We can be filled with plenty of information from scripture and know many facts about God without actually knowing God or seeing our lives transformed by the Holy Spirit. I lived like this for years. This is a testimony of giving the power over to the Holy Spirit to change my heart and transform my life to be more like Christ.
The idea of the Fivefold ministry comes from Ephesians 4:11. What is it? What are the different schools of thought about its function in the church today? Are apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers supposed to be offices held my few or are they ministry gifts the entire body should have?
Don't confuse revivalism, man-created emotional manipulation, with true revival, the Holy Spirit bringing a renewed hunger for God. Revivalism started in the 1800's and continues to this day in many churches. Yes, revivalism can create converts, but do those converts become true disciples?
