Ok, maybe not at attack but a definitely a vent session from a working parent tasked with organizing the summer calendar. Why is it so hard?
Many working adults don't get a summer break. And one big challenge is understanding the options available for summer care and summer activities for kids. I'm a fairly organized individual and I find it highly frustrating to coordinate schedules and opt-in to the right camps and activities when we need them.
Tune in to hear my personal experiences as the summer coordinator of our house. I also share my plea to camp programs and providers to take some of these issues into consideration. If you want my money, you need to get it together and help a momma out.

If there was a book called rest for dummies, I would buy it.
There is a lot to be said about this "plugged-in" and "hustle" culture we are living in. There are a lot of distractions in this digital world, and always something (or someone) needing attention.
Part of my own personal development journey over the last few years has been focused on mindset. On identifying areas where I am unconsciously preventing myself from reaching a goal or even just blocking myself from moving forward in a particular area. Rest is one of those areas. I've come a long way but I can trace this resistance to the idea of rest back to a few myths I've been led to believe.
Tune in as I bust some common myths about the idea of rest and why it needs to be a higher priority than many of us give.

Planning a child's birthday party can be quite the process. As the parent, you have to learn the skills needed to plan the perfect party that fits perfectly with everyone's schedule and includes every child from their daycare, preschool, or classroom. Or do you?
Were all navigating these choppy waters of trying to give our kids the best birthday experience that doesn't hurt any feelings or leave anyone out. But I'm telling you, it would be a lot easier if we adjusted our expectations as fellow parents to be okay with the fact that not every kid needs to be invited to the party.
You want to go big? Do it up. Don't want any fiesta? That's good too because a birthday party is about the birthday child. Now I'm not promoting exclusivity but I do have 8 reasons why your kid might not get an invite, and none of them should be taken personally.

Any Lizzo fans here? Her newest single sums up where I am in my entrepreneurship journey. I've been fielding a lot of questions about my recent career change and how I got started down the path of opening a brick-and-mortar retail business. It might appear from the outside to happen overnight but in my mind, I'm singing with Lizzo. Because it's about damn time.
This journey started in January of 2021 and now I am here, 16 months later putting the finishing touches on a million details so I can open doors and start making sales.
I can point to a few key steps I took that really allowed my business plan to come together. Join me as I dive into three elements I think are universal check box items for starting a business: research, funding, and connections.

Raise your hand if, like me, you are a bit of a skeptic by nature.
I've put in a lot of time along my personal and professional development journey including books, podcasts, and online courses. Absorbing all the info but not always believing in the practical use or application of some of the teachings. I avoid the "woo" as much as possible.
But...over the last two weeks, I've really started to notice how much higher my vibration has become and how many good things that type of energy truly attracts. Energy doesn't mean happy, smiling faces like I once thought. It's a whole thing that I had to feel to believe.
The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon helped me finally recognize that I've become a more energetic match for the work and life I'm creating. And why it really does matter.

Have you ever been the mom who forgot to have their child wear PJs on the class pajama day? I think (I hope) that we have all been there and been scolded by our children for making them feel left out. #momfail
As the mom, I receive all of the emails and information from the classrooms. The dress-up days, the supply needs, the field trips, and more. It's a lot to manage for one child and even crazier with multiple kids' schedules to sort.
When schools leave dads out of the communications or opportunities to engage with the kids, it makes moms feel an extreme amount of pressure and dads feel uninvited. I want my husband to be in the loop so he can share the load. And even more, my girls want their dad to participate in the fun things happening at school.
It is highly likely a dad or any other involved caretaker may do things differently than a mom. But different isn't bad, it's just different. I'm advocating for no "mom things" and "dad things" in the classroom, just things for involved and supportive caregivers.

What is a pop-up shop and why should you consider creating one as a part of your marketing strategy?
A pop-up shop is a mobile or limited edition version of a storefront. And it operates in the reverse of a traditional marketing strategy because the intention of a mobile sales display is to bring your products and services to the people.
I consider pop-up shops to be an excellent method of community engagement. Think farmers markets, trade shows, festivals, and more. In this episode, I talk briefly about what a pop-up shop is, how to create one for your business, and the ways to leverage them to grow your bottom line.

This episode is your permission slip. The encouragement you need to get over it, and just take the trip. Enjoy some time alone time.
Do it. Why? I'm fresh off a quick 24-hour whirlwind trip to a family event and I felt called to share this message before I even made it home. in fact, I recorded it in the car on the way from the airport to my house. Because I felt so energized from just a small amount of time with family as myself. Without kids.
The lines between who we are as individuals and who we are as moms are often blurred. Spending time with my parents and brother, without my children there, was energizing and something I don't make happen often enough. It's time to make the opportunity happen for yourself, sooner rather than later.

In order to build a pipeline of potential customers and clients, it's necessary to have a method to collect their personal information. Followers on social media are not the same as a contact list of names, email addresses, and phone numbers of people who are interested in your products or services.
You do not own your social media followers. What you do own is data you collect yourself directly from the people who are interested in what you have to offer.
In this episode, I share three low-tech and grassroots ways to collect information in order to start your contact list. Get inspired to try one or all three.

This episode of the Motherhood Merged Podcast is focused on the struggles and feelings of overwhelm that come with motherhood.
Since March of 2019 I have been on a journey to build an authentic and judgement-free community for women, specifically mothers. At some point in my efforts, one thought came to me and has continued to bubble up in conversations among mothers at all ages and stages of their journey.
It's this idea that motherhood is really hard. But many of us have this innate skill or have been conditioned to make it look easy. So the question I started asking myself is what would motherhood look like if it were easy.
This conversation dives deep into the pressures moms face, how you might be unintentionally suffering, and why it's important to explore this idea of letting it be easy. Its a little bit of tough loved mixed with the support you need to know you aren't alone if you set your parenting expectations for yourself at a high level.
Part 2 of this series on letting things be easy will be featured in episode 10.

One trait that I find all strong females I admire have in common is that they trust themselves. In any circumstance or situation, they trust they are doing their best. Everything is intentional.
Self-awareness is a true skill. But how does one develop an increased sense of self? Self-awareness isn’t just about finding weaknesses or flaws to fix. Its not a solution. It's just a step in the process to trust your intrinsic motivations and habits.
In this episode, I dive into six different professional and personal development tools you can use to increase your self-awareness. I share my three favorite assessment tools for business settings and my three favorite assessment tools for personal relationships.
Each assessment provides different insights but often they have similarities or logically fit together. Strengths in a corporate setting don’t always serve as well in personal relationships and vice versa.

In this episode, I take a deep dive into the idea of using storytelling as a marketing strategy. The story of any business is the foundation that everything else is built upon. Your story explains your why, your mission, and builds the human connection necessary for the sale of any good or service.
When you start peeling back the curtain to share more of yourself, you cast a wider net and open up to the possibilities of connecting with more people. People who want to learn more and buy what you have to offer.
This conversation is your invitation to really see the value in sharing the story behind your business. It's your permission to abandon the three lies women in business often tell themselves that prevent the best stories from being told. It's a friendly reminder that you have everything you need in your knowledge and experience to engage through a story.

One of the key reasons why I created my brand solutions and marketing business is to help business owners remove the feelings of overwhelm that often comes with creating a profitable marketing strategy. Today's episode touched on the surface of what marketing is and what it does for your business but there is so much more to discover. It doesn't have to be overwhelming, I promise!

Do you consider yourself an industry leader or expert?
I didn't always understand that I am, in fact, an expert. There was a time when I would have never labeled myself as an industry leader or expert. It felt too self-absorbed or like too much ego to proclaim myself in that way. I also realized that I wasn't confident in my methods or processes.
With time, I've become confident in my message because I always share about something I truly am an expert on: my way. ⠀
I'm the only one qualified to talk about me. To share my experiences and my unique ways of navigating this journey I am on which includes life as a working professional and mother.
In this episode, I share the three criteria you can use to ensure that you have earned the title of an industry leader or expert.
Your homework for this episode: write the words I AM AN EXPERT on a piece of paper and stick it somewhere you will see every single day. Take a picture of your note to yourself and share it with me on Instagram. I will remind you to believe it every day because you have earned it.
