Jarred recently shared with us that sometimes it can be difficult to create unique monk characters given their narrow definition in game, so we took it upon ourselves to try and explore some alternative approaches to the monk lifestyle!

Hello dear listeners! You've made it to the final week of Fright Forge 2020! We're so proud of you for traversing the abyss with us and helping us to make this most spooky of seasons a little more fun. This week we finish off our month of fun and frights by building an adventure based around the grand daddy of phobias, the fear of death itself!
We talk about our favorite personifications of death and provide some great ideas for how to build an intimidating aspect of the grave for your DnD games. We also talk about some fun quests you could build around an interaction with such a character. There's so much to this trope that we could have packed in 10 episodes worth of ideas, so I think this is something we may well revisit in the future.
We also take a moment to talk about a really fun sponsored supplement in the rec room! This week we're talking about Galifax's Guide to Everything Evil! Instead we are using booster packs of Magic the Gathering cards to guide our creations! Our aim was to show how inspiration can come from anywhere, and we utilize the art, the flavor text, and the mechanics of these cards to inform our Dungeons and Dragons creations! Is capitalism the best socioeconomic option for YOUR fantasy world? Probably not! But sometimes it's nice to just have a fantastically wealthy guardian angel sitting on your shoulder! We talk about the how and why an individual may become wealthy, and what they may want to do with all their gold once they acquire it. Maybe they fund a payday loan outfit for down on their luck adventurers, or maybe they help build a new class of hero from nothing!
We go over those and a few other interesting options, as well as develop our own rich old bastards, and talk about how they can help drive your stories forward. Some of our inspirations include, Tony Stark, Bruce Wayne, Ebeneezer Scrooge, Carlisle Cullen, and... Harry Potter? Don't worry we're always happy to find new ways to roast JK Rowling, but we do think our boy HP fits into this trope in an interesting way.
Some of our other fun sources of inspiration for stories involving money, and those who have it, include mythological creatures like the Leprechaun, Dragons, Pixiu, and the humble Magpie! We also definitely think you should check out S-Town! Welcome back to World Forge where this week we are doing something new, something big, and something we feel a lot of you will really find useful.
We've been struggling for some time now to find ways to have satisfying gaming experiences in 1 on 1 settings, we know it can be difficult to get a group together regularly, and we've been looking for 1 on 1 roleplay options that can mimic the experience of having a full party. This week we take a stab at fleshing out a system and setting that allows for exciting interactions regardless of how many players you have available. For us this takes the form of a fantasy western in an alternate history America. We attempt to establish some interesting concepts that could work well in our games, or any others with a bit of light modification. We also attempt to fill out a party of characters that could act as a rotating cast for groups of any size.
After taking a big swing at this, we also have some exciting recommendations that may be helpful in your own worldbuilding endeavors. This week we want you to check out the youtube channel Hello Future Me, and specifically their videos about worldbuilding! We love their insights and think that what they have to say could be really valuable for anyone out there looking to build something like what we attempt today.

Welcome back listeners to World Forge! This week, in honor of Valentine's Day, we've decided to talk about how to incorporate romance into your stories and games. What makes an interesting love story, and how do you approach this in a way that everyone at the table is comfortable with? These are the kinds questions we'll be addressing on this episode!
But we are not alone! We decided what better episode than this to invite one of our most cherished friends, Lillian Cotter, on air to help us spread the love to your ears and your games. So here's what we did, we each created a character based on a random prompt, then we lock them in a room and see who falls in love first! It's speed dating D&D style! We also talk about wild west slip n slide parties, how to escape a thirst trap, and what the perfect date night looks like for each of our characters!
We also recommend a really fun party game that is also based on love and relationships, and that's Slash! Slash is a game where you compete with your friends to make the best romantic fan fiction pairing, using characters from movies, television, pop culture, history, and literature! Welcome back to another episode of World Forge! This week whatever color hat you wear, you've got a place around our campfire because we're talking about cowboys and outlaws! We go hog wild talking about all kinds of cool western tropes and how to use them to create interesting characters for just about any setting.

Welcome back listeners to another episode of World Forge! This week we're talking about spooky cults and murder clubs!
Right at the top here I want to point out something I'm sure you'll all notice right away, we had some weird audio issues this week. Due to issues we've since addressed, my mic wasn't picking up properly, and Piper's mic was coming in a bit hot. It's not the worst but we apologize for the dip in audio quality, the problem was fixed after recording so next week we're back to our normal standards!
