Hi there!

Understanding the importance of teacher wellbeing and how to maintain it is something that many beginning  teachers struggle to do. There is hardly any conversation about teacher wellbeing, and a lot of beginning teachers go into the profession with no understanding of setting healthy work-life boundaries.

Join me in conversation with Miss R, a HSIE Head Teacher in the public sector for education. We discuss all things wellbeing, not feeling guilty about switching off and strategies to overcome burnout.

Hey there!

The teaching industry is full of surprises, and 99% of the time, you are not prepared for most of those surprises. I found that I did most of my 'learning' while on the job, and I also found myself in situations as a teacher that I never thought i'd be in. It's all part of the job. I found a gap in my education at University, and realised that so many beginning teachers go through similar situations.

In this episode, I will be talking about a few things that I have come across as a new beginning teacher and how I handled them.

Hi there!

Teachers are superheroes in disguise. We work hard to make sure our students receive the best possible education and learn to live life to their level best.  We dedicate hours, weeks, months and years into the moulding our students into the best version of themselves.

Teachers tend to go under the radar. Sometimes our hard work isn't visible to others, somewhat like an iceberg. At any given time, you only see 10% of what is really happening. I am a high school teacher and I realised that high school teachers are somewhat under-represented. Therefore, I decided to create a podcast series that will unleash the work of not only high school teachers, but primary school teachers, teachers aid and many more educators.

My podcasts will delve into the world of teaching and we will talk about tips and tricks for teaching (especially beginning teachers), share our teaching stories and just let other teachers know that they are not alone.

So here it is... In Class with Miss K!
