SABOTACHI, the new band from Duncan Alex.
In the Worlds before SABOTACHI, primal chaos reigned. Heaven sought order. Magically upon a rock old as Creation, there was spawned an egg. Inside it, playing arpeggios on a miniature stratocaster was the newborn rock child Ian Davey. He did much wandering, water-walking, and doodling on the instrument. Then, many, many, many years later, there flew from Mountains of the Cradle, a sole raven, bearing a tiny funky monkey. Upon reaching the foothills, the bird relinquished upon the fair land this infant, named Duncan Alex, who was at the time busy listening to radio recordings on a miniature Aiwa walkman. The nature of this monkey was irrepressible! And since Tathagata Buddha, the Father Buddha, said, “With our thoughts we make the world”, when a kindly priest brought together our two heroes for a common interest, their thoughts combined with the elemental forces of musical magic, created a new band. This band was like no other, and there would never be anything like it again. They had created SABOTACHI.

“You have the ear of the nation You seem to know what we need” “I’m hearing rainbows and ponies” “I like the hope that you breed”
“You’re gonna give me just what I want” “You’re gonna give us just what we need” “You switch disaster to fable So good at turning the table”
Lies lies lies are sleek The truth shall set you free But this ain’t what you speak
“You tell me just what you need to” “I wish that I was your friend” “Your words speak louder than actions” “Huh?”
“I’m buying what you are selling ‘Cos you’ve got it all figured out” “Sometimes I wish you were telling me What your secret’s about”
“You say the things that I like” “You’ve got the answers I want”
Lies lies lies are sweet The truth shall set you free But this ain’t what you speak
Lies lies lies are sweet The truth shall set you free But this ain’t what you speak
“You will not fool me” “You will not fool me”
Why don’t you speak it like you feel it? Your lies are stealing our time away
I think you know the deal, I feel you get me We both know something we could do to seal it…
Please don't pretend you don't know what I'm going through No don't pretend you don't see that I'm seeing through you
So why don't you break the pact, betray? Just face the facts: you gotta stay You gotta stay You gotta stay Please release yourself Stay! Please release yourself With yourself It’s you, and you are fooling you
Why don’t you speak it like you feel it Your lives are stealing our time away
I think you know the deal, I feel you get me We both know something we could do to seal it We can’t be denied
Please don't pretend you don't know what I'm going through No don't pretend you don't see that I'm seeing through you We can’t be denied You choose: tonight, forever? Tonight? Stay with me tonight Please release yourself

when it's all over will we be the same when it's all over will we see change can we be better, realigned paradigm look behind the curtain
will we do all the things that we used to do to things and the creatures and the planet should it feel like they've had it?
as we don cover and we peer through the gap and we put our lives on hold, on pause we got sent to our rooms to think about what we done
will we do all the things that we used to do to things and the creatures and the planet should it feel like they've had it?
and we do not believe in the air that we breath while they're risking their everything

If you know the sound You can make a start Feel it deep inside Feel it in your heart
Cos when the sky has died And the ocean's bled Maybe then we'll know All the things we did
And we may feel this earth-shaking pain Buzzing through our bones and stinging our eyes Then we may feel her earth-breaking pain Bitter in our mouths like all our denials
Can you taste it? Can you live it? Can you feel what she feels?
You're at the tipping point Look in the abyss (feel it in your heart) But there is no return now You're thinking - what we miss? (we're fried)
Cassandra cried, denied 'til the end She tried in her kingdom's defence On science we now can depend But our band will play 'til the end
Can you feel it? Can you taste it?
If you know the sound You can make a start Feel it deep inside Feel it in your heart
Keep it in my face 'Til the wires are fried Why don't you give it some space To let the rhythm satisfy
Climate change denier satisfied? Let the rhythm satisfy

In 2017 I released "Facebook", a song expressing just some of many worries about Facebook and some reactions to its part in the US election.
In 2018 we saw the dark underbelly of Facebook being well and truly poked ;)
In 2019 not much has changed except lip-service. And now with their new proposed fake (i.e. not decentralised) crypto Libra with big £ on board it just comes across as a rather large money/power grab.
But enough doom and gloom. After all it's summer and it's a scorcher! Bring out the beach towels with the Facebook Carnival remix!
Facebook Carnival remix is yours to keep for 1 Stellar Lumen XLM: https://tinyurl.com/yc3lpmc4
I'll even give you 50 free XLM to spend - just use this code IHTBIWH50

don’t say a word like your lips are sentries you won’t make a sound cos your lungs will be empty
don’t think a thought cos we can see you have plenty and you paid for the view there’s no time for repenting
don’t look away cos we have a reminder your life to us is as a fly to the spider and we need you to see just what we do with insiders so look to the sky ‘cos the stars cannot hide us
go to sleep now, don’t you use your mind for in your mind, are the answers mm, we don’t want you to find
say it’s absurd, just once out of twenty to keep yourself sane, from all that is empty
you don’t feel the gap don’t see the trap but you fill it with empty
go to sleep now stop, take a nap need you to see stop, take a nap

i wish i may i wish i might have the wish i wish tonight it is the dusk, it'll soon be night darker than the iris of your eye
slip into the hourglass a thousand years, the time will pass all we know a grain of sand and all we love is suffered by our own hands
all we love is smothered by our own hand
a billion mouths a billion pains drought and rains are all our banes and we shall pray and we shall fight but all we know is gone before the light
now i can get up on my high horse but you wouldn't listen to me cos i do the same thing that you do i live and i eat and i breath
but this ain't the way we can make it this ain't the way that we relieve and this earth was here long long before us and she ain't gonna cry when we leave
The Bond-themed 'Devil May Care' features Duncan Alex on vocals and Ian Davey on guitar.

Lyrics: No need to step outside Don't know how to feel The thrill was in your mind They told you this ain't real Come in make yourself and home Condense trickle down your throat
Chorus You know if you once stood strong virtually And now you're looking like a frail form Wandering in the sand through a desert dream Skeletal arms hung helpless by your side
Then one day it all became dirty Once was sanitised I can't remember what it was like Living in real life
Chorus And all of us fell for all the lies Got washed away before our eyes When real life was so hard to find With the world condense down a telephone line Reinvented to your favourite style They know what's always on your mind You feel pain only by design And now it's not so hard to find...
Chorus
Taken from my second album 'Early Days', this is a dark, edgy and unnerving instrumental, building up in tension, climaxing and ultimately offering a gentle release. Just what you always wanted.
On a more serious note, it would be ideally suited to your next horror or dark thriller film.
It has featured in this excellent Czech republic Zombie movie ' Alone': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQRKorehdNc
It also features in a yet to be released short film 'Jimmy's List'.

"Authentic & heartfelt" - Apple FM, a Lemonrock.com mp3 of the week, and now due to feature on a new Duncan Alex album to be released in 2013.
