Are You Sharing Your Authentic Self With Your Audience?
Followers online are fickle creatures, and they can sense when they are being sold inauthenticity. To maintain trust with your audience, you must learn to bring your most authentic self to everything you post on social media. People don’t like being kept at arm’s length and do not like being lied to. So is it possible to cultivate authenticity for your audience when sharing yourself so openly online might not be second nature to you? Absolutely!
Today we’re going to cultivate authenticity online and show you how to show your best self online and build connections with your audience!
How to Authentically Connect With Your Audience
To connect authentically with your audience, it helps to understand why they’re following (or would follow) you in the first place. Do they share common ground with your struggles, passions, or desires? Have you done the market research to determine which demographics gravitate to you, and what kinds of trials and tribulations are they going through that would make them find comfort, help, or entertainment in the services you provide?
Your Struggles Are Pure Gold
People crave being understood. It’s a natural part of being human. When someone discovers another person who relates to their struggles, worries, or problems, they feel less alone and forge connections. Connecting to your audience authentically requires you to be willing to share parts of yourself that are vulnerable. If you only convey your wins and never your mistakes or failures, that feels less authentic because audiences know that nobody is perfect, and no venture goes precisely according to plan. Sharing those bumps and swerves in your journey with your audience is intrinsically relatable because we’ve all been there! We’ve all struggled to move forward and experienced the grind of failure after failure toward a solution that works. Sharing those stories with your audience creates opportunities for them to understand more about your story and empathize with your journey, conveying a stronger sense of authenticity and integrity.
Sharing is Caring and It Equals Big Money
Understanding your own story and sharing it with others is essential to connecting with your audience. Take the time to sit down and map out what got you into your business in the first place and why you decided to pursue it. Get personal: have you always wanted to pursue your current business, or did you have other aspirations? What skills and experiences have you gone through to grow your existing business, and where do you hope to see it grow in five years? Were there people in your life who encouraged or challenged you in a way that steered you onto your current career path? These stories fascinate your audience, and sharing them will help build a greater understanding of who you are and why people should root for you!
How to Get Past the Discomfort of Authenticity
Not everyone is naturally comfortable sharing with strangers. Not everyone is comfortable speaking in public! That’s okay because you can learn how to improve your confidence in time and practice. Still, it does take serious practice, and you may need to work at it until you get to a place where you feel great about being open and vulnerable in front of your audience.
Actors and public speakers, for example, take classes and spend a lot of time practicing and preparing to be confident speaking in front of crowds or a camera, so don’t feel overwhelmed if you’re not there yet! It takes time, and that’s okay.
Preparedness is the Key to Skipping Discomfort
A lot of the discomfort from speaking on camera comes from lack of preparation, so the easiest way to curb that feeling is to take some time to ruin a few takes on purpose and let yourself practice talking about yourself. You’d be surprised how many seemingly improvised short videos where people are just riffing to the camera are the third, fifth, or twelfth take! As you practice, you’ll naturally edit yourself, and your thoughts will become more concise and stay ready at the forefront of your mind when you need them.
Using Video to Build Close Connections With Your Audience
Speaking directly to your audience with a video is the quickest way to share the real you online. The less scripted or rehearsed, the more honest you sound, which makes you appear more trustworthy.
If you’re not used to public speaking or recording and posting videos of yourself, now’s the time to start! The beauty of modern technology means that you can set up a mock video post whenever you want! Set up your phone and record a few minutes of yourself talking about who you are and what your company does, then watch it back and look at how you come across on camera and where your mind goes when you’re speaking off the cuff.
Video Practice is Nice, But Getting it Done is More Important
It takes practice to get good at treating a camera lens like the person listening to you on the other end of the internet, but you can erase those practice videos, and no one has to see them, so don’t worry about messing up! You’ll naturally find yourself refining how you speak about yourself and your company naturally the more you practice, which will make conversations and video posts easier the more you work at it. Eventually, you’ll be such a strong presence that you’ll be ready to try Instagram Live and talk in real-time to your audience in the chat!
So much of the way we connect gets lost in translation when we text or email. Building your confidence enough to post videos of yourself sharing your message on social media is the best way to convey who you are, what you’re about, and why people should listen to what you have to say!
The Benefits of Authenticity (Your Business will Grow)
There are so many natural upsides to being your authentic self online. Most importantly, it’s easier to keep a consistent brand if your brand is YOU! If you’re trying to be someone else or an inauthentic version of you that you think your audience wants, that’s not sustainable.
When your audience feels like they understand you and where you’re coming from, they are much more willing to go to bat for you and root for your success than if they were communicating with your brand. On social media, effective small business owners build the core integrity of their brand around their authentic drive, character, and passion for what they do, and audiences can feel that and relate to those highs and lows.
Your Vunerablity is the Key to Your Success
People want to support the underdog, the tenacious inventor, the passionate hobbyist, the risk-takers, the entertainers, the movers, and shakers! They don’t care about brands on their own; there will always be another brand to come along and do what you do in a slightly different way, but there will forever and always only be ONE of you. That makes you unique and someone worth rooting for!
Free Getting the Most of Social Media Download
By the way, I’ve got a great free download you can use to make the most of social media you can grab here! And I have a ton of other social media workbooks, checklists, templates and freebies that will help you grow your social media by leaps and bounds.
My Challenge For You
Part 1: Record Your First Authetic Video
Schedule 30 minutes to record your first authentic video
Set up your phone and record yourself speaking to the camera as if you were communicating with a new client
Tell them about yourself and your business.
Watch the video playback and try not to pay too much attention to how you look on camera.
Note which parts of your story came to mind quickly and where you had to collect your thoughts.
Step 2: Record the Real One
This time, your story should be more concise.
This time, make sure to weave in more vulnerability into your video.
Focus on the REAL reason why you do what you do.
Focus on how to got to where you are today!
More importantly, focus on your audience - talk directly to them. Tell them you understand where they are coming from, that you’ve been there, and that you would love to guide them to where they want to be (that’s where you are right now!)
Step 3: Post it
Choose your favorite social media platform and post it
Write content for your post that will hook your audience immediately
Make sure to use hashtags!
Spend some time drumming up awareness by liking/commenting on other people (your ICAs) posts
Step 4: Take a Break & Check In
Once you’ve done steps 1-3, take a break and come back later to check out your analytics and insights.

We are all the main characters in our own stories, and your customers are no different! When you take time to understand your ICA's needs, wants, and preferences and use this to shape your marketing efforts, you build a level of trust and rapport with your audience that will prove invaluable in the long run.
A customer-centric marketing strategy maximizes opportunities for you to connect with your ICA and position yourself as someone who wants to support them - not someone who just wants their money. When your customers feel heard and appreciated, they are more likely to interact with you by following you on social media, signing up for that how-to guide, making a purchase, or recommending your services to a friend!
Making your customer the hero in your story isn't difficult; it just requires a different approach!

Facebook is king. But, don't take my word for it; just ask someone if they have a Facebook account. The chances are that they will say "Yes!"
Do you know how many people use Facebook every month? Over 2.6 billion users! And 1.73 billion of those users are on it daily. So I know you can see the opportunity here.
So, let's talk about ads! What used to be a simple way for brands to reach their customers is now a complicated mess of algorithms and machine learning. As business owners we often feel like we do not have enough time in the day. Personally, it isn't easy to accomplish my work goals and personal aspirations if I don't manage my time wisely. Over the past 20 years I have learned that the more time I spend doing one thing, the less time I have to do other things. If you're reading this, then the chances are that you're feeling the same way.
It is challenging, if not impossible, to predict one's success. A considerable percentage of people will predict they won't succeed at their goals, but many are pleasantly surprised when they do. The problem is that people don't want to take the proper steps to achieve what they want. Procrastination often gets in the way; people say they don't have the time, but it's really because they don't want to try.
That's why time is your equalizer. Whether you take the long or the short way, time matters in the end; it is the one thing that we all get. Time is the element that we can't take back. In today’s episode, 10 Time Management Tips to Help You Reach Your Goals, we dive into actionable steps you can implement immediately.

The rise in discovery calls seems to happen in waves. Small businesses, like ours, see a surge of discovery calls right around New Year's, at the beginning of spring, and just before the end of summer. By understanding the pattern behind the trend, you can be proactive about it to ensure that your company is ready to go for the busy times.
Of course, the goal of any discovery call is to close the deal and enter into the onboarding process for your clients. The "Yes" is great, but what comes after the purchase is even more critical. Businesses should create an easy customer onboarding process to ensure that sales are converted into lifelong customers. The key to a successful onboarding process starts with good sales messaging that showcases the value and then continues through nurturing to customer loyalty.
I quickly realized during my own sessions that I hadn't executed a system to make an excellent first impression with potential clients. I felt unprepared, and the stress was killing me. In fact, I have learned a lot over the past 20 years in business of what not to do. The marketing game has come a long way since its humble beginnings. Commercial marketing as we know it came about later in the 19th century, evolving to what it is today – an inescapable part of growing your business.
Now, knowing that you need a marketing strategy and enacting a marketing strategy are two different matters. Everywhere you look on the internet, you find information flung at you from every direction and medium. We are awash in stimuli for most of our day on our mobile devices, laptops, and computer monitors. When you consider marketing your business amidst this deluge of content, it can seem pretty overwhelming!
Thankfully, you can use a digital marketing tool that provides some evergreen content options and is easy to digest: videos. I'm talking about using video in conjunction with social media, email marketing funnels, and on your website to catch the eyes of the casual swiper and make them stick around to see what you're about. It's sometimes too easy to lose an audience to a wall of text, but a video can sink its hooks into people and immensely boost click-through rate (CTR).
So, let me share some ways you can harness video marketing to make affordable, valuable content that's great for your ROI and is generally pretty fun to create!

As a business owner, you know you gotta' hustle to keep it all going. There's so much on your plate, from marketing to hiring staff to planning and refining your strategy! Figuring out the work/life balance can be a struggle when you feel stressed about making ends meet. So, what if you looked into other revenue streams? Like, one's that you don't have to work at consistently? I'm talking passive income for your business.
These are the side-hustles that earn you money with less work than your steady 9-5. They still require work, but most of that is done upfront in establishing the income stream. After that, it's periodic check-ins to update and maintain. How much you earn entirely depends on the amount of effort and money you are willing to invest at the onset. But, once you establish a passive income source, you earn greater financial and personal freedom.
I want to share some great passive income alternatives with you since small business owners are often so busy hustling to build a business from the ground up. It can be hard to consider other avenues of income generation, so let me show you what's out there to help you make a little, or a lot, of extra cash.

Gosh. Sometimes it's baffling to think that Facebook was ever a social networking site for Harvard students when you look at the beast it has become now. As of 2021, it boasts 2.85 billion monthly users.
2.85 billion is a staggering number of people when you stop to think about it. And as a small business, it's hard not to get excited by the prospect of all those people seeing your advertisement on the world's most popular social networking platform. If I could sell 1 item for $1 to all of them, that's $2.85 billion at month's end; I'd be happy to retire with Jayson to a beach house on the Mediterranean. Unfortunately, it's not that easy.
That said, I'll happily share my insight on how small business owners like you can optimize Facebook advertising to help grow your business. That means getting specific about what your advertising goals are, knowing the elements that make up your ad, and even harnessing their analytics to adjust your plan, along with other great tips!

I have a theory that only a few digital marketers out there actually know anything about fishing.
When you read something online about marketing, people often bring up fishing. There is a parallel between catching a big fish and landing a new customer. It's an easy metaphor. That is why a lot of the advice you hear about how to fish for new clients is kind of terrible. They might know marketing, but they don't know the first thing about fishing!
This latest episode is pretty fishy, but in a fun, pun way! I'm also going to get back to the basics of digital marketing to help you build an actionable, affordable digital marketing plan that can yield results. From identifying your ideal customer avatar to suggested marketing tools, you can start to form a marketing strategy that is going to convert new clients quickly!

I genuinely think a webinar is one of the best pieces of content that a small business owner can make.

A question I often get is, “When it comes to online marketing, which is better? Social media, or email marketing?”
The answer is far from simple, but I can tell you that email marketing has some distinct advantages over social media. For one thing, you own your email list. If a social media network shuts down or there is a database breach, you could lose many of your followers. With email marketing, that isn’t an issue! For another thing, email marketing has the highest ROI!
So in this week’s episode, I’m going to be going through email marketing and why it’s such a remarkably versatile and useful way to connect with your clients. Social media marketing can show an incredible ROI, but email marketing is at the very foundation of most every digital strategy!

Do you feel that your social media growth has stalled?
One of the most frustrating parts about creating an online community is the feeling that it isn’t growing. You start pages for your businesses on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and invest hours and hours into them, only to see your followers tick up one at a time in slow motion.
Many social media “experts” will tell you that the trick to social media is perseverance, and I agree with that. However, it’s important to remember that spending hours every day on social media is NOT your job! And it’s NOT a good use of your time! You’re a small business owner with a ton of daily responsibilities, not to mention you should be spending the bulk of your time on that one thing that only you can do. Spending your time on Instagram is not one of them.
You may be wondering how you can grow your social media if you aren’t supposed to be spending your time doing so, right? In this episode, I will go over how a digital marketing team can handle the daily engagement, figure out the best groups for your business, discover hashtags for your specific audience, create content that is engaging, and help you succeed with your Instagram Stories!
Hiring a digital marketing team with social media marketing experience is an excellent investment for any small business owner.

What do you think when you hear the words “content creation.”
Whenever you sit down at your desk to write something, you are arguably creating content. Whether that be a private email, a newsletter for your business, or a public blog, it’s all content. The only difference is the audience that the content is meant for.
Content creation is one of the most time-demanding aspects of being a small business owner. That’s why many small business owners have taken to using a virtual assistant to write the vast majority of their content.
In this episode of Digital Marketing Made Simple, I will have you consider the amount of time that you’re spending working on content. Think about all the ways you can better spend your time doing things that only you can do to grow your business, rather than wasting your energy on things that someone else could do instead.
I will share five ways you can use a virtual assistant to revolutionize your business’ content marketing strategy! How great does that sound?!

Something that I tell all of my clients is that they can't do everything themselves. No matter what stage your business is in, there will always be projects and tasks that eat up time and sabotage your day. For these reasons and more, it pays to hire a virtual assistant (like me!).
In this episode, I'll explain just what a virtual assistant is and what they can do for you. It starts with small but frequent day-to-day tasks like keeping up with email and clients. But a virtual assistant can also help with large-scale projects like product launches, webinars, graphic design, and the "I didn't realize it took this much time" task of keeping up with your business' social media.
Beyond explaining the benefits of a virtual assistant, I offer advice on how to find one, a story of how I learned that even a VA could use a VA, and more.

Releasing content regularly—whether its blog posts, videos, social media content, or podcasts—can be a ton of work, and trying to create all that content every week can be a never-ending process. How can you ever get ahead? Easy: Batch it!
In my 20+ years in the digital marketing and virtual assistant industry, I've learned that the only way I can keep up with my own business' marketing and still be there for my clients is the batch method. Batching content means creating up to a month's worth of content at once. You will be amazed at how much time and stress this will save you.
In this episode, I discuss the hows and whys of batching content, but most of all, what kind of content is perfect for this method. Blog posts, podcasts, videos, and more are ideal for building in groups, and I'll cover details about all of these, plus six steps to follow so you can do it yourself.

In business, it's critical to follow up. If you leave potential customers and clients to their own devices, the chances are that they will get distracted by their daily lives. To keep them as active prospects, you need to nurture the relationships. A great way to do this is through an email nurture sequence. With several short and simple emails, you can start to build a relationship and eventually lead your new email subscribers to become full-fledged clients!
In this week's podcast, I'll explain the importance of your email list and why you can't rely on your social media following alone. But more importantly, I'll discuss what goes into creating a nurture sequence, starting from a lead magnet to your first email to new subscribers, and a structure for subsequent follow-up messages.
Finally, we'll talk a bit about two vital parts of any email campaign. This means ensuring you're offering an enticing Call-to-Action (CTA) and the importance of sounding authentic, so your readers don't feel like they're reading form letters or fill-in-the-blanks templates.

As a small business owner, I've faced countless difficulties throughout my career and made my share of mistakes along the way. Since the next best thing to learning from your own mistakes is learning from someone else's, I decided to share some of the biggest mistakes I've made in my 20 years of running Jennie Lyon Digital Marketing and Virtual Assistant Services. The good thing is that I now know how to learn from those mistakes. But trust me, that wasn't easy!
Today I will revisit several of these situations and share the lessons I learned along the way! Here are some highlights of what you'll find this week:
My wake-up call to hire my own Virtual AssistantIronically, despite being a Virtual Assistant and knowing how helpful it is for business owners to rely on my help, I told myself for years that I didn't need a VA of my own. Instead, I would keep trying to do everything myself, no matter how unsustainable it was. Eventually, I took my own advice and saw my business thrive.
Growing my teamAlong the lines of hiring a Virtual Assistant, my resistance to hiring team members was also holding me back. Just because I CAN do every part of a project by myself doesn't mean I should, even if there was an unlimited amount of time in the day. By learning where and when to delegate, I've been able to serve my clients better and get my life back.
Putting off my health and well-beingIf you're a workaholic like me, you know how easy it is to get wrapped up in work and put off things like exercise. I fell into this trap, causing no shortage of adverse effects on my life and health. I had to experience this as a reminder that yes, you really need to consistently take care of yourself for many reasons. Staying healthy—besides the obvious benefits—even will benefit your work life. Getting back into my routine was one of the best things I ever did for myself.

Launching and running a webinar—or series of webinars—requires an incredible amount of work. So much goes into the preparation, planning, and post-presentation of a webinar in addition to the event itself. It can be a daunting prospect, but I'm here to help you make sense of it all.
In this episode, I'll cover the whole webinar workflow, starting with initial research and planning. That means making sure you write down everything about your topic that you will want to cover, writing a script, and having the visual aspects of your webinar ready.
After that, it's prep time! Rehearsing your presentation is vital to help you feel more at ease and familiar with what you will be saying.
A virtual assistant can help with these parts of the webinar process, but perhaps the area where the extra hands are most helpful is during the webinar itself. I've helped many clients present their webinars by being on-hand with audio/video advice along with monitoring the chat, related resources, follow up emails, you name it!

So many people focus solely on building their social media following that they forget they don't actually OWN their followers. You're at the mercy of Facebook, or Twitter, or Instagram. If something happens, you're out of luck. That's why your email list is so important, though the tricky part is to build that list.
Over my 20+ years in the marketing field, the best way I've found to build your list of clients (and potential clients) is with lead magnets. So in this episode, I'll explain why lead magnets are so effective and important (you might not believe my recent Facebook experience that reinforces this belief!).
Along with discussing how lead magnets, funnels, and nurture sequences benefit you and why you should be offering them, I also talk about some specific examples of lead magnets that I use that are so effective, my clients want to adapt them for their own businesses! You can find those links below, along with several workbooks that I reference in the episode.

This week, I'll share tips on effective copywriting to deliver content that is genuinely engaging and gets your clients (or potential clients!) to take action. I'll be discussing copywriting across a few main sections, from copy types to style, and more:
Types of Copy for Digital Marketing
Copywriting StyleIn this section, I'll discuss what makes the difference between good copywriting and bad copywriting. While I can sum up the differences in two words—readability and relatability—there's a bit more to it!
Inspire People to Take Action!Of course, you want your copy and marketing to encourage people to take action, but it's important not to write copy that only screams, "sales, sales, sales" all the time. The trick is to be upfront about your offerings and explain why you want a customer to take action without annoying them or turning them off. It's crucial to maintain a laser-like focus on a single Call to Action and write your copy with that in mind.
How to Deal with Writer's BlockIt doesn't matter if you're a professional novelist, reporter, or marketer: Writer's block can strike at any time. Thankfully, I have several effective strategies for dealing with it, and one of the most helpful is to have copywriting templates on hand.
Finally, Know Your Ideal Customer AvatarIt's a common mistake for small business owners to cast as wide a net as possible to bring in more people. Unfortunately, this is not very effective, which is why it's essential to know your ICA (Ideal Customer Avatar)—who they are, what they like, respond to, and more—and tailor your messaging accordingly.

Last week's podcast episode was all about the ins and outs of auditing your website. This week, I'll be talking about auditing your social media presence. Social media isn't optional anymore; it's a necessary part of owning a small business, so you'll want to make sure your social media works for you!
There are so many social media platforms out there, but don't let that scare you. I'll cover some of the main ones useful for small (or any!) business: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
I'll detail many areas to research to get started on this audit, including:
Next, we get into some of the more technical aspects of each platform to evaluate how they perform. (Don't worry, it's not too technical!) This step involves using built-in analytics tools to discover your top-performing posts and content types. By learning what resonates with your audience, you can use it to guide new content. A great way to track and plan this content is by creating a social media calendar—look below for a link to my free template.
Another vital aspect of this evaluation step is continually monitoring how your content is performing on each platform, which includes deciding which platforms are best for you. Even if you learn that one may not work well, that's okay! It tells you that you can either try and improve that one or focus your efforts more on the platforms with the audience and engagement that works for you.
Once you've finished this evaluation phase, one of the most essential things you should do is to boost your bio/about info on each platform. This copy will give your visitors some context about you and what you offer, and should be story-driven, infused with your personality, and focused on benefits. Each platform has different requirements for length, from Instagrams's very short 150-character limit to the additional space afforded by Facebook and LinkedIn. Regardless of platform, you want to optimize your bio to be succinct and to the point, so users can get an idea of who you (and your business) are in as short a time as possible. Think of this bio copy as a quick "elevator pitch" to quickly deliver the most important information.
If you want some help juicing up your social media, I offer several free resources on my website, such as workbooks and templates, which you can download from the links below!

I can already hear you asking: What is a website audit, and why should I do one? You built your website or hired someone to make it, so aren't you done now? The secret? A website is never done! New updates, features, and design trends come into play regularly. Maybe you were happy with the design a couple of years ago, but are you still content? Is it as effective as it could be, and optimized for mobile devices?
A successful audit will cover the full range of someone visiting your website from the first thing they see ("Point A") to the last action you want them to take, such as contacting you or making a purchase ("Point Z").
These are just a few aspects of a website audit, but you can get a sense of what we'll be covering in this week's podcast. Below is a rundown of the general main sections included in a website audit, which all fall into "frontend" items (what visitors will see) and "backend" items (the behind-the-scenes building blocks of your site):
Branding - Think of your website branding like a storefront window. The look and feel that you present is what will determine how effectively it pulls people in. You want to determine if your logo correctly represents you or your business and delivers the right message. Since this is one of the first things people will see, that leads us to the next item:
Home Page - The first thing I do during a website audit is to browse the home page to get a feel of the general user experience, from the branding to the "above the fold" content (the first things people see). Next, analyze that content: Is there enough/too much? Is the copy presented in a user-friendly way, or is it a single giant paragraph? This page needs to be easy to read and convey what you offer as briefly as possible.
About - A good about page will humanize you, give visitors a sense of who you are, and how and why you created your business. I learned long ago that my about page gets a ton of traffic since people want to know who I am, so I often recommend including an opt-in here to encourage people to sign up for my newsletter.
Services/Products - Whatever it is you offer, you'll want your service or product pages to have a consistent look for ease of use and "scannability." Make sure your copy is easy to digest with smaller paragraphs and bullet points when possible. Including Calls to Action here can get your services and product pages to convert for you.
Blog - Blogs are good for SEO (search engine optimization) and to help position yourself as an expert in your industry. Plus, the more free content that you offer, the better. One of the more important things you should do when auditing is to ensure links inside blogs still function. Especially on older posts, it's common to find broken links. But people can still find these posts useful, so you want to make sure everything still works properly!
If you have a blog already, you'll find that you can get a real sense of the most popular content with your readers by checking your website analytics and using that as a guide for future content and blogs.
Contact - You'll want your contact page to be crisp and clean, simple, but informative. An effective contact page contains your contact info (email, phone, social media, or any avenues you want people to use to contact you), a Call to Action, and physical location if applicable.
Last are those "backend" items. These are things that visitors don't see, but are vital for keeping your site running correctly and effectively.
Security - Ensure you have an SSL certificate, and if you don't have any security plugins installed, you should! You'll also want to ensure you're using secure passwords, keeping plugins up-to-date, and enabling security options.
SEO - Optimizing your pages and posts for search engines is a must to get the most traction online. If your site is on WordPress, I recommend a plugin like Yoast SEO to help guide you for this step and ensure every page is optimized for maximum reach.
Website audits can take a couple of hours if you're to give every corner of your website a proper look. I recommend a full audit once a year, while general maintenance is an ongoing task that you should do at least monthly.
If all this sounds like a lot of work, it is! But I am here to help: See the links below to get a free download of my Ultimate Website Audit Workbook! Of course, if you don't have the time or resources for a website audit, we do these all the time, so don't hesitate to contact me to learn more.

Thirty years ago, one of the best ways for businesses to connect with customers was in their cars, due to the ubiquity of people listening to their radio on the way to and from work. This episode is all about lead magnets and why they're vital for any business. An effective lead magnet is a must to grow your email list, so in this episode, I dig deep into this topic. I'll cover everything from what a lead magnet actually is (with examples!), why they matter, and strategies for crafting effective messaging to convert people.
I also share several types of lead magnets to help you decide what will work best for your business. Would offering a free workbook entice potential customers to sign up for your email list? Maybe a helpful cheat sheet, a quiz, a video series, or something else is more aligned with your business. Whatever it may be, the key is finding what you can offer to give people an idea of what they can expect if they work with you. And then moving them to the next step of our customer journey with a nurture sequence that converts!
