"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."
Today I want to offer you the opportunity to explore having a perspective shift towards your problems.
It’s inevitable that we’ll all have problems but the way we categorise, prioritise and then respond to them makes a huge difference in living an extraordinary life.
We can’t escape problems but we can handle them much better when we look at them through a different lens and give ourselves the opportunity to improve the quality of our life in the process.

Success has its value determined by the individual but we so rarely question what success actually means to us, that we end up running on life’s treadmill never being able to pull the stop ring.
Success isn’t a dirty word. It’s actually the expression of your existence in this life. We’re all born for a purpose. We may not know what that purpose is but we know we’re called to certain things and we usually fulfil them. From the person who sweeps the road immaculately to the investment banker who makes people richer, we all have a part to play in the current world we live in.
But to thrive is to know what success means to us individually.

Today I want us to change the way we see ourselves and our job titles. We are not what we do. You cannot be defined by the job you’re doing. You are soooo much more than that and in this episode, I want to show you how to let go of the job title as your identity and instead move towards the true definition of who you are so that you can step into the most authentic version of yourself and achieve the life you so deserve to be living, your extraordinary life.

Why do we still seek external validation when we now know better? Is status the only way to be recognised as being great at our jobs, our businesses? What proof is satisfactory to on-lookers and at what point are we enough?
In this episode, I dive into the concept of status in society and explore how we can navigate it while still achieving personal success.
And what are we chasing anyway? Do we want status so that we can be externally valued or do we want to do good work and be valued by ourselves for knowing we’re doing the right thing?
So much to explore and I’d love to hear your thoughts on the topic too, so get in touch wherever you see me and let me know what you think about status and how it affects you.

What could you do to help yourself move from stagnation to growth? Is there something you’ve been meaning to get back into or want to try for the first time? Perhaps it’s a language, painting, singing, dancing, a sport, cooking or a brand new skill that you’d love to know more about. Flesh out some ideas after listening to this episode to build a list that you can try things from. Remember you’re simply trying some new things, you don’t have to commit to anything. The point is to discover something that you connect with and that will bring you some much needed positive momentum by way of achievement gratification. Use the minute of meditation to freely imagine some of the things you could do.

The most common manifesting mistake I see in with clients in my practice is that they focus too much on “how” which is why the manifestation technique doesn't work. As high-achievers, it’s normal for us to want to figure out how to do something but it won’t help if you’re trying to manifest something. In today’s video, I’m going to help you to be a 'master manifestor' by detaching from the outcome, cultivating positive thinking, spotting your own red flags and I’m going to share a secret tool that I give to my clients to help them level-up their manifesting magic! If you apply these few tips, I'm pretty sure your manifestation technique will start working again.

In today’s episode, I’m talking about how streaming tv shows can actually help to open the heart and mind.
We ridicule watching shows but this is our reality. I still of course encourage connection and engagement but if we are to watch tv, how about doing it with some intention? I’m not talking about documentaries but actually watching some incredible shows that offer some perspective into the way we are living our lives.
I’ve picked 3 shows that inspire me personally and they are also the shows that I’ll recommend to my clients as a starting point to help them be more open in heart and mind.
When we are willing to be more open, we get to experience life on a whole new level. That’s what watching these shows can do for you, if you’re willing to do things a little differently.
I’d love to know if you’ve watched anything in your life that has had a profound affect on you too.

I’m back. That was a much longer break than I had planned for the show but it was definitely needed. To my loyal listeners, thank you for still being here and bearing with me. For new listeners, welcome, this show is about being real and supporting each other in this thing called life.
I’m starting the new season with a topic that’s resonated with me these past few months and one that I think more of us should tap into for better wellbeing and most importantly for taking our experience of life to the next level.
So why should you follow your soul’s bliss? Because too many of us follow the path that everyone else expects us to follow. That may work for some people but for many, at some point in life, they realise that what they’re doing doesn’t actually equate to the happiness and fulfilment they thought it would bring.
We know this story, don’t we? For those of you who have been here for a while, you’ll know about the expectations of others and why it’s so important for us to follow the call of going against the status quo but how can we do it without risking everything that keeps us safe and secure?
Well that’s what I’m delving into in today’s episode. I’ll be sharing why it’s so important to follow your soul’s bliss and how you can do it without compromising other important areas of your life.

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style - Maya Angelou
Since 2020 and the pandemic, I’ve been surviving. You probably have to. But I know in my heart, I’m someone who needs to thrive.
When I look back on this year, whilst I haven't achieved all the results I wanted, I have achieved my goals. In today’s show, I’m going to discuss the difference between the two as it’s a very key difference and the ultimate difference between failure and quitting.

This one isn't for the faint-hearted. It's bold and unapologetically direct.
Coming up to the end of 2022. What an intense couple of years we’ve had. How has it been for you? Are you stronger or weaker? Are you more resilient? Have your ambitions changed? Have your values changed? What will you do in 2023?
If you want your life to be different, you have to build resilience. You have to build self-belief. You have to remain focussed on your mission and most importantly, you have to be accountable. Without any of these, you will become a victim to the turmoil of our current world.
It starts with you making the choice to do it differently. It starts with you committing to yourself for the greater good.

Do you ever go on social media and get bored? Seeing the same old same old from influencers, brands and celebrities? Do you endlessly scroll reels and TikToks, come out of the app and find yourself back in again within minutes?
That’s the dopamine effect.
But what if what you’re consuming on social media is actually making you feel worse about yourself and your problems - your mental health and wellbeing?
In today’s episode, I’m having a frank conversation with Alex Partridge who is one of the pioneers of social media content the way we know it today. At age 21 in 2010, while a student at Oxford Brookes University, he founded UNILAD, one of the most popular social news and entertainment Internet companies in the world with an astonishing following of 50 million people around the globe. In 2012, Alex founded LADBible which would also grow to become a social media juggernaut.
Whilst the episode shares our opinions, there’s some food thought that I hope will enable you to decipher which accounts and behaviours are to your benefit when you’re scrolling on social media.

In this episode I'm sharing a powerful tool that I use with my clients called what makes a good, great, amazing day? This tool is a brilliant way to begin a self-development journey especially if you find yourself lacking time to implement other things.
Edward M. Hallowell, is an expert in attention deficit disorder (ADD) and he likens the experience of busyness to that of people suffering from ADD.
Being busy, rather than focused on the big stuff, is more like ADD rather than being the super-effective person we aspire to be.

Creating meaningful connections starts with creating a meaningful life.
Whenever there's a problem, we tend to look outside of ourselves before looking inward but what we truly want is lying deep within us.
If you know what a meaningful life looks like and you begin to live it, you will naturally seek the meaningful connections to enhance your life.
Expecting others to give you what you need will almost always end in failure.
So be brave, go within, who are you? What do you bring to the table? What are you curious about?

In today’s episode I’m exploring the 12 stages of burnout and what you can do to help yourself if you resonate with any of them. I’ve chosen this topic because the prevention of burnout is at the core of what I do so even though I’ve already covered burnout in this podcast, I wanted to create this particular burnout episode in the style of the new show. Burnout can be a self-perpetuating cycle if we don’t stop and reevaluate. This should be a show you can come back to time and time again, when you’re not feeling your best.
This episode is going to be a little bit different to what you’re used to. If you listened to episode 111, you’ll have heard me talk about a massive level-up that I went through this year. Well, that level-up has inspired me to change the name of the podcast and also to re-work the format a little. Each episode will still deliver tips and support but we’re taking it to the next level.
My aim is to help you to be brilliant at what you do and how you live. You are the change-maker the world needs. My hope is that this podcast, and my work, will support you to achieve your ambitions with impact, purpose and fulfilment.
I’ve really enjoyed putting this together for you. Thank you for your continued support and for listening.

The third element of Space Time Intention method is Intention.
Everything starts with intention but we often storm ahead with what we’re doing without knowing why we’re doing it. Our intention needs to be the starting point.
What does intention even mean? It’s basically a promise, a vow you’re making to yourself which is formed by the heart and the mind, almost like a solemn vow.
You can set a goal for something but your intention is what will guide you to that goal.
In this episode, we’re going to explore what intention is and how you can start to cultivate it in order to create a more fulfilling life for yourself.
Website
This episode, we’re moving on to the Time element of my Space Time Intention method. We all want more time but we aren’t always willing to do what it takes to get it. In order to create more time, you have to create the space to identify how your time is being spent and what boundaries you need to put in place to achieve your goal of having more time.
The thing is, most people struggle with changing their perspective and the way they’ve done things. So if you’ve always had an open diary that you allow to be filled by other people both at work and in your personal life, putting in a time block for meetings will be difficult. You think that you need to be available for every single meeting or birthday party that comes your way but in actual fact, in order to protect your time, you need to take back control of it.
The key to creating more time is to re-work how you currently spend your time so that’s what we’ll cover in this episode along with tips to help you get there.
Website
In the last episode I started to talk to you about a method I’ve coined called Space Time Intention. It’s something I’ve been doing with my clients over the years but never really put it into a term as such.
Most of us want more time. We struggle to find time in our days and the years go by with the same struggle of finding time. I see this a lot in my practice. From clients who say they can only do evening sessions through to those that say they can’t wake up earlier, the time they need exists. They just need to look at time differently to the way they have been.
We all use time in a way that makes us feel as though we’re being efficient and productive. We also tend to fill time constantly and forget that there are moments in the time we schedule that we can use to make us happy.
But in order to do this, we first need to create space. Space to look at our lives as a whole. Space to define what it is we want from our lives. Space to step back and look at where we can create time. In this episode, I’m going to delve deeper into the Space element of my Space Time Intention method and give you some tips so that you can do it for yourself.

To make the most of your life, I want to share with you a tool I use in my practice called the Space Time Intention method. Imagine the three words as a triangle, space links to time which links to intention which links to space etc etc
The method takes from Ayurveda and Yoga principles too, which makes it all the more interesting - especially for me because I coined the method before I came across a Chopra article supporting it. Love how these things can happen.
Today’s show is one from the heart. I’m hearing so many similar challenges that people are facing in their day to day lives, that I hope you can get some insight that will help you to make the most of your life too.

My guest today is Momtaz Begum Hossain who is an amazing Colour therapist.
Momtaz and I met in my previous life when I was doing the PR for Hawaii and invited her to a press trip of a lifetime! We had the most incredible time on 3 of the Hawaiian islands, eating, drinking, surfing, swimming with manta rays and sea turtles, and visiting some of the most enchanting places on earth. When you share experiences like these, it always stays with you and I’m so beyond excited to see her journey in colour develop to where she is today.
In this episode, we’re talking about the benefits of colour on your mood, wellbeing and how it can help you enhance your life.
Momtaz is one of the most vibrant people you’ll ever meet! Colour is her superpower and she's using it in the fight against dreariness, brightening up the lives of others, by inspiring them with the wellbeing benefits of colour therapy. It's been a long couple of years and sometimes it feels as though we take one step forward, only to take million steps back.
Feeling fed up right now is common and completely normal. You are not alone.
A helpful way to move from the negative feelings associated with being fed up is to focus on increasing positivity.
In this episode, I'm sharing some tips that can help you change negative thoughts and feelings into more positive ones.
We talk about growth a lot in personal development but what does it actually look like in action? Today’s guest is the incredible creative entrepreneur Kalpesh Patel (or KP as he’s so affectionately known) who is the owner of the luxury Asian Wealth Magazine and the soon to be iconic Foundxrs Club.
KP is someone who I instantly connected with. He’s a no muss no fuss kinda guy, full of warmth and accessibility that can sometimes be so lost with successful entrepreneurs of today.
He has such a calming, knowledgeable, inspiring and infectious personality - lots of energy and passion for this thing called life.
In this episode we’re exploring growth in business, growth within yourself and what makes a truly successful human being which, according to KP is “the ability to look after oneself”
I really enjoyed this conversation, you’ll hear so many value-driven ideas and talking points that we both hope will add value to your day today too.

What is a change-maker?
A change-maker is someone who is taking creative action to solve a social problem. A change-maker’s efforts may or may not succeed, but they are motivated by a genuine and heartfelt desire to make the world a better place even if it is on a very personal scale
A change-maker is creative. It takes courage to see and do things differently from the status quo.
Change-makers are inquisitive, open minded, and resourceful. Even when good things are happening within the status quo, they are not satisfied with the status quo because they have a vision of how to make things better.
In this episode we'll explore the tangible and not-so tangible tools that you can use to help create an extraordinary life.

I really hope you love the new music - I wanted to change it up as this season as I’m coming with a levelled up vibe! So what’s the new season all about? Well, the last episode gave you a little insight and today I’m going to delve into it a little more.
Season 3 is all about creating your own extraordinary life. But what does this mean? How can you build an extraordinary life?
Living an extraordinary life is subjective. It’s going to be down to what’s important to you and therefore what qualifies as extraordinary to you. You don’t have to be a business owner, you don’t have to be rich. It can be anything you want it to be but I really want us to focus on the words that we use to describe our lives. So I’ll be using grand words to make us think in grand terms about the way we live and what we do in this world.
Let’s all level up together this season and create the most epic extraordinary lives for ourselves!
And my darling listener, if you love the Self Care 101 podcast, please can you review it on Apple or Spotify? It really helps the show get discovered by other people and quite honestly it makes me feel good to know that the show helps you.

I’m back! I know I know, it’s been a hot minute since I released an episode and all I can tell you is that I’ve been spending a lot of that down time working on levelling up for you!
Although the pandemic gave us an opportunity to reflect, I don’t feel like I actually got a chance to do it properly until 2022 began. So whilst I’ve been away, I have been working hard on gaining new skills, learning new techniques, connecting with new people and coming back to my purpose and intentions for the show.
I feel like the show grows as I grow so I hope you feel this too and that we’re growing together.
Today's I'm covering some things I learned in my hiatus which may help you with your current goals too.
Thank you so much for your patience!
I often wonder what goes on inside people’s minds. Then I turn to my human behaviour and human psychology textbooks to get some answers. Sometimes, I’ll ask my coach about it. You see, we all have innate behaviours that shape the way we live our lives.
We start our lives with big dreams (if you were born in the 80’s or 90’s) then you might have dreamt about becoming a cowboy or a scientist, or a teacher or an astronaut. We had big dreams because we didn’t know any different. We were encouraged to dream big. And then, once we started to sit for exams, we had to start limiting our dreams. We needed to decide what we wanted to do with our lives (more specifically, our careers) by the time we were 14. We hadn’t even lived life. We hadn’t tried on the cowboy boots yet but we had to decide.
And decide we did. Then we live our lives according to what we’re supposed to do rather than what we want to do. This applies to our careers, our health, our relationships. We stop having fun, instead we think fun is a night out, overspending and getting drunk. We think fun and joy and happiness comes from holidays, handbags, trainers and gadgets.
Only to get into our late 20’s to mid 30’s to think, what the hell am I doing with my life?
If you find yourself at this crossroads too, this episode is for you. You are your superpower. You have everything within you to do and be what you want. And.. I’ll show you how.

When we’re young and at school, we have lots of discipline around us. You could say that we have many rules in our lives. But when we’ve finished studying, there’s this period of time where we get to do whatever we want and most of us do.
Then we coast through our 20’s doing all these things we want to do but with no real discipline. Enter our 30’s and everything seems just that little bit harder. Our dreams and goals are bigger but we’re unable to do the work involved to get us to where we want to go.
This is where discipline comes into play. It’s the ultimate game-changer and it’s not easy. You are literally changing your life when you commit to discipline.
In today’s show, I’m going to explore what discipline is and how you can create more of it in your life so that you can change your life towards the life you want to be living.

Why are people unkind? Where do you think it comes from? Perhaps your life experiences make you unkind? Perhaps what you consume in your life makes you unkind? Why do we have to brag about being kind?
There have been two key words in my life this year, one is resilience and the other is kindness. I’ve been building resilience in myself and my clients and I’ve been choosing kindness over anything else. Kindness towards me first (cos I’ve been mentally beating myself up for most of my life) and kindness to others, in everything I do. Even if I’m not really talking to certain people as much as I was, it’s because I’m choosing kindness towards myself and when I’m ready, I’ll share with them again.
But this kindness conversation has really been getting to me. I see so much both online and in real life that pisses me off and today I want to sound off a bit and also offer you some incredible benefits and tips of choosing kindness - especially when it feels impossible to do.

Do you think people are born with a winning mindset? Some probably are. Many of us actually could have had a winning mindset from day 1 but life happened, our parents happened, our teachers happened and then the big bad world happened and we lost our way.
We went from living with extraordinary visions of our lives to working and paying the bills and buying an endless amount of ‘stuff’ to try and make ourselves happy.
But what if we could be winning right now, without changing anything? What if we could choose to live an extraordinary life with everything we want but actually be fulfilled and content?
In this episode, I’m going to cover some of the key attributes of creating a winning mindset. You probably know most of them but are you actually practicing them consistently? If you are, then you have a winning mindset and you are probably a very happy person. If you’re not, then this show offers simple (always simple) ways that you can create a winning mindset starting today.

Today’s show is a special treat. We’re going to be learning about The importance of wellbeing in leadership with an incredible guest, Richard Twynam.
Richard is a Director level leader. He encompasses all the aspects of great leadership effortlessly and this was probably why I was drawn to him when we met in another podcast. I thrive being around great people who choose to do great things.
Richard’s been the Director for Tui Travel, MD for Virgin and MD for Royal Caribbean to name just a few of the brilliant positions he’s held.
Core to his great leadership style is the importance of wellbeing. In this show, he will share some of his non-negotiables when you’re climbing the ladder of success and also his 5 pillars of wellbeing that have been a game changer in both his personal life and the way he leads in his professional life.
Richard’s great and I hope you’ll find some fab insights and advice from an ambitious, successful and very well informed leader.

If you’ve been into self-development for a while, you’re probably familiar with the way we talk to ourselves but it’s actually incredibly amazing, how much the language we use actually affects us.
It’s easy to use common words that seem harmless when we’re working towards something. Take this example: “I have to apply for at least 10 jobs a week” - on the face of it, the line is clear, is action oriented and possibly motivating. But the danger word here is “have” as in “have to.” Whilst in literal terms, you may have to apply to many jobs in order to get a new one, putting the word have to makes it a demand which sits differently inside our minds. A better way of saying this would be “I will apply to 10 jobs each week.” This is much more assertive, it’s a clear goal and it’s motivating.
It’s important to pay attention to the language we use so that we’re not getting in our way when it comes to our goals. With only a couple of weeks left until the year end, you might be thinking about what you’ve achieved this year and possibly what you could achieve or you might just right off December because of the festivities. But there’s still time and opportunity to get closer to what you want. And the language you use will play an important role here.

How do you value yourself? Do you value yourself? What does valuing yourself even mean?
I really don't make life easy for myself. I could work with people who want to set up business, want to know about marketing or pr, or sell products. But no, I choose to work with people who want to improve themselves through personal development - this is very difficult! This obviously has a knock on effect on the other things in life but it’s an essential piece of the puzzle. Problem is, my potential clients rarely see this.
I can’t tell you how many free coaching calls I’ve had with prospective clients, who know how much it is to work with me, have done their research and at the end of the call, don’t commit to the process.
There are a few factors as to why:
That's not a mistake, I’ve said that twice on purpose. Because if you don’t value yourself, you’re less likely to make the changes you say you want.
This is a real talk show, so get ready to learn some truths and also ways to help you build value in yourself. It can really make a massive difference to the way you live your life.

What if you’ve been doing all those things but you’re still not happy or fulfilled? What then? What’s missing? Are you ungrateful? Are you not living YOUR best life?
Today I’m going to explore these questions and more, in detail. Offering you the perspective of what if it could be different?

Today’s show is a brilliant one. We’ve all had some sort of battle with our weight and there are sooooo many ways to apparently lose and manage our health goals but what’s the secret to fat loss?
It’s the unsexy, highly revered in the medical industry, 5000 year old formula… wait for it… eat less than you move. Literally, eat less than you exert.
In this episode, I talk with straight-talking health coach Sharan from Nutrition and You who helps women ditch the dieters mindset and focus on embracing their mind body and soul.
This is all achieved in as little as 90 days with 1:1 coaching.
Sharan dispels the dieter’s mindset and she provides some awesome tips to navigate the last few months of the year so that you can start achieving your weight goals - especially if you’re feeling like it’s your last chance. There are always small steps you can take, so why not?

Unleashing your potential is about doing more with your life than just working, paying the bills, a holiday here and there and then dying. There’s so much more that we can be doing that not only makes us feel great about our lives but also contributes to the lives of others. We tend to think in terms of our bubble only, thinking that we don’t have time or that we’re not good enough to contribute to society but if we don’t contribute, we will end up hating our lives and die of boredom. So let’s not do that.
I want to be clear here that I’m not talking about quitting your 9-5. This is about doing more than just working. I know work takes up most of our time and lives but there is time and space available for more fulfilling pursuits.

At some point, we've all felt when life is just too much so in this episode, I'm sharing a vulnerable and very honest account of going through a low point.
This wasn't a scripted or planned show and I'm not even sure what the message is but if it's relatable, if it resonates, please let me know.
The biggest message is probably not to quit. Just keep going because you have greatness to share in this world and the world will miss it if you don't.
So don't succumb to when life is just too much. Take stock, reflect, be compassionate, take a break but just don't quit.

We all wear clothes and shoes, many of us also get our hair done and wear makeup but did you know that you can use the energy of fashion to align with your manifestations?
When you are manifesting (which is a constant activity, it’s not a wish) you need to align your actions towards that goal. So, you might decide that you’re going to use affirmations everyday to affirm what you want. Or you might tell everybody who will listen about your goals. However, there are many other ways to align and how you dress is a really important one. Colours play a big factor here and colour therapy can attest to this. You know how it feels when you wear something that just pops! Everyone notices, you feel amazing and your vibe is high. And that’s what manifestation is all about, high vibes.
So in this show, Fashion stylist to the stars, Donna McCulloch is going to share how she fuses energy into her work with every one of her clients. She’ll also do a mini virtual makeover for me so you can experience her gifts in action. We’ll be addressing how judgement can be harmful and how to channel kindness when you see a woman looking fire, when it’s so ingrained in us, not to do it.

In this episode, I talk about Badges of honour that you’ll find people using - almost as a way to say, I’m woke! Don’t even get me started on woke people. What I’m talking about is saying that you’re something as if it’s so self-aware of you but then you’re either not turning it into a superpower or you don’t realise that there’s something not quite right about what you’re saying.
I’m going to talk about a couple of examples that people tend to use as badges of honour and I’m going to flip it so that it becomes something helpful and powerful instead.
I’ve picked a few that really piss me off (I find when something pisses me off, I can help better) so they are:

So you read the title right, this is a very special episode co-hosted with my 5 yr old Mykah. He listens to the show (usually when I’m checking the editing in the car) and obviously loves the sound of my voice!
I was inspired to do this episode because he’s going through some growing stuff at the moment and he understands so much that I wanted to get his perspective on what’s going on with him.
My aim for this episode is to see if we can understand each other better in a bid to navigate his big feelings in a helpful way.
For those of you listening with kids, you could use the questions I ask him with your own kids to open up a dialogue with them about their feelings - in the hope of normalising open communication with each other and showing them that you are the ultimate safe space for them. This will also help them understand compassion and trust.
For those of you without kids, I hope the show inspires more self-awareness of your own big feelings and how you channel them in your day to day. I believe in keeping things simple so hopefully, Mykah’s answers will be simple and easy enough for you to do too.

Do you think that you can survive a life-threatening disease just by adjusting your mindset? I know this is controversial but babe, there’s sooooo much out there now attesting to holistic therapy beating disease and obviously, I am here for it all! I’m going to preach it and now I’m discovering more sisters who are living breathing and preaching it too - so I am pumped.
Donia Youssef is an award-winning author of adult & children’s books, she’s written a number of children’s books to help kids understand cancer including “the monster in mummy”, she’s a fierce campaigner for mental health and uses her social platforms to give others a voice to share their stories plus she’s working on an incredible project that will provide care and support to those facing or overcoming cancer.
In this episode, Donia kindly shares her cancer journey, her strength, how she found the courage to get through the most traumatic times in her life and that she attributes it all to her mindset.
It’s no secret that women have it tough and perhaps stronger women have it a little tougher because of the picture that they portray to everyone else. You know the one, that they’re always “fine.” Asking for help, getting support, being vulnerable and still carrying on with your day to day. It’s a lot and takes its toll especially if you don’t have the right community behind you.
Donia Youssef is a powerhouse and I’m so grateful to have met her. She’s definitely supposed to be in my life.
This was such a brilliant chat, I hope it inspires you as much as it did me.

Let’s talk about MONEY!
Is a £500k 3 bedroom house in London expensive? Is a £5k handbag from Chanel expensive? Is a £600 sideboard expensive (my life is all about furniture from now until everything that I’ve ordered arrives for the new place - so expect a lot of furniture analogies) or what about a £45k car, is that expensive? Is £3k expensive for a counsellor or coach who can help you change your life and show you how to be happy? Is £100k expensive to join a dating site that guarantees you your perfect partner? Is £18k expensive for a cesarean? What about getting your hair cut and coloured for £100, is that expensive? Or going through IVF treatment for £25k which may or may not result in a baby, is that expensive?
So many examples, but how can you define what is value vs. what is expensive?
There’s no secret here, it’s just based on your income and experiences where you happily spend money. But what I want to achieve from this show is to help you with your money mindset.

So it’s a ‘real-talk’ episode. I know the others are too but this one might hit a little harder because I know soooo many of us are feeling this way.
I’m talking about the pressures of achieving your life goals. You know, get your career to a certain point, make the millions in your business, find the perfect partner, settle down, have the kids or have the pets, the holidays, the memories, the retirement fund, the holiday home all by the time you’re [insert specific age goal here].
Now I’m not going to tell you that you can’t have it all - hell no, what kind of life coach would I be? But I am going to tell you that it might not happen the way you think it’s going to happen and that my friends is the biggest difference between those that do and those that don’t.
I am also going to dive into a few more truths that you need to know because I want you to have whatever your heart desires and I’ll whatever I can, to help you get there.

Today I’m excited to be talking about Luuurve! This one’s for the ladies who like men (although most bits will apply to everyone). We’re going to explore how you can get your man!
I’ve wanted to do more love topics for a while because I love, love. It’s my favourite topic to explore with clients (maybe I should be a love coach?) but I just love it.
When I was single, for the most part, I enjoyed it. But once I was approaching my late 20’s it started to grate on me. I felt extremely lonely. Now, we're a society that is perpetually lonely and believe me, getting a partner does not mean that the loneliness will subside. If anything, it just changes. But…. There is hope, there are things you can do to help you get your man and I’m here for all of it.
I want everyone to have love, everyone who wants love, absolutely deserves it but there are probably a few things that you could tweak to make things work better for you.
I hope you’ll find the show insightful and if anyone gets their man from applying the tips and tricks in this episode, please please let me know and I’ll celebrate with you!

Slightly different format today. I have a very special guest joining me to talk about being ghosted by friends.
We all go through it at some point and we might have even been the ones doing the ghosting but why do we do it? And how can we cultivate better relationships with our friends?
My guest today is Melody. She discovered me through the podcast and then came to a talk on Self-love I was hosting last year. We instantly hit it off and have stayed in touch since. I don’t tend to spend much time on social media but when I do, I like to look at stories and see how everyone is living their best life. I read a series of stories from Melody about this topic and just knew we needed to talk about it.
This show is like a coaching conversation where we both explore the what, why and how of navigating friendships and I really hope that you’ll enjoy it as if you were in the room with us.

In today’s show I’m talking about - creating space to have more success in your life.
We’re a people of doers. Always doing one thing and moving on to the next thing on auto-pilot. Even me. This week has been a major life and work admin week because I’m moving house. So not only have I got a busy life in general (school run, my work, seeing clients, all this lovely marketing stuff, socialising, keeping house, but I also added retail manager du jour into the mix as I’m selling lots of bits - I’m literally creating space this week and each day that I clear out more stuff, the lighter I’m feeling. I’m creating space for more life and more abundance (not just financial) but I want space for living my life because I’ve recently learned that I’ve been perpetually stressed, pretty much all of my life and I’m sure you’re no different.
From education, to defining a career, making money so that I can buy a house, a car, nice things, travel more. Getting a partner, improving my career, making more money, then marrying, kids - and the host of things they bring, striving for my business, my clients, my relationships, my health, my kids' inheritance. I’m 41 this year and I don’t think there has ever been a time where I have just chilled out and actually enjoyed my life. Always moving to the next thing and then next thing.
Not anymore. This was my biggest learning when I turned 40 and reflected. Lucky that it coincided with the pandemic because I honestly don’t think I would have deeply reflected the way I did without it. I’ve learned that I’ve been surviving on auto-pilot and it has to stop. I want to get to my death bed and say, “I lived a great life.”
And if you do too, I hope you’ll take the teachings from this show and apply it to your life now.

Why are we still waiting for some miracle to occur, a genie to appear or to win the lottery to really LIVE OUR LIVES?
Why are we still waiting for fairytales? Do we really need to wait for a partner to have the baby we so desperately want to have? How many more years will we give to a job we hate? When will we buy the house we want? What’s really stopping us from travelling the world? (apart from covid)
In this episode, going to help you take chances - in a considered way - so that you can move your life beyond surviving and into thriving.

In today’s episode, I talk about how you can change your life and ultimately the world from what you’ve experienced through the pandemic.
It’s a big topic so I may revisit this show again at a later date but for now, the most important thing to note is that change is possible.
If you’ve started back in the new normal and you can see that things haven’t changed much, then this is your opportunity to make a difference. I know we don’t have Leo Dicaprio pockets but… it’s not always about money. Sometimes it’s about standing up for yourself, for what you believe in, for what you want to see in the world.
At all other times, it’s about self awareness and how you can contribute to the change you want to see in the world. If we all do something, we’ll create a ripple effect and eventually, things will change. Because they always do. The only thing standing in your way is the courage to commit.

This week’s episode is all about cultural appropriation. The point of the show is to share some examples of what cultural appropriation is and how you can avoid it by embracing cultural teachings in a more mindful way, which makes you an ally rather than an enemy.
If you’ve been a listener of the show, you’ll remember in episode 1, way back in 2019 when the podcast launched, that I called out some BS of the wellness industry. Fast forward a year or so later and cultural appropriation is all the rage and very much a topic more people are aware of - but not enough.
With that said, I hope that this episode is enlightening to those who have no idea what I’m talking about and informative for those who are aware but might not be sure how to support the cause.

In this episode I explore how a lack of self-worth shows up in our lives.
I hosted a masterclass on this topic recently and I want to share some of the points with you here. The attendee feedback was awesome and many discovered a few revelations whilst I was presenting - which is always cool!
At the end of the day, if you know things aren't going well in your life, you keep repeating the same destructive cycles, only wishing for miracles to happen, then it's time to understand who you are and what you really want from life.
Once you do that, you can live your life aligned to those values, which is give you freedom and help you be happier.

In this episode I explore the connection between our mothers and our self-worth. Now this isn’t a mother-bashing show, this is to raise your self-awareness of what part your mother played in you feeling a lack of self-worth. It is to understand why they might have done what they did and how you can now cut the cord and change the story.
I know the connection between my mother and my self-worth and it has taken almost 9 years for me to be able to not react when she does or says anything that might make me regress into child ego-state. This work takes time and practice plus tons of awareness on your part but I promise - having done the work - you will feel so much more free, liberated and know who you are much better.

In today’s show, I’ll be exploring what it means to be your authentic self. If you’ve been in the self-development/ self-help space for a while, you’ll be familiar with the term ‘authentic self’ but what does it actually mean and how can you apply it to your life?
Before I started to go deeper within myself, the term authentic self really bothered me. It was as if all those social media posts were saying that I was fake and so I was resistant to it. So I wanted to break it down for you in my straight-stalking, simple language so that you might be able to embrace it for yourself as well.

Thank you for being patient with me whilst the show was on a hiatus. It was important for me to recognise that I have changed since the show began and to honour this in the best possible way for you. Which is why I've come back and called it season 2.
So I’ve been growing like many of you. During this growth, I’ve noticed that I haven’t been truly honouring who I am and sharing that with you authentically. You see, I’ve been afraid to share the real me, my true purpose and how best I am of service to you because I was afraid that it wouldn’t resonate. I know now that by not sharing my truth with both myself and my community, I have done us a disservice.
In this episode I will take you through some of the revelations that I have experienced whilst working with my coach Emily Wysock-Wright and how that might help support your self-development too.

This will be my last episode for 2020. I’m taking a much needed break from the business over the next few weeks so that I can get my creative juices flowing to hopefully create some exciting more valuable shows for 2021.
I want to first thank you for listening to the show. I know I say it in the intro and the outro but I really do mean it. I had no idea that the show would be received so well and without a big advertising machine behind me, I’ve managed to gain over a thousand listeners each month which is amazing to me! I cannot thank you enough for being here, supporting and listening. If you do enjoy the show, please please please can you write a review on Apple podcasts as this really helps other people discover the show too.
For the new year, I’d like to aim a little higher with the types of shows I produce. I’m looking at interviewing more high profile people and bringing you even more insight and support for your wellbeing. If you have any ideas, please feel free to send me an email hello@pujamcclymont.com - your input is invaluable, it’s your show, after all.
So in today’s show, I want to cover the year we’ve had and how to take the best bits even if you think there may not be any. There are some tips as always to help with creating a better year for yourself in 2021.

In this episode I get to talk with one of my newest clients, Elissa. Elissa and I started working together back in April when we were in the thick of the pandemic and lockdown was in full swing.
Elissa came to me about her career and some personal stuff which over 5 months we worked through and made big improvements in all areas of her life.
This show demonstrates how through the pandemic and also a very serious personal experience, Elissa gained a huge alignment to gratitude and its value.
On a personal note, I believe that people come into our lives at just the right time and even though I was her coach, I think I’ve actually gained a very special friendship too.
Elissa and I had never met in person until lockdown was lifted and I was hosting some self-development classes. She came to my first one (not even my husband came) to show her support and I think I cried a little at this beautiful exchange of energy - her gratitude to me and my gratitude to her.
I get inspired by all of my clients and Elissa is no exception. I love her zeal for life and her ambitions. She’s a true fighter, highly spirited and a real joy to be around. She inspires me to be better and even for me to stick to my goals which is of course a bonus! During our sessions, we were supporting each other with our health goals and it was great motivation for us so we’ll be continuing with this for the new year! And if you hear her sing, well, that’s a game-changer!

In this episode, I speak to Komal who very courageously has decided to share her journey of living with depression for over 30 years and the positive impact the pandemic has had on her seeking support.
I met Komal a few years ago in a Facebook group and she started following me on social media. When I shared my story of depression she instantly resonated, and in a way, this began her journey back to self.
This year as the pandemic hit, Komal found herself reclusing in her home, locking herself away from her husband and daughter whilst working and it was after a few months of little interaction with her family that, she decided that she wanted to take affirmative action to start working on her depression
Self-care, by putting her needs first has been the major catalyst to change as well as being more aware of her outward behaviour towards situations. She found that once she had admitted to herself that she wanted to do something about managing her mental wellbeing, it was imperative to share more with her closest people and communicate more effectively about the way she was feeling.
Although at the start of this journey, Komal coming on to the show is a fierce bit of accountability for herself to continue with the great work she is doing, and I hope that this episode serves as some hope and inspiration for anyone listening that might be looking for support.

In this show I talk about happiness and what stops you in your day to day from acknowledging that you are happy.
Happiness is not a destination that you will arrive at once you've done a number of things, or achieved a number of goals. Happiness lives within you right now, in your breath, in your existence.
Start with gratitude everyday and appreciate what you have, what you have done and where you are right now.
It can always be worse or better but understanding that happiness is not a destination will help you acknowledge happiness for your life right now.

Today’s show is a Guide to gratitude and includes the scientific reasons as to why and how it works. If you’ve dabbled here and there with having a gratitude practice, this show could help you be more consistent with it.
I’ve always been a grateful person, always go out of my way to thank someone for their kindness and I start my day and end my nights with gratitude.
It is this practice that has helped me the most with managing my mental wellbeing whilst healing from depression.
When I’m feeling particularly low, I turn to gratitude to lift me up and it works every time. It’s not always easy, sometimes, I have to list a lot that I’m grateful for before I feel the effects but I find starting with my health, my family, friends, having money in the bank soon starts to lift my mood. Quite simply because my negative thoughts can’t fight with those fundamental things that I’m grateful for - it’s a way of tricking my mind
Being grateful every day takes practice but once the benefits outweigh the effort, you’ll soon see how much easier it is to do. And being grateful is a practice to be done when things are good as well as when things are bad - more so when things are bad.

Life isn’t always rosey and sometimes, all the work that you can put in to achieve your goals can feel like they're in vein. In those tough times, I look to spirituality to help me get through.
Spirituality for me is not just about religion and certainly not about any one teaching. I believe in ancient wisdom, learning from those who have walked before us and in discovering your own path to spirituality.
I’ve always believed in something more, something else to guide me. Some might say that’s intuition and that may well be true. Either way, on those really really tough days, I look to other non-conventional teachings to help me get through and today, I want to share with you the most powerful tool I use that helps me get up and keep going. Astrology.

Lockdown has opened us up to the world of self-care and wellbeing more than any other time since the wellness industry started to gain traction. At any given hour, there is a live yoga class, sound therapy, breath-work, meditation, EFT and a whole host of other off-shoots from eastern philosophy.
On social media, every scroll offers us up a new way to look after ourselves, another type of class to do, another book to read, another self-care subscription box to buy but yet, our mental health is still suffering and if anything, has been exacerbated as a result of the pandemic.
So, if we have so much access to so many of these great tools that will help our mental well being, help us manage stress and anxiety, why are we still struggling?
The answer, my friends, is simple. These holistic therapies work, but they work as part of a system. These therapies will help with managing your symptoms but not the root cause. Which is why, if you’ve tried certain therapies, you might be asking yourself why you still feel rubbish about different areas of your life.

Do you feel like you’re at a crossroads in your career? Is your job making you feel unhappy and unfulfilled? I hear you and in this episode, I’m going to help you figure out what’s going on and help you to get some much needed clarity and direction for your next steps.
Lockdown has been difficult for many reasons but I think the biggest reason is the amount of time it has actually given us to think about our lives. If you’re like me, this has been great and you’ve been sorting through your life and making it better. If you’re like the majority, you’ve struggled with all the thoughts that have come up for you, in particular your job.
You might be feeling like it’s time for change after being in the same career for a while, you might feel like you’re stagnating and not feeling challenged anymore, or you just might want to change things completely. Whatever the reason, it’s always a good idea to reflect and see if you really need to be changing your work or whether it might be something else entirely.
Self-doubt will definitely show up every time you think of changing things in your life especially with a career so in this show, I’m going to help you figure out what might be going on or holding you back from taking your next steps.

In this episode I’m talking about why you should exercise your mind and not just your body.
This is a potentially controversial one today but it’s been a while since I called out the wellness industry and this time, as we head into round 2 of lockdown in this pandemic, I think it’s time to share this.
No matter how many posts and articles I see about raising the awareness of mental health, loads of self-care tips, barely anything really hits the nail when it comes to the mind. The most you’ll get is meditation but if your mind is FULL, how on earth are you supposed to meditate and reap the benefits?
In this show I’m going to explore why working on your mind is so beneficial right now and how that can help you move to the next steps in your life. If you keep doing self-care acts like signing up to online classes, meditation, yoga etc you’ll feel better on the surface but your deep problems will still be there.
Holistic medicine works well, holistically. You have to take care of your Mind, Body and Spirit for it to actually work!

In today’s episode I’m talking about how to discover hobbies as an adult and the benefits of having a hobby as an adult.
When we're young it’s easy for us to have hobbies - they're usually suggested by our parents however, as we start doing more adulting, we soon forget about our hobbies - citing that we have no time to do them - and then fall into the spell of working and paying bills. Then, eating and drinking become our hobbies.
Dining out and socialising are NOT hobbies. They are a part of human connection which is a basic need for our existence.
In this show, I talk about what hobbies are, how they will benefit you and how you can start choosing which hobbies you’d like to introduce into your life.

This episode marks one whole year of the Self Care 101 podcast’s existence. It’s also my 40th birthday this week. And we’re in a global pandemic with the biggest financial crisis since the great depression.
I have my health, loved ones, some stability with work and many many dreams.
I think that’s the most important bit right there, the dreams!
If you think about it, without dreaming, we really are just machines. Living to work rather than working to live.
Don’t know about you but whenever it’s my birthday, I spend about a month of the lead up (especially when it’s a milestone one) reflecting on the year gone by.
Sometimes this is filled with lots of happy moments, other times much deeper reflection of where I am and who I am now.
This year has obviously been even more different but I’ll tell you something for nothing, dreaming and dreaming big is a game-changer.
After all, goals are just dreams with deadlines.
In this episode, I’m going to talk to the dreamers about how to live a more fulfilling life.

I’ve talked a lot about taking this time as an opportunity for growth. Whether that’s personal growth by way of self-development or more practical pursuits like work and home-life.
I want to take this a little further today and provide you with some information that has not only inspired me but also helps in getting truly practical about using this time as an opportunity.
I have a lot of mentors. Most of them I don’t know personally and may never meet but they inspire me nonetheless.
When I’m feeling stuck about life or work, I am usually very unproductive. I feel stressed and go into a bit of ‘woe is me’ with everything that applies to my life. When this happens, I know that it’s because I haven’t been actively growing. I haven’t been working on my personal journey, what matters to me, what feeds my soul and what helps me grow.
At times like these, I stop and I start learning.
This recently happened to me and so I found myself absorbing learning from one of my favourites, Jay Shetty through his podcast. He had an interview there with one of my mentors, Robin Sharma. Robin was the catalyst to get me into coaching. I was astounded at how much our thinking was alike - even before I chose to go down the coaching path. I discovered Robin on my healing journey from depression. He is an author and leadership coach, seriously incredible and can articulate so beautifully, what I share more practically within my practice with clients.
Whilst listening to this show, they talked about mindset and how this seems to be the path that everyone is speaking about at the moment. Now I lead with this too in my work but the ‘sets’ are woven into my work with clients. And that’s what I want to talk about today.
Your Heartset, your Healthset, your Mindset and your Soulset - from Robin Sharma’s book, The 5am Club. I hope that it inspires you as much as it has me.

Life is so overwhelming right now and it just seems like everything has been put on pause with almost no end in sight.
The news, the confusion, the fears all lead us to despair. However, there is one thing, that if you’re open to it, can make all the difference.
Having spirituality.
Today I’m going to share with you some excerpts from one of my favourite books, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
Use today’s show like a gentle meditation. Lie down, close your eyes, relax your body and just listen to the words. Observe how you feel when you listen to the words. I really hope that it helps to give you some respite during this challenging time.

In this episode, I’m going to talk about how to set and achieve goals during a pandemic and uncertain times.
This potential second wave of the pandemic is putting us all in a spin.
There is so much out of our control. News-breaking uncertainty triggered by the pandemic, the upcoming election in the US or Brexit for the UK and the job market’s shaky footing are just some examples that have led to astonishing levels of anxiety, which has tripled, and depression, which has increased by 2 ½ times since the COVID-19 outbreak.
I’d like to ask you this, if the Wellness industry is worth $4.2trillion dollars, then why are we still struggling to manage stress? Because let’s be honest here - and the science backs this all up - stress is the precursor to the majority of mental health illnesses including anxiety and depression.
There are a multitude of resources available to us - quite literally at the click of a button as more therapists in varying fields take their businesses online - yet, we are still unable to manage our stress.
So in this show, I’m not going to talk explicitly about how you can manage stress, instead I’m going to take the focus away from fear which induces stress and help you to make goals and achieve them during this uncertainty that we are currently living in.
This one is not for the faint-hearted. There are some fierce truths in here that are only suitable for those who are willing to take control of their own lives.

In this episode I’m going to talk about the pressure we put on ourselves. There’s a difference between putting pressure on yourself and it leading to negative outcomes and excelling at what you want to do.
In this show I will talk about the symptoms of putting too much pressure on ourselves and how that can harm us. I will also go into some discussion about NLP and how working towards excellence includes compassion for self, acceptance of failure and resilience.
I’ve talked about this topic in previous shows but this time we’re going to go a little deeper and share some helpful NLP techniques to further strengthen change.
As always, I’ll be giving some tips to help you move forward and make better decisions for when you do put too much pressure on yourself.
Life is to be enjoyed, we often forget that when we’re in the pursuit of happiness and what it means to us.

In this episode I’m interviewing my very first celebrity! Exciting as that sounds, I didn’t know he was a celebrity when I met him. We just clicked in our thinking about wellbeing and exchanged numbers.
Elijah Rowen is an actor. You may know him from the popular Amazon Prime show Vikings or more recently as Zane in Curfew. Elijah greatly believes that “one should plan for what is difficult while it is easy and to do what is great while it is small.”
Elijah never knew what he wanted to do with his life until he had finished school and seemingly ran out of options, it was then he decided to study acting. After graduating Irish theatre school he decided to give his all to acting and after great struggle and highly unconventional methods, an agent-less Elijah found himself on the set of History’s Vikings; shortly after he landed himself leading roles in other large scale productions. Rowen is determined to use his trajectory to immerse himself to the fullest not only in front of the camera but in the writing, producing, directing and every other element of this many layered industry.
As well as being a great young actor, Elijah is definitely an old soul. He has such an open and grounded outlook on life and being well that I’m inspired by him and the future he will affect for generations to come.
In this show we talk about Self-love and how it applies to men. We discuss what Elijah does in his own life to keep himself well especially in his - often volatile and stressful - industry.
I hope you enjoy this show as much as we did making it.

In this episode I’m interviewing one of my faves from the gram, Mr Paul Silva.
Paul Silva is a fellow Coach and began his coaching career working with people in addiction recovery and life transitions. I discovered Paul and learned so much from him about this topic which is an area that I don’t cover within my practice.
I asked Paul if he would like to do the show because as much as we talk about the lighter side of self-love, addiction resides on the opposite side of this spectrum where if you aren’t able to develop self-love for yourself, this could well be an unwelcome outcome.
Like many wonderful coaches, Paul also draws on his own experiences to help others. In this show, I’m humbled that he was able to share an extremely personal journey with addiction.
Paul is currently working as a mentor and life transition coach, with new coaches, as they build their businesses and their confidence.
This is an insightful show and one which had me a little lost for words as I listened to Paul’s story. I hope that it helps others to recognise any symptoms of addiction within themselves or others and if you would like to discuss any of your concerns, please do get in touch with Paul. He’s an incredible person who will go out of his way to help and I’m privileged to now have him in my life too.

In this episode I’m going to talk about Self-love being a superpower!
So, you aren’t perfect, and you have flaws. Do you realise that seven billion other humans fit this same description?
You must find a way to love yourself: mistakes, regrets, weaknesses, and all. You are valuable and important, and to be happy you must discover a path that leads you to love yourself.
Self-love is a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological and spiritual growth. Self-love is dynamic.
You grow to love yourself by behaving in positive ways that help you physically, psychologically, and spiritually. You can’t let failure or imperfection keep you from growing love for yourself.
This is a complicated psychological skill that you absolutely have to master through practice: loving yourself, without exceptions or qualifications.
Superpowers develop as you love yourself so in this show, I’m going to share 10 amazing ways that you can do this and with a bit of time, consistency and effort, you’ll be well on your way to achieving Self-love as your Superpower.

In this episode I talk about Self-love.
This is a huge topic and one that deserves a few shows, so this is just part 1. The areas I will cover in helping you to build self-love are based on recent interactions with clients and my community.
What I didn't realise is how much this topic would bring up for me personally and when I was putting this show together, I had a lot to share with you.
I cover in a little more detail some of the unhelpful and unhealthy behaviours we exhibit throughout our lives when we don’t put ourselves first.
I’m going to talk about different scenarios in the hope that the show resonates with many of you.

In this episode I interview my new bestie from the ‘Gram, Lindsey Samson aka the Insta Mindset Coach.
Lindsey works with coaches to demystify Instagram and empower her clients to organically grow an engaged community, attract their dream clients and convert sales using her Instagram strategies.
The show covers Lindsey’s journey from the big smoke of London in a high-flying corporate career to going back home to the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and setting up her own business.
As Lindsey’s business is focussed on Instagram, in this show, you’ll also get insights to those burning questions about the algorithm, engagement as well as how to best use Instagram for your business.
Lindsey shares her top tips for wellbeing and we even cover the whole comparison thing that is probably most prevalent on Instagram - more than any other social platform.
This is a fun and informative show, you’ll see very quickly how insightful Lindsey is and I personally have loved working with her.

In this episode I talk about how you can build resilience. Obviously, we’re all going through a super tough time right now with the pandemic, the recession, the ever-changing landscape of uncertainty and it’s quite frankly, a bit too much right?
So how can building resilience help? Do you even have the strength to be able to build resilience right now?
Trying to build resilience in our current situation isn’t going to be the easiest thing you’ll do but if you can find the time to do just little things, it will really help you to bounce back from other adversities as your life goes on.

In this episode I interview Mel Maw, founder of The Lifestyle VA helping clients turn their chaos into calm.
We last spoke to Mel in episode 9 of the podcast about how Travel can be therapy where Mel took us on her journey from sabbatical, to relocating to Bali for a year, to coming back to London and setting up her own business.
This episode is about anxiety. Specifically how Mel navigates her anxiety as a business owner as well as through the pandemic as someone who has had to shield.
The Lifestyle VA is founded with over 15 years of experience, where Mel worked as a top Executive Assistant for some of the world’s most exceptional and fascinating C Suite execs, Entrepreneurs and businesses across London, New York and Asia.
Since being back in the UK, and with the extra time provided by Covid, Mel has had the opportunity to grow her business which has naturally come with its challenges as well as successes.
Mel now has an expert team of VAs that work their magic to change the way clients work and give them a seriously, beautiful, organised life!
This episode covers some practical tips Mel uses to navigate the world and her chronic anxiety plus some tips on how to push through when you’re having a super tough day.

This episode is about comparison. Specifically comparing yourself to others on social media. How can you focus on your own progress when there is so much noise around you?
Whilst social media is an incredible addition to our society, it unfortunately didn’t come with a health warning like on cigarettes or alcohol but it’s probably just as addictive and just as destructive.
Managing your consumption of social media and especially that of comparison is something not only beneficial for you to learn for you but for you to also teach others, especially children and young people. You are therefore the social media warning label.
We are living in a world of ratings! Instant gratification is everywhere which raises dopamine too frequently and dilutes the joy and happiness we should be experiencing at a balanced level. The long-term effects of this unbalanced dopamine hit will harm your mental wellbeing.

In this episode, I’m interviewing Naomi White of Naomi White Communications. Naomi is an expert PR coach and consultant with over a decade of experience working in fashion, health and wellness.
Naomi started her career in PR mixing with the fashion elite at some of London's top agencies. Realising her passion for fitness after a personal health issue, Naomi decided to embark on a new adventure as a health & wellness PR.
Naomi knows her stuff and in my opinion, is definitely one of the best in the industry. She has an excellent work ethic, beautiful energy and is THE most helpful person I’ve had the privilege of working with as well. She always always gives more than what you’re paying for and this, I think, is what makes her one of the best. She really cares about your business and its success!
The show covers Naomi’s journey to PR and includes a little pivot in spinning! She has an incredible wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of PR, so this is a MUST LISTEN for all entrepreneurs with product or service based businesses who are interested in growing their brand’s reach through PR.
Naomi shares some amazing industry insights, tips for doing your own PR and how important wellness is when you’re a business owner as well.

In this episode, I’m going to talk about how to crush overwhelm, stay focussed and live better.
If you listened to episode 40, you’ll know that I am changing the podcast a little. I’ve decided to keep the name and just keep it focussed on small business entrepreneurs.
The show will maintain wellness at its core but I’ll be adding more interviews with entrepreneurs discussing their businesses and how they stay well.
I believe that this focus will allow the show to grow and be even better! The format will stay the same with practical tips and coaching support but I’ll be adding more marketing-led content.
So if you’re a small business creative entrepreneur, either starting out with a side hustle, at the beginning of your journey or a more established business - I hope that these new shows will help with clearing all the noise of running a business and keep you well.

In this episode, I share a story with you. This is MY story. As I approach the big 40 this year, I’ve been reflecting a lot on the past and where I want to go in my future whilst keeping my feet firmly in the present.
I’m sharing this story with you because I haven’t as yet, let you in on all the dirty details. I have only shared bits and pieces here and there but for you to truly know me, I believe you should know of my experiences that have led me to where I am today, why and how. The other reason is quite simply, I’ve had a lot of time to reflect of late. This reflection time has created opportunities for me to get clear with who I am, what I want to do and where I want to go.
The biggest challenge in my life has been, never being good enough. With my family, my friendships, my work, my relationships. It’s been tough but without every experience I wouldn’t be here today and for that I will always be grateful.

In this episode I talk about self-worth and self-sabotaging. Why do we think so less of ourselves? Why do we keep sabotaging the goals we want to achieve? How can we gain control over our behaviours so that we can start winning?
We know we want something, we set about doing it, we start well and then bam, something happens, throws us off track and we start sabotaging all of our good efforts. Sometimes the spiral of sabotage can be so deep that it can take months to get back on track. Yet, we still want to achieve our goals. This is where our desire for what we want comes into play and how our self-worth makes it harder for us to keep going. Essentially, we convince ourselves that we’re not worthy of the goal and give up.

And how to stay motivated to achieve your goals especially when we're in a landscape of so much uncertainty.

This is probably my deepest episode so far. I interview award-winning founder and coach, Rupinder Kaur of Asian Women Mean Business. This is a community that connects Asian Women both on and offline providing a unique environment where women can experience empathy and understanding to share their business journeys and entrepreneurial dreams.
We talk about the journey from corporate life to discovering her own spiritual journey which led to her becoming a baptised Sikh. For Rupinder, she felt her life was missing spirituality and a connection to the divine. The journey has been one of exploration, growth and love. It has been the most pivotal journey Rupinder has ever been on - even more than marriage and kids - because it was a journey just for herself.
The aim of our show is to demonstrate what the journey to spirituality can look like and its benefits. We discuss the ways you can approach spirituality or religion even if it’s out of your comfort zone.
“Surrender to the flow of life” says Rupinder.

Calling all mamas! In this episode, I interview Dina Maktabi from online network Kensington Mums. We talk about what it’s like being a mum in the city, the importance of community and how to manage those judgemental comments! We talk about the ‘mummy blues’ sometimes known as the baby blues which is often associated with postnatal depression and how common this is.
Kensington Mums was established by Dina in 2011 with the aim of sharing knowledge and experiences to help fellow mums learn from one another. Today the network commands an audience of over 48,000 London based mothers, many of whom live outside of the Kensington area but tap into the community for its blend of events, advice and connectivity. Kensington Mums has won awards for Brilliance in Blogging plus Best Website and has the support from a number of celebrity mums. Dina’s vision is to expand their offering and reach mummy communities internationally.
It’s important for mums to be connected with like-minded ladies and Dina has truly created a powerful community of mums that can support each other at any stage of their children’s lives. Kensington mums is my favourite platform for mums. It’s not fluffy, I have never felt that it was a judgemental space and I think that they are a truly authentic support for mums. Kensington mums portrays the reality of motherhood not just that picture perfect Insta-mum. It’s open to everyone now, not just those living in Kensington so do look them up if you want to connect with other amazing mums!

In this episode, I’m going to be ranting a little a bit about society and the disparity of behaviour in social media during the current crisis.
Mental wellbeing is essential for us all. It does not discriminate. Why then am I seeing publicity stunt after publicity stunt like free pizzas for NHS staff, a round of applause by the nation. Did you know that they are having to work in a way that neither them nor us could have ever fathomed?
When a NHS employee sits down to rest and scrolls social media - the same way we are all connecting at present - they need to be seeing uplifting content not anger-filled posts. They need to see practical tips that are realistic for them and they need to have their mental wellbeing supported by kind, funny content.

In this episode, I talk about Fear and Belief. Specifically, the language we use and the way we process thoughts without really connecting to self awareness or true consciousness. It’s not that deep, I keep it light but I do want us to focus on self awareness a bit for this podcast and also how you can learn to understand when fear, belief or language isn't yours. On this episode I interview a lady that I am very humbled to also have the privilege of working with. Dr Deepa Apté is a renowned Ayurvedic Practitioner and MD. Her spa Ayurveda Pura is where she treats clients with traditional healing practices and hosts a number of a courses for therapists and practitioners.
Ayurveda is the ancient Indian holistic medical system. It is based on achieving physical and mental harmony with nature which has been practised for more than 5000 years. Ayurveda means science of life, Ayur meaning life and veda meaning science and was first recorded in the Vedas, the world’s oldest surviving literature.
As my practice has grown and developed, I’ve realised that without even knowing it I have been incorporating Ayurvedic principles of balance and holistic views in my techniques, always looking to work on a clients goals by reviewing their whole life. So when I met Deepa, we chatted for hours and she endorsed to me herself that so much of what I was saying about my coaching practice was Ayurvedic.
I hope this podcast enlightens you on Ayurveda, the truth about yoga and how you can bring some of these principles into your own life.

On this episode, I talk about how we can be judgemental, how that affects and creates anxiety and I’m going to offer mindfulness meditation techniques that you can use to help better manage these deep-rooted feelings.
Deep-rooted habits can be a block to happiness. Whilst practicing mindfulness meditation is the most effective way to dissolve the force of habit, we can make a start by bringing compassionate attention to our habits.

This is a very special episode for me. I get to interview one of my clients, India who shares her journey from struggling with depression to thriving by learning how to manage her mental health. I met India at my first retreat, she came to me after leaving a job and not feeling motivated to do anything. She was low but she was hiding it. On the retreat itself, she opened up about a traumatic experience that snowballed into affecting her work and her mental wellbeing. As the topic of the trauma is still very sensitive, we won’t be disclosing it but trust me, it was traumatic and her life could have gone in a very different direction if she hadn’t found the strength within her to fight. I personally adore India. She is such a vibrant, infectious and beautiful person to be around - I’m sure you’ll see how fun she is on this show. We also talk a little about a topic that India and I are very passionate about, mental health awareness. Our opinions are pretty strong and I have to stress that every person must do what is right for them and that we are only sharing our own opinions from the experiences we have both had with depression.

On this episode I’m going to talk about energy and more specifically, energy exchange. Science now accepts that the universe, including us, is made up of energy, not matter. This is not actually new – it was posited by Socrates in Europe way back when, and by the ancient Rishis in India thousands of years before that.
Quantum physics says that as you go deeper and deeper into the workings of the atom, you see that there is nothing there – just energy waves. It says an atom is actually an invisible force field, a kind of miniature tornado, which emits waves of electrical energy.
Those energy waves can be measured and their effects seen, but they are not a material reality, they have no substance because they are… well, just electricity. So science now embraces the idea that the universe is made of energy.
This means it is important to be aware of whether you are in an environment where you are getting entangled in destructive energy waves or constructive energy waves.

On this episode I’m going to talk about how to let go of the need to be perfect. Perfectionism tends to stem from fear. This is usually very deep rooted from childhood and then this fear is fed as we become adults and start working towards life goals. Depending on your upbringing, it can be really hard to ascertain what you are ok with and what you’ve been conditioned to believe is ok. Experts have found that perfectionism is more than an attitude or excess attention to detail — it has become a way of life that creates and amplifies mental health issues. It’s a clear signal that we have a problematic relationship with our sense of self.

On this episode, I address overthinking, why it’s bad for your health and how you can start taking steps today to manage it better. There’s likely something from the past that triggers this behaviour. And with that, it means you have a choice to stop it or to carry on. There’s a meme about how many tabs you have open in your mind - if there are multiple thoughts whirling around your mind all the time, it’s going to not only affect your sleep, your decision-making, it ultimately harms your mental wellbeing and we can prevent this.
On this episode, I interview Anna Davidson - a survivior of domestic violence who is starting to share her experience with others who may need help. Domestic abuse will affect 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men in their lifetime. This Leads to, on average, two women being murdered each week and 30 men per year and accounts for 16% of all violent crime, however it is still the violent crime least likely to be reported to the police. Domestic violence has more repeat victims than any other crime. This is not only an inspiring story of resilience, strength and determination, it's also a moving, sad and frightening one. Anna is a strong woman, she shares her story of working in a successful corporate career, being the breadwinner in a loving marriage to taking redundancy and everything she knew and trusted being taken from her. N.B Apologies for the random beeping in the show.

A lot of the time we talk about being positive people but our actions don't always reflect this. Having a healthy mindset is looking at yourself as a whole, knowing how to use your energy to affect good things in your life and how to reframe your thinking whenever something bad happens. On this episode, I've shared a tip inspired by NLP techniques to help you get to working on your mindset goals.

No one actively goes out to hurt themselves but so many of us do it all the time. I do it, I'm pretty sure if you clicked on to listen to this episode, that you do it too. It's all too easy to hurt ourselves when we think that others are going to behave the way we do. We have to learn to stop expecting ourselves from others. If we can raise our self awareness enough about this, we can truly start to understand why we get hurt and how to put an end to it once and for all. On this episode I delve into the behaviour patterns for expectations and also some NLP support for mindset work to help raise self awareness. In the words of Vivian in Pretty Women "big mistake, huge!" We have to learn to stop expecting ourselves from others. If we can raise our self awareness enough about this, we can truly start to understand why we get hurt and how to put an end to it once and for all.

On this episode I’m going to talk about one of my favourite things to do, ever, SLEEP. We’ll look at why we should be sleeping well and also how.
We’re all pretty aware that sleeping well is going to benefit us. A good night’s sleep is vital to our physical health and emotional well-being. That’s why the benefits of good sleep should never be underestimated and why getting a proper rest on a regular basis isn’t just a good idea, it’s an essential one. There’s a lot of information out in the world about how much sleep we should be having, tips on getting to sleep, how you should be feeling etc etc but I wanted to simplify it for you in this podcast. Firstly, we need to sleep and we need to sleep well. We are humans, not robots. Sleep is essential for so many reasons and can usually help get us out of certain moods, that’s where the term “sleep on it” comes into play as well as essentially just plain make us feel good to seize the day. Here’s some science for you before I give you some tips for learning how to sleep well. I know it’s not easy for some but if you can embrace sleeping well, you will also start healing some of the stuff that’s going on with you.

On this episode, I interview my long-time friend Kelly who is struggling to get pregnant. A lot of people want to have a baby and for some it’s super easy, they have sex and then taddah, they’ve got a bun in the oven. However for almost 1 in 7 heterosexual couples in the UK this is simply not the case. Reasons for not being able to conceive easily vary couple to couple and PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) is a common condition that affects how a woman's ovaries work - but there is no treatment. It has been rearing its head for a long while now yet still doesn’t have the awareness that it should. It’s a silent reason for difficulties getting pregnant but one that we should all know more about. Weight plays a big role with PCOS and in general all pregnancies but Kelly’s struggle meant that she had to take drastic action because of her age as well, to help her chances of conceiving. This is an emotional story and one that I feel honoured to have been able to learn about. I am so grateful to Kelly for allowing me to interview her for the podcast, in the hope that her insights might be able to help someone.

On this episode I’m going to talk about how you can put yourself first and why it’s so important especially during the festive season.
Some of us have a habit of putting everyone and everything before ourselves. Sometimes, we don’t even realise we do it and the extent to which we do it. It’s important fo our own mental health and well-being that we recognise this and manage it because if we don’t, eventually we will burnout and not even know why it happened in the first place. So, if you recognise that you put others before yourself, this podcast is a must-listen!

If you’re really serious about your health and wellbeing – this extends beyond losing weight and being less tired – then you need to look at your life as a whole, not just food and fitness.
In this episode I talk about the scaremongering, the fads, the trends and the countless amounts of misrepresented and appropriated information about various different traditions that have become silo therapies some of which may work, but are really only truly effective in the context in which they were designed – which includes the combined elements of their theories, which should be considered.

Being inspired by a friend’s strength is something to behold. When someone close to you battles with life threatening events, it’s important for us to understand how difficult that process was and how they were able to come out the other side - not unscathed - but instead more informed and resilient to what life brings us. In this episode I interview my friend Mel who experienced an intense life event that has shaken up her entire outlook on life. Following a year-long trip to Bali where Mel's mental health was challenged and many lessons were learned, this is an inspiring story of strength, resilience and motivation to continue to live life well.
