Good Morning, good morning, good morning!
I am tired, and I was just about to call it to quit. Yup, I was going to give it all up. Preaching, Studying, Praying, Churching, Pastoring. I am exhausted. It seems like nothing is clicking. Just tired.
Yesterday I was in the yard cleaning some fallen leaves and listing to some music and this scripture was being sung: This poor man cried to the Lord and the Lord heard him and saved him from all his trouble!
That was all it took for me to renege on my quit!
Standing in the yard with that blower going and music in my ear I heard Holy Spirit say, "You have not talked to me about any of this. Sean, the problem is that you are trying to handle all of this on your own. You are not consulting with me about any of the stuff you are dealing with." I said to Holy Spirit, I am just frustrated, I am just tired. He told me, "The only way that you will find rest is to come to me. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST (renewal, blessed quiet) FOR YOUR SOULS."
As you go throughout your day today remember these things. Number one, Holy Spirit is here for you. He is here to help you out of all your troubles. Number two, your salvation, your freedom, your deliverance is just one scream away!
Father God, creator of all, and most importantly creator of us we ask that you will show us how to take our burdens, our cares, and our concerns to you and really leave them with you. Thank you in advance for what you are doing in our lives. Thank you for hearing our individual screams! And, Abba, thank you for saving us from ourselves!
1 Peter 5:6-8
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time, 7 casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. 8 Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], and be alert and cautious at all times. VULNERABLE TO VICTORY
- We were POWERLESS to alter our circumstance
- Jesus became the PROPITIATION for our sin! He stood in the gap for us because we could not.
- Jesus' blood PARDONED us from the stain of sin, guilt, and shame! Hallelujah! Because of His blood and his sacrifice all charges were dropped against us!
- GRACE! The PRICELESS GIFT that was given to us! Thank you God for your gift of GRACE!
But the free gift [of God] is not like the trespass [because the gift of grace overwhelms the fall of man]. For if many died by one man’s trespass [Adam’s sin], much more [abundantly] did God’s grace and the gift [that comes] by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to [benefit] the many.

It’s In the Promise:
Peace with God
Romans 5:1-5
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
How do you obtain PEACE with God? First, you need to understand what PEACE is. Peace is a state of tranquility, exempt from the rage and havoc of war. It is security, safety, prosperity, and contentedness. When we have Jesus Christ in our life we operate in peace. This however does not mean that there will be an absence of conflict. It simply means that you will not be affected by the circumstances going on around you.
With a quick unconcerned look at the lead scripture, we see that the Apostle Paul reminds us of the celebratory stance that we should take when life’s issues, concerns, and challenges come upon us. He outlines that with every tribulation we grow. It sort of reminds me of the childhood song that I would sing, “We are climbing Jacob’s ladder, every rung goes higher and higher.”
When we decide to grow in our relationship we are constantly bettering ourselves. So you see it is in the promise, that we have peace with God.
Pray:
God, I am well aware that life will give challenges and question our peace. But today God we are glad to declare that because of your word, because of our faith in you, and in your word, we have peace with God. Thank you for being a God who can never ever lie. Thank you for your Grace. Thank you for tribulation, perseverance, hope, and love, which ultimately bring about the Peace of God.

One of the misconceptions about Christianity is that you must change who you are to become part of the family of God; after all that is what being a Christian is, being part of God's family. More than you changing, God is looking for your belief in him and what he says. Abram (The Father is Exalted) was a man God called to go. "Go Where," you ask? Just go. So what did he do, he went, at 75 years old he went in his old age when we would call our life almost over he listened and believed God, and his belief was counted unto him as righteousness. God accepted Abram just the way he was. It was after his encounter with the almighty God that Abram's name was changed to Abraham (The Father of many nations). When you have an encounter with God he will step in and change your life. He will give you purpose, promise, and a plan. But you must BELIEVE in order to be counted righteous. No matter how shattered you think your life may be, God loves you and he wants you to be part of his family, just the way you are. Do not try and change, but allow Holy Spirit to take residence in your life and give you the strength to make the changes he wants to make in you. You have a purpose brother, and God has a plan for you. Live your life the full today and believe in God!

I am a massive fan of Game of Thrones an HBO series about power struggles between kingdoms in a mythical time and realm. In one episode a woman who was evil at her core and would stop at nothing to be the leader of the kingdom was led down a street naked and shamed for her crimes and misdeeds according to the religious sect within the kingdom. As she walked the crowd threw rotten food and cried “SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!” Needless to say, it was a powerful message of how religion can derail from its core values of love, patience, hope, and peace. This was all done to create a feeling of humiliation for this woman, it was to create a loss of respect for someone who at one time was held in high esteem. It was used to reprove her of her behavior.
In the scripture today Paul, an Apostle of the early Church, makes this statement; “I am no longer asked of the gospel of Jesus Christ, it the good news, the Grace of God is the power of salvation to everyone who believes. For me, this indicates that Paul felt shame about preaching the message at one time. Remember, Paul was a convert. He initially preached against the gospel message and persecuted the men and women who believed. It was not until he had an experience with Jesus that he realized that he was on a losing side. The scriptures give us no indication of how long it took for Paul to be able to preach the gospel without being ashamed, however, it happened.
Here is the promise: this Grace that we preach, this Gospel that we teach and live and share is the power of salvation. This salvation is not just for ourselves, it is for the entire world! Forever many, humans will believe.
It is not our promise, nor our POWER to divide God’s salvation to whom we want to. It is HIS to give freely to all who believe. I am reminded of the scripture that says while we were all in our sin God showed us (humans) great mercy and send his Son, Christ to die for us in our place. (Romans 5:8)
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 4:25
He was derived over to death for our trespasses and was raised to life for our justification.
Romans 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will he not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?

I Am Alive

Ephesians 2: 4-10
But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
For by Grace we have been saved! Seven of the most powerful words ever penned. Today I shout with a loud and vibrant voice Thank You Jesus for GRACE! If it were not for Grace, I would not be alive today. I would have died in my sin and I would have died in my flesh, but because the Grace of God was there to pull me out when I did not know that I was down in the midst of a great pit, I am alive today! Hallelujah thank you Jesus!
If it sounds like I am excited it is because I am. Apostle Paul reminds us of the person, the purpose and the power of Grace. Because of Grace we have been made to come alive with Christ. What does this mean for us? It means that we walk, talk, operate, and navigate with the power and presence of Christ in our life.
As you navigate through you life remember that YOU are seated in heavenly places with Jesus Christ! Always remember who you are and in whom you believe. Because of the power of your belief you are save by GRACE.

Ezekiel 37:1-10

However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is [d]alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies [e]through His Spirit who dwells in you.

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
When we live on this earth we all know that death is coming. No doubt no matter how young, we have all been touched by death in some fashion. The promise of God is that when we walk with him there is life. Life, real and genuine, active and vigorous, devoted to God, blessed; life one who is animated and full of vitality. The Bible teaches “The thief comes only to steal kill and destroy, but I have come to give life and that more abundantly.” You and me, we have life if we are in Christ Jesus.
Here is the great thing about this promise it not only promises us life in the earth realm, but it also promises life eternal. Some days when I am in my thinking stages I ask myself, what’s it all for? I am reminded that while living in this sphere with vitality and vigor I have a promise. I have been promised a building, a home, a body, an eternity that has not been made with the hands of man, but by God.
Here are the points brothers, live for today and know that your tomorrow has been taken care of. There is a promise of life now and in the afterlife. I have a life and existence filled with the promise of the presence of God. Resting and residing in a place of praise and worship eternally.
So do not get frustrated with your current home. We live on purpose on purpose, for God’s plan. It will be alright!

It’s In The Promise:
The Promise of Power
John 14:15-18
“If you love me, obey me; and I will ask the Father and he will give you another Comforter, and he will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit who leads into all truth. The world at large cannot receive him, for it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you do, for he lives with you now and someday shall be in you. No, I will not abandon you or leave you as orphans in the storm—I will come to you.
In the book of John Jesus is having a discussion with his disciples, more specifically the inner circle of his disciples; understand that Jesus traveled with a whole lot of people, but not everyone was allowed in the inner circle. Jesus was speaking of his end. His ultimate demise at the hands of those who he came to save.
It is ironic that we can be crucified by people who we will ultimately save. Here is the lesson in that. Know your assignment and stay the course. Never let anyone or anything knock you off your course. If you get tired, rest, if you get weary regroup, but for the salvation of those to who you have been assigned NEVER QUIT!
So here is Jesus telling his disciples, who he has come to love and they have come to love, honor, and respect this wise young man. Holy Spirit just dropped this in my spirit. Many who were disciples of Jesus were older than him. Remember he was only 30 years old when his ministry started and only 33 when it was over.
So, Jesus, Thomas, and Philip are going back and forth about Jesus leaving and they don't totally understand what was going to happen when he left. You see the disciples looked to Jesus as a savior of the body only and not the spirit and the soul. It was their understanding that Jesus was going to raise up an army of like-minded people and overthrow the government and restore Israel to its former glory. Here is the takeaway, Jesus did not come into our lives to restore us to OUR former glory, but He came into our lives to show us HIS Glory! Because the reality is that without Jesus in our lives we were mere shells of flesh, bone, and sinew with no life in it. Our lives could have been compared to the Valley of Dry Bones that the prophet Ezekiel spoke of, “A great company of bones, and they were very dry and lifeless.” Without Christ, we would be nothing but dry lifeless bones. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) Jesus came so we can do greater works than the works that he had done. (John 14:12)
What is the greater work? It is the work of evangelism, it is the work of spreading the gospel of Jesus throughout the world, the greater work of sharing the gospel of Grace, displaying the Love of Jesus. This is the greater work. Jesus knew that he had to die. He knew that he was in an earthly body and he had to die. If was at age 33 for age 133 he knew that eventually, his earthly body would have to cease to exist. Here is the JOY is Jesus, he said to his disciples and says to us today, I will pray to the father that he will send you a helper, a comforter, someone who will stand alongside you, one who will guide you throughout the various phases and stages of your life. In Greek the word Comforter is transliterated as: Called to one’s aid, a pleader, counsel for the defense, legal assistant, an advocate. In the widest sense, a helper, aider, or assistant. The Holy Spirit is destined to take the place of Christ with the apostles to lead them into a deep er knowledge of the gospel truth, and give the divine strength needed to enable them to undo trials and persecutions on behalf of the divine kingdom.
If you don’t get anything else from our time today, get this: YOU ARE NEVER LEFT ALONE! God is with you He is with you in your trials, he is with you in your testing and He is with you in your triumphs. You are never left alone. It’s in the promise.

God is Faithful
DEUTERONOMY 7:7-11
“The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any of the peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but because the Lord loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the Lord brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments; but repays those who hate Him to their faces, to destroy them; He will not delay with him who hates Him, He will repay him to his face. Therefore, you shall keep the commandment and the statutes and judgments I am commanding you today to do them.
You are chosen! In a world of people, in a universe of species God, the everlasting maker of the heavens and the earth chooses you. We often overlook the fact that with the millions of humans on the earth God looked into t sea of us and choose us for his handiwork. The bible says “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them”. You have been chosen and you are special to God!
You are redeemed! Redemption is the process of being vindicated, atoned for, retrieved exchanged. God wants you to know that he is The Faithful God who has redeemed you. The Apostle Paul’s letter to the Roman church reminds us, “God showed his love to us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us” Our God is faithful! He pulled us up out of the quicksand of existence and placed our feed on a solid foundation and gave us power and purpose. The prophet Isaiah reminds us, “God you are my God, I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure.”

A Psalm of David.
37 Do not fret because of evildoers,

Instead of worrying about what others are doing, I encourage you today to focus on your purpose and focus on your process. When we focus on what God is asking us to do we eliminate the need to compare our progress with others. The psalmist reminds us not to focus on evildoers because, with all that gain and the traction they have, it will soon wither like the grass and die like a weed. This is just a quick reminder to keep your past in the rearview mirror of life and focus on what is in front of you.

2 Chronicles 7:12-15
12 Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him, “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. 13 If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, 14 and My people [d]who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the [e]prayer offered in this place. 16 For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that My name may be there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.
It is inevitable that we are going to have issues, concerns, problems, and even confusion on our journey through the earth realm. Let’s keep it 100, the Bible says “Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble. He springs up like a flower and withers away; like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure.” So you and I dealing with some life issues that we do not care to deal with is par for the course.
Here is where the power and promise of God show up in our trouble. In today's scripture passage, it says if I shut up the heavens if I command locust If I send pestilence, plagues or pandemics and our response are right. There will be a change. It is the response of the head and heart that God is looking for in this life that we live. He has promised to keep you and sustain you. “Cast your burden to the Lord and he will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken”
God requires Humility, Honest Conversation, and Heartfelt Repentance.

Have you ever been in a place in between? Between here and there, between yea and nay, between the proverbial rock and a hard place? I think we have all found ourselves here at one time or another. Today I want to encourage you that even in this place in the wilderness, God will show up with a word that will restore, rebuild and resurrect life.
On the journey, it is easy to feel like you have been betrayed and belittled by people, and circumstances but you have a refuge and a hope in our God! Brother, you are a champion! You have made it through so much more than you give yourself credit for. You have been lied on, scandalized, forgotten, and looked over to name a few. Today God instructed me to remind you that you SURVIVED the sword. You not only won the battle, but you also won the war. The war over self-doubt, destructive thinking, pornography, poor money management, anger, bitterness, and even unbelief. You have won the war. You say to yourself “No I did not!” The fact that you are standing is enough to know that you have what it takes to win, what it takes to declare victory over your life and the life of everyone in your sphere of influence. Remember the word of God, “No weapon formed against you will prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their right standing is of me, say the Lord. Isaiah 54:17
Brother, because you won the war you have found GRACE to keep you! In the darkest place of your existence, GRACE shows up to inform you that you are a champion and will be restored, rebuilt, and resurrected.
No matter what goes on in your life remember that God has drawn you to him, you have the purpose and power to accomplish everything that God has for you to complete.
Nehemiah saw the broken down walls of Jerusalem and knew within his heart that something had to be done about it. He did not have the authority or the resources to pull off such a big project. Nehemiah prayed and went to the King of the land to ask for what he needed to complete the job. Because of who Nehemiah was and because of his unwavering faith God put the thought into the King's heart to give him whatever he needed to complete the work. God has given you everything you need to complete the work.
Don’t give up! You survived the wilderness, you found GRACE and you are being rebuilt!

The strategy that Satan uses is fear to slowly and systematically break down human kind is to inject fear into various areas of life. In our fast paced life it is essential that we slow down. My wife, recently retired, has told me about countless times that she has noticed homes, building and businesses that she did not notice when she was working. It took retirement for her to slow down and see what was in front of her. I admonish you not to allow retirement or anything to apprehend you from slowing down. God's plan is clear brothers. Be anxious for NOTHING! God's plan requires that we are level headed and we slow down to assess any and every situation, connection or appointment that we have been provided the opportunity to review. Two simple words that can transform your life, two words that release new and inspiring avenues for your career and family; slow down.
Slow down and take in the big picutre. Slow down and enjoy the scenery. Slow down and smell the roses. God has a plan, flow in that plan for your life.

Ultimately how you treat your wife is a valid reflection of who you are. Christ died for the church and so we too as men accordingly must be willing to die for our wife. We must be ready to give our everything for our spouse. Culture calls us characteristics that are foreign to the word of God.

Ephesians 5: 22-23
23For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. 24But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.
Men we must understand that being THE HEAD is much more than just making a statement, it is a place of responsibility. Because you are the head you have the eyes for the vision for your family, the ears to hear the Word of the Lord for your family and the mouth to prophesy over your family. It is our responsibility to cover our family in prayer at all times. There is an anointing upon you to be great in all that you do. Brother, you have got this, you can and will be successful in your marriage. Just remember it is more than talk.

You're married, you did it! Congratulations! This is one of the very best decisions that you have ever made. Depending on what season of marriage you are in when you read this or listen to this podcast you are either elated and ready to get it on, you are just sick and tired of your spouse and can't wait to go to work tomorrow, or you have settled into a good rhythm in your marriage for a moment. Yes my brother you will go through season in your marriage just like you will go through seasons in life. The great thing is that seasons are necessary, for an example it cannot always be summer because eventually there would be drought and everything would dry up and die. Now we do not want that to happen!
Frustration happens! Repeat after me, Frustrations happens, but patience must be carefully cultivated.
So now that we have a full understanding that frustration happens morning, noon and night it is our focus to learn how to cultivate patience for our everyday life. Understand this, who you are in private is much more important that who you are in public. Ultimately your private person will invade your public personification of who you want us to believe you are.
When we cultivate patience we are retuning our intuition and we begin to operate in compassion, and act with empathy. We have be detuned by our culture and the digital age in which we live in. Everything you want is at your finger tips. 100 years ago when you wanted to know the temperature you would either open the front door and step outside and look up in the sky or put you had to the window. Now while you are taking a show you can ask Google, Siri or Alexa what the temperature is and get a response within a millisecond. Now do not get me wrong I love technology and I love the age that we have been blessed to live in however it does not teach us to wait, it does not teach us to be patience. It has however taught us that whatever we want we should have it right now.
In your marriage this has the ability create fractures, fissures and discontinuity. So when frustration happens in your marriage, and let me tell you this, it will happen. Here are some tips to begin to cultivate your garden of patience. I specifically used the metaphor of a garden because when a seed is planted you can go to the garden and get what you need for the day, and return when you need it again and it will be there ready to be harvested.
Remember this, patience must be cultivated through practice.

Use the S.T.O.P. method:

S: Stop what you were doing or speak out loud to yourself, "I need to pause and reflect".
- T: Take a breath and remember who you are in Jesus Christ
- O: Observe what is going on in your body, in your emotions, in your thoughts. How are these things lining up with a Godly Man? How are they lining up with with the spiritual practices of love that you are striving for?

P: Proceed. After taking an opportunity to "check-in" It is time to move forward the way the Holy Spirit is speaking to you.

Teach yourself patience with small things. Chose situations in your daily living to slow down and recognize that you should be exercising patience. In traffic, when your children do not take out the trash, when you find yourself cleaning up after people, when standing in a long line in a retail establishment. Practicing to be patience in each of these "small" things will build and build and give you insight for the larger things.

I’m Married Now What?
Part 1: Let’s Talk About Love
Kirk Franklin penned the following words and paired them with beautiful music and name the song LOVE released with the Group God’s Property in 1997.
“Love a word that comes and goes, But few people really know, What it means to really love somebody, Love, though the tears may fade away, I'm so glad your love will stay, Cause I love you, And you show me, Jesus, What it really means to love.”
Love is one of those words that seems to loose its meaning in the English language. It looses it meaning when we use it for meaningless banter. When viewed from a Greek etymological view we see that this simple four letter word is deep and powerful. Love has the ability to shape your world, move your world and ultimately change your world view.
Over the next couple of weeks we are going to talk about marriage. I know for sure that one of my assignments while I am on this earth is to strengthen marriages. What I do know for sure is that I did not have a father to tell me how to navigate this institution that so many of us choose for our live. After all the Bible does teach that “marriage is honorable’, so it is great that many of us choose marriage. Many men make it a plan for their lives to marry, but so many of us have never been shown real love. When it comes to romancing (which is one of the Greek words for Love) we have been undated with examples from cheesy romance novels to that one uncle who knows how to “get the girls”.
As we work our way through many scriptures it is my desire that I help you get a deeper better understanding of marriage and the standard that we as men need to hold up in our marriages.

1 Corinthians 13 4-7 (God's Word Translation)
4 Love is patient. Love is kind. Love isn’t jealous. It doesn’t sing its own praises. It isn’t arrogant. 5 It isn’t rude. It doesn’t think about itself. It isn’t irritable. It doesn’t keep track of wrongs. 6 It isn’t happy when injustice is done, but it is happy with the truth. 7 Love never stops being patient, never stops believing, never stops hoping, never gives up.
Prayer Points:
Teach me what real love is
Guide me as I lead my wife in love
Teach me to be kind and patience with my wife.
Build my trust with my wife so that I am jealous of her and her accomplishments.
Help me maintain humility in all that i do with my wife.

…but the Lord is faithful.
2 Thessalonians 3:1-5 (NASB)
Finally, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it was also with you; 2 and that we will be rescued from troublesome and evil people; for not all have the faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 4 We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing, and will do, what we command. 5 May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the perseverance of Christ.
This is a statement from a person who has had the opportunity to experience God in a real way. To shift mid thought and drop a line about God’s faithfulness speak volumes about Paul’s relationship with God. The promise of God is that when we accept him we are his children. What he does for one child, he will do for another. I say that to lay the premise that if Paul can experience a faithful God then so can you and I. Say it with me, but the Lord is faithful! Yes, yes, He is! He has promised to keep us from evil.
As I was meditating God shared with me that evil is not always a massive external issued that you have to call heaven and earth to move. Just like the voice of God, evil will whisper in your ear word of doubt, words of unbelief, words of failure. I have said it before and I will continue to say it all of my life the only weapon that the enemy of our soul has is distraction. If the fallen angels can distract you long enough so that you do not believe, then they have won that battle. However they have not won the war. There are time in our lives that we have to step back, refresh, review our strategy and then move forward. David, before he was king, was leading a group of men in battle. Upon their return to their encampment they found everything destroyed and everyone gone. David, cried, David wiped his eyes, David prayed, David pursued, David won! God has promised to not to allow the evil one to overtake us and this is something to be glad about and give God praise for. No mater where you find yourself. If you believe, you will win.

Your Family, God's Future
Genesis 1:26-28
26 Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 And God blessed them [granting them certain authority] and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it [putting it under your power]; and rule over (dominate) the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.”

- Father thank you for the Grace to abstain from and flee sexual immorality.
- Father thank you for placing in us a Spirit of respect and honor for you and your statues, so we can walk according to them in our lives as men.
- Pray for our brothers that are living in sexual immorality: Father thank you that you have Graced them the strength and ability to stop and repent Lord.

“Locked In”
Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will achieve success.
There is something that is often over looked when we as men deep dive into relationships. That dreaded most challenging of all task COMMUNICATION. When there is a person that we are digging we will do all the talking, showing up and being there we need to do in order to get them, but when we have “our person” the floodgate of communication that was once present to get the prize has now closed up. Recently I was reminded of this phenomenon by my wife. On a road trip she after making rest stop I took care of my business and reported immediately back to the car in my position of the driver. She showed up a few moments later and jumped in the car buckled up and looked at me and said “There was a time that you would wait for me, and open doors for me.” It reminded me that in order to keep what I once had, I need to continue to do what I did to get it.
How does this fit with today’s podcast. In the first chapter of Joshua the brilliant military strategist and a brave and capable warrior that had just become the leader of nation. Was told to rely on and remain locked into the word of God for all that he needed. Joshua was instructed that COMMUNICATION with God was more essential than anything that he would come up against. Before he went into battle, remain locked in with God, when making decisions for the nation, remain locked in with God, when you wake up in the morning remain locked in with God’s word.
Brothers I encourage you to stay locked-in to God by spending time in the word. Make it part of your daily routine, read it meditate on it and communicate with God about what you have read. Remember prayer is a dialog of communication between you and God. He want to hear from you and I know you want to hear from Him. Walking in this instruction will transform your life! You WILL be prosperous, you WILL have great success.
Assess the role of the Word Of God in your current life.
~I read it daily and depend on it.
~I read it when I get a chance.
~I use it when I have a problem.
~I see it when the verse of the day comes up on my notifications (and ignore it).
~I read it when I am listen to podcast or YouTube only.
I challenge you that in the year of 2022 you make it part of your daily life, read the word, meditate on the word, because God want to communicate with you, so He can make your way prosperous and give you great success.

Go Get It: Moving from Thought to Action
Season 4 Episode 27
Joshua 1:2-4 NASB
2 “Moses My servant is dead; so now arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel. 3 Every place on which the sole of your foot steps, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory.
Thought, Action. Though, Action. Though, Action. One requires rest, relaxation and reflection. The other requires change, commotion and commemorating.
We will often hear thing, we will plan them, we will believe them and will review the plan again. Too often that is where it ends, after the review we just walk away and expect God to make it happen. Brothers I am telling you today, it does not happen that way. God has already given us EVERYTHING we need that pertains to life… (2 Peter 1:3). Joshua was thrown into a new place and space of leadership. I use the word thrown lightly, because God never just throws us into anything. There is a time of preparation if we choose to use it wisely or not. Nevertheless Joshua now finds himself as the leader of an entire nation. A group of people who were born in the wilderness, they were nomads who followed and unseen God who kept them through their journey.
Everything that God has promised is already here, but like Joshua, we must go get it. It is time for you and me to stop looking at our promised possession and take the leap of faith and go get it. The Scripture reminds us faith without works is dead! (James 2:17). It is imperative that we do something to get what has be given to us. Note here what we are headed to and going to grab hold of is not something that we will have to battle for. It has been given to us. It requires that we go and demand our right to our destiny. You see because someone has taken hold of your stuff does not mean it is theirs. It still belongs to you. Go get your stuff.
Brothers we must move from thinking about what God has said, and thinking about the promises to the action of getting those thing.
Change Your Position
Create a Commotion
Commemorate what God has told you about you.

The Art of Waiting with God
The bible instructs us to wait. Wait on the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes wait on the Lord! Psalm 27:14. As men it is imperative that we wait for instruction on life, family, career, finances, and so many other decisions from our commander. Our commander is God! Proverbs strongly suggest that in all that we do we should acknowledge God, and the promise of acknowledging God in what we do is He, Jehovah, will correct and straighten our paths.
However when we wait on God it is not a passive waiting process, it is an active waiting process. The act of waiting on God requires us to do something! As men it is in our nature no to sit around and do nothing, so why would we think that when it come to God’s handiwork in our lives that we should just sit around and wait on him to fix it all. Our relationship with God requires us to be active participants in all that happens in our lives. From our salvation to the building of our family or even the building of an empire raised to give God glory.
I fully understand that active waiting come with its issues. You may feel apprehension, uncertainty or even doubt when you begin to walk out what you have heard Holy Spirit speak to you about your life. This is when we must activate our faith. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us, without faith it is impossible to please God. James 2:17 comes back and says: FAITH without works is dead! Let that sink in. Brothers it takes more than simply just saying God “called” me to it and then sitting around and not doing anything. We must “ACTIVELY WAIT” on God.
When we actively wait on God we will experience his Grace as we flow from place to place, make good decisions and even poor one, have moments of joy and moments of great tears and sorrow. However when you actively wait God is walking every step with you to give you great success.

We often do not understand what we have because we are bogged down with the cares, concerns and culture of this present age. It is challenging to navigate the world as we know it. Here is my suggestion when you are bogged down and your life has little to no movement, pray this.
Ephesians 1:18-19 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the boundless greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might
Listen the job, the assignment, the the mission, the charge that God has placed on your life you have not been sent out without what you need to be successful. God has empowered you to accomplish His will and His purpose.
As men we can sometimes have an authority issue, when we question ourselves about the level of authority that God has placed in us. Questions like, and I adequate; did God really call me; can I lead this family; can I write this book; what about my past God; what will people say? I have often said I will NEVER go into politics because when they started digging up my past, it would be M-E-S-S-Y! And I am not ready to have that part of my life exposed to the world. However, if God told me to do the work, I know that he would equip me and shield my past so I would be able to do the work with integrity.
Remember, you have what you need in you to be successful in this life. Now Go and walk in your God given authority as a man of God. Walk with your head up and your chest out and lead with God love. You have got this!

Open my eyes so I can be enlightened.
Help me see the hope of your calling in my family, the culture and the world

John 13: 1-5, 12-17
God clearly calls his people to be people that will serve others. As men it is our responsibility to serve first Jehovah God, secondly if we are married our spouse, thirdly our children, then our extended family, our community, our country, the world & universe and lastly ourselves! I know that this sounds CRAZY what about me, who is going to think about me, what about my needs. I am convinced that when we get it right and serve with a servants heart others whom God puts into our lives will serve us. True love, true service is given without the expectation of reciprocity. However there is a law that has been placed in the earth that cannot be taken away. Genesis 8:22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. SEEDTIME AND HARVEST Brothers, when you sew a seed, it is guaranteed to come back to you! Allow me to make it plan, when you serve with a focused and true heart, you will be served. When you serve others, the blessing will flow down and you will find yourself standing in a pool of blessings.

Psalm 8:3-5
3 When I look up into the night skies and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you have made— 4 I cannot understand how you can bother with mere puny man, to pay any attention to him! 5 And yet you have made him only a little lower than the angels[a] and placed a crown of glory and honor upon his head.
No matter what the world tells you, you have been created to be something unique and powerful in the eyes of God. Brother Jehovah has crowned you with Glory and Honor! You are an honorable vessel designed to be used to change the lives of whomever you come in contact with. It is time to walk in your rightful place and no long allow that negative self talk to determine your outcome. In your darkest times allow Holy Spirit to minister, speak, lead and guide you into all the truth that He has for you. The word of the Lord in Jeremiah say: "I know the plans that I have for you, they are plans of good and not of evil to give you a future and a hope! That is good news! No matter where you are in you life, embrace what God has called you to do and go for it 100%. If people do not understand just know that you are following the voice of the Lord God Jehovah!

Exodus 34
23 “Three times a year all your men must come into the presence of the Master, the Lord God of Israel. 24 I will force nations out of your way and will expand ⌞your country’s⌟ borders. No one will want to take away your land while you’re gone three times a year to the Lord’s festivals.
No matter how overwhelmed you may feel like because you are a man who is doing your best to live your life as you hear telling you to remember that God has your back.
- He will remove all of your enemies out of your way.
- He will expand your territory
- 1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called out to the Lord God of Israel, Oh that you would greatly bless me and an extend my border, and that Your hand might be with and that You would keep from harm so that it would not hurt me!” And God, the Lord God brought about all that he (Jabez) requested.
- No one will take what I have given you
If we remain righteous (in right standing with God) He will not allow what He has given to us, and or what we have obtain through righteous means to be taken from us.

Genesis 3:6
The woman saw that the tree had fruit that was good to eat, nice to look at, and desirable for making someone wise. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.
- Adam was there, but was not heard
- Are you silent when you should be speaking?
- Has your voice become a mumble in your house
- It is time you us, you and I to stand up and use our voices to effect change in the world. ….Whoa Monts, that is a tall order, well let’s just start at home. Do not leave the discipline of the children to the woman only, do not leave the decision making process to the women only. WHY? Because God has place you in a distinctive place as the head of the household, the priest for your family. It is you who are supposed to be going to God to get instruction for your family. Then you share those instructions with them.
- Adam ate, then hid
- He did not embrace his identity as the ruler that God created him for. Brothers we cannot forsake our place to rule.
- (Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, “Let us make humans in our image, in our likeness. Let them rule the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the domestic animals all over the earth, and all the animals that crawl on the earth.”27 So God created humans in his image.In the image of God he created them.He created them male and female.)
- He did not embrace his identity as the ruler that God created him for. Brothers we cannot forsake our place to rule.
- Pray for courage to stand up and be vocal when it is necessary in our home, in our community, in the world.

2:15-22
So the Lord God took the man [He had made] and settled him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may freely (unconditionally) eat [the fruit] from every tree of the garden; 17 but [only] from the tree of the knowledge (recognition) of good and evil you shall not eat, otherwise on the day that you eat from it, you shall most certainly [h]die [because of your disobedience].”
18 Now the Lord God said, “It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him—a counterpart who is] [i]suitable and complementary for him.” 19 So the Lord God formed out of the ground every animal of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name. 20 And the man gave names to all the livestock, and to the birds of the air, and to every animal of the field; but for Adam there was not found a helper [that was] suitable (a companion) for him. 21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and while he slept, He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. 22 And the rib which the Lord God had taken from the man He made (fashioned, formed) into a woman, and He brought her and presented her to the man.
3:1
Now the serpent was more crafty (subtle, skilled in deceit) than any living creature of the field which the Lord God had made. And [a]the serpent (Satan) said to the woman, “Can it really be that God has said, ‘You shall not eat from [b]any tree of the garden’?”
It is very important that we choose our words wisely. The scripture teaches that death and life are in the power of our tongue. (Proverbs 18:21).
- Deeper than that is that every word that comes out of our mouth is formed by a thought. As a man thinks so is he. Proverbs 23:7
- The battle is not for the mouth, it is for your heart. Check out
- Luke 6: 43-44. 43 For there is no good tree that bears bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree that bears good fruit. 44 For each tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush. 45 The good person out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil person out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.
- Satan is subtle he will never tell you to dethrone Lord God, what he will do is create distractions to keep you from remaining focused on what comes out of your mouth.
Stay focused and know that Jehovah is Lord, he is the Absolute Master and Ruler of everything. Let it be know in your actions and let it be known for what comes out of your heart that he is our LORD.

Some brief facts:
70% of Male prisoner come from fatherless homes.
71% of high school dropouts come from fatherless homes.
63% of teen suicides come from fatherless homes.
In the USA taxpayers spend more than 8 Billion dollars annually on high school drop outs for public assistance.
Teen pregnancies cost the American tax payers an average of 10 billion dollars annually.
ARE YOU IN PLACE?
- God is seeking for men to stand up for him! (STAND IN THE CITY)
- God is seeking men to repair what is broken down and not operating properly! (SURE UP THE CITY)
- God is seeking men to Stand in the Gap for him. (SECURE THE CITY)
When you are in place and standing for righteousness God will not destroy the city. It was only because he could not find anyone who would stand up that the decision was mad to destroy.
It reminds me of the story of Noah in Genesis 5. God could not find any righteous people save Noah and his family and the world was destroyed by water. Here is the Grace in the story of Noah and in our present situation. God say “I will never flood the world again.”
When we can Grace will stand in the city, Grace with sure up the city, and Grace will secure the city! That is an awesome thing.
Brothers we have a job to do! Get in place and restore our families and our future.

I read a passage of my devotional “Mindfully Me” on yesterday to my students that read “The only person stopping your from achieving your goals is you.” That simple, but profound statement hit me like a ton of brick. Our conversation continued with how childhood trauma could effect your moving forward, how economics could be a challenge, how “head talk" could also be an issue, but ultimately at the end it came back to that simple, but profound statement, “The only person stopping you is YOU.” Well today I choose. I choose to be a better man, a better husband, a better father, a better community leader, a better pastor. What iChoose statements do you need to make? Stop allowing your past to hinder and harm your God given right to a bigger, brighter future.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:
A right time for birth and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap,
A right time to kill and another to heal,
A right time to destroy and another to construct,
A right time to cry and another to laugh,
A right time to lament and another to cheer,
A right time to make love and another to abstain,
A right time to embrace and another to part,
A right time to search and another to count your losses,
A right time to hold on and another to let go,
A right time to rip out and another to mend,
A right time to shut up and another to speak up,
A right time to love and another to hate,
A right time to wage war and another to make peace.
This was a hard one for me. Why because as I began to minister, to share, to serve you with God had dropped in my spirit it let me know that people who I love will not be with me always. I do not have much more to say than THIS is necessary.

It has been said that "TEAMWORK MAKE THE DREAM WORK!" and it is true. The scripture teaches us in Ecclesiastes that two people (a team) is much more powerful than one. Imagine if only one player from your favorite sports team took the field or the court against an entire opposing team. Certainly the odds would not be in your team's favor. Your team would loose and not have a chance of winning. If the best quarterback in the world went out and had no receivers or no line to assist with receiving or protection as he set up the play he would be just a quarterback. He needs the entire team to help him achieve the goals of the team.
The Holy Scripture teaches that if two are back to back they cannot be defeated. Brothers get back to back with your spouse, your family, your business partners, with Jesus Christ and know that you will never be defeated. There is POWER in a TEAM! Today become the PowerTeam you were meant to be! Take root in your greatness and continue to grow in his grace.

The scriptures teaches that children are God's Love-Gift to us! Brothers that is so exciting that God will pour a gift up on us as precious as a son or daughter. No matter where your children are today, make sure you make it your purpose and your plans to pray for them and let them know that you love them.

Children are God’s love-gift; they are heaven’s generous reward. Children born to a young couple will one day rise to protect and provide for their parents. - Father thank you for placing in us a Spirit of respect and honor for you and your statues, so we can walk according to them in our lives as men.
- Pray for our brothers that are living in sexual immorality: Father thank you that you have Graced them the strength and ability to stop and repent Lord.

Words that I hear in my head when I think of leadership are humility, integrity, and faithful to name a few. Leadership is a calling that every man has on his life, no matter what the vocation. Men are naturally leaders. (BTW women are naturally leaders also, after all this is Morning Meditation for Men so allow me to talk to the men). Brothers we have a responsibility to lead our family, our community, and in the work place. We lead. It is my prayer that your leadership skills will improve as you search the scripture and dig down into all that God has called you to do.

Today throughout my day I am praying for you finances. I believe that God wants his children to live in a place fo peace and abundance when it come to our finances. He has laid out some promises that we will never be without as long as we follow the "instruction on the package". Know that your struggle with finances is not just relegated to you, but many struggle. I promise with prayer, study of scripture, discipline and some reading you will get a firm grasp on your finances and everything that you desire for you and your family will fall into place.

God has given us all the Grace to overcome the guilt, and shame of our past and of sin. We do not have to be stuck in that place any longer. One of the benefits of being part of God’s family is that we are not bound by religious philosophies that tell us that we are not good enough! When Jesus died on the cross for our sin it was once and for all. When we accept Christ into our lives we automatically become an overcomer because he overcame, and he did that all just for us!
For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under the Law but under grace. (Romans 6:14)
For whoever has been born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith. (1 John 5:4)
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us reveals the fragrance of the knowledge of Him in every place. (2 Corinthians 2:14)

Taken out of context 1 Corinthians 14:40 says that we should be sure that the whole of our life and ministry is done in a place of order. Organization and pride have kept me from a lot of blessings. I wonder if I am the only one, I doubt it seriously. As men we tend not to ask for help when we need it from our spouses, our family our doctors to name a few. I admonish you to get your life organized so you can live your best life and part of that is asking for assistance when you need it. Today we will start by asking God to help us get organized in every area of our life. NO MORE CHAOS! God we need order. Being unorganized will lead to missing important deadline, always forgetting where you put your keys, missing important dates for the most important people in your life. Pray with me today for organization and experience what God can do with an organized man.

Today starts a new series for Morning Meditation for Men. We will begin our first 21 Days of Prayer series. Today we start off with Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Peace is not the absents of conflict. It is the calm assurance that God is in the midsts of all that you are going through and he is in total control. Trust God, allow him to remain in control. Although the very appearance of you life may seem like it is spinning out of control, with God in the drivers seat you, your family, your finances, will be okay. Trust the process and remain in peace.

When life kicks you in the balls, we are talking to the fella here right, do not use it as an opportunity to talk bad about life, spouse, family, children! Find the good in everything and repeat it for your life. Listen to this If you fail never give up because F.A.I.L is an acronym for FIRST ATTEMPT IN LEARNING. End is not the end in fact E.N.D is an acronym for EFFORD NEVER DIES. If you get NO as an answer N.O. is an acronym for NEXT OPPORTUNITY. We have to speak life over ourselves and everyone connected to us.

No matter what state (physically, emotionally, mentally) we find ourselves in, we still matter to God our King and his plan for The Kingdom. In the most broken point of our existence , we still have value, we still have worth and we still have purpose. Never discount what you are going through, because what you are going THROUGH will provide the you the wisdom to help you pull or push someone out when they are stuck. Growing up in Connecticut winter storms were sometimes brutal, lasting days and racking up inches in snow fall. Several inches snow was not an excuse to STOP life. Transportation continued, and many got stuck in the snow. I have seen several people come behind and give a weary driver a push, I have seen cars hooked up to other vehicles to receive a pull out of ditch, and I have seen cars stuck and abandoned, only to return the next day and find the street clear. No matter what, they did not get stuck. I admonish you do not get stuck in your personal winter storm. You may have to wait until the storm has passed or get help in the middle of the storm. Brother, you are coming out of this and you have just as much purpose, better yet even more, than when you went in!
Psalm 147:3, He heals the brokenhearted. And binds up their wounds.
2 Corinthians 4:7-10, 7 But we have this treasure in [e]earthen containers, so that the extraordinary greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; 8 we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

At the end of the day, it is about belief. Do you believe that Jesus died to ransom your life? Do you believe that he was the ultimate sacrifice ? This is what the Apostle John teaches: Jesus answered them and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate some of the loaves and were filled. Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.”Therefore they said to Him, “What are we to do, so that we may accomplish the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.” So they said to Him, “What then are You doing as a sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work are You performing? Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.’” Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world.” Then they said to Him, “Lord, always give us this bread.” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; the one who comes to Me will not be hungry, and the one who believes in Me will never be thirsty.
Fellas I implore you to make a decision for Jesus today. Tomorrow is not promised to you. The moment you hear this word the moment you read these show notes make your decision. The Apostle Paul offered this to those who were gathering in Rome: But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person BELIEVES, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in SALVATION.
MORE THAN ANYTHING, MORE THAN ANYTHING GIVE YOUR LIFE TO CHRIST. I CAN MAKE THIS ONE PROMISE, A DECISION TO LIVE A LIFE FOR CHRIST IS NOT GOING TO A BED OF EASE, BUT IT WILL ALWAYS BE WORTH IT.

Psalm 136 is an example of antiphonal praise to Jehovah! Right there in the first few verses the psalmist writes that our God is the only God! But what stands out to me in this is beautiful call and response is that the choir keeps saying THANK YOU! Brothers thank you must become part of our daily vocabulary. We must continue with thanks on our lips not just to God, but our spouse, our children, our family! In the great times, never forget to say thank you that you are in that state, in the rough times say thank you that God is providing a way of escape from that place too. Thank you makes room for more. It opens a portal of possibilities for our lives. Never forget to say THANK YOU.

In Job chapter 10, Job has a litany of questions that he said he will ask God when he gets a change. Job was challenged with the paradox of faith and doubt.
In our search for truth and righteousness we must move beyond an outside second person relationship with God. We must get acquainted with God one on one. Because life promises to be challenging and if you do not know God doubt will come in and try to destroy your relationship. When you KNOW God you will have a well grounded and well founded basis that God has your best interest in mind. When we go though our metaphorical valley experience and we find ourselves at the lowest point of our very existence or when climb to our mountain top experience and the air is so thin we find ourselves not being able to breath, we still with the little we have left in us can state, I trust God! God requires us to TURN from our wicked way, our sinful and sin filled lives. He requires us to move from out past and move forward with him. Sin is simply missing the mark. If you have missed the mark with honesty, integrity, morality, belief and so on; if you have missed the mark you have sinned. Here is the great news, if you are in Christ, if you have given your life to Jesus you are no longer under the dominion of sin. You are controlled by sin, but you have the ability to look sin in the face and deny it any place in your life. Brother's in this podcast we talk about turning 180 degrees and walking away from sin, so we can live out best life!

It is time for us to get back to prayer. Set your heart right. Walk away from all of the foolishness and childish behaviors. Get in front of God and ask him to provide you with instructions and solutions that you can implement in your life to become the Man that he has designed for you to be. How do I set my heart right? Prayer, pure simple communication with God. No more excuses. Let's go!

Depression and despair go hand in hand. But the issue with despair is that it is a true sense of hopelessness. When you have Christ in your life there is NEVER hopelessness. The Son of Korah wrote in the Hebrew song book (Psalm 42) "Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him, For the help of His presence, my God." It reminds us that God is our hope. One true nature of God that I can attest to is that he is a repeat offender; if He did it before, He will do it again. God will bring you out just like he did with you before. Just like he did with the children of Israel. Just like He did with Paul in the prison. Never give up your hope. Beware of despair, because it only come to push you over the edge. But our God has come to breath new life into you. Wait on Him, I promise he will show up on time.

When we speak without thinking we can destroy a life, a future, a family and the list goes on. It is imperative that we remember that our words have power, the Bible teaches us that. Job found himself in a place where his emotions took over, and he did not think before he spoke. The monologue in chapter nine sound like some of us at time a double faucet, two headed, two faced. Spewing blessing and hatred from the same mouth! Wow, just wow! Men, brothers, friends we must remember that our words count and they leave a lasting impression. Your Words Matter, choose them wisely.

As cruel and heinous as His death was he had to go through with it, He had to endure it, because without this final sacrifice of an unblemished lamb we would not be able to experience Grace in its fullest. Under his own power, he walked up the HILL, he hung there, and he gave up his life so that we could have life. My sprint cried every time I read this account, to think he would sacrifice it all for me. I cried tears of grief and joy at the same time. Our father send our brother into the world to save us from ourselves! All I can say is thank you elder brother for bringing me back to Poppa God!

Forgiveness forges a bond to yourself that says I will not allow external forces to dictate my internal peace. Forgivness Frees you from others and yourself Forgiveness give you focus, Life is much bigger than you. Let go of the hurt and the pain of your past and embrace God of today and who you are right now. Because life is fluid we are every changing if we remain honest. In life we have choices. Luke's narration of the Christ's passion opens a scene when 3 different entities have chosen to REMAIN in their position no matter what. The Authority, The Crowd and The Lamb. As men we are called to REMAIN steadfast in our integrity, our self awareness, our passion our courage and so many other characteristics. Sometimes we receive gifts that we are not to fond of. For an example a sweater that may not be "my color". Although you do not throw the sweater away, it is thrown in a place until it is needed, in the winter. God will give us gifts that we may not penetrate our limited perception. We wonder why he would give us suffering? We have been chatting about Job for quite a while now, but we shift our focus to Jesus, notice how he suffered. Some would say that he suffered in silence, I surmised that he had his moments of questions about the process. However in the midst of it he, Jesus, realized that His suffering had a greater impetus than just him being released from a place. Jesus suffered so we would not have to bear the sting of suffering! Yes, my brothers we will, heck, we must suffer, but because of Jesus' sacrifice it is nothing like it should be. Thanks be to God who gives us the VICTORY!
Remember this, your suffering is meant to make someone else greater, while pushing to paramount position in this life!
JOHN 18: 1-10 (NLT)
- After saying these things, Jesus crossed the Kidron Valley with his disciples and entered a grove of olive trees. 2 Judas, the betrayer, knew this place, because Jesus had often gone there with his disciples. 3 The leading priests and Pharisees had given Judas a contingent of Roman soldiers and Temple guards to accompany him. Now with blazing torches, lanterns, and weapons, they arrived at the olive grove. 4 Jesus fully realized all that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward to meet them. “Who are you looking for?” he asked. 5 “Jesus the Nazarene,” they replied. “I am he,” Jesus said. Shall I not drink from the cup of suffering the Father has given me?”

16 Therefore we do not become discouraged [spiritless, disappointed, or afraid]. Though our outer self is [progressively] wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day by day. 17 For our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness]! 18 So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal [just brief and fleeting], but the things which are invisible are everlasting and imperishable.

You have been called to do something great! Many times as we start we are on fire, we have a group of people around us and we start off RUNNING! What often happens as we traverse our personal path people will begin to fall off, and we loose our drive. Remember the assignment was given to you, not them. No matter what happens, no matter who falls off Stay the Course!

I just wish I could be left alone! I wish these kids would shut up, I wish my spouse would stop nagging, I really wish my boss would quit acting like a butt! I just want to be left alone, in my sorrow, in my mess, by myself ! LEAVE ME ALONE. I have been there before, but the issue with being left alone is that you are no good on your own. You need someone there to encourage you and push you in your darkest hour. We may say it, but trust me, we do not want it.

WELCOME TO THE RISE AND GRIND CREW!
Today we encounter Job speaking and he is in a adverse psychological location. Again he request that God would just take him out! In essence he tells Eliphaz that his words are tasteless and meaningless, and to shut up! Being in a place of such hopelessness is devastating to the body and the soul.
Being in a place of hopelessness you will seemingly try anything to soothe your ache and scratch your itch. I have tried to eat it away, I have tried to drink it away with alcohol, I have tried to smoke it away with weed and I have tried to sex it away with women that I was not committed to, to name a few. After all of the eating, drinking, smoking and sexing there was still a void! The void remained because the pleasure of the flesh was not what I needed to bring wholeness and peace. What I needed was a WORD from GOD Jehovah. I needed to hear my Father whisper in my ear. "It's going to be okay. My Grace is sufficient for you. When you are weak, son, that is when I can show my strength." I needed my Father, My Daddy to pick me up and remind me that I am loved. I needed to be "Refreshed in His Words"

YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS, IT IS TIME TO RISE AND GRIND!
Listen, chaos and calamity have your name on it, they are sitting at the door waiting to come in. No matter how good you are, no matter how upright and righteous you are trouble will find you. Just ask Job. We are continuing our deep dive into Job in chapter 5 we see his friend sharing what can be see with the physical eye. Job is in trouble, it does not look good for him, just a bleak forecast for his current situation and his life. Some where in the middle this discourse Eliphaz make the statement, "Take your case to God". That is where we come in today. Take your case to God. No matter who you are you are going to have trouble show up in your life. It is simply LIFE. But our hope is in the fact that God will avenge us, because we are righteous. Because we are his children. Because we are covered by GRACE!
So Brothers take your case to God, let him work it out!

Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied to Job
“If someone tries to talk to you, will you become impatient? But who can keep from talking? Certainly, you have instructed many people: When hands were weak, you made them strong. When someone stumbled, you lifted him up with your words. When knees were weak, you gave them strength. But trouble comes to you, and you’re impatient. It touches you, and you panic. Doesn’t your fear of God give you confidence and your lifetime of integrity give you hope?
Brothers have you ever been in a place where it seem like your world is falling apart? The first thing I want you to do is slow down and remember who you are. You are a heir and a joint heir with Jesus Christ. Secondly I want you to remember how you have been instrumental in caring for others. How you have been there for so many people, how you have spoken life into seemingly dead situations because of what is in you. God has blessed you beyond measure! So Brother, do not panic! God will get you through this too.

PSALM 37:1-10
1 Do not be preoccupied with evildoers.
Do not envy those who do wicked things.
2 They will quickly dry up like grass
and wither away like green plants.
3 Trust the Lord, and do good things.
Live in the land, and practice being faithful.
4 Be happy with the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Entrust your ways to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will act on your behalf.
6 He will make your righteousness shine like a light,
your just cause like the noonday sun.
7 Surrender yourself to the Lord, and wait patiently for him.
Do not be preoccupied with an evildoer who succeeds in his way
when he carries out his schemes.
8 Let go of anger, and leave rage behind.
Do not be preoccupied.
It only leads to evil.
9 Evildoers will be cut off from their inheritance,
but those who wait with hope for the Lord will inherit the land.
10 In a little while a wicked person will vanish.
Then you can carefully examine where he was,
but there will be no trace of him.

It's time to change your glasses. It's time to go to a different vantage point to see all that you have at your disposal to use for God's glory. Brother's do not get caught up with what you see other people and evil people are doing and what they have. You are the righteousness of God and he promises to defend and uphold his own. We just need to look again through the lens of the Lord.
