Manila-based DJ and producer Pamcy has been making waves in the international music scene with her latest EP, ’Sauce Isle’, which is inspired by the sauces of different cuisines across Asia. She’s added some extremely vibrant flavour to the series this week with a house mix packed full of upbeat summery bangers. Featuring tracks from Lay-Far, Ryuta Muramatsu and Lovebirds, this is a mix that’ll leave you daydreaming about dancing into the early hours of the morning on warm Filipino coastlines. Prior to her incredible recent release through Jun Kamoda’s Jun Records we were overjoyed to hear Pamcy’s 2019 LP, 'BINIBINI' (the title is an old Filipino honorific term for women). In making the album, Pamcy drew inspiration from the everyday experiences, concepts, and objects that have shaped her identity and, on a larger scale, are cultural artefacts of femininity. Speaking in a recent interview with Mixmag, she explained: “Celebrating my identity as a Filipina is not something I deliberately try to do all the time, but I think all of my projects have that in common because everything that I make is rooted in my own reality and identity”. We’ll be waiting with eager anticipation for more sensational material from Pamcy in the future.

His latest EP, Dirty Bastard (Raw Poetry), showcases the artist’s versatility through a brilliant range of pounding breakbeat tunes. Amit Kedem has been active as a DJ and producer in Tel Aviv’s underground scene since 2017, focusing mostly on house music. He has a weekly residency at the Hive club, one of the most vibrant venues in the city. In 2020, he released two EP's on YSR records based in Berlin, the most recent being “Bring The Fun Back”. Even with the pandemic forcing club music out of their physical spaces, Amit has continued to brainstorm ideas for his production line “Discolor”, hosting international artists on their podcast series through SoundCloud. They look forward to making parties in the upcoming year as bars/clubs begin to reopen.

This mix is representative of Amit’s style, combining deep, melodic and House inspired elements to tell a personal story. He opens the mix by dropping an original forthcoming track in collaboration with Uriah Klapter.

Lithuanian, Vilnius-based Ramūnas aka midnattssoula has already done one mix for Clandestino mix series, but this was about 4 years ago and then he was working with another project. He's been running his own radio show/party series/record label Where Were We? for 3 years now and both Joe Morris and Nick Smith had a chance to be a part of this journey.

WWW just dropped its third release and this time it's featuring up-and-coming Frenchman Blaise Balda. There's also a remix pack coming mid-March from the likes of Romain FX, REES, Sauvage World (from Slow Motion fame), and Lithuanian Italo talent Black Feeling. Several of these tracks from both the original EP and a forthcoming remix pack is in the guest mix which showcases Ramunas' passion for more uptempo, dancefloor-oriented Italo house and synth-wave burners. It's totally OK to dance alone, it's time to heal your wounded soul! ; )

Hailing from Wigan via Manchester now based in London, Wes Baggaley can be found spinning his beloved vinyl regularly at Dalston Superstore and for RinseFM where he has hosted a monthly show since 2017. For years championing underground house, techno and electro on Manchester's gay clubbing circuit to middling returns, it was not until 2016 following succesful slots at Block9 and NYC Downlow at that year's Glastonbury that Wes started to get serious attention, gaining fans such as Hannah Holland and Prosumer who invited him to play at Panorama Bar and for Boiler Room. A glut of European and festival bookings quickly followed and Wes embarked on a new residency at Dalston Superstore as 'Bottom Heavy' with Dan Beaumont. His mix for us is a frantic session of searing electro cuts and industrial heavy jams.

The Prima Norsk Compilation is back with volume 5. Celebrating all things about Norwegian House scene, which is still very much on the front foot with help from 25 years of service from Beatservice Records. With no less than 14 tracks on this compilation, you'll be spoilt for choice. We've been listening to the strong 4x4 kick and shuffling percussion from Of Norway's 'Normal Eyes'. The party is certainly in the back room with this track. A warehouse bass line reminiscent of early Warp records takes the lead. With fluttering arpeggios eager to follow chasing up and down scales. In the break things go all wigged out, momentarily sidelined. Though you are back in the room when that driving bass kicks in with arpeggios in tow... eyes front, dancing till the early morn.

For this milestone 150th episode it's a pleasure to present a mix from Shinichiro Yokota. During the late 1980's and early 1990's, Shinichiro and his cohort Soichi Terada produced a raft of rare US inspired house music gems through their Far East Recordings label, that despite catching the attention of a certain Larry Levan didn't reach the wider audience they deserved. In 2016 Rush Hour unearthed many of these recordings, showcasing them on their 'Sounds From The Far East' compilation followed by Shinichiro's 'Do It Again And Again' album earning them a new legion of fans. His mix for us contains many of these classics and some newer material, a real treat

And so we come to our 100th episode. We have been lucky enough to have showcased some incredible mixes since we started; it's truly been a pleasure to feature established guests as well as giving a platform to lesser known names. For this milestone mix we always had a particular guest in mind and we're more than honoured they agreed to be a part of the series. Optimo's musical ethos bleeds into the way we approach all our musical endeavours, be it a club night, DJ set, the label or indeed a mix series. We often find ourselves difficult to explain musically, which in this day & age of everything having to sit in its own box can on occasion be a source of frustration. But then when you look at Optimo who constantly and succesfully champion just great music who cares about genres. It's a mantra that's hopefully mirrored across our mix series. This year Keith and Jonnie enter their 20th year with Optimo; more relevant than ever with their exciting, eclectic DJ performances around the globe. Keith's two labels Optimo Music and Optimo Trax are garnered to shining a light on new and unusual music both for the club and beyond. Thanks to Keith for putting this edition together and thanks to you , dear listener for being on the journey with us. Much love, Clandestino x

Their second EP drops in the new year from our good friend Chris Massey which promises some hefty collaborations. Keep 'em peeled. Their mix for us showcases sounds that will they tell us will shape the label. Enticing...

Since 2011 Duke Slammer has released a highly collectable series of 7” vinyl and even a gold cassette championing a sound that's heavily laced with moog bass, wonky drums and wiggly worm synth lines with funk always firmly on the agenda. His current release 'Bangkok Skytrain' on the excellent Cosmic Pint Glass label is an ass-shaking box jam made purely for thick smoked dark rooms pierced by green lazers. Look out for follow ups coming out soon some of which are included included in the mix.

Surprisingly we'd not yet showcased a mix from Heretic but all good things come to those who wait and suffice to say it does not disappoint. Heretic surfaced around two years ago with well received releases on Relish, Days Of Being Wild and Throne of Blood. His recent 'Pollux' single caused a splash with killer a remix from Lord Sabre himself, and forthcoming tracks on Tusk/Porn Wax and a really cool EP in collaboration with Buran on Beachcoma are well worth picking up

By far one of our favourite producer’s of 2015 has been A Vision Of Panorama. A string of mouthwatering EP’s for Aficianado, Music For Dreams and his own Mellophonia label, under which guise he’s put together this gorgeous mix, have become essential. His ‘Paradisica’ 12″ is out this week with a great Pete Herbert remix, and the next A Vision Of Panorama EP ‘Two Birds’ will follow on October 19th. Welcome one of Europe's brightest new talents to the Clandestino series. Poznan's Selvy belongs to a new breed of producers emerging from the so-called Polo House and Baltic Beat scene; a talented group of heroes turning out high quality, yet quirky underground dance music; often with exotic, tropical sensibilities and raw, dusty production values that are appearing on Poland's Transatlantyk and The Very Polish Cut Outs imprints. Selvy's 'Compass' EP is one of the highlights of the year; forthcoming remixes for Khidja on Emotional Especial and more killer tracks slated for TVPCO and Maciek Sienkiewicz's Father & Son Records & Tapes label should seal him as a name for the future

It's always nice when folks get in touch with us to share music and it's even better when the music turns out to be great, as is the case when SHMLSS sent us this mix. Bart van Manen & Michiel Lancee are the vinyl loving duo behind it; steadily plying their trade in Utrecht and Amsterdam, curating their own vision of underground, electronic music which has glorious shades of disco through to Detroit influences. Their mix is a heady journey though Afro, Balearica, retro soaked house numbers & strung out emotive tech cuts which seriously left us wanting more. Scotland has long been a hot bed for underground electronic music; they really know their stuff up there and plying their trade longer than most are respected DJs and promoters Steve Cass & Justin Wilson with their No Strings Attached parties. Now in their 20th year the list of guests appearing alongside them is endless and the longevity of NSA is down to them constantly pushing their sound and bringing back the artists they personally like to hear. Based in Galashiels, south of Edinburgh the duo use a small basement in their local football club with a capacity of only 120. Guests have included Andrew Weatherall, Slam, Ivan Smagghe and Justin Robertson and they have also hosted numerous parties in the Scottish capital including A Love From Outer Space. We've been pestering Craig for a mix ever since we started the podcast 3 years ago and we'd abandoned all hope of getting something from him so imagine our surprise when we awoke one morning to find this sitting pretty in our inbox. Scott's 'Life Of Silence' 12" on Weatherall's Bird Scarer imprint in our opinion was the best thing committed to vinyl in 2012, and his releases on World Unknown and Astro Lab are straight up killer. Here Scott has put together a two hour live mix which he promises contains lots of exclusives from the bunker personnel.

Our second guest podcast comes live and direct from Paris in the form of Laurent Pastor who heads up one of our favourite imprints Astro Lab Recordings. It’s a label with an edge, heavy on electronics and atmosphere which is how we like it. Since its beginnings six years ago its showcased output from Timothy J Fairplay, Sean Johnston, Scott Fraser and Mugwump and this month sees the release of their ‘Treasure Hunting’ compilation featuring unreleased cuts from Toby Tobias, Daniel Avery, DJ KAOS, Raudive and many others. Laurent’s regular Astro Lab radio shows are essential listening so it was only natural we asked him to put together an exclusive mix for us. Enjoy
