Paul teaches that you can outgrow your temptations. (“When I was a child…”) This is looking back on a previous time. He is acknowledging that he was a child, and that he had the “tendencies” of a child but that he had MOVED ON from that. Some people NEVER move on—they don’t know how to, or don’t know how to WANT to GROW. They are still dealing with the same desires and emotions as they did when they were an adolescent.
While we understand that Faith is the way we “please” God, learning to walk out Faith in our everyday lives can be much easier SAID than DONE. Because we have been led to believe that when we come to Christ that all will be well and that we will be blessed and favored, and that God will take care of us…when it comes to our walk with God, we have a hard time putting the words “GROWING” and “PAIN” together. We can’t seem to equate PAIN with GROWTH…our minds can’t quite wrap around the fact that GROWTH just might be PAINFUL.
This is a tragic and yet beautiful picture of the WAR that takes place in life and mind. It’s the battle for supremacy between the LAW OF GOD and the LAW OF SIN within every heart. Paul is documenting the inward tug-of-war that takes place between his spirit man and his flesh. He makes it clear that it is his MIND that will determine which side wins. Your MIND will cast the determining VOTE between your FLESH and your SPIRIT. Which ever one wins the allegiance of your MIND will ultimately claim control over your LIFE!
Your senses become doors of entry to temptations that seek to enslave your life. (See, hear, touch, taste, smell) Each of these become doors and they leave doors called memories. These memories can produce “thought strongholds” that will eventually lead you back to ensnaring actions. It's time to tear them down.

When the enemy attempts to find us alone, unarmed, and without TRUTH ringing in our ears and tries to make us doubt what God said, what His intentions are and what our identity is, we must know God’s word so deep in our hearts that we can BOLDY declare against his lies - IT IS WRITTEN!
If we are going to redeem the time, then we are going to have to understand how time and purpose relates in our lives. If we fail to understand this principle—we will live lives of frustration that leads to bitterness because we begin to believe the lies of the enemy about our identity.
You have come to the Kingdom for such a time as this…and you will not be denied! IT IS WRITTEN! YOU ARE WRITTEN! WE ARE WRITTEN!

There is HEALING on the “other side” of your pain! For every disappointment, every discouragement and every fear that seeks to destroy the PEACE in your life—there is a WORD from the OTHER SIDE! And that Word declares that WE WIN!
There is a VOICE that is crying out this morning…from the OTHER SIDE of your pain and your fear. If you will listen closely, and drowned out all of the other voices that are attempting to convince you that you will never make it, and that you are destined to fail…and you will hear it clearly.
When we look at (1 Cor. 13) we see those “16 Candles” set on top of God’s great GIFT to us in His Son. Those candles are without a doubt the LIGHT OF THE WORLD—they stand as beacons in the darkness, and they declare all over the world that THERE’S STILL HOPE in LOVE!
”In the Beginning” God had a plan—though man has succumbed to his flesh and bowed to the idols of the times, God’s plan for the Family remains unchanged. If you are SINGLE, MARRIED, DIVORCED, or are parenting by yourself…God has a plan for you!
God is seeking to draw us to a more extravagant love relationship with him than we have ever experienced before. He is not looking for legalism, religion, or people that do all the right things...He is looking for lovers!
