How Genocide Happens: Recent Episodes

Dan Haumschild

How Genocide Happens is a collection of courses which explore the complexities of genocide in ways that make this challenging topic more accessible.

The first course 'The Ten Stages' is hosted by Dr. Dan Haumschild, a scholar in the field of genocide studies and an educator by vocation. It addresses the subtle progression of violence from seemingly innocuous acts of classification to the visceral components of mass death. The course is moored by contextual examples from the Holocaust and the Rwandan Genocide; so it provides an introduction to the topic both conceptually and historically.
