Real Talk
Running requires focus.
The Christian race requires the direct focus of our soul.
Soul: Mind, Will, Emotions
The more races we run in, the more pulled apart our soul becomes.
Before you take on any challenge in your life, you've got to determine your focus will stay on Jesus.
His wisdom is leading me into the right decision. His grace is empowering my will to take action. His peace is giving balance to my emotions. And, my soul is at rest.
Psalm 116:7(NIV) 7 Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.

Good Friday!
Discerning Gifts: Knowledge, Wisdom, Discernment
Real Talk:
God is omniscient
Psalm 147:4-5 "4 He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. 5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit."
How do we wisely and appropriately use these gifts?
1) Communicate naturally.
2) God speaks to people the way they speak to people.
3) Be compassionate, not condescending.

He Said/She Said - Part 1
In our relationships, the main way we sow is through what we say.
Real Talk:
Listen more than you talk.
-Listen for cues in people's communication that show the need for good seed spoken to them.
Listen completely before you answer.
-Proverbs 18:13 "He who answers a matter before he hears it, It is folly and shame to him."
Encourage yourself.
-Maybe you don't have someone right now to encourage you.
-1 Samuel 30:6 "...but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God."

Purpose for More
Core Value #5: We will make church the best place ever.
1 Corinthians 12, 13
Real Talk:
3 ways we can make church the best place ever
1) Identify and use our spiritual gifts
-Allow a spiritually mature friend or leader to speak into you about what gifts they see in you.
-Take a spiritual gifts assessment at revive.giftstest.com
2) Work together
-Working together benefits others just as much as it benefits you
-Give people the opportunity to use their gifts, make mistakes, and even fail. They'll learn more from it. They'll grow because of it.
-Spiritual gifts are designed to work together, just like the components of your smart phone are pointless individually, but built to work together.
3) Remember that love has absolutely everything to do with it
-Love cancels out our excuses.
-Love is the driving force to all we do.
-Love people out of Hell and into Heaven.

Potential for More
Core Value #3: We will never stop counting.
Every number has a name. Every name has a story. Ever story matters to God.
Luke 9:33 (NIV) 33 As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.)
Acts 2: 41 (NIV) 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
If Peter had stayed on the mountain with the 3, he would have missed his part in adding the 3,000.
You have the potential to move from 3 to 3,000.
Real Talk:
What is potential?
-Potential is unrealized possibility.
-Potential and faith are very similar.
-Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.
Move your potential from 3 to 3,000:
-Start learning
-Stop answering questions. Start asking them.
-Kill the FOMO.
Kick your blankets off.
Don't neglect the normal.
Next Week:
-Core Value #4: Give irrationally to cause curiosity. -Provision for More

Poise for More
Poise: strength to remain steadfast
Core Value #2: We will act in audacious faith.
John 15:7 (NKJV) If you remain in me and my words remain in you...
Consistency is the difference between winners and wannabe's.
Real Talk:
Why is consistency so important?
-The power of consistency is what it produces.
-Rhythm ... Habit ... Lifestyle
Where do shortcuts come in?
-Shortcuts are deterrents from consistency. -Shortcuts diminish the value of what you're working toward. -Shortcuts don't have rhythms built in.
Is one time ever enough? -NO
Acting in audacious faith requires consistency.
The greatest attacks occur when you're transitioning from a rhythm to a habit, and when a habit is transforming into a lifestyle.
Live a consistently audacious faith, and you'll begin to understand that through Christ you will always win!

Presence for More
Core Value #1: We will believe that impossible is impossible.
Matthew 19:26 (NKJV) With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Where human strength, human resources, and human ability see the impossible, God sees opportunity. Because with God all things are possible!
To experience the impossible, we need the presence of God in our impossible. We access the presence of God through His Word.
Real Talk:
Why is it so uncomfortable to pray what the Bible says?
-It's not natural. It's supernatural -Waiting is no longer societally acceptable -Our inclination is to focus on the negative
How do I find some "Word" (Scriptures)?
-Use Google, and focus on recognizable Bible study sites -Ask a good friend, pastor, or leader
How can I do this consistently?
-Set a reminder in your phone -Ask someone to hold you accountable -Post reminders around places you visit often - bathroom, refrigerator, car, etc -Make it a family event
Is it wrong to cut out people from my life who tell me this won't work?
-No, but be careful of cutting them out completely -Your testimony might be the one thing that opens the door for them to experience Jesus, and if you cut off the relationship, you'll slam that door shut -People can't speak into your life if you don't give them permission -Hold your vision in your heart
How do I avoid being discouraged? -Remember God doesn't work on your timetable -Continue praying the Word over your impossible. -Don't worry about feeling it, because sometimes faith and feelings don't line up

Preparation for More
Hebrews 12:1-2 (NLT)
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.
1) A weight is something we pick up. 2) A weight is intended to slow us down. 3) A weight is something we can lay down.
Real Talk
How do we identify weights?
-Pray and ask the Holy Spirit - Ask someone close to you: spouse, solid Christian friend, mentor, employer, etc
How do we put weights down?
-Remember the WHY! -Write out an action plan -Find someone to hold you accountable
