Welcome to Cloud on the couch a podcast made by Richu and Karsh. We're 2 friends getting together after 5 long years discussing the brain-racking topics we used to talk about back in high school. We both had our own separate spiritual journey's in the last 5 years and this podcast is the accumulation of the "wisdom" we've attained, to come back and try to shed light on the hard questions of life. Stay tuned for our episodes where we have long discussions about Spirituality, Science, Buddhism, neuroscience, consciousness, quantum physics, flow state and everything in between!
In this episode Richu and Karsh talks about emotions and their perspective on what they are and why we have them in the first place. This episode was inspired by Dr. Lisa Feldman Barrets book, "How Emotions are made, the secret life of the brain", she's a psychologist and a neuroscientist, that dedicated her life to emotion science in order to figure out what emotions are, and how it changes our perception on what it means to be human.
This episode is part 1 of a 3 part Series, where we talk about our current "classical" understanding about emotions and how Dr. Barret helped us understand that our classical understanding of emotions has a lot of misconceptions that we need to unravel first before we can truly understand what emotions are and where they come from.
Part 2, will be about the neuroscience behind how emotions are made. While part 3 will be about how we can use this knowledge to master our emotions and how it changes our perception on what it means to be human.
This episode Richu and Karsh talks about astrology, it's origins and whether it makes any sense or is just one of the many different methods we use to make us feel special in a random and chaotic universe that doesn't care about our existence 🙂 Reference Video: https://youtu.be/-NHDvWabiyM
Richu and Karsh discuss a recent finding in neuroscience that changes our understanding of how the human brain works, and they both contemplate whether learning more about ourselves will change the overall outlook of what it means to be human.
