This Season 3 Finale episode looks at top episodes for the year, the most ticked and most ticked-off episode, and revisits some funny moments while interviewing motivating and driven individuals. Consider it an “End of Year” letter from Ticked. Most importantly, thank you for sparking creativity and passion within us. We’ll see you next year for Ticked Season 4.

Ryan, or RyBay, or Baylis, is an extreme go-getter and entrepreneur. Jack of all trades and master of none who lives for the tangible memories, and designs the tangible products to sell consumers. He’s learned the hard way that late nights lead to success, that travel anxiety is a real thing, and that going all-in on an unknown project leads to exponential growth in mentality and abilities.
This week’s guest: A throwback of sorts with the hosts – Ben brings Lib back to the studio to record a stoppage time all about Stress. Symptoms and solutions. Tick offs and ticks. We sit back, relax, and identify the one TICK we celebrate and amplify to get us through those situations in which our procrastinated efforts surface. What’s your 1 TICK that carries you through?
Kat is a mother of two beautiful girls, married to her best friend and partner, and the Chief Experience Officer at Degreed. She builds solutions in the software space and lives a goal-oriented, principle-based life. Maybe that’s because she grew up on a ranch? She’s a builder at heart, an achiever, and an executive ticked off by repetitive, unnecessary noises. Stop clicking your pen!
Katherine is the Historical Director at Better Days 2020, a Utah Women’s History non-profit organization honoring the Suffrage anniversaries in the next year. She spent formidable years in Germany, seeing a world and a way of life outside of the familiar. Learning about world history and feeling a personal connection to the past has been an important element through her entire life and dictates her current pursuits. It is through learning history that we learn to empathize.
Chris Jordan is a full-time cinematographer, a job that can be very exciting at times and rather difficult at times. When he’s not peering through the lens, he’s mindful of creating peace in his life despite a rocky path. Seeing the world as it is, and what it could be, is his television set. And finding joy in hardships really makes him tick.
Ryan Barclay – a financial consultant and corporate trainer who’s not afraid to ask the simple questions everyone else avoids to arrive at complex answers. He’s driven by an overwhelming thirst for knowledge, and with a little comedy, distills the complex into simple terms even c-suite executives can understand. Be advised, Ryan has misophonia, so avoid chewing your popcorn too loud when you’re sitting next to him at the movies. But you didn’t hear that from us.
...and we’re back! Ticked took a summer break from recording episodes to work behind the scenes. We’re used to summer breaks, it’s nothing new. Primetime television takes summer breaks. Your kids take summer break. In this laid-back stoppage time, we share updates and ticks around the fall media landscape.
Colin is a professional blackjack card counter, an occupation he landed on after combining his math degree with a book he read at Bible Camp. He provides training, resources, and a community for card counters through his online program, Blackjack Apprenticeship – teaching others to think like an investor, not a gambler, and that blackjack, unlike every other casino game, is a strategy where past events actually impact future outcomes. Live your life transformational, not transactional, and look forward to future outcomes with hard work.
Salenta is a mother, entrepreneur, energy psychology practitioner, and love coach. She assists men, women, and couples to identify and release limiting beliefs, patterns, and mindsets to instead live from love and be more connected to themselves, their partners, and their higher power. By clearing up triggers that impede deep connection, she helps couples connect more intimately through both sacred approaches and technical tips. The masculine still leads the feminine when you’re both aligned and safe. And it starts with talking about it more openly.
Tennille is the head trainer at OrangeTheory Fitness in Draper, UT where she coaches groups of people to live their best lives by motivating them through daily workouts. She’s starting to host fitness retreats, encouraging everyone to “Move with Purpose, Live with Purpose,” and she’s a member of the WISH society. At her core, you’ll find people and relationships, helping others through the hard times – whether that’s through grief or through a workout. Sometimes at the same time. At the very definition, she is a ticked person, and we can’t wait for you to hear our conversation.
Ben and Curtis explore the ticks and tick offs around Customer Care in this week’s stoppage time episode. Ben recently had a service appointment for his car where stated expectations were clearly not met. Curtis wrestled through customer loyalty negotiations to receive a new member discount for a loyal customer. We offer our key takeaways for outstanding customer service, regardless of the side of the phone from which you’re calling. And be warned, you’ll be hearing from us on YELP!
EJ is the frontman to the band, Foreign Figures. A lyricist who spent a considerable amount of time releasing the secrets of his heart through music. But with the power of vulnerability and continually striving to feel heard, this accomplished pianist has found “the thing” that makes him feel special, important, and alive. He gives it all on the stage, and then kicks back and falls asleep reading while recovering.
Mark drives the Arizona roads convertible-style, takes his family on month-long road trips, and coaches high performing teams to be happier. He empowers people through a coaching process and hates it when they ask for the recipe, and helps them get un-stuck from mediocrity. He’s an always entrepreneur, a dreamer, and one who lives with a simple idea: Don’t do what everyone else does, strive to see the world and your situation from a different view.
Chris takes risks when faced with problems to get around it and find out more about himself, accepting failure as a learning option. And when meeting you, he asks searching questions like, “What’s the best thing that happened to you today?” to move past the small talk and make that exchange memorable. He loves pringles but hates their packaging. He’s impatient, he moves with purpose, and he’s a serial entrepreneur building and creating two businesses.
This week’s guest - Ben and Curtis. In this Stoppage Time episode, we bring in a few opinions from listeners on what’s making them tick or ticking them off right now. We cover productivity apps, apple events, and nit-picky organization tips. What’s making us tick right now? Supporting and investing in the accomplishments of others, and the reward that has for one’s own soul.
This week’s guest: Steve Michels, drummer for the band Foreign Figures. And being a drummer was something that naturally took place in his life, rhythm and melody are his hooks. He started when he was 9, was the front man (and back man) for a cover band in high school, and started Foreign Figures with his brother. He follows his heart while focusing on the things that bring life and happiness. You should follow suit.
This week’s guest: Brooklyn Parks – She who passed up an earlier interest in Biology to become a starving artist – except she’s got it figured out. This week’s guest: Curtis Anderson – Entrepreneur of an IT services agency and a nurse staffing agency and former sports desk news intern. Stick around for the whole episode to hear a few final ticks and tick offs from Lib and Dalton.
This week’s guest: Scott Needham – Took his family business and built two tech companies serving Amazon sellers and brands. This former mom and pop shop currently provides the largest selection of products in the Amazon Prime program in the nation. With two computer engineering degrees, he’s analyzing consumer data, trends, and shipping all the stress to fulfillment centers while creating time to run marathons.
This week’s guest: Lib, Ben and Dalton – It’s a Stoppage Time episode where the hosts sit back, relax, and discuss a topic that has us ticking. When was a time in your life when you felt like you’d made it as an adult? When were you punched in the face with adult life? As you grow up, what are you holding onto from your younger years, what are you letting go, and what are you working toward? We go the rounds on health, finance, hobbies, purchases, and future outlooks. “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
This week’s guest: Kate Hansen – Recruited at the ripe old age of 10 to compete in Luge competitions which took her to Sochi in 2014. #olympics. She retired at 21, enrolled in college, travels on her motorcycle, and is now pursuing a career in personal training and holistic medicine for athletes. Pepper in sports broadcasting and correspondence with Jimmy Kimmel, and you’ve got Kate.
This week’s guest: Ben Cook – A passionate businessman who’s experienced the world. Grew up in Athens, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, attended college in Utah, then career carried him to Ohio, Nashville, Texas, and back to Utah. This week’s guest: Ticked Hosts – We kick off season three with a stoppage time episode where Lib gives us the update we’ve all been hanging on for, and we talk about the road ahead. We look back on that fateful day at Este Pizzeria when Lib told us he was leaving the podcast in pursuit of developing other passions. And we talk about our ticks and tick offs around the theme: What’s the ONE THING you learned about yourself in 2018 and how are you using that in 2019?
This week’s guest: Ticked Hosts – It’s a stoppage time, and our season 2 finale. Season TWO! We take a step back, enjoy a few Hot ‘n Spicy’s, and reflect on the year’s best episodes. This week’s guest: Lindsay Eagar – a critically acclaimed author of three novels. She considers herself a natural-born “Slytherin” with ambition and ethics as values. When she’s not writing you’ll find her with her family and most likely baking. And most importantly - keeping the crumbs out of the butter.
This week’s guest: Seth Dunshee – Utah native, musician, and member of the band, Foreign Figures. Part 1 of a 4-Part Ticked series, we’re interviewing each member of the band as they are releasing new music. The band, by nature, is a collaborative effort – each member plays significant roles beyond their specific instrument. They’ve likened themselves unto the group dynamics of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, all children of the 90s, all bringing their unique perspectives and leadership.
This week’s guest: Lib Montoya – regularly a host of Ticked, Lib takes over the guest mic to discuss his ticks and tick offs. Originally from Arizona, he’s starting to call Utah home where he currently works as the Art Director for a marketing agency in Salt Lake, but he’s not so much a fan of titles. Or bumper stickers. Or messy yards. He’s a cancer survivor – currently three years in remission, a loyal friend, and creative AF.
This week’s guest: Madison Heap – While studying Broadcast Journalism in college, “Mads” needed a passionate project for her resume to fill in the gap from a summer internship. That passion project has turned into a full-time news outlet that recaps the day’s most important news in a minute while not being confusing, depressing, or biased. Minute with Mads makes the news more simple to understand and a lot easier to stomach.
This week’s guest: Ashley Hatch – Professional soccer player in the NWSL (currently on the Washington Spirit squad), fellow Arizonian, and Rookie of the Year recipient. One thing you’ll love about Ashley right off the bat is that she grew up learning and progressing through soccer, she wasn’t born with a ball at her feet. She pushed her ability at every stage, and even off the field had to email recruiters and invite them to her tournaments. Ben and Lib saw her play in Utah for the US Women’s National Team, saw the inspiration she was for all aspiring soccer fans at that game, and knew she had to be on Ticked.
This week’s guest: Braydon Ball - photographer for Maverik, Adventure’s First Stop. Braydon loves experiencing life. This week’s guest – Lib and Ben. It’s a stoppage time, where the hosts kick back, relax, and pick a theme that has us ticking. This week: Junk food, which could include gas station food, unhealthy food, road trip food, and everything in-between. We talk ticks and tick offs around chips, pastries, beverages, candy, and candy bars (those two are different). We may argue a little over candy posters and Halloween traditions, and you’re all sweet tarts!
This week’s guest: Tyler Howells - founder and president of Cozy Earth, a premium luxury bed linens brand. Basically, he helps people have the best sleep ever and works directly with bamboo harvesters in China. This was all made possible by knowing Mandarin (just imagine a 6” 3” white guy speaking Mandarin) and loving the culture. Tyler focuses on not getting too high, or getting too low. Life is about how you handle the universe. He wants to help others fulfill their potential as he fulfills his own and enjoying the journey, because you will never “reach” your destination.
This week’s guest: Ben Croshaw, an instructional designer, film fanatic, and RSL season ticket holder. Ben, or “Crosh,” hosts a podcast, sings, attempts to play the piano, and will defend the luxury loungers at Cinemark ’til the day he dies. Ben lives by his theme: classic | creative | professional | simple – it guides his work, his design inspiration and output, and even his ticks and tick offs. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and if you’re not sticking your neck out every once in a while, you’re not doing your job.
This week’s guest – Brady and Megan Parks from The National Parks band. Brady is the frontman, and Megan backs him up on a mean violin. Originally forming in 2013, the band has been through a couple talent changes, but after hearing Brady and Megan’s love story, it sounds like those two are committed. We cover skiing, allergies, spirit food, man colds, air hand-dryers, and band names. They’ve toured all throughout the US, but “At The Heart,” Rexburg, ID will always be one of their most special “Places.”
This week’s guest: Marc LeFevre - A sports and outdoors fanatic who started his career with an aerospace company but quickly realized that he wanted to help people do more. A few resume edits turned him into a career consultant and now COO of Promoted. He spends his time helping others value themselves better just don’t tell him that he stole your idea.
This week’s guest: Adam Turley – Singer-songwriter and Music Producer who’s been chasing his dreams since he didn’t impress a high school crush. He’s impressed a lot of people now, and during the episode we get a behind the scenes look, including lyrical meaning and song-writing process, into his most recently released single, “It’s Alright.”
This week’s guest: Patrick Donohoe – a native of Connecticut who, you could say, “Got in with the right crowd” after moving to Utah. He now owns several businesses, hosts a financial wealth podcast, and recently wrote a book. Beyond his professional life, Pat lives with a mentality of “If you have something of value that can benefit someone else, figure out a way to give it to them,” and has graciously opened his studio doors to the Ticked Team.
This week’s guest: Ben, Dalton and Lib - We take a break from our regular guest routine and pinpoint certain tick offs we individually have. Although negative, these tick off come from a good place. We dissect what normally is a negative and pesky outlook; and try to convince one another to see the glass half full.
This week’s guest, Jason and Kelsey – serial entrepreneurs who kick-start their creative ideas through dedication, sweat, and – maybe, tears. Each of them run their own business, then started dating and decided to start a business together, Dorai Home. Eco friendly and organic, this idea mapped well to their personality traits and has become so much more than a successfully-funded kickstarter campaign. Creating happier, healthier homes through natural approaches, in two words: Diatomaceous earth.
This week’s guest: Breea and Cody - traveling filmmakers and content creators helping people capture and remember important, emotional moments. Breea was inspired by her grandfather to pick up a camera and start shooting. Then, Cody came into the picture and helped take the business to the next level. They wake up early, love going to new places together but one of the two lives their life by the motto, “I’m not cheap, I’m thrifty”.
This week’s guest, Rachel Kirkham – college soccer player turned business owner and trainer for young girls. Rachel trains like a girl, and inspires young athletes to take risks and progress, mentally and physically. If she can’t figure out how to do something, she gets mad, then figures it out. Simple, right?
We take Ticked on the road this week to explore weddings. Specifically, Dalton’s Wedding. From Bridesmaid Dresses to quiet photographers and from wedding food savories to reuniting with high school buddies, we talk ticks and tick offs with wedding guests. This episode has all the feels, as a wedding should. So, kick off your high heels, dance like no one is watching, and stay ticked.
This week’s guest: Quinn Nelson - A YouTuber that has been creating videos for 10 years. His entrepreneur spirit has helped him sell three business in his teens while running the “Snazzy Labs” channel that helps people not only how they may fix their tech device, but come away learning how things work. Quinn is one to share his knowledge with others at no cost and only a friendly reminder to stay snazzy.
This week’s guest, Francisco Terreros – Chief Marketing Officer and FIFA Player Agent for SBX Group. “Cisco” represents professional footballers on and off the field, be it contracts, endorsements, and career growth. He also represents the American Dream, a son of Colombian immigrant parents experiencing true culture shock coming to Utah. He’s always thinking of the end goal, and finding ways to have fun in every single aspect of his yellow personality life.
This week’s guests: Eric Woodyard - beat writer for the Utah Jazz who proudly hails from Flint, Michigan. Flint is considered one of America’s poorest or most violent cities, but he believes in that if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. Basketball and home are some ticks that remind him to stay positive and give back daily. He loves spending time with family and friends but if you have him over, just make sure you give him a heads up if you have any pets at home, especially cats…
This week’s guest: Your hosts. We take a break from our regular guest routine and talk through our ticks involving technology. Let’s face it, it’s a big part of our lives. It’s 2018 and there’s a lot of technology out there surrounding our abilities. But with great technology comes great responsibility to know when to use it, and when to put it away and connect with people.
This week’s guests: Daniel Haslam - a social media specialist who helps companies use data and analytics to be able to help markets move. So, if you think that your tweet about a certain restaurant and tagging your friend won’t be seen by anyone, think again. Daniel helps gather all the metadata behind these posts. He believes in using technology for good and has even been able to turn a Twitter troll into a real-life friend.
Jorrien and Tiera Peterson are past guests of Ticked (Episode 61) and have set out on a mission to redesign Salt Lake City’s Flag. And they need our help. Lib and Ben talk about three things you can do to help them. 1) Get Educated - check out the TED talk by Roman Mars called, “Why City Flags may be the Worst-Designed thing you’ve Never Noticed,” (linked in the episode 61 show notes on tickedpodcast.com). 2) Follow their design quest on Instagram, @slcflag. 3) Sign their petition on their website (link provided in their Instagram profile).
This week’s guest: Carla Swensen-Haslam – a native Utahn with dual-citizenship, Carla grew up playing soccer on the fields of the Wasatch Mountains and the pitches of Columbia’s U20 National Team. Time is a “tick” and if you tell them that you don’t have time, they might have you take out your phone and check how many hours you spend on social media.
You don't have to like sports to enjoy an event like the World Cup. The world unites, admires the play of athletes on the pitch and we all celebrate when any team scores! You may root against one country one match and find yourself wanting them to win the next. Today we talk about the FIFA World Cup. Ben and Lib are joined by two specials guests as they make their predictions for the tournament, share a special announcement for 2026 (you heard it right) and share why they love this event that graces us once every four years. Goooooooooooooool!
This week’s guest: Morgan Jones – a journalist, blogger, story-teller, and young single woman. A native of North Carolina and foodie of all things NOT southern, Morgan manages the Faith content at Deseret News and thrives on belief. Keep your headlines honest, and your hair out of her food!

Let’s make things clear - Ben loooves summer and Lib sees the duality of the season. So take some time off, kick back with us and sip on some lemonade as we talk about our ticks and tick-offs of the dog days.
Did you miss us this week? We did too. We had a technology glitch and lost an interview. So, this Out-Tick expresses our tick-offs with technology glitches and linked files. But we're back in full production and hopefully this "Behind the Scenes" look will hold you over until next Tuesday, when episode 66 will be released. In the meantime, #stayticked.

He’s managed hotel bars, been a professional photographer, a barber apprentice in Whales, a nanny in Paris, a laundry deliveryman in New York…he’s a friend who we’ve coined as “The World’s Most Interesting Man.” Kristopher claims he’s just relatable and caring. Just remember, if you say something bad about him, he might jot down some notes for his rebuttal.

He’s a “swiss army knife” when it comes to guiding people on outdoor adventures to help eliminate the intimidating factor that outdoor marketing can sometimes place on us. Don't forget...tell all your friends!

As she’s grown (personally & professionally), she’s learned to divert from the safe and comfortable path to find her own greatness! She struggles with “imposter syndrome” but loves helping others overcome it. And side note, make sure you don’t deflect her questions.
This week’s guest: Michael Langford – a seasoned Criminal Defense Lawyer in Salt Lake City who’s passionate about skiing, ultra marathons, rock climbing...basically anything that presents a physical and mental challenge. Believe me, he’s tested mentally everyday at the office, and balances that out through physical toughness tests nearly every weekend.
This week’s guest: Brittney Nielsen – a writer, blogger, actor, artist, and walking rolodex of literary quotes. She thrives on thinking about what not a lot of others think about, and then bringing that to life to challenge perspectives. She’s eccentric and embracive of those ticks that may threaten others but helps her frame her reality.

We then learn why this holiday is such a double edge sword, full of Ticks and Tick Offs.
This week’s guest: RSL Tailgaters – those RioT’ers who stand up, #AsOne, and #Believe. Ben and Lib head out of the studio and visit fans on their turf. It’s MLS Decision Day where the top 6 teams in both conferences advance to the playoffs, and the other 4 are left watching from their flat-screens. RSL must face Sporting KC - and we’re not sure if it’s the players or the fans that hate this rivalry more.

This week’s guest: Russ Dixon – a photographer, videographer, and music producer who earned his street cred performing behind the mic and in front of the camera. Discover what makes this witty, OCPD, lover of sports and law analyst tick.

Listen and learn how you are only as good as the people you can surround yourself with. Tell all your friends to subscribe and leave us a review on iTunes!
It’s another stoppage time, where we deviate from the guest template and discuss the ticks and tick offs of money and finances. What was Lib’s dumbest purchase? What happened to Ben during his financial “wake-up” call? And, as we discuss our first jobs, which one of us was “bah-da-dah-da-dah...lovin’ it” while the other one was buh-buh-bratty? Subscribe on iTunes and leave us a review!
This week's guest: Dalton Brough – A college student with more drive than the lead singer of Brand New writing a breakup song.
