A conflict usually occurs when there are incompatible positions ( what we say we want), interests ( what we really want) and needs ( what we must have). We need to dig deep to unveil the real issues.
How things look might not be what they really are. There is the story and then the story beneath the story. We look at conflicts and bickering in relationships. We explore the surface, what people say the bickering is about.
Many have a tendency to complain rather than make a request. It is therefore easier to blame, complain and criticise rather than risk being disappointed when we are told No. Behind every blame, there is a wish. There is however a better way to improve our chances of getting cooperation rather than indulging in the blame game dance that will guarantee we don't get. We discuss the XYZ model.
The Soulmate...the One. Our views on the soulmate is predicated on whether we learnt to be reliant on others or self reliant. Emotional dependency which stems from childhood becomes the root of placing our need for validation and purpose on others. Can anyone truly be everything? Can anyone guarantee they will always fill the void in our lives?
