The constitutional amendment (known as the Mike Law amendment) on women in ministry was the main focus going into the convention. Did it mean what we thought it would mean? How is the SBC doing? And what about convertibles as group transport?
How are we to take the baptisms in the book of Acts? Should draw our doctrine and practices of baptism from the book of Acts? It seems that Luke has a fairly narrow purpose for writing the book of Acts. He records the Apostles witness of Jesus being the Christ. Baptisms in Acts serve as a testimony that the gospel of grace through Christ is should preached and received among people from Jerusalem, to Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Thus, Baptisms in Acts are the testimony that none are excluded from God's grace in Jesus Christ.

The term "deconstruction" has taken on a broad definition. Whatever its roots, it has become a catch all phrase for undoing the faith and religion handed down to you. What often goes unnoticed is that apostasy is baked into the culture of deconstruction. Questions are good! In fact, we typically should be asking more questions as we grow in understanding our faith. But we ought to be cautious about the kind of deconstruction that simply least to the destruction of faith. We ought also to be aware of how those around might actually start down a path of deconstruction.
You need help. We all need help. We need it in ways we do not even understand, especially as Americans. Christ is our help from heaven. The doctrine of his incarnation and suffering means he is our help through his death and resurrection, now, and forever. In this episode we dip our toes into the waters of deconstruction as well.

Adonijah "exalts himself". In this episode we consider the folly and wickedness of self exaltation. Through 1 Kings Christ is continually glorified up and against the righteous and wicked kings of Israel. It becomes a warning to us and a glory in Christ.

1 Samuel 2:8 (ESV) 8 He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and on them he has set the world. Hannah's prayer miraculous birth and prayer in 1 Samuel 1-2 is the theological introduction to the fall of King Saul and the rise of King David. We see in 1 Samuel that God sovereignly builds up and tears down for his glory in provision to his people. This is most especially true in Christ, the humble King on the cross.

It has been nearly 50 years and 63,000,000 aborted children since abortion was defended as constitutional in the Supreme Court. A leaked opinion draft written but Justice Alito hit the news this week and appears to signal the reversal of what is now considered precedent. This would send the question of legal abortion back to the states and the U.S. Congress. It is impossible to consider this scope of this matter in an episode. Two of the most famous deconstructors are Rhett and Link who boast 16 million Youtube subscribers. Their very public exodus from faith in Christ has led the way in a recent movement. The Gospel Coalition published a book on the phenomenon called “Before You Lose Your Faith: Deconstructing Doubt in the Church”.
