American Lit: Recent Episodes

Throughout our podcast, we will largely focus on the comparison of “Young Goodman Brown” by Nathaniel Hawthorne and “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller. Both stories are of the Dark Romanticism movement and include similar themes as they focus on relatively the same events. Though the stories were written by different authors, they both deal with the village of Salem. At the end of the Podcast, we will discuss how these stories relate back to the short piece, “Self-reliance” by Ralph Waldo Emerson and the Transcendentalism literary movement.
