. Fifteen years later, she has guided thousands of people to transform their homes, their health, their wealth and their relationships, simply by understanding the energy of the spaces they live in.
Jules and Kelly deep dive into what Feng Shui actually is, and what it is not. This is not lucky cats and red ribbons around your taps. Kelly explains the real thing: how the front door, the bedroom, the fridge and even a single open window can be quietly shaping your life, and how one client's jaw hit the floor when Kelly predicted a serious health issue just by reading the energy of his home. His response, how did you know that, might be the most chilling moment of the episode.
Along the way you will learn why the artwork behind your bed matters more than you think, how Kelly has manifested everything from a husband to a beach house to an actual kitten, why decluttering is one of the most powerful things you can do for your energy, what to look for when buying a home, and the simple, practical changes any of us can make this week to invite more calm, clarity and abundance into our lives.

In this episode, Jules sits down with Kate Reeves, co-founder and co-host of the wildly successful podcast We Don't Have Time For This. Alongside her best friend of more than thirty years, Gemma Peanut, Kate has built one of Australia's most loved podcast communities, turning honest conversations about modern womanhood into sold-out live shows and a thriving business. But behind the laughs is a woman who has navigated real and significant change, including divorce, co-parenting, and rebuilding her life in ways she never expected.
Jules and Kate go deep on what it really takes to keep showing up when life does not go to plan. They talk about the vulnerability hangover that comes from sharing your life publicly. Kate opens up honestly about her divorce, the word she made peace with, and the enormous decision to step outside the lines of the life everyone expected her to live. She shares what co-parenting has taught her, the things our children pick up whether we like it or not, and the hope she carries for the kind of relationships they will one day build.
There is a beautiful theme running through this conversation about getting quiet in a noisy world, why silence has become the new luxury, and how life speaks to us first in whispers and then in shouts until we finally listen. Kate and Jules also explore the magic of building something with a best friend, the cruelty women can show one another online, why no woman is confident as a baseline, and the single most powerful feeling of all, which is not simply being seen but being truly known.
Wise, warm, hilarious and deeply moving, this is a conversation about reinvention, friendship, and giving yourself permission to change.

What do you do when your whole life falls apart at 50?
In this deeply moving and genuinely uplifting episode, Jules sits down with Kylie Jones, the founder of Fifty & Fearless, a platform and movement helping women over 50 rediscover their confidence, identity and purpose. But Kylie's story did not begin with inspiration. It began at rock bottom.
In the space of just twelve to fifteen months, Kylie lost both of her parents and was suddenly retrenched from the 30-year career that had defined her. Completely broken and unsure how to even get out of bed each day, she opened her laptop one night and started an anonymous Instagram page. She didn't show her face. She simply began writing the words she needed to hear. Slowly, other women started to find her, and a movement was born.
Jules and Kylie talk about what it really means to come home to yourself in midlife, why so many women wear busy as a badge of honour, and how to release the guilt that comes with choosing yourself. They explore why society teaches us to fear ageing, and why Kylie believes the opposite is true, that women become more powerful, clearer and more qualified for life with every passing year. They also dig into the small, doable changes that reconnect you with the things you used to love, the importance of sitting quietly with your own thoughts, and why your next chapter might just be your best one yet.
Whether you are approaching 50, already there, or simply navigating a season of change, this conversation is a permission slip to stop shrinking and start living.

Ten years is a long time. The last time Sam Wood sat down with Jules on Tea with Jules, he was fresh off The Bachelor, newly in love with Snezana, and just beginning to figure out what came next. A lot has happened since then.
In this episode, Jules reunites with one of Australia's most trusted voices in health and fitness, Sam Wood, founder of 28 by Sam Wood but before we get to dumbbells and discipline, Sam takes Jules behind the scenes of The Bachelor in a way he admits he has never quite done before. The story of how a gym client wouldn't take no for an answer. The moment he knew it was Snezana, weeks before the show would let him say so. The uncomfortable reality of dating other women on camera when your heart had already decided and what it was really like to go from a kids fitness trainer nobody knew to the most talked-about man in Australia, almost overnight.
Then the conversation turns to where Sam is most passionate: your health. He delivers some of the most direct, useful fitness advice Jules has had on the podcast. Why strength training is non-negotiable for women over 40. Why you will not get bulky. Why the goal of how you look eventually gives way to something far more powerful. And why, if you are going through perimenopause or menopause and you are not strength training, you are doing yourself the biggest disservice of your life, his words.

Separation and divorce are topics most of us only talk about in hushed tones, or not at all. But what if the conversation could actually help? Whether you're happily married, quietly struggling, or somewhere in the middle of the hardest decision of your life, this episode is for you.
Jules sits down with Gabriella Pomare, a Sydney-based family lawyer, author, and founder of The Collaborative Co-Parent, a platform dedicated to helping separated families move through co-parenting with more compassion, clarity and grace. What makes Gabriella different from most lawyers? She's been through it herself. With a one-year-old at home and a career built on guiding others through divorce, she navigated her own separation and came out the other side with a perspective that is equal parts honest, practical and deeply human.
In this conversation, Jules and Gabriella talk about why marriages quietly unravel long before anyone says a word, the dangerous idea of staying for the kids, how to protect your children through the hardest kind of change, what to do when your ex simply won't cooperate, and why in Gabriella's words, it's not a broken family.
This is not a conversation about failure. It's a conversation about rebuilding.

Jules Sebastian is back! A new room, new era, and the story she's been waiting to tell.
In this first episode of a brand new chapter of Tea with Jules, Jules sits down with her manager and friend Lisa Johnson to finally speak openly and honestly about one of the biggest moments of her family's year: her son Archie joining his father Guy Sebastian on tour and the extraordinary journey that led to a standing ovation in a packed arena.
Jules shares what it felt like to watch Archie's talent quietly develop over years. The emotional weight of playing that unfinished song to her father in hospital. The conversations that convinced Archie to say yes. The moment she came outside herself, watching him on the big screen. And the pride in Archie, in Hudson, in Guy, and in this season of life as a family.
This is also an episode about what tour life really looks like from the inside: the unseen stamina of an artist like Guy, the joy of bringing kids to the Brisbane Children's Hospital. Jules also reflects on what this podcast means to her personally, why she made it, what it's given her, and where it's going next.
Pour yourself some tea, let's begin!

In Part 2 with Dr Haley Watson, we dive deeper into the emotional world of teenagers - covering loneliness, low motivation, depression, and body image.
We unpack why loneliness can feel so intense, how to support teens who seem flat or withdrawn, and why motivation often isn’t about “laziness” at all. Dr Haley shares practical tools to help both parents and teens navigate these challenges with more understanding and less pressure.
We also explore body image, perfectionism, and the powerful reminder that how
we feel about ourselves isn’t fixed by how we look.
This episode is honest, practical, and full of perspective for anyone supporting a teen or remembering what it felt like to be one.

This week’s episode is a real-time life update.
School term is back, routines are out the window, the gym schedule has collapsed, the Coke Zero is flowing and the lawyer in Jules head has taken up permanent residence.
If you’ve ever gone from “I am thriving” to “I am unravelling” in the space of two weeks - this one’s for you.
Lisa and I talk honestly about what happens when your carefully built habits get disrupted, how hormonal weeks can make everything feel heavier than it actually is, and why sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is surrender instead of spiral.
There’s crying.
There’s chips.
There’s Beyoncé.
There’s a saxophone wedding story that will wreck you in the best way.
If you’ve been feeling off-kilter, emotional, stretched or like you’ve let yourself down you haven’t. You’re human. And you’re not alone.
Hit follow if you’re loving Tea with Jules - your support means the world.
Let’s keep trying to life together.

In this episode of Tea with Jules, Jules is joined by Lisa Johnston for a very honest, very relatable conversation about the emotional whiplash of school returning. Routines, exhaustion, expectations, and the quiet pressure parents put on themselves (and their kids) without even realising it.
There’s laughter, vulnerability, a few parenting confessions that may sting a little, and plenty of moments where you’ll think, oh wow.. that’s me.
This episode is for anyone who’s navigating school drop-offs, parenting guilt, changing seasons of family life, or trying to learn how to guide their kids without controlling them. Because sometimes the hardest part of parenting is learning when to hold on and when to let go.

In this deeply moving and powerfully honest episode of Tea with Jules, Jules sits down with writer, speaker, content creator, podcast host, and fierce LGBTQIA+ advocate Sean Szeps.
What begins as a conversation about parenting quickly expands into something much bigger: identity, belonging, empathy, religion, raising kind humans, finding love, rewriting the script of your life, and the courage it takes to live as your truest self.
Sean shares his extraordinary journey - from growing up in a deeply religious community in the U.S., to navigating his sexuality alone as a child, to eventually coming out and finding acceptance, love, marriage, and fatherhood. He opens up about internalised shame, choosing between two impossible futures, the moment the world shifted and parenthood became a real possibility, and the emotional rollercoaster of raising twins through surrogacy.
Jules and Sean dive into otherness - the feeling of being different and how every one of us, regardless of sexuality, gender, or background, has experienced moments of being the “only one in the room.” Together they explore how parents can prepare children to meet difference with empathy, curiosity, and compassion.
This episode is emotional, uplifting, raw, hilarious, and full of wisdom, the kind that deepens your understanding of yourself and the world around you.

In this solo episode of Tea with Jules, Jules gets real about the chaos of modern life, 35-page to-do lists, and why multitasking is quietly frying our brains. She shares the small, science-backed habits that have completely reshaped her days – from becoming a 5:30 am morning person (yes, really) to breaking the chips-and-Netflix cycle at night.
This is a gentle, practical pep talk for anyone who feels busy, scattered, time-poor, and wants to feel calmer, clearer, and more on top of life without doing a full personality transplant overnight.

In this powerful and deeply moving episode of Tea with Jules, I sit down with sleep scientist, author and advocate Dr Carmel Harrington, whose life’s work began with unimaginable loss. After the sudden infant death of her son Damien, Carmel left a successful law career to pursue a PhD in sleep medicine and has since become an internationally recognised expert in the science of sleep.
Carmel shares what actually happens in our brains and bodies while we sleep, why it impacts everything from our mood and memory to dementia risk, and how our modern, always-on lifestyles are quietly eroding one of the most important foundations of our health. If you’ve ever stayed up scrolling, pulled an all-nighter, or told yourself you can “push through” on little sleep, this conversation will gently (but firmly) change the way you think about rest. You’ll walk away with a new understanding of why sleep is non-negotiable, plus practical, realistic strategies to protect your sleep – even in busy seasons of life with kids, work, and a very full plate.

If you’ve ever stood in the middle of your home and thought, "Where on earth do I even begin?", this episode will feel like a deep exhale.
Today on Tea With Jules, I sit down with the brilliant Anita Birges - professional home organiser, declutter queen, founder of Mise En Place, and the woman behind hundreds of beautifully calm, functional homes across Australia.
But this episode isn’t just about cleaning cupboards and colour-coding pantries - it’s about the emotional clutter. The guilt, the overwhelm, the “I’ll deal with it later” piles, and the fantasy of living in a Pinterest-perfect showroom. Anita walks us through why clutter weighs so heavily on our minds, how to start when you feel completely overwhelmed, and the simple systems that help households run more smoothly - especially when kids, school bags, wrapping paper, sport gear and surprise junk mail are part of the daily chaos.
We cover everything from sentimental items, to wardrobe rules, to the hilariously relatable reality of donation bags living permanently in the boot of the car.
If you’ve been craving more calm, space, order, time and mental clarity - this one’s for you.

This week, Jules and Lisa sit down for another hilarious and heartfelt debrief about love languages, November burnout, and the beautiful madness that is Christmas.
From the art of acts of service (“don’t do that without asking me first!”) to the suspicious side of bin duties, Jules and Lisa unpack what it really means to give and receive love when your partner’s language just doesn’t match your own.
The chat takes an unmissable turn into church antics like, the moment Lisa confidently said “(bow)” out loud during Mass and continues through family traditions, chaos management, and why November feels like a full-blown emotional marathon. They open up about Guy’s year of surgeries, the juggle of motherhood and work, and the delicate dance of keeping Christmas magic alive when you’ve never had the same Christmas twice.
It’s a warm, witty, and wildly relatable chat that perfectly captures friendship, family, and festive-season fatigue, all wrapped up with laughter, honesty, and hydralyte.

Welcome to Tea with Jules hosted by Jules Sebastian. Here we spill the tea and learn life lessons from honest conversations with experts, celebrities and friends.
Sex. Intimacy. Desire. Shame. These are topics we don’t often talk about, especially as women in midlife, but they affect every part of who we are. In this deeply honest episode of Tea with Jules, I sit down with Lara Boielle, a clinical sexologist and naturopath, to have the conversation we’ve all been avoiding but desperately need.
From scheduling space (not sex) to understanding how our libido is tied to how we
feel about ourselves, Lara shares wisdom, warmth, and practical steps for finding
your way back to yourself and to intimacy. We talk about shame, the noise of midlife, and why slowing down and reconnecting with your body is the key to rediscovering desire.
Whether you’re in a long-term relationship, freshly dating, or navigating this season of life solo, this episode is about breaking stigma, finding safety, and realising that sexuality is not for someone else, it’s for you.
What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
About Lara Boielle
Lara Boielle is a clinical sexologist, relationship therapist, and naturopath who works with individuals and couples across diverse relationship structures. She creates safe, inclusive, non-judgmental spaces to explore intimacy, communication, and pleasure, while helping clients navigate sexual challenges. Welcome to Tea with Jules hosted by Jules Sebastian. Here we spill the tea and learn life lessons from honest conversations with experts, celebrities and friends.
Fear is loud. It wants to keep you small, safe, and silent. But here’s the truth: fear is just a feeling - not a fact. And everything you’ve ever wanted is waiting on the other side of it.
In my very first solo episode of Tea with Jules, I’m diving into the topic of fear - how it shows up, why it tries to hold us back, and how we can move forward anyway. I’m sharing personal stories (like the time I almost said no to MTV because I was terrified), plus the five powerful questions I ask myself whenever fear tries to take the lead.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
This is a heart-to-heart, just you and me, and my hope is that by the end, you’ll feel empowered to face whatever fear is standing in your way.
Because you don’t need to be perfect. You don’t even need to be ready. You just need to start.
👉 Listen now, and let’s step through fear together.

Welcome to Tea with Jules hosted by Jules Sebastian. Here we spill the tea and learn life lessons from honest conversations with experts, celebrities and friends.
Hello friends, and welcome back to Tea with Jules.
Welcome to Pt2 of Jules’ origin story. If you made it through Pt1 and have come back to close the rings on what happened next – it’s all here!
From teaching singing in Adelaide, to styling Guy for his album shoot with two carloads of clothes and a dream in my heart to launch my fashion styling career, to landing a TV gig with MTV five weeks after having a baby…this is the story of how I accidentally fell into my purpose by throwing everything at the wall (spoiler alert: some of it stuck).
If you’ve ever felt lost, like you should’ve figured it out by now, or you’re still waiting for your thing to arrive - I see you. I was you. Some days, I still am you.
Make yourself a cup of tea, settle in, and let’s finish off this story…well, for now anyway.

Welcome to Tea with Jules hosted by Jules Sebastian. Here we spill the tea and learn life lessons from honest conversations with experts, celebrities and friends.
Friends! I’m a little ball of nerves to put this poddy out there. Why? Because in this episode, I really go there. Like... right back to my $5.25 an hour Macca’s days, my short-lived jazz uni era (spoiler: I was a pop girl trying to scat), and the time I became an aerobics instructor in a lycra situation. Yes, truly.
This week on Tea with Jules, Lisa Johnston is back in the blue chair, and she somehow managed to unlock a memory vault I clearly wasn’t ready for. We talk bloating (middle-aged spread is here and she did not come quietly), bougie socks, church squads, and the full story (if you haven’t already heard it 200 times) of how I met Guy. It involves Mariah Carey, a wedding, and matching outfits. I KNOW.
There’s laughter, oversharing, and the lawyer in my head, yelling, “JULES, STOP TALKING.” But here we are. And honestly, I think there’s something in here for anyone who’s ever felt a bit not-smart-enough, not-ready-enough, or just a little bloated and bewildered by life.
Thanks for coming along for the ride. Please be kind - I’ve basically handed you my teenage diary with a cup of tea and said, “Enjoy!”

Welcome to Tea with Jules hosted by Jules Sebastian. Here we spill the tea and learn life lessons from honest conversations with experts, celebrities and friends.
In this week’s episode of Tea With Jules, I sit down with my good friend, manager, creative right-hand gal and brutal truth-teller, Lisa Johnston. We talk about corporate life, building confidence, pushing through judgement, and what it means to truly back yourself (and your people). Lisa is bold, brilliant, and has the rare ability to see the magic in others before they see it in themselves.
With a background in media and a leadership role heading up the Social Media Virtual Experience at National Australia Bank, Lisa brings deep industry insight and a bold, creative approach to everything she does. She has travelled the world speaking at major events, sharing her expertise on social media, digital storytelling, and how to turn online engagement into genuine emotional connection.
Her specialty lies in transforming social media from a shouting match into a
storytelling experience. Lisa works with businesses to shift their message from
selling to connecting—because people don’t just buy products; they buy feelings.
Lisa lives for branding, bold ideas, and those magic moments when everything just clicks.
If you’ve ever questioned your path or needed that one person in your corner, this
episode is for you.

Steph De Sousa—AKA The Frugal Foodie or steph_cooks_stuff on Instagram—is a passionate cook, author, mother of 4, and Instagram sensation.
While living with her young family on the French-speaking island of Vanuatu for a short time, Steph worked as a hairdresser and makeup artist for weddings. It was here that the island taught her about buying and using fresh ingredients from local markets, eating organic, and where she developed her love of scratch cooking.
She made her way to becoming a contestant on MasterChef, and Australia fell in love with her gorgeous personality and ability to simplify meals. Across Steph’s content, website and books, she shows us how to create simple, delicious, family-friendly meals without a lavish budget. Steph has two amazing books available—Air Fryer Queen and her new book, Easy Dinner Queen, which will have you in your own kitchens not believing how easy she makes creating food.

I wanted to chat to Fidan on Tea With Jules to dig a little deeper and see what makes Fidan unapologetically herself, and how she has built a brand I don’t think she even knew she was building. Enjoy this episode!

When I first heard Dr Hayley Watson speak at an event, I had no idea that we would
later partner up to help thousands of kids in Australia with their mental health.
Through the work of her in-school mental health program, Open Parachute, and the support of The Sebastian Foundation, we have been able to touch the lives of
thousands of kids throughout Australia.
In this very special episode of Tea With Jules, I sit down with Dr Hayley to hear her own story with overcoming big life challenges and why that fuelled her passion to help others. She shares her entry into studying Clinical Psychology and her PhD in school bullying interventions. We cover off the work we are doing together, and she offers up some invaluable advice on helping ourselves and others through various stages of mental health.
There are some serious pearls of wisdom and take away moments through this whole chat. I came for the tea, but left with some pretty life altering perspective. I hope you enjoy the episode with Dr Hayley Watson.

After a 4 year very long tea break, Tea with Jules is BACK! Jules has dusted off the
mic, boiled the kettle, and is officially spilling the tea again.
Our first episode has been hijacked by her husband, @guysebastian, who steals
the mic and asks the questions. So yes, the guest becomes the host, and Jules gets put in the hot seat.
They are coming in hot - talking fame, friendship, trust, grief, parenthood, courage, confidence, career and gratitude. They really go there.
Thank you for being here. Missed you! Now go listen before Jules changes her mind and disappears for another four years.

(14 Feb 2019) Who are you when you are sitting in your true self?
I first discovered Alison Rice through her podcast Offline. I was instantly hooked, then obsessed, then I stalked her down and demanded she had tea with me!
What I love about Alison, is her raw approach to self-discovery. Resigning from her high powered job in the digital space, she has taken some time to delve deeper into (her words!) exploring the often confronting concept of true self. Along for her ride are her wonderful guest who are women behind our favourite Instagram accounts. The conversations they share are real, honest, heartfelt and oh so inspiring.
We can get so caught up in the highlight reel of social media and the labels that go along with success and achievement, that it becomes easy to forget the person behind the position.
Alison and I discuss the importance of using kindness and generosity in everyday life to push others forward and what that really means.
Alison is calming, insightful, smart and a deep soul. I loved our chat, I hope you do too. If you haven't already listened to Offline, do yourself a favour.
Now, go grab your tea and enjoy the chat.

(June 21, 2021) Steve Cordony is a master of interior style and life styling. What a treat to have him for my latest episode of Tea with Jules.
I first met Steve when he waved his magic style wand over our house for a shoot we did with Belle Magazine Australia where he sits as Style Director at Large. He struck me as kind, generous with information and meticulous with his impeccable taste, and he has absolutely lived up to that first impression.
With so many of us spending so much time at home right now, it is lovely to hear Steve talk about how he gives his home a soul. Steve shares with me how growing up he always felt that coming out, might be a risk or an unachievable dream to have his own perfect image of home life. Remaining neutral, was safer. He believes that everything happens for a reason at the right time, and with a moment of complete honesty with himself and those around him, he was released into his truest identity. Once he stepped into that, the sky has been the limit.
We talk about the secret sauce of a successful relationship, what is the soul, finding purpose and of COURSE I wouldn’t let him get away without asking him some very important home styling questions!
I loved this chat and Steve’s wonderful insight into life, love and career. He is a true gem-I hope you enjoy too. Oh, and please check out his and Michael’s current dream home renovation Rosedale Farm. It is serious #housegoals

(April 24, 2021) ‘I don’t know what’s on the other side of this, but I trust that I can pick up the pieces’
My next guest on Tea with Jules is surfing legend and my friend from the south coast, Sally Fitzgibbons.
I remark this in the interview what strikes me the most about this wonderful woman, and it’s her true depth. Sally is an athlete by trade but a seeker by heart. She is in constant learning from the world around her and any conversation with her leaves you feeling uplifted and inspired.
Her relationship with the ocean is spiritual and you can see the profound impact it has on her life both when she is surfing it’s waves or watching on as she reads and anticipates what mother nature will do next. It’s her meditation, her connection and her power.
We speak about fear, permission to pause, our addiction to forward momentum and the brilliance in the ordinary. We really go there and I can honestly say, this has been one of my most favourite chats to date.
I can’t wait for you to tune in and see what this sun kissed, smiling slice of sunshine has to offer us. I promise you will finish wanting to either take your shoes off and find some sand, or exchange some, as Sal calls it ‘intentional energy’ with someone you love.
Go grab a cuppa and enjoy Sally Fitzgibbons on Tea with Jules. xx

(Feb. 10, 2021) What an exciting day this is! Due to many reasons (COVID lockdowns, the world turning upside-down, writing a book, raising 2 boys and well…life!) it has been over a year since I shared a Tea with Jules episode with you all. Late last year I felt the time was right to boil the kettle again and invite people into my home to have honest, heartfelt conversations about life, love and career.
My first guest is my dear friend Sam Moran. He has been a children’s entertainer for 22 years, bringing joy and fun to our homes via his show ‘Play Along with Sam’ and his time as the yellow Wiggle.
What I love about this chat with Sam is his openness about all the stages and phases of his life so far. He talks about the power of letting things go, how smart kids really are and the level of sincerity they need from their entertainers. Sam also, opens up about his relationship with depression over the years and how important it is to deal with the ‘meh’ feeling that can creep in slowly.
I can’t tell you how much I learn about people and about myself through these conversations. It’s not just sharing tea, it’s a ceremony of exchange – human to human. I love that we are back in the Tea with Jules saddle and that we get to experience this together.

(Feb. 11, 2021) CALLING ALL PARENTS! This is a special Tea with Jules episode just for you. Trust me – get your pen and paper out and takes some notes on this one.
Maggie Dent joins me for an insightful and in-depth conversation on (one of the toughest jobs of all) parenting. She is known as Australia’s favourite parenting authors and educators and it is easy to see why. Her warmth, calm nature and wisdom had me hanging off her every word.
Maggie has written 11 books on all things parenting and hosts the ABC podcast ‘Parental as Anything’. Her website is an incredible resource helping us all to navigate the many challenges we face as parents. A mum of FOUR boys, and an engaged grandmum, Maggie’s life experience covers teaching, counselling, working in palliative care, funeral services and suicide prevention. From this Maggie has come to advocate for the healthy, common-sense raising of children in order to strengthen families and communities.
I reached to my community for their burning questions for Maggie and I tried my best to cover off as much as I could in our chat. We cover a lot of ground. From toddler tantrums, parental pauses, co-parenting as a team, her roosters and lamb theory, screen time and teaching our kids to be safe digital citizens, singing silly songs, structure, predictability and boundary’s, helping our teenagers find their spark, modelling behaviour for our kids and probably the highlight…..why Maggie is sending me into fart training!
The bottom line of this conversation is, the best thing we can ever do for our kids is to love them fiercely and unconditionally. Oh – and Maggie’s parting words to all parents everywhere – YOU’VE GOT THIS.
Please, if you are a parent or know a parent who might need some sound, sensible advice in raising their kids (that’s all of us right?!), watch this interview. Then watch it again.

(15 Nov 2018) Liv Phyland & Teigan Nash are little rays of sunshine! They quite literally light up every room they walk into.
Both from a background in TV presenting they were moved by the stories of young people's struggles with low self-esteem, social media battles, and unhealthy lifestyles. They wanted to see a change in the next generation and decided to do something about it. They started workshops that travel all over the country called Girls Who Glow. The movement has been life-changing for teenager girls who get to meet Liv & Teigs amongst other inspiring speakers who give them advice and guidance on health and wellbeing, social media, goal setting, fitness, and choosing healthy relationships.
They are 2 friends on a mission and they share the same dream. To see people live their best lives and to be happy.
You will absolutely love this interview. We chat about the effects of social media and the changes they are seeing in the world, one girl at a time.

A foundation that exists to educate and teach the everyday practical tools we can use so people no longer have to suffer with mental illness or poor mental health.
I have seen close up how serious mental health can be, so I do not treat this subject lightly. Neither does Ben. He sees his role to be an educational light to those suffering and those living with people suffering. Even though he has experienced his own battles, he does not think he is the poster child for mental health, nor does he want to be. He simply sees there are hurting people who need help to get through their days and has put up his hand to do what he can.
With mental health becoming a subject we are increasing facing head on and many men and women are embracing their struggles openly and publicly, we are normalising issues that were once seen as a weakness. That is the point of this chat. To hit this head on. To gather as communities and rally together to see change. I hope you will get some practical, helpful tools from Ben to be on the look out for cracks in the perfect persona people put together and start asking the simple questions of Are you ok? And how can I help?
Here is a link to Ben’s foundation and other helpful facilities in the show notes if you need to reach out. There is always someone there, no matter how you feel.

(Dec. 11, 2019) Angela Ceberano has been my friend for over a decade. We first met when my husband Guy signed to the music label BMG (later becoming Sony Music) after winning the very first Australian Idol! Ange was his assigned publicist at the label.
The first thing I noticed about Ange was her Hollywood actress looks and her kind nature. I was very new to the world of the public eye, so anybody who showed me genuine kindness and was down to earth, I clung to! We grew closer over the years and it has been a pleasure to watch Ange blossom into the business mogul she is today.
With all her music industry and PR knowledge, she decided to start her own agency. She named it Flourish. She and her team handle huge clients on all things publicity and branding. She has also recently released her very own range of candles called Marco and Co. which she lovingly named after her beautiful horse Marco.
As a busy entrepreneur and working woman, Ange has had her fair share of challenges. Earlier this year, her husband Phil and her went through a heart renching miscarriage. She was brave enough to share her thoughts and feelings around that in our chat. Running your own business, juggling staff, a marriage and all that goes in between has lead Ange to take some time to reflect, pause and really take head of what is important in life. Her mission is to inspire but to also encourage people to find a lifestyle that is right for them. This includes rest and doing things you love. She believes it feeds your soul and fuels your passions. I couldn’t agree more.

(Oct. 19, 2019) Continuing along with our brave series on Tea with Jules, I could not go past the story of my next guest. As we sat and shared our tea, I was more and more taken with her tale of courage, determination and passion. Rabia Siddique begins her story in suburban Perth growing up as a Muslim. Her life changed forever when she became the victim of abuse and decided at a very early that she wanted to dedicate herself to helping others access justice in a way that she wasn’t able to as a little girl.
She committed herself to helping others find their voice. The law was her vehicle. After joining the British Army as a military lawyer, she served in Iraq and was sent to negotiate the release of two kidnapped British soldiers. I’ll let Rabia finish sharing what unfolded while in negotiations. It’s an edge of your seat kind of moment.
Rabia believes her higher purpose and calling is to serve people who live in parts of the world where they can’t access justice and equality is a foreign concept. What a purpose! She lives this calling out with a conviction that is rare and important for humanity.
I decided to split this episode into two parts as Rabia’s story is detailed and beautiful and I didn’t want you to miss a thing. The next episode will follow soon.
This is the epic journey of a brave woman, soldier, Muslim and mother.
To really grasp the intensity of Rabia’s life, you really have to sit and absorb this conversation. So please, make your cuppa really hot, and enjoy PART 1.

(Sept. 29, 2019) Tash Sefton is a fashion and online business force. Her website Where Did Your Style Go teaches us how love clothes and how to love ourselves in them.
When she joined me on Tea with Jules, I was not expecting the conversation to take the course it did – but I couldn’t have been more happy with where we went. We got down to the real deal and talked about topics that affect us all. Social media is something I have been thinking a lot about lately and have been trying to navigate my way through feelings of overwhelm and insecurity, so I was happy when Tash opened up to share her thoughts around living her life online, and how she found her true calling after hitting rock bottom.
We talk about ageing in a ‘forever young’ industry and how Tash views this as a positive and uses it to learn and know more. Tash is at a fearless place in her life, and it shows. She is unstoppable. This is a powerful conversation and I think is an important one for all of us to hear.
Now go grab your cuppa and listen in.

We chat about how she has withstood an ever changing, ever moving industry and what makes a successful business. I hope you enjoy this chat as much as I did. What an inspiration!

(Aug. 10, 2019) The sweetest episode of Tea with Jules yet! I first met Katherine Sabbath when I was hosting an event for Pandora, and Katherine was commissioned to make the yummy desserts. We chatted, I loved her immediately, I ate the cake and that was it! Fwwends - awww!
I was struck not only for her incredible talent for building cakes, but her genuine passion for it. I had a million questions for her (mostly things like, 'how do you work an oven?' and 'can I pretend to have made this cake, and bring it home to impress my children?' so, I invited her for tea - and she brought CAKE!!
Katherine is a colouful, insightful and thoughtful human. She believes in the the power of backing yourself, taking risks and making beautiful things!
Hope you enjoy the conversation. x

(July 20, 2019) Mother of 3 beautiful children and Founder and Director of Blacklist Jaynie Johnson and her husband, Nate started the business 11 years ago and have built a loyal following in the creative space. I love their description of what they do - 'We create art. By dreamers, for dreamers.' Make sure you check out their work.
I first met Janie a few years ago and I was struck by her calm and positive nature. She’s one of those people who seem to glow from the inside out. The more I got and get to know her, the more impressive she becomes – not only because she oozes coolness, but she has a strength and wisdom that is rare. When Jaynie and Nate became pregnant with their second child Dare, they were to discover at birth that he was born with down syndrome. I’ll leave it to Jaynie to tell the unfolding of life after Dare, but I think you will agree with me that this family know how to do family right. Their goal is to raise their kids to be resilient, kind and loving humans, to show them that anything is possible in life, no matter what the circumstance.
Jaynie is an example that building a successful business along side raising a strong family unit is very possible. I want encourage anyone listening that knows somebody raising a child with additional needs, to pass this interview onto them. I know they will benefit from hearing Jaynie’s story. She is wise beyond her years, and has experienced first hand all the emotions that go hand in hand with living a very full life.
You will love Jaynie, she is a true light.

(Aug. 3, 2019) My friend of over 3 decades, Alex Perilli joins me for this deeply connected conversation today. As some of you know about me, I grew up in a Pentecostal church in Adelaide. It’s a place that I hold very dear to me. It’s a place that helped mould me into the human I am today. The environment set me up with strong values and morals and a connection with God that I cherish and call upon daily. For me, it was a wonderfully positive experience where I made life long friends and even met my future husband!
It is in this church that I met Alex. A life of the party, talented and all round awesome guy. He is magnetic, kind, thoughtful and fun. We were instant friends (albeit – we were 5!), and have remained close since then. Unbeknownst to myself and our close knit community of friends, Alex was in a battle we never saw – a struggle with his sexuality.
His journey to get to this place of honesty was big, complicated and difficult. He is one of the best people I know, and him coming to share his story was one of the most emotional days I have had in the history of Tea with Jules.
Just a side note – we talk about some heavy stuff in this chat, mostly about faith and sexuality – it might trigger someone listening or watching on, but stick with us. I truly believe that this will bring comfort and strength to anyone who might be experiencing something similar to Alex. If you are triggered and feel like you might need someone to talk to please do not hesitate to reach out for help. I’ll add some links in the show notes. You are never alone.

(Nov. 22, 2019) I first heard Leane Flynn speak at 2 events I attended earlier this year. Her story sparked inside of me an urgency to get her message out as far and wide as I could, so I invited her for tea. I'm grateful she came to willingly deliver what I think is vital information to women everywhere.
Leane was suddenly diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in April 2017. There were no obvious signs, no pain or convincing warnings that a large tumour was growing on each ovary and another tumour was growing between Leane’s diaphragm and liver. She had put her consistent bloating and frequent need to urinate down to menopause. After the appropriate surgery, she was diagnosed with Stage 3C advanced ovarian cancer.
As a wife and mother of 3 daughters, her life was understandably turned upside down. She went through all of the emotions and the doctors recommendations for treatments, but the cancer has been relentless and has returned since her initial diagnosis and treatments. She continues to fight the good fight and encourage women to be aware of the signs their bodies may be giving them.
To really grasp the understanding of some facts about ovarian cancer, I turned to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation website (www.ocrf.com.au) and included some of their helpful information around the disease.
‘Raising awareness won’t save lives. In order to save the lives of Australian women, we need to first fund the innovative research that will find an early detection test, and then focus on widespread adoption.
Currently, only 20–25% of women diagnosed with advanced-stage ovarian cancer will survive beyond five years. But with an early detection test, that would skyrocket to over 90%.
Every year, an estimated 1,600 Australian women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
The vast majority of these are at an advanced stage, as there is currently no early detection test, and symptoms are frequently misdiagnosed or not reported. The only way to definitively diagnose ovarian cancer is by taking a tissue sample during surgery.
In Australia, one women dies every eight hours from ovarian cancer.
Although tests and scans can show abnormalities, they cannot provide a diagnosis of ovarian cancer. The only way to currently confirm a diagnosis is by taking a biopsy during surgery and looking at the cells under a microscope.
Ovarian cancer is the eighth most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian females, but the most lethal gynaecological cancer.
Over 50% of the community incorrectly believes a Pap smear will diagnose ovarian cancer.’
The best way we can help as a community and individuals is to help fund research that will find an early detection test. As we have learned, raising awareness won’t save lives.
Leane has put up her hand to be the voice of this horrific disease. Her mission, alongside www.ocrf.com.au is to see funds raised and for ovarian cancer to have early detection available for women.
I hope you are as moved as I was by this chat with Leane – she was so generous in sharing her emotional journey, and I am forever grateful to her for this.

(June 21, 2019) Eleanor Pendleton is intimidatingly beautiful, insanely cool and just to top it off, she’s really, really, lovely. She is the brainchild behind the beauty site and online magazine grittypretty.com and has build a cult following amongst beauty lovers. The site is dedicated to all things make up, skin care and hair. It’s a stunning site – make sure you check it out.
Elle and I have has similar upbringings in terms of being raised in smaller towns by stay at home mum’s and stable families, but as we know, not everything is always smooth sailing in life. That’s what makes it beautiful. Elle shares her story on her rise to the top and the sacrifices she has had to make along the way to get there.
What I love about Eleanor is that she is raw and honest and doesn’t hide behind anything shiny (except for maybe her immaculate skin!)– she is so real about what life looks like. It’s imperfect, it’s messy and she is very aware that everybody is fighting their own silent battles. She has fought her own battles, with confidence and self worth that she was so brave to talk about with me.
I never take for granted the exchange that happens when I am chatting with someone. People’s stories are precious and I try to handle them all with care. Eleanor is no exception. She is insanely loveable, so very smart and has a determination to change the world for the better

(June 28, 2019) Samantha Wills is one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. The first time I met her I was asked to style her for the cover of The Collective magazine. I was already a wreck with nerves come the day of shooting, but Samantha made the day so easy with her down to earth nature and cool, casual approach. Not to mention, the girl looks good in ANYTHING!
Samantha is someone I have always wanted to have on Tea with Jules, and when I heard she was in town (she lives part time in New York city!), I jumped at the chance to gather her pearls of wisdom. She didn't disappoint.
Samantha is an inspiration to not only budding entrepreneurs but any woman who wants to be brave in life and business. She explains that kindness and assertiveness can co-exist (yay!) and that authenticity and empathy makes a great leader. We talk about how she believes that the force is female and how we as women can contribute to that force.
She is kind, funny, passionate and BOSS. You don't want to miss this.

(June 9, 2019) You will recognize the wonderful Julia Zemiro from the telly. She is an actress, radio & television presenter, singer, writer and comedian. The gal can really do it all! Hosting shows like RocKwiz, Thank God You’re Here, Eurovision and Home Delivery, Julia has experience for days, and she is every bit the warm, friendly and funny woman you expect her to be.
I first met Julia when my husband Guy ventured off to Vienna for Australia’s very first entry into Eurovision where Julia was hosting along side Sam Pang. I don’t think I’ve ever had a more fun time in all my life! It’s an experience that will stay with me forever. What I noticed about Julia from that trip was her commitment to the job. She was so professional and brilliant at what she does.
Her most recent role has seen her become the Artistic Director for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival – the world’s largest cabaret festival – go Adelaide – who knew! It’s a role she is very proud of and you can see she is having a ball being involved.
At the core of this already very impressive human, is a smart, endearing woman who really knows who she is. She has held her position in career and life by empowering others in her industry, saying no even when it’s hard to, and showing up to every job and situation just as she is – her true authentic self.
She was all in on our conversation. Her offering was generous and honest and I learned so many life lessons just listening to her. I had an absolute hoot chatting with Julia – I could have honestly stayed all day.

(July 7, 2019) If the word ‘dashing’ could morph itself into human form-it would come the shape of Neale Whitaker.
When you invite the former editor of Vogue Living and Belle Magazine, into your freshly built house, it comes with a mixture of sheer terror and equal amounts of curiosity for what his opinion might be. When he entered the kitchen I went into a minor meltdown about if we had put the dishwasher and the bin in the correct position in the kitchen! As we all know from Neale's legendary position as judge on The Block-these sorts of things can rob you of some costly points. Once I realised I wasn’t in fact on an episode of reality TV, but having one of the loveliest humans to grace the planet for a tea and a chat, I was put instantly at ease by Neal’s charm and charisma.
His knack for interiors and style is unmatched but his deep level of thinking and firm grip on reality makes for beautiful conversation. We go deep on life matters and Neal reveals his truest heart. We talk about fighting fear, building and loosing confidence, the moment he realised he was gay and what he wants to remembered for. This chat got me good.
I was blown away by Neal's wisdom, calm nature and his genuine want to impact others for the better. He even offers some incredible relationship advice! I have been focusing on the subjects of self worth, self confidence and what success means to people in this series of Tea with Jules. Everyone's answers have been very helpful to hear and Neal's thoughts are no exception. I will take what he said and apply them in my own life.
I sincerely hope you love this chat as much as I did – both Neale and I didn’t want it to end – but he had to catch a flight – so I couldn’t let him miss that!
It's a tear jerker - you've been warned!

(July 13, 2019) Did you know that the first 8 minutes of your day, sets your brain up for the rest of your day? Did you also know that your emotions only last for 90 seconds in your nervous system unless you keep talking about them?
We are starting with a bang with my next beautiful guest. Chelsea Pottenger specialises in psychology and neuroscience. I discovered her through some girlfriends who had heard Chelsea give a talk and they were absolutely raving about this woman. I can now see why.
Chelsea guides me through some important and relevant subjects in this chat. She believes in the power of mindfulness and gives some powerful keys to find balance and have a healthy state of mind.
In a world full of pain, this is serious talk. As I watched this edit back, I was in tears. We really went there. A heads up for those about to watch - we hit the heavy stuff. Suicide, postnatal depression, parenting and mental health. It’s important to talk about what is happening around us, and more important to seek help if we are suffering. If nothing, when you tune into the conversation and you feel any of the things we talk about, don’t be alone. Reach out and find someone to talk to. You are loved and cherished.
Chelsea is, at her core, there to make this world a better place. One brain at a time. It was an honour to have her for tea.

Steve Cordony is a master of interior style and life styling.
‘I don’t know what’s on the other side of this, but I trust that I can pick up the pieces’
Go grab a cuppa and enjoy Sally Fitzgibbons on Tea with Jules. xx

CALLING ALL PARENTS!

What an exciting day this is!

‘There’s no shame in asking for a hand. Accepting that you need help and asking for it is the brave part. Giving someone a hand is just as brave.’ Ben Higgs
Welcome back to Tea with Jules 2020. We continue on with the brave series, learning that bravery comes in all kinds of forms. Ben Higgs is the founder of The Rise Foundation.

Angela Ceberano has been my friend for over a decade.

I first heard Leane Flynn speak at 2 events I attended earlier this year.

This is PART 2 of Rabia Siddique's story. If you missed the first part, you can watch it here https://julessebastian.com/tea-with-jules-rabia-siddique-on-equal-justice-part-1/
Continuing along with our brave series on Tea with Jules, I could not go past the story of my next guest.

Tash Sefton is a fashion and online business force.

The sweetest episode of Tea with Jules yet!
Hope you enjoy the conversation. x

My friend of over 3 decades, Alex Perilli joins me for this deeply connected conversation today.

Mother of 3 beautiful children and Founder and Director of Blacklist Jaynie Johnson and her husband, Nate started the business 11 years ago and have built a loyal following in the creative space.

If the word ‘dashing’ could morph itself into human form-it would come the shape of Neale Whitaker.
Samantha Wills is one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting.
Now, go ahead - get your cuppa and join the conversation.
Enjoy! x

Eleanor Pendleton is intimidatingly beautiful, insanely cool and just to top it off, she’s really, really, lovely.

You will recognize the wonderful Julia Zemiro from the telly.
