Team Kansas finished with four All-Americans at the 2019 Junior Nationals. Morgan Mayginnes of Onega was 8th at 152 lbs., Amanda Newcome of Osawatomie was 6th at 100 lbs., Nikki Moore of Nickerson finished in third-place at 112 lbs., and Elisa Robinson of Junction City was National Runner-up at 180 lbs.

Kansas has lost one of its most high-profile wrestling personalities.
Joe Seay is a stand out in the history of wrestling in the state of Kansas. He was born in Oklahoma, but was raised in Wellington, Kansas where he graduated from Wellington High School in 1958. He won the 141-pound state championship during his senior year and went on to compete for Kansas State University.
Seay was a successful high school coach in California before creating a nation power in NCAA Division II at Cal State Bakersfield. That success led him to Oklahoma State University, where he brought back to back NCAA titles to the Pokes in 1989 and 1990. He was at OSU from 1985-91. Seay went on to various coaching positions including with USA Wrestling national teams and at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Coach Seay passed away yesterday at the age of 80.

Meet the most decorated Cadet and Junior Nationals wrestler for Team Kansas... ever! The 3X State Champion, 4X All-American for Iowa State continued his career after college with the Hawkeye Wrestling Club. He was a World Team member in 1999 and was an Olympic Alternate in both 1996 and 2000.

Barry Davis made a name for himself in the 1980s as a competitor and followed that with a long tenure as Head Coach at the University of Wisconsin. He will be helping out on the coaching staff for Team Kansas as they prepare for the Junior Duals.

Conner Ward was a four-time State Finalist and State Champion at Mill Valley before becoming the first signee in the history of the Little Rock program. Conner was a fixture of Team Kansas during his high school days.

Quick update from the 16U National Duals in Spokane... Update on the update... Team Kansas finishes 2-2 in pool play. Greco will conclude tomorrow with Freestyle beginning Friday.
Boo Dryden worked his way through the USAWKS system from the Schoolboy through Junior level and had success at the high school folkstyle level as well with two State Titles. He went on the Northeast Oklahoma A & M where he captured the 2019 NJCAA National Title at 133 pounds. His next stop is the University of Minnesota
Coach Andy Albright has it going on at Chanute High School. He has brought an already solid program to a trophy contender at the State tournament year in and year out. Coach Albright is a big supporter of summer wrestling and has sent large contingents to Fargo over the years.
David Ray is one of the most successful wrestlers ever from the Sunflower State. He excelled from the high school to college level and went on to a hall of fame career at Montana State Northern as a coach.
Maize High's Kyle Haas joins the program. The rising junior turned more than a few heads at this weekend's UWW Cadet World Team Trials in Akron when he came out on top in BOTH Greco and Freestyle at 92 KG. He will represent the US in Bulgaria this fall at the World Championships.

Team Kansas competed well at the UWW World Team Trials in Akron. Included among the four All-Americans was Kyle Haas, who won the title and the right to represent Team USA at the UWW Cadet World Championships this fall in Bulgaria

Adam Venegas is one of the most recognizable names and faces in Kansas wrestling circles. He has continued to work high level events as an official and will again serve as the 16U Team Leader for the National Duals.

Cadet Women and Men have concluded the Freestyle portion of Fargo 2018. The guys came away with three All-Americans, including Kyle Haas who finished in 3rd place.
As Fargo 2018 Kicks off, it is fitting to remember Chuck Elvin, who recently passed away. Chuck was a giant of Kansas Wrestling. Chuck, along with his wife Cherie, were a big part of the USA Wrestling organization for years and responsible for its growth into what it is today.
Team Kansas is headed to Fargo 2018! The team made a stop in South Dakota along the way to spend time training at Legends of Gold. Founder Terry Pack joins Episode 29 to fill us in on the exciting thing happening at LOG. Coach Pack has strong connections to the Sunflower State, including a stint at Neosho Community College, where he brought a National Championship to the Chanute school.
Travis Keal, Head Coach at Mill Valley and longtime USAWKS coach, joins the program. He will again be in the corner at the Cadet and Junior Nationals in Fargo, ND.
Fasten your seat belts and get set for Fargo 2018. The guys are in the midst of their prep camp at Baker University and getting the mindset necessary to compete at Nationals!
Jason Bryant joins Air Time for Episode 26 of Air Time. The highly-regarded national wrestling personality has credits such as the announcer for the D1 nationals and several high-profile USA Wrestling and UWW events. He was the English-language announcer for wrestling at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He began covering Fargo as a teen and will be attending his 20th Cadet/Junior National tournament later this month.
Will Cokeley joins the program. The Director of the Olympic styles of USAWKS does a great job of letting us know who to follow in Fargo, what changes are in store for the national tournament and training camp, and how to become part of Team Kansas.
Longtime Hoxie coach Mike Porsch joins the program along with a recap of Junior Duals Freestyle and a shout out to Jesse Thielke for making the Greco World Team.
The latest edition of Air Time features Little Rock Head Coach Neil Erisman. Also updates from Tulsa and a tribute to Chuck Elvin.
Ken Kepley joins the program. The head coach at Pratt Community College is heavily involved in coaching with USAWKS. He recently returned from the Cadet Duals in Spokane and will be heading to Tulsa this week for Junior Duals.
Before catching up with Dayton Porsch, we check in with the results from Spokane where the Kansas Cadets are having a historic performance. Team Leader Adam Venegas joins in for a quick update between rounds.
Wyatt Hendrickson joins the show. The Double Fargo AA from a year ago has built his resume since then to include a State Title and a Double AA finish at the UWW Cadet Nationals in Akron.
McPherson's Mya Kretzer joins the program. She has develped into one of the most accomplished wrestlers for Team Kansas. Find out where she has been and where she is going.
Most probably know Bruce Wayne as Batman just as most know Eric Johnson as Chief Renegade. The author of the All-Class and 5A/6A rankings stimulates excitement and banter on-line with his prognostications on the Kansas Wrestling Talk Forum each season. Eric is also a tireless supporter of the sport in the Sunflower State and works to provide opportunities for our athletes to develop their skills and showcase their talents to a national audience. He will serve as Team Leader for the upcoming Junior National Duals, slated for June 19-23 in Tulsa.
Adam Venegas is a fixture on the Kansas Wrestling scene. He won a State Title at Olathe North before playing D1 football at North Texas. He has become a highly regarded official and is as a assistant at Baker University. He will serve as Team Leader for the Cadet National Duals which take place in Spokane in mid-June.
Cordell Duhart joins the show. The 2X State Champ from Blue Valley Southwest is headed to Mizzou this fall and is preparing by training for Fargo. He will be competing at this weekend's Southern Plains Regional before heading to Columbia for Summer School and training with the Tigers.
James Bilby joins the program. From running a successful club to assisting Coach Ross at Derby to serving as Treasurer for USAWKS, Bilby is a mover and shaker! He will be heading up the contingent that will compete in the Schoolboy Duals in Indianapolis in early June.
Paola's National Champion, Jordyn Knect, joins the show to catch us up on her travels and fill us in on her summer plans.
A final Team Kansas recap of the 2017 Cadet/Junior Nationals. Kansas finished with sixteen All-Americans including a National Champion and two other finalists.
Cadet Greco and Woman’s Junior Freestyle are now part of Fargo 2017 history! Kansas finished with three AAs in each division, including National Champion Marissa Patterson. Patterson and fellow Topeka All-American Gavin Carter join the program.
Cadet Woman's Freestlye and Junior Freestyle are now complete. Team Kansas finished with two All-Americans in each division. All-Americans Elisa Robinson, Nicole Moore, and Jalin Harper join the program.
2016 Rio Olympic Greco-Roman wrestler Jesse Thielke joins the show. Thielke will be "Coach Thielke" for Team Kansas in Fargo.
Clay Lautt joins the program. The UWW Cadet Greco World team member is now at the University of North Carolina.
Long time USAWKS State Director Mike Juby joins the program. With twenty-three years at the helm of the organization, Mr. Juby is well respected nationally and has insightful memories and information to share.
Cadet Freestyle All-American Wyatt Hendrickson joins the program after his third-place showing in Fargo.
Doug Kretzer, Head Coach at McPherson High School, joins the program. Coach Kretzer is an advocate for girl's wrestling in Kansas and will be helping coach the girl's team in Fargo.
