Sunday of Labor Day weekend was a good day for American Tennis at the U.S. Open. Serena Williams booked her spot in the quarterfinals with a three set win over Kaia Kanepi before John Isner got the crowd rocking on Armstrong in a 5 set win over Milos Raonic.
We look at all of the days major results before previewing day 8!

2018 is apparently the year of tennis controversy! Another story broke today, this time courtesy of the New York Times, announcing that the U.S. Open will implement a 25 second shot clock rule into the main draw of the year's final major in 2018. Previously tested in the qualifying draw, this rule has already sparked major discussion amongst players an coaches. In modern tennis, players have moved further and further behind the baseline, but a few still have the ability to step in and attack the ball early. One of the most interesting stories to hit tennis in 2018 came out on Monday, as Madison Brengle announced she is suing the ITF, WTA and other involved indaviduals for neglecting to adhere to her medical requirements surrounding blood testing.
