Worship is more than music, prayers, or the time we spend at Mass each weekend; it is the response of our whole lives to the presence and love of God. In this series, we will explore what it means to be people who are truly made for worship. Worship begins when we encounter the risen Jesus and recognize who he is, and through the power of the Holy Spirit our worship comes alive and transforms our hearts. As we grow in faith, we discover that worship flows from the love of the Trinity and reaches its fullest expression in the Eucharist, where we receive the living presence of Christ. From that encounter, we are sent into the world to live lives of love, service, and mission, discovering that worship is not just something we attend, but something we become.

Join us for Week 4 of our message series “Dangerous Prayers” given by Fr. Michael White. Prayer is typically seen by many Catholics as a good thing…but perhaps not a necessary or even effective thing. Often we say our prayers (when we say our prayers) and hope for the best, rather like the role of dice. Other times it is more wishful thinking than anything else. And, of course, when all else fails it becomes our last resort…”now, all we can do is pray.” But what if we have been selling prayer short? What if we don’t pray fully because we’re afraid it actually will work? In focused, intentional, and God honoring prayer we can actually connect with the power that created the heavens and the earth, the power greater than every other. In prayer we meet this same God and draw upon his power.
