In a world of broken promises and disappointments, we can learn to have a healthy distrust when we are promised something in life. We should not apply this healthy skepticism to the Lord our God! For the Lord, is completely faithful and trustworthy, and when God makes a promise, He keeps it! In this series, we will be talking about God‘s promises for our lives, which are sure to be fulfilled!
There are many opinions about who Jesus is. Thankfully, we don't have to wonder. Nor do we don't have to learn about Jesus from someone else. Jesus taught extensively about who He is throughout the book of John using descriptive metaphors and object lessons so that we might know Him. Come hear who Jesus is in His Own Words!

Marriage is not the invention of man; it is the invention of God. The purpose of marriage resides within the purpose and plan of God. Those of you who are married, going to be married or are thinking about it, need to understand, that your marriage is to honor God because it was created by God and for the glory of God. As in all of life, what matters most in marriage is God.

When asked what is the most important commandment, Jesus said its most important to love God, and love our neighbor (Matt 22:34-40). The Apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 13 dives into how important love is -- we can do amazing things, but without love we've gained nothing! In life we should be more focused on LOVE -- then we've got something!

The story of the woman at the well is a heart-warming example of love, truth, and rebirth. And best of all, not only does Jesus save her, but He saves us, too. He wants us all in His eternal kingdom, if only we, too, will repent and believe.

Satan divides, and the Lord reconciles. He reconciles us to Himself, and He also reconciles us to the ones we love all through His Son Jesus Christ. In life we long so much to have our relationships with the ones we love reconciled, and in this series we will look at how that happens through the Good News of Jesus Christ! Satan brought some of his strongest divisions into Jacob and Esau's - and yet the more Jacob and Esau submitted them to the Lord, the more reconciliation they enjoyed! We will study this passage, and seek reconciliation from the Lord!
This week Pastor Jeremy gives a message from Colossians 4:2-6 about “Being a Wise Witness”
This week we will learn from Luke 15:1-10 as Pastor Jeremy shares a message about the Parable of the Lost Coin.
Work is easy to find. Companies are out there desperate for good employees. "Help Wanted" signs remain hanging year round, advertising their starting wage. Too few people apply because they feel the work is beneath them, the company's vision is uninspiring, or the generous wage is not enough. There is another employer out there calling for our help. It is the Lord. He has a great harvest awaiting, but also finds too few laborers. Will we accept the position? Will we join with Him in reaching people for salvation?
Dave Cook concludes the “Going Up” Series with a look at the Ascension of Jesus Acts 1:6-11
"The Bible makes the audacious claim that here in this life we can approach the unapproachable through Jesus Christ to be seated with God in the heavenly places. With grand claims and flowery language, the scriptures describe this indescribable experience of having communion with God in this lifetime. In this sermon series we will be seeking and celebrating the mountain top experiences available to us which lift us out of the natural and into the supernatural presence of our God!"
This week Pastor Jeremy will continue our series on marriage, with a message from Ephesians 5:22, 25-33
This week Pastor Jeremy will continue our series on marriage, with a message from Matthew 18:23-35.
Marriage is an amazing blessing from the Lord, however, as sinners we complicate things and often turn God's blessings into burdens. While marriage can hurt, Jesus can heal! Every individual marital problem -- no matter how complex-- can be simplified down to our heart to follow Jesus. In this series we will look at our marriages and pray that the Lord's Spirit take over our hearts and heal our marriages with the forgiveness of Jesus Christ!

This week Pastor Jeremy’s message, “Jesus is Faithful in My Place”, will be from Matthew 5:27-30.
This Sunday Pastor Jeremy continues our series “Jesus Loves You More Than the Rules”. This weeks message is titled “Jesus is Patient in My Place” and we will be in Matthew 5:21-26
God has given us his list of rules. They aren't just any old set, this is the rules we would follow if we truly loved others and loved God. And if you've ever tried to follow this list, you know you've failed. But thank God for His love and His mercy, because when we fail to follow the rules God doesn't throw us out, He sends His son Jesus to save us! Because God loves YOU more than the rules.
There's a lot of crazy things going on in the world, and sometimes you look out and it's hard to love other people. Whether it's someone in your family or a group of people in the world that is causing you frustration -- Jesus calls us to love them. How? Today we are going to learn one simple truth that when we take it to heart will lead to a deep love for other people!
It's easy to try to fill the hole in our hearts with material possessions - things we can grab and hold. But the Lord tells us to fill our hearts with something a little less tangible -- his Holy Spirit. It's easy to make life about what is in our bank account or in our garage, but if we want fulfillment we need to make our life about what is in our hearts -- Jesus!
This week Pastor Jeremy will wrap up our series on Jonah, with a message titled “Salvation of Our Enemies” from Jonah 4:1-11.

Pastor Jeremy continues our series Jonah - The Real Miracle, with a message from Jonah 1:3
This week Pastor Jeremy begins a new series on Jonah.
"Many people have a hard time believing the miracle that Jonah was spared from drowning by being swallowed by a big fish - but the real miracle in the story of Jonah is the story of God's pursuing love! Salvation belongs to the Lord, who saves anyone and everyone who puts their trust in Him. This series reminds us that no love is deeper, no love is wider, no love is truer, and no love is truer - HIs love is as vast as the ocean!"
Week 3 of our “In the Image of God” series is this Sunday, Dec 26th. Pastor Jeremy will be sharing a message titled “God’s Image is Jesus”
Join us this week for week 2 of our series “In The Image of God”. This week Jeremy will be sharing a message titled “To Love Our Gender”
"You and I are created in God’s image! In this series we will look at how this theological concept is a source of our true value, as well as how our gender plays an important part in bearing God’s image. Sin causes us to imperfectly reflect God’s image, but at Christmas, we celebrate the Word taking on flesh, the true image of God come to us – Jesus Christ!"

Many times we experience evil and wonder why is God allowing it? Where is He? And we wonder if we can trust God. God, on the other hand, has proved His trustworthiness by sending His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus tells us a story about how the real question is not whether or not we can trust God, but whether or not God can trust us to spread the Gospel!
The Lord has a desire for His followers to love others, but as sinful people we look for loopholes to justify our lack of love for certain people who are not like us. This Sunday we'll read a story Jesus told which illustrates that there are no loopholes to God's love!
This Sunday we are wrapping up our journey through Ecclesiastes, learning from King Solomon as he uses his vast wealth and resources to try to find meaning apart from God. We've seen Solomon seek meaning in finances, pleasure, power, romance, and this Sunday we will see Solomon looking at finding meaning in bringing justice and fairness in life and finding that too cannot bring ultimate meaning. In a world where people are sinful, justice apart from God is a foolish endeavor and so we must look bigger to the Lord and His judgment!
Dave Cook shares with us this week! He will be talking about what Jesus thinks about “Eternal Separation”
Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
Join us as Pastor Jeremy continues our Think Big series about King Solomon’s journey to find meaning.
This week Pastor Jeremy continues our new Series “Think Big”. The message will be from Ecclesiastes 2:1-11 on “Pleasure".
Christians sometimes get characterized for being "simple-minded" people of faith. But as we look at finding meaning in the world, Christians are actually the biggest thinkers around! For no ultimate meaning can be found in anything under the sun - so people have to think bigger and find ultimate meaning in the Lord Jesus Christ! We'll be reading through the book of Ecclesiastes looking at King Solomon's journey of finding life empty apart from the Lord, and we'll be looking at where we are finding meaning in our own journey as well!
This week join us as Pastor Jeremy finishes up our series “Turning the Tables” from Genesis chapters 45-50
This week Barb Beard will be sharing with us from Matthew 7:13, 14. “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
This week join us as Pastor Jeremy shares about “Redeeming Our Failures” from Genesis 42.
Joseph is one of the most inspiring characters in all the scripture: whether he is in the palace or the prison he never stops following the Lord. Joseph's brothers, on the other hand, are so awful they decide there is not enough in it for them if they just murder Joseph so they sell him into slavery instead. Joseph encounters many setbacks but God always works everything for his good because Joseph trusts in the Lord. The AMAZING thing about this story though is not about Joseph - its about his brothers. When the brothers trust in the Lord, the Lord works it all for THEIR good too. Now THAT is a merciful and amazing God, and I need a God who is that big, that he can work even my own failures for my good!
"The Lord is with Joseph, taking the plans that Satan has to destroy Joseph and turning the tables to use those plans to instead bless Joseph. God is turning his setbacks into success, and Joseph later uses the very things he learns during those setbacks to bring success. In the end Joseph forgets all of his hardship. We learn to remain faithful to the Lord and never give up our faith so we can see the Lord do the same thing in our lives!"
This Sunday Pastor Jeremy continues our series “Turning the Tables” with a message from Genesis 39 about how God takes our setbacks and uses them to bring success.
God has good plans for your darkest moments. He did for Joseph, the victim, but also for his brothers, the perpetrators. Maybe you’ve been less than perfect, we all have. But God has a plan to use your darkest moments and even your own sin, to bring good into your life. Just turn and follow Him.
Help us welcome our new pastor Jeremy Lind! This Sunday in his first message at HCC he will be sharing from Luke 7:36-50 a message titled "Know How Much We Owe".
To fully appreciate Jesus' forgiveness and love, we must understand the debt created by our sins. Jesus didn't just forgive us of something small that wasn't noteworthy, he forgave us of serious sin. The focus however is not on our sin, but His Forgiveness! Understanding the depth of our forgiveness will expand the depth of our love for Him!
This week, Barb Beard will be sharing about the purpose of our life. Why do you exist? Why do you get up in the morning? What is your purpose? What is HCC’s purpose? Knowing our purpose adds to our understanding of how we live in unity with our family in Christ (from last weeks’ message).
Read Psalm 145 and look at the many reasons we have to praise Him every day. We were made to worship Him!
Eph. 1:12 AMP So that we who hope in Christ (who have put our confidence in Him) have been destined and appointed to live for the praise of His glory!
John 17 is remarkable in many ways because we see what was on Jesus’s heart for His disciples shortly before He faced His death. This Sunday we’ll look at just one of the requests Jesus made in this prayer—Jesus prayed that we would be one. Several times in this prayer He prayed about our unity as believers. It’s no doubt that unity is of utmost importance to Him. It’s vitally important to our witness! As you read John 17 and Philippians 2:1-8, think about what unity in our body looks like. Barb Beard will be sharing this week.
Hal Perkins shares with us a message from Philippians 1:21- To live is Christ and to die is gain.
Do you sometimes wonder if God hears your prayers? Have you prayed about something, waited in expectation to see the answer, and it never came? In this week’s message, Barb Beard will take us into scriptures that give us a glimpse of what He is doing. He does hear our prayers and He is always at work. Join us as we talk about how to look beyond what we can see with our eyes to see what God is doing behind the scenes. Read the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 and ponder what Jesus teaches us about the purpose and goal of prayer.
This week Dave Cook wraps up the series of messages on the Kingdom with a message titled "Kingdom People" from Romans 8:15-17.

Chipper, Dayton and Barb from GoServe share with us their testimonies and a little about the organization GoServ.
Justin Locke share with us this week a message from James 4:12 about “Overcoming Our Unrighteous Judgements”.
This week Barb Beard teaches a familiar passage—The Lord’s Prayer. Though many of us have this prayer memorized, do we understand what we are asking, and why Jesus would teach us to pray like this? Jesus’s instructions are simple, practical, and life-changing.
This Sunday Aaron Cantrell is back with the first of a two part series. We will be exploring the attribute of God’s holiness from Isaiah 6:1-8.
This week is Palm Sunday, the day that crowds of people celebrated the fact that Jesus was King! Sadly, by the end of the week, most of those people rejected Him and even shouted for His crucifixion. This Sunday, Barb Beard will lead us through Scriptures that show us the kind of King Jesus is.
This Sunday Paul Bockelman shares with us a message about Standing Fast from Ephesians 6:13.
2 Samuel 7:18-29 When we bring God’s promises to Him in prayer, we can be confident that He will answer. He loves for us to depend on Him by believing what He says, and asking Him to do as He has promised. This week, Barb Beard will be encouraging us to take ahold of God’s promises and make them our prayer.
The Two Sides of the Coin of Saving Faith. Aaron is back with us again as we discuss the subject of repentance in our message “The two sides of the coin of saving faith.” Scripture reading will be from Acts 2:22-39.
How is your faith affected when God answers your prayers? When you have prayed for something specific and you see God answer, it’s such an incredible experience, isn’t it? The Almighty God, who rules the universe, hears and answers our prayers!
But, how is your faith affected when God doesn’t answer your prayers? What do you think when God seems to be answering your prayer with “no?”
In 2 Corinthians 12, we will look at a time in the Apostle Paul’s life when God answered Paul’s request with “no”. In Paul’s example, we can learn a lot about prayer and how to view God’s purposes in unanswered prayer.
This week we will continue our study of Biblical themes as we consider the wonderful news of “Redemption.”
This week we begin our study of Biblical themes as we consider “Creation,” from Genesis 1.
"Trouble is God's servant, doing His will. Trouble is under the control of Almighty God, and is one of His most effective agents in fulfilling His purposes and in perfecting His saints.” EM Bounds
This Sunday we’ll be looking at Psalm 84 where we can see the truth of this statement. If you have time, read Psalm 84. Look at how the psalmist viewed God, and how that affected his view of life. As he wrote this psalm, he was in the “valley of Baka”, which translates as the “valley of weeping.”
2020 has been a year unlike any other. In the midst of a pandemic, racial tensions, and divisive politics, it has never been more important to answer the question: “Who is your shepherd?” We’ll look at Psalm 23 and together reflect on what it means that the Lord is our shepherd.
Traci Schrock shares with us about remembering God's faithfulness and how we can use our spiritual gifts to encourage those around us and to move us forward for great things to come.
Aaron Cantrell joins us this week! He will be sharing a message from 1 Peter 2:1-3 about Peter’s practical instruction on attitudes and actions that Christians should “put away.”
Life, both now and in the past, is not the smooth-sailing journey we would prefer. It may seem like our world is crumbling, or our foundations are being shaken. Psalm 46 shows us that in a world that is shaking, we can remain unshaken.
Fear is a natural reaction to danger or threat, and the emotion of fear can be good or bad. The real issue isn’t the fear, but what we do with the fear.
This week, Barb Beard will be taking us through Psalm 46 where we’ll see reasons why we can be fearless in fearful times.
How do you pray? When do you pray? Where do you pray? This Sunday we will get take a seat next to the disciples to hear Jesus pray, and get answers to these questions?
More than a third of the Psalms are Psalms of laments. More than two thirds of all the Psalms contain at least some lament. This Sunday Pastor Brian will walk us through how the act of lament helps us bring healing in the midst of difficult times. Jesus told us that the world we live in will be difficult. How should we handle those difficult seasons?
We live in a very divided world. In fact, so did Jesus. This Sunday Pastor Brian will walk us through the history that caused the division in Jesus’ world and how Jesus broke through those divisions.
Am I my brother’s keeper? This is the first question that mankind asked God in the book of Genesis. Join us Sunday as we take a look at what Cain was really asking, what Jesus had to say about it, and how we can apply the answer today.
After Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden he immediately hid from God. Why? Why do we still hide from God today? Sunday morning Pastor Brian will take us through God’s interaction with Adam after the first sin. What can we learn about ourselves from this interaction? What can we learn about God?
When it comes to prayer are you ever unsure about how or what to pray? This Sunday, Barb Beard will be sharing a message entitled "A Prayer God Loves to Answer". In His Word God tells us the kind of prayers He delights in. He tell us that we can have confidence that He hears and answers those prayers. He also tells us the kind of prayers He doesn't answer. We will be looking at Pauls' prayers in Colossians 1:9-13 as an example of a prayer God loves to answer.
Following Jesus is difficult now but worth it in the light of eternity. Luke 9:23-27- In this passage we will see 3 conditions of following Jesus followed by 3 reasons it is worth it.
What can we learn from the questions people ask?Pastor Brian starts a new series called "First Questions". We will look at the first questions asked by three different people. This Sunday we will look at Satan’s question to Eve, “Did God actually say…….?” What does that question tell us? What can we learn?
Pastor Brian wraps up his Side by Side series with a message from Mark chapter 2. We will take a look at a story of some friends who wouldn’t give up.
When life is difficult and uncertain, our natural reaction is fear and worry. Hope is not easy to find, unless we look to God. Charles Spurgeon says, “God’s promises shine brightest in the furnace of affliction.” He was right! Just a word from God can transform our outlook and give us all we need to keep moving ahead with hope. This week, Barb Beard will share how we can fight for hope by asking God to do as He has promised.
I am a friend of God. He calls me friend. What do those lyrics really mean? What does that mean for me? This Sunday Pastor Brian will share from John 15. Join us as we continue to learn how we can walk side by side through life.
Pastor Brian continues the series Side by Side. Last week we took some time to look at what we are supposed to do if we have hurt someone else. This week we take some time to talk about what we are supposed to do if someone has hurt us. We will look at an often quoted passage from the Gospel of Matthew that isn’t always applied the way that Jesus said it should be.
This Sunday morning Pastor Brian starts a new series called Side by Side. We will spend time learning about what it means to walk side by side with each other in authentic community. Today, maybe more than ever, we need community and real relationships. Join us as we learn from Jesus a key component to real community.

Barb Beard will be sharing about the joy of being an ambassador for Christ. May we as a body be intent on our purpose of magnifying Jesus so that our neighbors will see how great He is!

The words panic, fear, uncertainty, and confusion have made it into news headlines a lot lately as we hear about coronavirus, tornadoes, and a falling stock market. Barb Beard shares about her experiences as she lived in Taiwan as a missionary. "Just weeks before we moved to Taiwan, our city was plagued with a dengue fever outbreak, and an earthquake that killed 143 people. Fear was overcoming me as we tried to deal with a constant sense of confusion from living in a foreign country. But God was faithful to show me how to be okay with being out of my comfort zone, and how to keep my heart from being ruled by fear. In His Word God has given us great promises to combat fear."
We look at the story of the Tower of Babel and how it relates to our lives, our church, and what God is challenging us to do.
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
There is a tendency among Christians to take ourselves way too seriously. For example, when we look at the calling of the disciples of Jesus, we tend to focus way too much on the disciple's faithfulness and not enough on Jesus. Jesus calls first, and then we answer.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jerimiah 1:5
Pastor Brian continues our discussion of the Holy Spirit and God’s presence. We will take a look at Acts 1:8 and the primary purpose of the Holy Spirit.
As we start a new year there are so many important topics to look at. With the year being 2020 it makes it easy to want to talk about vision and seeing clearly. You cannot see clearly or have correct vision without having the right foundation. This Sunday we will open up the new year by talking about the Holy Spirit. Jesus said to his followers that it was better if he went away because then the Holy Spirit could be released to us. What could be better than Jesus?
