In Romans 11, the apostle Paul continued to make his case that God will keep His promises with the Jews. They rejected Jesus and now because of that rejection, salvation is offered to all who will believe. However, God has a plan to restore them and we have a part in that plan.

These verses are an expansion of one phrase in Romans 4:17, "who gives life to the dead." Paul saw the rejuvenation of Abraham's body as a picture of resurrection from the dead, and then he related it to the resurrection of Christ. Paul moves from the emphasis on our vertical relationship to God to our horizontal relationship with other brothers and sisters.
