Shawn Pendergast is an instructor at the Marine Institute at Memorial University of Newfoundland, a PhD candidate with the University of Calgary, and has been working in higher eduation and IT for decades. PhD candidate Naomie Barnes shares her experience doing fieldwork on digital communities. Naomie wrote her master's thesis on true crime fandom, focusing on online forums and chat rooms.
Professor Lynn Kendall is Chair of the Business Administration Department at Memorial University's Grenfell campus. In this episode, she shares strategies and tools for teaching online classes. Dr. Gabrielle Young is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at Memorial University. She teaches courses surrounding understanding and supporting students with specific learning disorders. Her research interests surround the use of technology to support students in inclusive classrooms and facilitate positive mental health. In this episode, we focus on strategies for graduate students to get the most out of remote learning and how to maintain a system of support despite social distancing measures.
