With a global population of 7 billion, and only around 10,000 athletes representing their country at any one Olympics, your odds of being an Olympian are about 560,000 to 1. In fact, you’re actually 37 times more likely to get struck by lightning ...but try telling Australian sailors Will Cooley and Amy Potter that!
Their story is an 'Aussie Underdog to Global Fame' story in waiting, and one you'll hear first with Sev. At just 20 years of age, Will and Amy are living their ‘Team Limitless’ creed - ‘Dream Extraordinary’ in a massive way as they set out to represent Australia at Paris 24 in sailings adrenaline-fuelled, hydro-foiling, speed machine that is the Nacra 17.
Will and Amy share what it takes to be an elite-high-performance team, the sacrifice required, the absolute physical and mental peak needed to react and make split-second decisions at breakneck speed on the water, and how, surprisingly, this leads to a kind of mindful stillness amongst the chaos and movement, as two people work unconsciously and in absolute synergy to experience that mythical ‘zone’ that all of us seek to experience in life or in sport.
There's a saying, "If god wanted us to be vegetarians, then why did he create such tasty cows and sheep?" VEGAN TRIGGER ALERT - The following contains discussions of deceased animals that have been turned into incredible feasts by Cory and Leon.
So how do you turn lobbing a steak on an old barbie from dad's shed to getting paid as content creators and an enduring viral phenomenon?
The boys tell Sev how they went from a small sensation doing outrageous things that should never be done to things you'll eat, to the likes of Gordon Ramsey jumping on to co-produce content with the boys. It turns out that cooking, like everything in life, only really comes to life when you do it with heart and a genuine sense of playfulness and, as you'll hear - with Cory and Leon, the proof is in the pudding...or pork lollipop!

From teaching, to stand-up comedy, to being a network weatherman, to the world of short form video content, Adrian has explored a number of ‘career’ opportunities before settling on what drove his deepest passion - and all before the age of 30.If you are looking to move into the world of being a content creator or influencer, kick back and become a fly on the wall as Sev and Adrian (by simply riffing about each others journey) give a Master Class on pivoting towards a sustainable creative career through their shared experiences and learnings.
The most important relationship men have is the one they have with themselves, and yet men just aren’t that great at developing and building a strong kit bag of skills they can draw on when life suddenly doesn’t go to plan. And sadly, this is driving the global mental health crisis and the massive rise in anxiety, drug/alcohol abuse, and depression in men across all age groups.
That’s where Gareth and Man Up come in. Gareth is on a mission to teach young men the critical skills that empower and equip them to be able to handle all of life’s up and downs. By engaging young men in high school, Gareth and his Man Up workshops explore and guide participants in all elements of male culture, and just what does it mean to be male in this ever changing world. Gareth has a fascinating story to tell, and by following his incredible passion he is creating an entire generation of emotionally intelligent young men who can deal with life’s challenges with psychological flexibility, resilience and integrity and who are then taking that learning and emotional intelligence into our wider society as a whole.
John Elliot has a story that simply has to be heard to be believed. If a movie studio pitched his story as an idea, it would be shot down as just too far-fetched to be real. But real it is. Having chosen to leave his hugely successful business at just age 35 to seek out an adventure, John, with absolutely no previous experience or training, purchased a handful of camels and began what was to become a solo 12,000 km journey that took him and his camels to every corner of the country. John endured pretty much every critical life-threatening moment you could imagine, and some you just couldn’t. In his incredibly entertaining way, we hear about split-second survival decisions while having to outrun one of Australia’s most devastating bushfires, falling off a mountain face with 1,000kg of camel falling right behind him, having to survive on roadkill, fighting off rouge wild camel attacks, losing all his camels while in a life-threatening blizzard and, when facing a fate worse than death, holding the 5 bullets he carried with him and needing to make the decision that there was just enough for each of his camels and then himself. This is not just a story just about getting out of your comfort zone, it’s about smashing the crap out of anything that even slightly resembles one.
From arriving in Australia as a young boy not knowing a single word of English after fleeing two brutal civil wars in Sudan and Ethiopia to Shane Jacobsen hitting the Australia’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer on his stand-up comedy routine, Emo has had one hell of a journey. Emo shares his story of how, from such trauma and adversity as a child, he found his voice through comedy and then took that voice across the globe, playing all the world’s big comedy festivals, and most recently to national prominence in the prime-time spotlight. He recounts the harsh realities, the prejudices, the fear, and the genuine kindness and caring he has experienced growing up as an African Australian in a country still coming to terms with its own national identity and what it means to be an Aussie. And he takes us inside the Australia’s Got Talent performance that changed his life, with one fascinating moment in time, played out in front of the nation’s eyes, that might have been the instant decision that changed everything.
Grand Final day at the MCG. Nearly 100,000 screaming fans fall silent and hold their breath as, with his team down by 2 points and with only two minutes left on the clock, Dom Sheed lines up from an almost impossible angle to win the game for the Eagles...or face the gut-wrenching agony of defeat on the biggest stage. This famous moment was not just the result of a few brief minutes, or the whole see-sawing two hours of that game, or even a whole season of blood sweat and tears, it was the culmination of an entire life’s learning. From a little kid kicking a footy in Kalgoorlie to learning life’s lessons, overcoming setbacks and injury, finding mentors, and ultimately, and most importantly, not just being defined by that one kick, but by far more grounded and valuable life lessons we call all learn from.
